Note: This takes place the day before S9's Reentry. Poor Hetty ;(

'He's been dead for a year.' Jennifer Kim told Hetty.

She expected it in a way, but hearing it was still shocking.

'Okay. Where, where is he buried?'

'The big tree out there. I'll show you.'

Kim took Hetty out to that beautiful field, and to the big tree where he was buried.

'A week after he came here, he went out for a walk, and never came back. I came here, and found him under the tree. I figured he wanted to be buried here.'

'It's, beautiful out here. Sniff.' Hetty responded.

'Are you okay?'

'I, think I need to go. I need time to myself.'

Fighting the urge to cry, Hetty went home.

She went through her old photos of her Granger. 'Mmm. We really were extraordinary.' She thought.

After a while, she laid on her bed.

'I knew this was mostly to be expected, given how sick he was when he left. But, some part of me wanted him to be alive so he can, comfort me in things related to what I went through for 3 months', She thought to herself.

Last fall, she faked retirement and snuck into Vietnam to rescue a man who had been thought dead for years. It had been a trap, and she was taken captive. It had taken her team 3 months to find her, in which during those 3 months, She had been beaten and almost killed. She had been back at work for a few weeks after 2 months of recovering at home.

She had wanted to go looking for Granger sooner, but was too timid to do it. Until that day, when she decided to call Kim and ask her what had happened to him.

'What am I gonna do?! He's really dead, and I really miss him. My new partner dosn't exactly trust me or my team, and Keane won't return ANY of my calls! What, am I, going, to do?!'

She eventually cried herself to sleep.

The next morning

Hetty woke up miserable.

'Sigh. Well, what are you going to do, woman? You gonna mope around all day, or are you going to do something about it?' She thought to herself in the mirror.

And decided what she would do.

She would take the day off and visit Keane, and try to help him.

She drove to this place. Just before she went in, She thought of a happy time between her and Granger.

And wiped away a tear.
