Soul-Stabilizing Gem
The next day...
'I take it that everyone has a good rest?' Jun Xian greeted both family and guest.
'Yes.' said Mo Qianyuan. 'Thank you for your hospitality, Lin Wang.' he bowed gratefully.
'Well, your situation as of last night is dangerous as well as ours.' said Jun Qing.
Wuxie reckoned the angry Emperor will arrange for his death, and then blame the Juns for not 'being meticulous enough' thus people will be angry at them.
They have to kill all Assassins under their payroll first.
'Miss Jun amazes and also scares me with her theories that can actually come true.' said Qianyuan gloomily. 'My life is an every day black joke come true.' he stated with a feeble sigh.
Then just now a soldier came in.
'Your highness, a group from Qingyun Sect requests they be allowed entry into the city.' he said. 'They are here for Miss Bai.'
The man then gulped at the evil looks his bosses are sporting, as well as the Crown Prince. 'Erm...'
'I suspect its for her causing Qingyun Sect leader to lose face and respect in Ghost City and he got wind of it not long ago~' Jun Qing smiled sinisterly.
'Really, its not wise of her to throw around the name of Qingyun Sect, particularly that of her teacher's, while showing out trash pills. And thanks to the unwitting help of grandfather peddler, everyone in Ghost City knows that he's a crap teacher when he actually wasn't.' Wuxie giggled. 'Serves her right! Guide the sect to a nice waiting area within the City Walls, treat them like VIP and explain that due to weeding out corrupt officials and assassins, nobody's allowed in or out unless they have a good reason and allowed in by us. Provide wine and Food, put it on our tab, we'll pay whoever store you took from later. After breakfast, we will come and personally escort them to the palace. We absolutely cannot miss entertainment!'
'Yes miss!' and the soldier left.
'They should wait, since they wronged us too.' Jun Xian huffed. By ensuring his son cannot be fully healed, Emperor bribed the Sect! Jun Qing's face was akin to having swallowed a bug at the memory of being crippled for TEN YEARS and deemed a lost cause, when Wuxie, a newbie doctor cured him in a month!
Yes, he's unhappy with them alright.
xxx
Later...
'We apologize for making you wait.' said Wuxie as she came with Wuyao, while Crown Prince was escorted home by her grandfather and uncle. They greeted properly as Wuyao was dressed in black his face covered. 'We want to make sure that nobody dares to come in and out due to the chaos last night.'
'I suppose its reasonable, who would have thought the State of Qi is mired in corruption rooted out by Crown Prince by playing fool for years to catch the corrupt officials unawares.' said the Sect Leader Qin Yue rather admirably. Their crimes were publicly known as come next morning on the public bulletin, names of officials and their crimes were written down for all public to see!
The people were in a rage to know where their tax money went.
And since it has gone on for years, they all shared a verdict: Punishment Unto The Third Generation.
He had known his student's actual mission. Qingyun Sect has been asked to heal or to kill over the years by supplying Elixirs or Poison. But to think he can turn his situation around through Borrowing a Knife!
But for now, they are here for another purpose.
Punishment.
'Indeed so, while Second Prince is clearly using his facade to gain public support so he be Emperor instead on other hand, failing to see the bigger picture.' Wuxie shook her head. 'His audaciousness is clear. I am Jun Wuxie. Our men is guarding Crown Prince as we speak. I'll now take you to the palace.'
So she did.
And so...
Bai Yunxian was terrified, when Wuxie escorted her master, sister disciple and a couple bodyguards in. They were composed earlier, but Qin Yue and Qin Yuyan showed how furious they were with Bai Yunxian.
'You have no idea what trouble you caused us!' Qin Yuyan snarled, furious, pulling Bai Yunxian's hair angrily. 'How dare you smear my father's name in Ghost City of all places! It took us a while to clean up your mess, but the damage is long done! We will regain what's ours but you're gonna pay for it with your life!'
'I'm so sorry! I'm so sorry!' Bai Yunxian sobbed, begging for her life as she knew she'll be killed soon.
'What has Miss Bai done and we haven't heard of it yet?' the Emperor asked, perplexed. Sure his son told him she's in trouble, but for what, was unknown. Xuanfei on the other hand, knows the truth and looked nervous.
'Replying to his majesty, there's word going around Ghost City for weeks now that Miss Bai has insulted a vendor by selling him with what he calls 'trash pills of Qingyun Sect',' her words angered father and daughter behind her, looking utterly incensed as by the foot of Qin Yuyan, Bai Yunxian was in utter fear, ashen white like her dress. '-and trying to buy his Eastern Pearls with it.' Wuxie reported.
'He could tell the quality of elixirs by aroma alone from within the bottle even before seeing the actual pill. And she's trying to sell him poorly-made, but big-name elixirs by insisting he take it as it's a great honor, so he got really angry at her persistent swindling and threw her out, insulted by her by thinking he's dumb enough to take cheap pills for his precious pearls. And seeing that she's causing such trouble and Elder Pearl Peddler explained to city guards, she pretty much caused the blacklisting of Qingyun Sect Members from Ghost City since. Its the latest gossip.'
What she gets for trying to con an old man, Wuxie thought wryly. In Ghost City, it's either go big or go home!
Blacklisted a whole sect from Ghost City.
Such a thing even shook the Emperor in horror.
That was the worst thing to happen to cultivators as Ghost City has everything one needs to cultivate, if they can pay for it through Barter Trade!
'And that's what we're here about. That old man turned out to be an expert in appraising pills and jewels.' said Qin Yue coldly. He had to go through the trouble of regaining the respect of Ghost City and even talked to its ruler who was terrifyingly powerful with authority to match he swore his life years was considerably shaved off, he and his subordinate Clan Elders had to really put in effort just so the Sect be allowed in the city again. 'You have caused us great shame and trouble! Have I not treated you well and educated you myself, Bai Yunxian? And you repay me with shame?! Perhaps its time I re-educate you for the last time how effective pills are, when properly-made.'
'Please master! I'm so sorry! Please forgive me!' Bai Yunxian sobbed as Qin Yuyan took out a bottle that made her shriek in horror as Qin Yuyan took out a single dark brown pill into the palm of her hand.
'Open her mouth!' she commanded as Bai Yunxian's mouth was forcefully opened by the bodyguards and Qin Yuyan shoved that pill in and forced it down her sister pupil's throat.
It was clearly execution by poison.
Bai Yunxian screamed in agonizing pain and twitched violently, like an earthworm that got poured salt over its sensitive skin. Her skin turned white, all her veins showing...and even bulging...that she looked like a plant took root in her quickly in a matter of seconds. So great was the pain her hair turned white.
Wuxie knew that poison well. It's Jingxuexing. The bulging veins are caused by blood crystallizing within the veins, making one so pale due to losing blood and oxygen. The agonizing pain wasn't just from veins being stretched out by solidified body fluids, but also from having 'foreign object' in the body and maximized one's pain receptor response. Due to said foreign objects, curing the sufferer is impossible even for Wuxie. Suffer before death!
In a few minutes, she was a horrible corpse. She died quick that pill must be around Grade 8. If Grade 9, it'll take a minute.
'We came here to deliver punishment.' said Qin Yue. 'And we will have further business discussions with the Emperor.'
'Then, shall we take this out?' Wuxie offered to Qin Yue as she looked at the corpse. 'We cannot have a contaminated corpse before the Emperor and the people, so we'll deal with her Sky Burial.'
'I am grateful.' said Qin Yue politely to her with a small smile.
The guards, not wanting to touch the body, pulled Bai Yunxian's corpse by hair as the Jun Party left...while Ye Mei was tasked to spy on everything.
(the terrified maids have something to gossip about by break time and by then, all servants know and naturally, news reached Mo Qianyuan through his new servants)
xxx
'Hoo boy. One snake down and it's gonna be replaced.' Wuxie pouted as she had the corpse thrown out the city for Sky Burial. 'Its like getting a viper in return!' she grumbled.
'Well, we'll see how this plays out, Xie'er.' said Wuyao.
'Hey, let's put up a smaller bulletin regarding Bai Yunxian.' Wuxie instructed a soldier. 'People will wonder why Second Prince's girlfriend is out the city and dead after all, might as well enlighten everybody.'
'Yes miss!'
Thus to be a bit nicer, the exact wording was:
Death Report:
Bai Yunxian - she has brought great disgrace and shame to Qingyun Sect
as a whole and tarnished her master's respected name by her actions.
Qingyun Sect has delivered her punishment reflecting her actions, and her
body thrown out the city for Sky Burial. WARNING: Do not touch the corpse.
Naturally, it spread like fire on oil.
Second Prince was a perfect couple with her! She has it all! Beauty, Prestige and a Great Backing! How can she be so stupid and ungrateful by bringing shame to her master and school?
And what does Second Prince think, when his girlfriend is executed by her master?
However, cultivators know the truth that by sundown, even commoners know why she was killed. It made her crime seem bigger in the eyes of commoners now. Who was this stupid to anger a powerful organization?!
xxx
'As a precaution, take this on you.' Wuxie gave Qianyuan a pill. 'It's a universal detector.'
Qianyuan looked at the pill as if he'd swallow turd.
He can now detect poison by puking upon feeling its presence and where.
'They'll send someone worse over no doubt.' he said miserably as he popped it in.
'I'm afraid so, but Emperor is also stretching their patience.' said Wuxie. 'In return for their months of service, they want something called Soul Gem only the Royal Family possessed and he still won't fork it over.' she said. 'Its a treasure traditionally passed down from one Emperor to the next upon crowning. Qin Yue is already annoyed, and made an example out of Second Prince using a low-level pill. He'll suffer for a few days, giving pressure on the Emperor since, well, he's his favorite son after all and his chosen successor so no doubt, Second Prince knows and you don't. All servants know the situation after all~'
'And I'm glad I'm not the favorite or it's me suffering that poison now.' Qianyuan snorted. 'I'm scott-free.'
'Incase, cultivate.' Wuxie warned him. 'You're now a Green, secretly surpassing Second Prince's Yellow. Go Blue before trouble comes.' she advised
'Mm.'
xxx
'Noooow then, I wonder how this will play out.' said Wuxie, watering her lotus with Jade Wine. 'Things are getting interesting aren't they~'
Only the Royal Family and the Jun Clan know about it.
The Kingdom of Qi has two pieces of Soul Gem. It was handed down by the founders of the Kingdom of Qi. The two pieces of jade was originally one whole, when they founded the kingdom, the founding Emperor broke the jade in two, and kept one half in the palace, and gifted the other half to his comrade in arms who was of a different family name, General Jun Xian. So the gem was whole once more and in Jun Family hands.
Just half of each is worthless. Qingyun will want the whole thing.
Thing is, that gem, is rightfully theirs!
The Soul Gem had been with the Kingdom of Qi for decades, besides being a symbol of the kingdom's founding glory and honor, it had served little other purpose and it was no great loss to gift it to the Qingyun Clan in the thoughts of the royal family.
The problem was, it was given to Jun Xian. A person who holds family and everything that belongs to family precious. He may not be willing to part with it.
If she remembered it correctly, when Jun Xian's eldest son, who was Wuxie's father, died in battle, and that piece of Soul Gem had been buried together with him. If they were to retrieve it, that would mean digging up Jun Gu's grave! That, Wuxie will not allow if she can help it.
'Soul Gem...a priceless treasure even I'd get hard-pressed to get my hands on.' Wuyao mused with resignation. 'Its true name is actually Soul-Stabilizing Gem.' he said, making an illusion of it. 'The Soul Stabilizing Gem actually came from the Spectre Realm, and it can heal Spirits. Wonder why Qingyun Sect wants it. Not that I care. But its a priceless treasure.' he said. 'Moreover, it's impossible for it to be split in half. Its most likely a lie just so one person gets to keep it at all times.'
'Mm. Well, at least our liege is safe and nobody knows the truth.' said Wuxie. 'We can have an uncorrupt Emperor though I hope Second Prince won't die too soon since he'll get all the poison pressure and I invested so many pills in Crown Prince, and they're not cheap.' she said with a pout. 'Oh yes, before I forget, I go talk to the family about the pills I mass-produced.'
Blood Fortification Pill.
Wuxie's creation that can strengthen one's arteries and veins, for cultivation even at adulthood.
Its why cultivation got really easier and smoother lately, even for Jun Xian, an elderly old man. Green he was once, now a Blue Spirit. But low-level. Jun Qing was prioritized more for being younger and stronger, and still a Commander. He was peak-level blue as of late, but his owl fell behind, so he was having Bone Rot Owl cultivate using the bead Wuxie gave him to match him, alongside goods Bone Rot Owl needs.
At dinner...
'Wuxie, what will you do about those numerous boxes of pills you made before our big day yesterday?' Jun Xian asked her.
'Well, its a Blood Fortification Pill I designed.' said Wuxie cheerfully, 'Its to improve the veins and arteries. These are especially useful to improve the cultivation in adults.'
The dining room fell silent.
Jun Xian, Jun Qing and Long Qi looked at her in disbelief.
'Wuxie, is it true? This is really capable of doing that?!' Jun Qing's voice was trembling with excitement.
'Well you three knew firsthand didn't you? I mean, Uncle and Long Qi went from Yellow to Blue and Grandfather went Blue from Green as well in just a short time.' Wuxie told her family. 'We've been taking them for a month now, see? A month is enough to reach peak state.'
Two jaws dropped.
Now that she mentioned it, their bodies not only felt stronger, cultivation also went a lot smoother!
'Oh my god! Our smooth-sailing progress was due to this?!' Jun Xian cried in excitement.
'Yes.' Wuxie smiled. 'I prioritized us first due to our precarious situation against the palace, but now that it's safe, I can safely mass-produce pills ready for shipping now.' she said. 'Each bottle I ordered can contain thirty pills, one pill a day for each man.'
Wuxie prepares their daily meals with herbs, and sends them various medicine to condition their bodies. Their bodies were not as weak as before, but with the extravagant variety they had been enjoying, the changes were too myriad, and they did not realize the improvements to their health and bodies, that enabled training and development by leaps and bounds.
As it was common knowledge that development of veins and arteries stop once they turn into adults, they did not for a moment think it was due to their food and medicine that changed that, and gave them such astonishing results from their daily training.
This was just...unbelievable.
Wuxie was telling the truth!
The Rui Lin Army is too big, so she can only manage to give them pills. Wuxie would have liked to feed them medicinal meals as well, it would have been less harsh to their bodies, but for a hundred thousand...they couldn't afford it even if they sold the entire Lin Palace. Well, she won't tell them that. Nope. Hell, she purchased Eastern Pearls to sell it for huge money! Millions of taels in gold Rui Lin Army had to escort such fortune home! A box of ten, is enough to fill National Treasury and she sold three boxes due to her stunt to mass-produce pills.
Jun Xian felt his heart beating faster.
'These pills are really what you claim them to be?' Jun Qing asked, his eyes lit aflame with fervor, not many things can move this father and son to such an extend!
Wuxie nodded.
Father and son both exchanged troubled glances.
'Wuxie, you invented this?' Jun Xian asked sternly.
'Yes. Its too easy to figure out.' even the ever-serious Long Qi was gobsmacked at this point.
How can he not? The young miss cured the masters in a month, made them stronger for another and slyly made their veins stronger? Just what mind does she have? Her medicinal intelligence is heaven-sent!
'This is unheard of, Wuxie. But if news of this were to leak, it will stir up quite a storm. The Lin Palace might be able to hold his own in the State of Qi, but if the news spread beyond, not just the people of Qi, the other kingdoms will not sit idly by. You will be in danger of kidnapping.' Jun Xian was unusually stern, his granddaughter's skill and knowledge was both a blessing and a curse.
Qingyun Clan won its reputation throughout the kingdoms, not with might, but with medicine. They had the best doctors, the best pharmacists, under the skies. Even the mightiest of powers, pay some form of deference to Qingyun Clan, for their well known prowess in medicine. Though Bai Yunxian caused them trouble as of late with Ghost City and other kingdoms no doubt...but Qingyun may have regained its lost prestige, since it took them a while to punish Bai Yunxian.
What Wuxie has been producing, was far beyond the capabilities of the Qingyun Clan. Just like this fortification medicine that develops the veins and arteries of adults, were simply unheard of.
All this while, it was known the window to develop veins and arteries was such. Everyone strengthened and developed their veins and arteries before adulthood, and had no choice but trained slowly and fixedly after turning adult.
If it was known, there existed a pill, that allowed adults to develop their veins and arteries, it will surely be earth shattering!
If it was leaked, the lands will be in upheaval, Lin Palace might be strong within Qi, but if it attracted the eye of other kingdoms and powers, even they might be unable to protect Wuxie.
'Does Crown Prince know?' Jun Qing asked Wuxie nervously.
'Nope.' Wuxie childishly shook her head. 'I simply told him that he'll be anemic after poison purging, so while I did tell him the name of the pill, I told him that its to help him restore his blood amount that he lost to the purging and further heal his bone marrows, not for strengthening his veins and arteries...' she looked playfully mischievous now and all cutesy about it. 'Why would I tell family secrets?'
Father, son and bodyguard sighed in relief.
'Phew...'
'And it better stay that way, family secrets.' said Jun Xian. 'We will send them to the barracks now under great care. I believe not a single soldier in the Rui Lin Army will betray the Jun Family even when faced with death.' Jun Xian had absolute trust in the Rui Lin Army, and turning to Long Qi, 'I shall leave it in your hands. Do not tell the Rui Lin Army anything about the medicine, and just to eat them as prescribed. Tell them to not question nor discuss any effects the medicine might bring. Not a single word to any outside the Rui Lin Army, and to forget they ever took any medicine at all.'
'Rest assured, Your Highness! Your orders shall be carried out.' Long Qi vowed, his heart burning with fervor. Raising his eyes, his keen sight locked on the profile of the family missy.
Jun Wuxie, shall become the leader whom the Rui Lin Army will die for, and that will not change!
Due to the significance of the cargo, Jun Xian ordered the majority of the guards at Lin Palace as escort with Long Qi. The carriages filled with crates of pills left the Imperial City after dark, with none the wiser, the nondescript horse carriages were carrying, pills that can cause vast upheaval throughout the lands!
That night, was the night the Rui Lin Army was transformed on the sly, and only Long Qi knows the truth.

At the Imperial Palace...
The Emperor is in a bad mood.
Qingyun Sect has come to punish Bai Yunxian before she can act on their plan, and they refused to aid him as they gave too many efforts because he was delaying in giving them what they wanted. He had stalled by granting the sect money and cultivation resources as the problem is, HE DOESN'T KNOW WHERE THE SOUL GEM IS!
He obtained the throne by arranging his father's illness.
How could he have known the tradition of the Emperors of Qi?! The knowledge of the Soul Gem died with him! His deed now came to bite him in the worst time possible!
He had searched his father's books and diaries for the knowledge as no Soul Gem, Xuanfei will die in a month!
None!
There's traditions that can only be passed down orally! ORALLY!
Then there's Qianyuan!
Had he known this will happen, he should have taken care of better things so HE'LL get the poison and not Xuanfei! But now that he alienated him and everyone in the palace knows it, he refuses whatsoever to even spare his brother a glance.
Damn brat! He ignores any and all summons under the reason being, he was busy!
xxx
'Aha, it's growing well!' Wuxie poked at her lotus on the basin fondly. 'Well, with Qingyun Sect itself dealing with that errant girl, the two problems it seems, will be dealt with by the sect too~'
'Let's not be too hasty Xie'er.' said Wuyao. 'A cornered rat tends to bite.' he warned her with his playful smile.
'That's true but I doubt Crown Prince is a pushover any more.' Wuxie snorted. 'Emperor has no power over him now.' In the two months she has been visiting, they can no longer sneak poison to Crown Prince. And they'll no longer get any help since Emperor stalled for too long. And since Qingyun knows he favors Second Prince as successor instead of Crown Prince, they think he doesn't know anything about the Soul Gem. So our government is secure. I say we win but I gotta agree we watch and wait for now...or we let loose the trump card we have...if the Emperor decided to bite.'
...aaaanndd I'm gonna take a page off my old world's book. We kill him by destroying his reputation beyond salvation since death is too nice.
Wuyao could say he was proud as she is now capable of devious thoughts and looks. She's growing up, but still lots more to work on.
xxx
Qianyuan read a letter from Wuxie.
Things are getting really interesting.
He was glad his father and brother lost a powerful ally, not to mention he walks off scott free and if stuff happens the right way, he won't inherit their mess either. He certainly didn't deserve Qingyun's annoyance when he did nothing to earn it!
That, and they are watching every missive sent out as the Juns still have the city on lockdown. Nothing can leave. Even Merchants affiliated to the country have to be checked!
They just have to make sure his father won't pin this shit on him as on the day Xuanfei was poisoned, he had gone out 'on business trips' after vetting the idea with the Juns, after working around the city like any proper Crown Prince should. In fact, he mostly stays in hotels instead of going home!
And a month passed by...
...everyone knows that Mo Xuanfei is 'dead by illness' judging by the howls of the Emperor.
'Ara ara, so that's how it is? Well, given what you found out, he only has himself to blame.' said Wuxie as word reached them. 'But grandfather, uncle, everyone knows father has it...what do we do?'
Her family grimaced.
From Jun Xian, she learnt that people of this world would place a piece of jade into the mouth of the deceased to ward off evil, and believed that this would allow the soul to rest in peace.
The Soul Gem was bestowed to their family by the founding Emperor, and a symbol of the glory of Qi. When Jun Gu was killed in battle, Jun Xian was devastated and things linked to his past glories achieved from his own battles only served to remind him painfully of his loss, and he decided to bury the Soul Gem with Jun Gu.
Who would have expected that after so many years, Qing Yun Clan would come searching for the very same Soul Jade?
'With regards to this, your uncle and I will settle the issue.' Jun Xian sighed, having come to a decision in his heart.
The deceased was no longer here, while the living continue to suffer the tribulations of life. The might of the Qing Yun Clan was not something that Lin Palace could stand up to. Even if they refused, the fact that the Soul Gem was buried together with Jun Gu was widely known among the people, and with the slightest probe, the Qingyun Clan would easily find out about it.
Knowing Qingyun Clan's tyrannical ways, they will disregard any protest the Jun Family put up.
Instead of having the Qingyun Clan dig up the grave forcefully, they would rather carry out the task themselves.
Jun Wuxie, remained silent, as she saw the look of helplessness and grief on the faces of Jun Xian and Jun Qing, as she gripped her hands tightly.
Their disparity in might, showed her clearly how harsh reality could be.
The law of the jungle, the weak stands at the mercy of the strong. However reluctant they might be, there was no other way.
How much more injustice must they put up with?
She's one unhappy camper.

'You were in a good mood earlier and now you look ready to kill someone.' Wuyao commented.
'More like, a lot of someones if I could!' Wuxie fumed, looking at her cabinet of poisons. 'The problem is those Blue Spirit Bodyguards! Grandfather and Uncle are out of shape even if they're Blue Spirits. Then there's you and Long Qi as well as Zuilian. Numbers alone is problematic and the army's all Oranges so they all compensated with discipline, body, skill and tactic! None of them are even Yellow like myself! 'For a Soul-Stabiliizing Gem, they'll desecrate father's rest?! Grandfather and Uncle have no choice! They're contemplating doing it themselves for a gentler touch than what Qingyun will do!'
She can already see the manner of how they'll do it, even! Dig up the grave, kick the coffin lid off, dissect her father and then leave as is!
'Then, what do you wish to do?' Wuyao asked, wrapping his arms around her.
'I want them dead!' Wuxie growled. 'I won't let my family concede defeat either! I can't believe Pharmacists of this world are so immoral! Pharmacists where I'm from are truly respectable and gentle people!'
Well, Wuyao thought, she only met one, as he studied all people she knew when he perused her memories. She can't judge a bunch of people in a field through just one person.
Prince Songmi Xiaoyao. Nanyi Country's Chief Pharmacist who is very picky with customers, but her mother has his ear, though she never exploited that benefit, being too nice for that.
She only met him at her mother's funeral, clad in white mourning clothes. That was the first and last time she met him, but he spoke to her gently and kindly. He was one of the very few people to treat her kindly, the national trash, so she has a good opinion of him. Normally for little moon, touches cause pain. But his touch, a pat on her head felt good which she deemed kind.
Well, she only got one example.
'Hummm...maybe we can arrange things.' Wuyao smiled. 'How good are you with your technique?'
'Still a bit rough, but get me motivated and maybe for one day, I have fine-tuned control.' Wuxie swore. 'If I lack control, well, not even I can cure anybody...but its not like I'll cure enemies, will I?'
Wuyao wore a cold smile.
His little moon created a technique through her poison bottles. Sure, it's all Grade 5 as her family is no Qingyun Sect, nor wealthy enough to fill a treasury, but it still works. Devastatingly.
And they are all her own designs only she knew the cure of.
Knowledge aside from lower and middle realms, he had also given her what Qingyun Sect knows and she has a counter for everything they made in regards to poison.
Thus her weapons here, are something unknown to them.
'Miss, your family plans to go.' Ye Mei reported. 'To the family graveyard.'
That was to her horror.
'OH HELL NO!' she ran out the room to stop her family.
She managed to convince them, but they still need to dig up the grave as to get the Soul Gem just so Qingyun won't defile Jun Gu's grave and go to them instead.
However...
Wuxie poured a poison boundary around the cemetery.
'Er?' her family and guards looked at her as she drew a line using jars of poison she has on her.
'It's my Toxic Boundary. It will emit fumes that go straight up, regardless of whichever way the wind blows, since it has my ki mixed into it.' Wuxie explained. 'It's odorless and colorless so no one's the wiser...if anyone goes past this, will get poisoned immediately and symptoms will begin to show in ten minutes, so they won't enjoy their crime for long...I have the antidote of course, incase of friendly accidents...and after ten minutes when symptoms show, victims have three hours to reach me for the cure or not even I can save them.'
'A nice present for the Qingyun Clan, if ever.' Wuyao informed the family. 'It's Jingsi Poison, her own concoction. Its not in known books.' he said. 'Even better, symptoms in question? It ensures trying to gather ki will cause you great pain and speed up the process instead.'
'...I know miss is a budding pharmacist but this is way too surreal.' Long Qi croaked out with a gulp.
xxx
'I never dreamed this thing will cause us trouble...we just follow the traditions of the dead and yet...' said Jun Xian as he mournfully looked at the jade in the dining room. 'It's just a jade!'
Wuyao preferred not to enlighten her family about it and he had Wuxie keep quiet too. Because this treasure can tempt anyone, even those claiming to be 'loyal' to their masters. Its best that they think it's useless.
Wuxie wanted to touch the jade, but she feels it threaten her very life, so nope and had the family touch it.
When he asked in private?
'Brother Yao, I'm a reincarnate and not even a year old in this body.' Wuxie deadpanned. 'What do you think it'll do to me, someone who just wore this body? Being near it makes me feel the equivalent of a person wearing flimsy, loosely worn clothes trying to walk against strong winds!'
Yeah, she felt threatened by it and was terrified of it even if Bailian was happy with it around because he has no reason to fear for his life anymore.
