Hello my lovely readers! *Looks around nervously at all the angry readers. Especially at one holding a crowbar.* I am so sorry this took so long to write and come out. 2020 has just been an exhausting year in general. So to make it all up to you, I wrote a long chapter that I hope you all enjoy. Also OMG!!!!!!!!!! 99 likes and 109 follows. Thank you all so much. Seriosuly I'm gonna cry. :'-) My stories have never gotten so many likes and follows. Just knowing that so many people like this story is what keeps me coming back to write. As a special treat, I added in a scene from another movie. If anyone can guess the scene first, will be made into a character that befriends Ember or may be a back ground character. :-) So enjoy the chapter my lovely readers!

Chapter 7 Sirens and Obstacles.

The early morning light of dawn bathed Auradon Prep in a gorgeous warm glow of sunlight. Lighting up the dorm buildings and windows in light, waking up its students to another day of school. Though there was one girl who slipped deeper into her horrible pink covers and blankets. The curtains that adorned the four post bed were closed. Yet since they were only sheer curtains, they failed to block out the sunlight. The girl tried to go back to sleep and before she got 5 more minutes of sleep, horible music began to play throughout the speakers in each dorm room. Acting as an alarm only making the girl growl in anger and the music was no better for it was classical music.

"SHUT UP ALREADY!" Ember shouted as she fired a blue fireball at the speaker located in the top left corner of her room. The fireball hit it's target with supreme accuracy that only a military sniper was capable of. The speaker burst into flame before quickly fizzling out. Leaving a charred mess and black ash spot in the top corner of her room.

Ember looked around her room before flopping back onto her bed and running her hands over her face. "So...It wasn't a nightmare after all." Ember said to herself as the events of yesterday came rushing back to her. Tears threaten to escape her eyes but Ember quickly wiped her eyes. She didn't want to cry again, she had no choice but to adapt, keep her head down and quickly finish up her time at Auradon Prep. Once she graduated, she will go back and live on the island. But for now, she decided to get ready for the horrible day ahead of her.

She quickly grabbed her phone, clothes, towel, and toothbrush before heading off to the girls shower side of the dorm. Ember was surprised to find that it was empty but she could care less. The less people around her, the better. She quickly turned the hot water on and quickly stepped into the shower. The hot spray quickly soothed her and Ember melted into the waterfall.

'Well, atleast this horrible place has one thing going for it.' Ember thought to herself. Back home in the lair, she and her family would always have to heat water up in a pot in their fireplace and then pour in into their small tub. Ember never had a problem though as she would always use her powers to heat the water up. However her father and step-mother would always refuse her help whenever they decided to bathe. Hades had claimed that he didn't want Ember to see him naked and scar her(A fact that she quickly became thankful for as she grew older) and Persephone had claimed that she didn't want to use Ember as some personal servant. So Ember was left up to use her powers only for herself.

As Ember contiued showering, she began to sing to herself. The accoustics and water made her sound like an angel or even a siren. Little did Ember know though, she wasn't alone. There was someone else in the shower area that had heard her and began to walk towards Ember's shower. As Ember reached a high note on her song, the person pulled back the shower curtains.

"You can sing too?!" The voice said, startling Ember. Ember turned back around and saw that it was Melody. "DUDE!" Ember shouted, pulling the shower curtain back but Melody only pulled it back again. "How high does your belt go?" Melody asked.

"MY WHAT?!" Ember screeched. Frankly annoyed at Melody for interupting and intruding on her. 'Seriously do any of these princesses know the meaning of boundries and privacy?!' Ember thought to herself.

"You have to audition for the choir class or even my accapella group. I need one more person and I think you would sound amazing singing with me and my group." Melody said with a smile. "I don't have to do anything nor can I barely concentrate on anything you're telling me until you cover yourself." Ember said a bit angry while avoiding eye contact with Melody.

"Seriosuly, please go away, I'm naked and quitefrankly, would like to get back to showering." Ember said turning around but Melody ignored her. "What song were you singing? It didn't sound familiar but I do like it." Melody asked with a smile. "If I tell you will you please go away? Or at the very least cover yourself?" Ember asked, causing Melody to smile and nod her head.

"It's called The Other Side of the Island. It's a song my dad and I would always sing together. Now can you please go away?" Ember asked but Melody ignored her. "Can you sing it again? Maybe I can follow along." Melody said with another big smile.

"Dude, no! Now go away." Ember said, a slight begging tone in her voice. "No way, I'm not leaving until you sing it again." Melody said. "UUUGGHHH! Fine!" Ember said groaning. Though she did smile a small smile.

"Let me introduce myself, we got some time to kill." Ember began causing Melody to smile."Consider me the pearly gates to your new favorite thrills. We could go make history or you could ignore me. But here there ain't no misery because on the other side, we live like royalty." Ember sanged, wanting to stop but Melody urged her on.

"Whatchu gonna do? Whatchu gonna do? Let your body loose, let your body loose. Whatchu gonna do? Whatchu gonna do? Show you a thing or two cause you aint seen anything. Life! is grand on the other side of the island! Life! is grand on the other side of the island. So welcome to the villianhood, where you won't be misunderstood. Life! is grand on the other side of the island." Ember sanged with even Melody chiming in on the last verse of the song. (A/N, the song here is The Other Side of Hollywood but I had to change the words. If any of you are interested in hearing the song, just look it up on YouTube. It's sung by the same Cheyenne Jackson. The same guy who played Hades in the 3rd Descendants movie.)

The two voices harmonized beautifully and even Ember had to reluctantly agree that they did sound cool. Once they had finished, Melody smiled. "We sounded amazing! I do hope you consider signing up for choir or my group." Melody said though Ember only replied "I'll think about it. Now may I please get back to showering?" Ember asked.

"Of course, I got to get ready for class anyway but I do hope you come eat lunch with me and my friends." Melody said before moving the shower curtain back in place and walking off to get ready. Leaving Ember to mull over her thoughts. 'Maybe this place won't be so bad.' Ember thought to herself as she finished showering and got ready.

She got out and quickly looked around to make sure no one else was around. Before she let her blue flames out and they quickly engulfed her naked body. However Ember did not feel pain, instead she felt warmth and safety, As if her father was near her. Though Ember couldn't help but smile at a particular memory that always surfaced whenever she would dry her body off this way.

She had been two years old and Hades had just finished bathing her and quickly got her out of the rapidly cooling water. Not wanting her to get sick he grabbed a towel, however Ember had quickly opened the door and ran out of the "bathroom" area of the lair. She ran out to the living room area with her father hot on her heals. She squeeled in happiness and conitued running, her step-mother Persephone and grandmother figure Hera would see her and start laughing. Before joining her father in giving chase to her.

It was always a memory that would put a smile on her face. Which was desperatly needed in this unfamiliar place to her. Ember quickly got dressed in super short black shorts, a plain blue T-Shirt, thigh length black leather boots, a short dark blue leather jacket and of course her locket around her neck. Ember quickly put on her signiture make-up and braided her hair. By the time she was done, it was nearly nine and half an nour had passed in the class she was suppose to be in by now. Yet Ember didn't care. She quickly put her headphones on and began playing music. She also walked back to her dorm room to grab her guitar before heading out.

Ember walked along the hallways until she came to the PE feild of the school. She could see that a giant obstacle course had been set up. Complete with rope climbing, nets to crawl under, walls to climb over and holes to jump through. Though at the end, Ember can see a tire track at the end of the obstacle course.

'Talk about over kill.' Ember thought sarcastically before she took her guitar out of its case and began to strum a nameless tune. Instantly feeling better as she became lost in its tune. However her music time was interrupted by a familiar athletic muscular boy with strawberry blonde hair.

"Hey! Ember! How are you?" Herb asked as he came up to the bleachers that Ember was sitting at. 'Great. It's wonder boy's son." Ember thought bitterally to herself but forced herself to answer him. "Fine, and you?" Ember asked, trying to show that she wasn't interested in talking to him and wanted to be left alone.

"Great, now that your here." Herb answered shyly while rubbing his neck. Though Ember ignored it. "So...what are you doing here? I'd thought you would be in class with the other VK's." Herb asked. "Haven't you heard? I got a free period all to myself." Ember said sarcastically before going back to strumming her guitar. However before Herb can say more, a female voice interrupted him.

"Ugh, what are you doing here?" Galatea asked coming over to stand besides her brother. Ember could see that she was wearing PE clothes along with Herb. "Nothing. Why do you even care?" Ember asked sarcastically. "I care because I do not want my brother to associate with you VK's. I mean you could curse him, or something!" Galatea said.

'Oh..so that's how it is, huh? Fine. If she wants curses, I'll show her curses.' Ember thought angrily to herself. However before she could summon her flames to fry this prissy prick to a chard body, someone else stopped her. "That's enough!" A strong male voice shouted. Ember looked up and saw what looked to be an older version of Herb. Though this guy was more muscular and was wearing a T-shirt and jeans along with a silver whistle. Not to mention his eyes were blue and he had a goatee on his face.

'Hercules' Ember thought angrily. She detested this guy with an absolute firey passion. After all, it was him that had nearly killed her father by punching him into the lake of souls. His godly life string would have been cut by the three fates had Persephone not shown up and fished him out. Yet he was so weak he could bearly even open his eyes. So Persephone had stayed down in the underworld for an extra month to nurse him back to health. A fact that she was extremely thankful for and gave her a whole new respect for Persephone.

"Herb, Galatea, get back to the group." Hercules said to his children before facing Ember. "I'm so sorry ms..." Hercules said before being inturpted by Ember. "Ember, Ember Phoenix. Daughter of Maleficiant, but I'm sure you already knew that." Ember said sarcastically, while trying not to growl at using her birth mother's name. However she couldn't let this bone head know that she was also the daughter of his enemy.

"Yeah, I could see that. Anyway I'm really sorry about my daughter. She's just really protective of Herb. Has been since they were both born." Hercules said before changing the subject. "Anyway, if you want to stay and watch, you can. I have to get back to my class. If you ever need anything, let me know." Hercules said before turning around and leaving.

"Yeah, I'll let you know if I ever need help killing my father.' Ember thought to herself sarcastically before packing up. She could hear Hercules teaching his class and going over the safety drills. She also heard him asking who would like to go first. However what happened next made her blood boil as she was leaving the bleachers.

"I think that freak should go first." Galatea said loud enough for Ember to hear. 'Alright! That's It!' Ember thought angrily to herself as she marched over to where the P.E. group was. "Ember, you don't have to if you don't want to." Hercules said, trying to get Ember to change her mind.

"No. It's alright, I'll go first." Ember said as she got into position on the track feild. But not before plugging her phone into the speakers located next to the P.E. feild.

"Try not to get a heat stroke in those abismal leather boots." Galatea teased though Ember only focussed on looking ahead. Hiding the smirk that grazed her face at what she was going to do. "Go!" Hercules shouted as he started his stop watch. Just as he did, Ember's playlist began to start. The song Resistance by Katana playing (A/N) I would recommend listening to Resistance by Skillet as that is the song playing as Ember begins her obstacle course)

Ember ran on the feild until she came to the first course, which were walls to jump over with the trampolines in the front. Ember jumped and flipped flawlessly over the wall, giving a full body flip as she flipped over the wall. Next came a low area with a net to crawl under. Ember dropped to the ground and crawled on her belly under the net. After she had finished, she got up and ran to a rope net and began to climp. Once she got to the top, she grabbed another rope and swung across a drop zone to another seection. She swung down and ran to another wall, except this one was taller than the first wall and had a rope on it. She grabbed the rope and began to climp. Finally she came to the tire section of the course. She quickly ran on the tire course before finally jumping in the holes on the last 3 walls in a row.

Ember ran all the way back to the group before her song ended. Everyone in the group and even Hercules looked at her in awe as he stopped the stopwatch.

"There, I went first." Ember said huffing as she looked at the group but especially at Galatea.

And I'll stop it from there. Again I am so sorry that I took so long to get this chapter out. 2020 was just an awful year in general and I had a lot going on last year. I truly hope this year will be better.
