GH4 15: Back From Trick-or-Treating.

10:00 AM

We walked down the neighborhood street, heading back for the Keeble residence after stopping at a few more houses to get more candy. Justin had managed to unlock the door to the Norman house and we all left out.

As i suspected, Justin wanted to return home right away after our visit to the abandoned Norman home, but wanting to put him back in his cheery mood, i suggested we hit a few more houses before heading back to his house. So we did.

After that, the boys' pillow cases and my pumpkin-pale were full and couldn't hold anymore candy, so we decided that now was as good a time as any to wrap up our Trick-or-Treating and head back to Justin's place.

However, as we headed back home, i couldn't shake the feeling that someone was following us. I had felt this way ever since we left the abandoned Norman home. But i figured it was all in my head. It had to be, right? Right?

Justin, Max, Olive and i soon arrived back at the Keeble residence and went up to the door where we saw a note taped to it.

"What's that?" Max asked.

Justin got the note off the door and looked at it. "It's a letter from my Dad."

"What's it say?" I asked.

"It says "Dear, Justin, i got a call from Lacey at the school to come watch her rehearse. You, Charlotte, Max, and Olive have the place to yourselves until i get back. I'll see you later. Love, Dad. Oh, and PS: Don't eat too much Halloween candy or you'll never get to sleep"." Said Justin, reading the note. "So...what do you guys wanna do?"

"I wanna make popcorn." I said.

"I wanna go through my Halloween candy and watch the horror shows." Max said.

"And make popcorn." I said.

"Yeah, to have with our candy." Max added

"Your parents let you watch scary movies, Max?" Justin asked.

"Yeah, if it's "Are You Afraid Of The Dark" or "Eerie, Indiana"." Max said.

"Those aren't movies, those are TV shows." Justin corrected.

"So? They're still scary." Max said.

"Okay. But if you have nightmares, don't blame me." Justin said.

"I won't." Max said.

"Okay. Now then...how are we gonna get inside?" I said.

"Don't worry, i have a key to the house in case my Dad isn't here and i have to let myself in." Justin said before he dug into his right pants pocket and got out the key to the house, unlocked the door, opened it, and we went inside, followed by him closing the door afterward.
...

After sitting our pillow-cases/pumpkin-pail of candy on the floor in the living-room, we came into the kitchen and were now sitting at the table, with Olive sitting in my lap and a lit Jack-o-Lantern in the center of the table. The 90s cellphone was also resting on the table.

"So why were you looking over your shoulder so much after we left the abandoned house?" Justin asked me.

"Oh, that? I just felt like someone was following us, that's all." I said.

"Probably the Boogyman." Max said.

"The Boogyman, huh?" I said.

"Yep." Max said.

"The Boogyman's not real, you know." Justin said.

"How do you know?" Max asked.

"Cause he's just make-believe, like in the movies." Justin said.

"Is that true?" Max asked.

"Yeah." I said. "So how much candy did you get?"

"I got 103 pounds." Max said.

"I got, like, 104 pounds." Justin said.

"Whoa, you guys got a lot. All i got was 100 pounds." I said.

"Justin, you can't even lift 104 pounds." Max said.

"Yes, i can." Justin argued.

"Can not." Max said.

"Can too." Justin said.

"Enough, guys. We don't need to start a fight over it, we all have a lot of candy." I said.

"Yeah." Max said.

"Okay." Justin said.

"Justin, can you grab the butter, and Max, grab the salt and turn the TV on. I'll meet you and Olive in the living-room." I said.

Justin and Max got the butter and the salt off the table, got up from the table, took them over to the counter by the stove, and placed them there before heading out of the kitchen and into the living-room.

Olive hopped out of my lap and followed after the boys.

I removed the ball gloves of my Cinderella costume and placed them on the table before i got up, went over to the pantry, opened it, and got out some Jiffy Pop popcorn. I closed the pantry door and went over to the stove and removed the paper-top and clear-wrap from the popcorn's pan, followed by placing the pan of the one of the front burners of the stove and turning on the burner it was on. I then went over to the trash and put the paper-top and the clear-wrap in the trash.

The 90s cellphone then rang and i froze, knowing who was calling. I went over to the table where the phone was lying and answered it. "Hello?"

"Charlotte...did you like being in my house tonight?" Said the voice of a little boy.

"Who is this? Bobby, is this you?" I asked.

"You're getting warm, Charlotte. Trick-or-Treat." Said the voice of the boy.

I hung up. Who was this calling me? It had to be the other ghost boy, Bobby. What other explanation could their have been? I didn't know anyone else in this time-line who could call this phone but him and Brendyn, so it had to be one of them.

I came into the living-room with the now buttered and salted popcorn in a purple plastic bowl, went over to the sofa where Justin and Max were sitting, and sat between them. They were watching some kind of Halloween film on the Disney Channel, with Olive sitting on floor.

"So what are we watchin'?" I asked.

"A Halloween movie called "Hocus Pocus"." Justin said.

"A witch Halloween movie." Max added.

"Ooh, scary." I said.

"Not that much." Justin said.

"You know what? Before we start eating this popcorn, why don't we go get out of our costumes and into our pajamas first and then we can dig into it?" I suggested.

"It'll be like a Halloween pajama party." Max said.

"Exactly." I said.

"Perfect. I have some of my pajamas and my sleepingbag upstairs in Justin's room." Max said.

"Why?" I asked.

"I asked my parents if i could spend the night here at Justin's on Halloween night yesterday and they said yes. So i brought some pajamas and my sleeping-bag over that same day." Max answered.

"Oh. Well...that makes sense...i suppose." I said.

"But i don't wanna change into my PJs just yet." Justin said.

"Why not?" I asked.

"Because i can't have my candy. I'm not allowed to eat candy before bed." Justin said.

"Yeah, same here." Max said.

"We can make an acception just for tonight." I said.

"Okay." Justin said.

"Okay. Why don't you guys go upstairs and Olive and i will be right up?" I said.

Justin and Max got up from the sofa and left out of the living-room to head upstairs to Justin's room to get changed out of their costumes and into their pajamas.

I got up from the sofa and Olive and i went out of the living-room, through the foyer, and into the kitchen where i placed the bowl of popcorn on the table. I then got the 90s cellphone along with the ball gloves of my costume, and Olive and i exited the kitchen, entering into the foyer, and we headed upstairs so i could get changed out of my costume and into my pajamas.
