Robby pov

Raven takes shallow panicked breaths as she stares intently at Finn. The alcohol didn't do as much as I'd hoped.

"Look at me," Finn says.

Raven scoffs slightly, then her eyes close.

"I think she passed out," I say looking at Abby.

"The alcohol is finally kicking in," Dr Griffin says.

"Good," I say.

The surgery goes quite smoothly. Raven moans in discomfort through her drunken slumber. She did down about half a bottle of moonshine. I'm surprised she didn't pass out within seconds. Abby must have hit a nerve because she screams extremely loudly.

"Raven we almost got it. Just hang in there," Abby says in deep concentration.

Raven silently cries throughout the rest of the surgery. I don't know how long went by, but it felt like an eternity. I'm wiped out and I was just a spectator. I can't even imagine what Raven is going through. I wipe sweat off my forehead. Raven is asleep now and they got the bullet out. I turn my head and see Finn hanging his.

"She's strong," I say to him.

He sullenly nods, but I can tell somethings on his mind.

"What's up? You know you can talk to me," I say putting a hand on his shoulder.

"I know. I'm sorry for the way I acted earlier. Just... everything, the grounders, the war, Clarke missing, Raven being hurt. It's just too much," Finn says as his eyes begin to water.

I sigh and think for a minute.

"It sucks, but it's life now. I'm worried about them too," I respond.

"Grounders," Finn whispers ominously and clenches his fist.

"They're people just like us," I say.

"They're savages, animals," Finn says as tears leak out of his eyes.

"Not all of them," I whisper.

"Yes! They are!" He says in a broken voice through aggressive sniffles.

"Look, I can't say I agree with you, but your not acting like yourself. Yesterday, you were the peacemaker. Today, your out for blood? I want to help you Finny, but I can't unless you talk to me," I plead.

"Just forget it," Finn says burying his face in his hands.

"No. We're gonna find Clarke and the others. Then, my dad will come up with something and we'll make peace with the grounders. Okay?" I say.

He just sighs.

"If there's one thing these kids have, it's courage," my dad says walking up and placing a hand on my shoulder.

I put my hand on top of his.

"Dad, I need to talk to you about something," I say looking up at him.

"Alright let's take a walk," he says.

"But Raven—" I start to say.

"She'll be fine Robby," Abby says smiling at me warmly.

"Marcus, we got this," Abby says looking at my dad.

He nods and we walk outside.

"What is it you want to talk to me about?" My dad asks.

"A lot actually," I say.

"For starters, I need you to release Bellamy and let us go search for our friends," I say.

"No can do. I'm still not confident that he's not a threat," my dad says with no emotion.

"Dad, Murphy and Bellamy have history. Murphy's a murderer and they spent time trying to kill each other. Hell, we might as well take Murphy with us," I say.

"Bellamy can't wait to get back out there," my dad follows up.

"You just said you don't trust him," I say.

"No, but I trust you," he says half smiling at me.

"Then let them come with me, Finn, and the others to save our friends," I plead.

My dad let's out a long sigh.

"No. I'm sorry, but Bellamy Blake and John Murphy remain in lock up until further notice. That's my final decision," he says calmly, but sternly.

Now it's my turn to sigh.

"Fine. If the grounders torture and slaughter them then it's on you. I can't get you out of it this time," I say with pure spite.

He closes his eyes and sighs for a while. He is clearly trying to hold his tongue and not say something he'll regret. I feel bad for referring to the almost culling, but if I can get him to change his mind then I'll do whatever I can.

Before I can say anything a hand claps my shoulder.

"Hey buddy wanna go explore?" Finn says smiling at me.

"Yeah sure," I say my mood lightening instantly because Finn seems somewhat like his old self.

As soon as we walk away, he tells me to follow him in a hushed tone.

"Where are we going?" I whisper.

"To find our friends," he answers as we walk inside the Alpha station.
