They finally stopped in a pink room decorated with sparkling sequins.

"This is my main sitting room," Oralie explained. "Now, what did you want to talk about?"

"What do you think?" Sophie grumbled, "why else would I come here voluntarily?"

Oralie gave a sad smile, "I understand why you're upset, but-"

Sophie cut over her. "I don't want to hear your excuses; you know why I came here. I need that memory."

"You would do so much for Keefe, wouldn't you?' Oralie asked wistfully, "there was a time I would do that for someone too."

"Yeah, I would," Sophie began, "because he's my friend."

(A/N: That seriously needs to change soon. Keefe is literally the best.)

Oralie smiled knowingly and sat down in one of the plump armchairs, pink of course. "Before I show you the memory, I want you to listen to me."

Sophie shifted uncomfortable in the seat she had rigidly settled into. "Fine, but-" She stopped. She didn't want to go too far and change Oralie's mind about showing her the precious memory. "Just don't make it too long."

Oralie nodded, "just one thing. I want to apologize."

"Apologize?!" Sophie yelped immediately, in a rather impetuous manner.

"Yes," Oralie smoothed down her frilly dress nervously, and for the first time, it struck Sophie that Oralie might be as uncomfortable as she was. "I am not trying to replace your... To replace Edaline, but I want you to know that I care about you very much."

Sophie resisted the urge to mime gagging.

"I'm not doing this to get your love, I just want to earn your trust," Oralie reminded Sophie.

"Thanks." Sophie forced a smile and a polite tone, just wanting to get this whole experience over with.

"I know you're anxious to get started, or get this over with, but I need you to promise me something," Oralie said gently.

Sophie looked up but didn't say anything.

"Sophie?" Oralie prompted.

"Okay, what is it?" Sophie asked through her clenched jaw.

"If you need something, whenever you need something, just consider coming to me," Oralie paused, "you don't have to, but... I'm here for you."

She reached out and grabbed Sophie's hand and Sophie used all her willpower not to pull away. Which was probably why she agreed so readily to Oralie's terms.

"Okay."

Oralie smiled and her shoulders sagged in relief. "Now, shall we get started?"

Sophie nodded with anticipation, leaning forward slightly.

"Now all we have to do is figure out the password,' Oralie said, drawing out her cache from the folds of her gown.
