A/N: I was running out of things to write, and honestly the source song was better than anything I would've come up with. So yeah. Here be your lyrics. No ownership of the source material!

Chapter 9: Brittany's Song

She watched helplessly as Santana ran off into the storm. She worried her fears were revealing themselves as the couples began to grumble. Being stuck together was no way to start a relationship. She only wished Santana had stuck around to stay with her.

I sense there's something in the wind

That feels like tragedy's at hand

And though I'd like to stand by her

Can't shake this feeling that I have

The worst is just around the corner

And does she notice my feelings for her

And will she see how much she means to me

I think it's not to be

What will become of my dear friend

Where will her actions lead us then

Although I'd like to join the crowd

In their enthusiastic cloud

Try as I may, it doesn't last

And will we ever end up together

No, I think not, it's never to become

For I am not the one

Lord Tubbington descended from the tower, braving the rain to comfort his owner. His love, Cero, had run off with hers. They'd both been left behind with a crowd of townspeople who thought that the tragedy of her sadness and the rain only improved upon the holiday. Broken hearts were the point, right? Forcing people together for better or worse? This seemed accurate. Brittany, on the other hand, just stroked LT sadly. How could Santana not see how important she was to her? She'd done everything she asked out of love, and she'd made the storm to try and stop tragedy. After all, Jack's plan wasn't a success, why should Santana's be any different? What Brittany didn't understand is that Santana had used the rest of the town to try and please her, This wasn't about taking over Valentines day, it was about bringing it's feelings to their dreary town.

Meanwhile, Santana and Cero found that the hill was still relatively dry by some sort of magic. Her plan could still work. So long as Brittany's seams didn't split in the water. She laid out the blanket and the basket, wiping as much water off her new suit as she could. This plan would work!

In town, the cupids had regained their senses and set off to do the job the usual cupids couldn't. They were attacking regular citizens everywhere, and news quickly made its way back to Halloweentown.

"Santana isn't here, and she won't stop this." Brittany said "I have to find Valentine!"

Brittany made her way to Schuester's shack and attempted to save the red robed man. He could stop this, he had to. Or Valentines would be ruined. And Santana would give up on love, and they'd really never be together. Unfortunately, she'd been easily caught by the bug man.

"Okay Cero, go find Brittany and make sure she's got her dress on!" Santana sent the dog off to find her, but when Cero returned with only Lord Tubbington, Santana knew something had gone wrong.
