Sorry about the delay, I had computer problems on my laptop.
Meanwhile as Shazam Freddy was on his way back, the rest of Team Shazam and Captain Marvel were fighting for their lives against the villainous trio that started it all.
"Where the heck is Freddy?!" Mary screamed in frustration.
"There's no need to fear! Your boy has arrived!" Freddy announced as he flew right in front of Mary.
"Thank you. Thank you very much." He added with his best Elvis accent.
However, his gloating didn't last very long, for he was quickly greeted with one attempted punch to the face, by Yon-Rogg. Shazam Freddy quickly blocked it with his hand and crushed the alien's in return. As Yon-Ragg held his now injured hand, Freddy and the rest of Team Shazam couldn't help, but stare at Yon-Ragg's alien blood. He looked so much like a human, and yet the dark green alien blood dripping down the remains of his hand was a clear reminder that he was not.
Then, the moment was shattered when Dr. Sivanna attacked Freddy. He was without mercy as he uttered "You've broken my dreams once, I'm not going let either one of you guys do it again!"
"Get away from him!" Carol cried out at once as she threw a punch at him. As she hit him in the lower jaw, the evil man was sent flying to the ground.
"Alright Carol!" Team Shazam muttered in awe.
Mister Mind was flabbergasted. How could this mysterious woman defeat his ally so easily? Who was she really and how did she become so powerful? He had a lot to learn about her and he knew he couldn't defeat the group on his own now. As much as he hated to admit it, there was only one thing he could do now. As the caterpillar fled he vowed "You may have won this round, but I'll be back!"
As soon as he was gone, Carol and Team Shazam looked at each other and said "Who was that catipiler anyway?"
"Never mind that, we need to put Dr. Sivanna back in jail and we need to get myself and my arch enemy back to my world." Carol reminded the group.
With that, the group hurried back to the jail and dropped off Dr. Sivanna. As soon as they were done with that, they turned their attention back to Yon-Ragg.
"I'll keep an eye on him, you guys to figure out a way to get us back home." Carol ordered.
"And how are you going to do that?" Yon-Ragg taunted.
Carol just slapped him in the back of the head in response.
"Where are we going to find something that will help you guys go back home?" Shazam Darla questioned.
Shazam Billy thought it over for a moment before he said "Why don't we have a look in the wizard's lair?"
The rest of Team Shazam nodded their heads in agreement and soon used their powers to open a doorway to the Wizard's lair. They looked around, but for a long time, the team had difficulty finding a book. In fact, they weren't even sure that the Wizard ever kept books.
Eventually, the group heard Shazam Freddy cry out "I think I found something!"
At once, the whole group flew over to where Shazam Freddy was and found him looking over a very old scroll that wasn't in any language that the group recognized, especially not English or Spanish.
"How can we translate this thing?!" Shazam Eugene muttered in frustration.
Then, as if in response to his words, the scroll's words changed into English.
The whole group was stunned for a moment before Shazam Perdo muttered "Well, that was easy."
"That was so cool!" Both Shazam Freddy and Shazam Darla uttered at once.
"We need to focus guys." Shazam Billy reminded the group and with that, he began to read the scroll.
"When beings from another world enter our own, it can only mean one of two things. They either mean harm or they entered our world by mistake and just want to get back home."
"Well, we know that Carol just wants to go home and that Yon-Rogg got definitely doesn't mean well." Shazam Freddy remarked as the rest of the group nodded in agreement.
"But how do we get them back to their world?" Shazam Darla wondered.
"I'm getting to that." Shazam Freddy replied as he started to roll the scroll to different pages, trying to find instructions on how to send people back to their own world. Eventually, he found the right page. He needed to draw a series of runs in a circle around both Carol and Yon-Rogg, then chant a spell in Sumarian with the aid of his siblings. However, the spell could only be done at midnight under the light of a full moon.
Shazam Freddy looked at Shazam Eugene and said "Do you know if there's a full moon tonight?"
"No, and we won't know until the moon appears in the sky." Shazam Eugene stated before he added "Why would you think I would know about if there would be a full moon tonight anyway?"
"You're the smartest kid in this family." Shazam Darla stated in a matter of fact manner.
"You know we can always look online and see when the next full moon is." Shazam Mary pointed out to her siblings.
At once, almost all of Team Shazam face palmed in embarrassment that they forget that, before they took the scroll and opened the portal back to their bedroom. As soon as they entered the room, they not only found Carol there, but their parents as well!
The group realized that they weren't out of trouble yet as their Mom said "Guys, we need to talk and turn back to your normal selves."
All of Team Shazam looked at each other before all they cried out "Shazam!"
With that, lightning hit them and they were all back to normal. When they looked at their parents and Carol again, both of them were hugging each other in fear as Carol said "I know, the lighting started me too."
Freddy and Billy gaped at her when she said that and Freddy said "You looked fine to me when we first showed you what we really looked like."
"That's what happens when you become a soldier. You learn to hide your emotions, even when things are very stressful and frightening." Carol explained with a smirk.
"Anyway, we need to talk." Mr. Vaquez interjected before he changed the topic with "How long have you guys been Team Shazam for and when did you get your powers?"
Billy decided to speak up first with "I got my powers when I first came to live with you guys. I ran away from some bullies that were chasing me for stopping them from beating up Freddy…"
"What?!" Both Mr. and Mrs. Vaquez interrupted with horrified angry looks on their faces as they added "Who beat you up? What are those bully's names?! Tell us so we can sue the school!"
Thank you parental instincts. Both Billy and Freddy found themselves thinking at the same time.
Then, the boys were brought back to reality as Carol asked "So, did you guys find a spell that will send me and Yon-Rogg home?"
"Yes and what will you do to him once you head home?" Darla wondered with curiosity in her voice.
"I'll put him in jail where he belongs." Carol stated.
"As your mother and I were asking, when did you guys get your powers and how have you guys had them?" Mr. Vaquez asked in a more firm tone.
"Well, after I managed to lose the bullies in the train station, Ssmething happened." Billy recalled before he paused for a moment. Then, he continued with "The train started speeding up really fast and all kinds of strange ruins appeared on the light boards, when suddenly I was out of the train and in the middle of this strange cave."
"Was that the cave we just went to?" Darla interrupted out of curiosity.
Billy nodded his head as he continued with "I was soon greeted by the Wizard Shazam, he told me that I was chosen to have his power and be his champion. He used to be a part of a group of wizards, but their last champion betrayed them and unleashed the seven sins upon the world."
"Wait a minute. You're talking about the seven deadly seven sins right? The original seven deadly sins. That was them?" Mr. Vaquez questioned with a look of shock and horror.
"Yes." Billy answered before he continued with "Most of the wizards managed to imprison the seven sins, but at the cost of their lives. Shazam was the only survivor and spent the rest of his life looking for a champion that was pure of heart."
"You have a pure heart Billy?" Mrs. Vaquez stated as her eyes began to water.
Then she rushed over to Billy and pulled him into a hug as she uttered "I'm so proud of you Billy! I always knew you had something special when you first came into our lives."
Billy let out a sad sigh as he said "I might be a good person, but I wouldn't call myself pure of heart. I stole a cop car just to find my birth mother and I used my powers just to show off."
"So you used your powers for personal gain, at first?" Both Carol and Mrs. Vaquez said at once with the same tone of disappointment.
"Not all the time. Freddy and I did some tests on my powers and I tried to stop crime with them, but I had no real luck, until Dr. Sivana came into the picture." Billy recalled.
"How did he find you anyway and how did he learn who you really were?" Mrs. Vaquez questioned.
Suddenly, Freddy interjected with "Actually, I don't know how he found Billy, but he ended up learning who Billy was because he saw me hanging around him in both forms."
Freddy looked away in shame before he replied "I tried my best not to tell him anything, but he forced me to talk."
Looks of horror and anger quickly appeared on the faces of Carol and the Vaquezs.
"What did that monster do to you?" Mr. Vaquez whispered in a voice filled with fury.
Freddy turned away as he answered with "Somethings are better left unsaid."
Sensing that Freddy didn't want to talk anymore, Mary took over with "He forced Freddy to take us to our house. However, neither you guys nor Billy were home by the time he came. So, he called Billy to force him to come home."
"That reminds me, where did you run off too anyway on that day, Billy?" Mrs. Vaquez interrupted.
Billy averted his eyes as he answered with "I went to find my birth mother."
Looks of shock and disbelief appeared on the Vaquezs faces before Mrs. Vaquez regained her voice and asked "Did you find closure with your birth mother Billy?"
Billy was quiet for a moment before he said "I always thought she lost me at the fair, but it turns out she abandoned me and didn't want anything to do with me anymore."
He once again became quiet before he added "All this time, I've been searching for her, just so we could be a family again, when I already had one right here."
At Billy's words, all of Team Shazam and the Vaquezs smiled in gratitude and hurried over to the young boy as they all pulled him into a hug.
Then, the moment ended as Carol interjected with "Anyway, from what I was told the wicked doctor tried to force Billy to hand over his power to him, but Billy gave it to his siblings instead and destroyed the stick. Now no one can take it away from them again."
At her words, the Vaquezs were suddenly reminded of their new reality, a reality where their children had turned out to be superheroes and one of their enemies knew who they were and where they lived.
The Vaquezs were stunned into silence for a few moments before, Mrs. Vaquez asked "Can't you guys just give up your powers and go back to being normal children?"
"We can't. Billy destroyed the staff that gave us the power and even if we could, it wouldn't solve the problem of that mad doctor knowing where we live." Mary pointed out.
"We could move." Mr. Vaquez offered.
"Unless you guys decide to adopt all of us, there's no way that social services will allow you guys to take us with you." Eugene pointed out.
"How long does adoption usually take?" Darla wondered.
"It might be too late, by the time a judge will allow you guys to adopt us." Eugene added grimly.
"What should we do now?" Both Vaquezs wondered.
"You guys can come back with me to my world and be superheroes there. No one will know your secret identities there and you can all be a family." Carol offered.
"But what will happen to Phily?" Darla questioned.
"With you guys gone, I have a feeling that Dr. Sivana will give up knowing that you guys and the power that he seeks will be out of his reach forever." Carol stated before she added "Besides, you still have your Justice League to come and help this city when things are bad."
At once, the group was torn, should they remain together and flee to Carol's world or should they stay and protect their own, even though it could mean they might be separated forever?
"I can see that this isn't going to be a easy choice for you guys." Carol stated with a frown before she added "I'll tell you what, I'll give you guys until the next full moon to decide what to do, okay."
And with that, she walked out of the room to both look for a guest bed and to leave the family with their thoughts.
