Gohan and Asuka stood inside of the cathedral, in front of them was the High Ark of the region. Lightning stared down the confused boy, almost sizing him up.

"It's a pleasure to finally make your acquaintance. My name is Lightning, High Ark of the Unova region."

"It's erm nice to meet you as well. You said you've been waiting for me," Gohan asked in a timid voice.

"Yes, I have been waiting for years to have you in front of me. Has Asuka told you the reason for you being here?" Lighting asked glancing in Asuka's direction.

Asuka waved her hands and shook her head. "Oh no I didn't get into the whole prophecy or anything. I just brought him to you like you wanted."

"Prophecy? Can someone explain what's going on?"

"In order for me to do that I'll have to tell you the origin of the world. Years ago, this world was not as you see it now. War between humans and demons, and against their own kin, was driving the Spirit World into constant chaos. A man named Uzu sought to bring peace within the world. Around that time, the Spirit Orbs made their way into this world."

"This sounded like something out of a cheesy fanfiction when I first heard it," Asuka chuckled and whispered to Gohan.

"Cut it out Asuka. What if she-"

Lightning cleared her throat loud enough to get both their attention. She shot Asuka a glare, challenging her to make light of the situation again. Asuka bowed slowly, in a means to apologize.

"What are these Spirit Orbs and what did Uzu plan to do with these," Gohan asked.

"No one is quite sure where they originated from. One might say they came from the Goddess herself. Their origin is still unknown. In any case, all seven were upon Uzu, and they held immense power. That power attracted demons and humans alike. Uzu traveled the world to find six others who shared his ideals. That is when he decided to form the Guardians, six people handpicked by him to protect the world. Tai, Sendo, Mokoju, Ingred, Paragus, along with his son Broly, and Goku."

"I counted eight Guardians, but you said that there's seven." Asuka pointed out.

"Paragus insisted that if anything were to happen to him, his son Broly would replace him."

"Seven Guardians and one trainee then."

"Correct. Broly and Goku, those two names are highly important Gohan."

Gohan broke out into a cold sweat upon hearing that. He didn't quite understand everything that was being said to him, but he knew that what Lightning said would leave a profound impact on him.

"Goku and Paragus belonged to a special race called the Saiyans," Lightning continued. "Strong warriors capable of protecting or destroying whatever they wanted. A Saiyan's only thought is to grow stronger and stronger, sometimes at any cost. With the orbs being unused and just protected, they thought such a great power source was going to waste."

"What do you think their intentions were? World domination, or maybe they were looking for peace." Gohan wondered.

"The Saiyans are battle hardened warriors who look for the next fight, hungry for power. It's a blur whether they truly wanted to change the world for the better, or to bring destruction upon it. Maybe spawn a horde of demons so they can grow stronger. Whatever the reason is, they brought their desires to the Guardians. When it was revoked by Uzu, they launched a rebellion against them. Now it was unclear whether Paragus had any influence in their decision to revolt, but it was a war between the Guardians and Saiyans."

"So Broly, Paragus, and Goku, they ended up destroying the Saiyan race..." Gohan said solemnly.

"A decision had to be made. When fighting for peace, ties need to be cut in order to reach the end. In this case, it was the annihilation of the Saiyans. All eight of them fought to cease the coup the Saiyans would have plotted. Years had passed after the war, and a rift grew between the Guardians, especially with Paragus."

"I bet he was the one that got the Saiyans to start that war in the first place. Did he want to use the orbs for himself," Asuka asked.

"He wanted to use their power of course. The orbs themselves hold tremendous power and their origin was never clear. Uzu did not want to take any risks with things that weren't clear to him. Maybe it was his indecisiveness that created a wedge between them. That indecisiveness is what grew Paragus to take them for himself. He renounced his status and used his orb to fight against them, along with his son."

"What was the outcome?" Gohan asked in anticipation.

"Broly held tremendous power. Stronger than his father, powerful enough to become Guardian. Those two killed the remnants of everything they were striving to protect. Goku was the remaining warrior. He alone defeated Paragus and Broly. The world was thrown into chaos upon news of their deaths. Demons and bandits became frequent among the people. Nobody feel safe, secure, or protected. For nearly two years Goku wandered the world fighting humans and demons. Of course with him being the only defender, he was a primary target. He worked to put everyone's mind at ease, to let them know that there's still hope."

"How did that go?" Asuka asked.

"People gained faith, and people lost faith. The weight of the world rested on his shoulders, and it was too much for him to bear. That's when he had an idea. He scattered all the orbs to different locations across the world. The last orb which he'd been protecting, he infused within himself and became this world's crescent blue moon."

"He became the moon? Why did he do that?" Asuka asked.

"Now I'll tell you another tale. Long ago there was a goddess named Crescona, the overseer of the world. As I would imagine, you two have a moon in your world as well yes?"

Asuka and Gohan both nodded.

"In our world a goddess resides over the moon. It was said she blessed humans who pray to her at night. Fortune, bountiful harvests, strength. They worshipped her. One night however, the moon did not show itself. The people panicked, believing their goddess abandoned them. Nobody knew the reason why though. Goku's reason..."

"He wanted to bring the people that same hope." Gohan chimed in. "The moon wasn't with them anymore, so Goku became somewhat of a God figure in her stead. I see now... So where do I fit into all this?"

"There was a prophecy depicting of two people walking two different paths. One will eventually destroy this world. The other will save the world. Also, those same two people hold power both reminiscent of Goku and Broly. They are both descendants of great Saiyans. You Gohan, are the descendant of the savior Goku."

"So I'm a Saiyan by blood I see... and if that prophecy is correct, then that means they're still Saiyans in this world. Someone is a descendant of Broly."

"Maybe some fled, others may have sided with the Guardian's way and did not participate. Whatever the case may be, the battle between Goku and Broly continues with you and his descendant."

Gohan closed his eyes and breathed a heavy sigh.

"This is too much to take in I'm sure. You should've been aware of this information years ago, however your parents were very secretive about this."

Gohan's eyes suddenly flashed open at the mention of his parents.

"Wait a minute, they knew all along about this prophecy?"

"Your mother was against it, while your father wanted to tell you at an acceptable age."

"You're damn right and I wanted it to stay a secret!"

Chi Chi and Fuji charged into the throne room. She placed one hand on her hip and the other pointed straight at Lightning.

"Explain yourself Claire! Why did you bring my son here?!"

"I don't possess the power to travel to your world. I simply asked for assistance in bringing him."

"Assistance? YOU!" Chi Chi's finger was now in Asuka's face.

Asuka waved her hands back and forth trying to defend herself.

"Woah woah woah I didn't know what was going on either. All I knew was that it involved Gohan. I really didn't' wanna leave my school and friends behind for all this but my mom said she owed a debt to Lightning. That's all I know!"

Fuji put a hand on his wife's shoulder. "Calm down honey. This is nobody's fault. We really couldn't keep this a secret for long. If our son wields such power, wouldn't be wrong for us to keep it hidden from him?"

Fuji and Chi Chi both looked at Gohan. He quickly got over his shock in seeing his parents. He instead was contemplating all the information that was given to him. Gohan closed his eyes and thought silently to himself.

I've been brought to a world different from mine. Demons, Saiyans, and Gods are also apart of this world. I seem to be the descendant of someone named Goku, who saved the world years ago. That makes him my ancestor, regardless of us both coming from different worlds. A prophecy said that one will save the world and other will destroy the world. I was brought here to save this world…

"My son can't even think straight! I've tried so hard for him not to be associated with this world! I don't care what this prophecy or whatever says my son should do! I mean look at him!" Chi Chi presented Gohan as if he was a trophy on display. His eyes were still closed, weighing out his options.

"I've explained everything as best I could to Gohan." Lightning said countering Chi Chi's brash tone. "He inherits Goku's power and can become a great asset to this world."

"Are you speaking of the world or for bettering your position of this region?"

Lightning didn't retort to that assertion. She sat calmy on her throne not breaking eye contact with Chi Chi. Both were locked in an intense staredown. Fuji and Asuka felt the pressure both women were emitting, and couldn't find the right time to try and diffuse both women.

"I'll do it."

Lightning, Asuka, Chi Chi, and Fuji all looked at Gohan. He opened his eyes with new determination within them.

"No no NO! I couldn't bear the thought of something happening to you out there!" Chi Chi interjected. "Do you know what kind of foul beasts and humans and animals and demons and-"

"Mom."

Chi Chi stopped mid-sentence and looked at her son.

"I was unhappy for a long time. I didn't have the power to change the outcome of my situation, and I became a burden to myself and to others. I've always wanted power, and that power can make things possible that words couldn't. Asuka coming to Tokyo, to my school, has changed me this past month. If not for her, I probably would've given up." Gohan looked over in Asuka's direction and smiled. She blushed and gave a slight thumbs up.

"Seeing you two here came as a shock as well. How long have you both known about this world?"

"For years Gohan, before you were born." Fuji answered. Same as Asuka's parents. When we were told of the prophecy, me and your mother were both skeptical in deciding whether to have you or not. But ya know one thing led to another hehehe so I- AHHHHH!"

Chi Chi's punch to the ribs had him sprawled onto the floor.

"What your ridiculous father was trying to say is that we were indecisive whether we wanted to have a child. When you were born, we were both worried whether to tell you about this world or not. That's when I decided to tell you when I felt you were ready."

"Let's not beat around the bush Chi Chi, you never planned on telling him about any of this. That's why I enlisted Juna's help." Lightning intervened.

"That wasn't your call to make!"

"You're right, it's your son's decision overall. So Gohan, what'll it be?"

"I accept this offer. I'll find the orbs that Goku left for us, and I'll defeat whoever the other Saiyan is."

"That's my boy," Fuji said slowly getting to his feet. "In preparation for this, me and your mother planned something for you. You'll receive it after you've completed your training though."

"My training? You mean with Asuka?"

"You'll need additional training. Not only in martial arts, but in spirit energy."

"I've already made the necessary arrangements," Lightning said. Your martial arts instructor should be ogling women right about now at club Nova."

"Him?!" Asuka exclaimed. "I'm still not sure he's mentor worthy. He's also a huge pervert."

"Indeed he is. He was also Goku's master. Even at his age, he still holds an excessive amount of strength. He's agreed to give us his full cooperation in training Gohan. Now as for his spirit energy training, I've asked Hope to oversee that."

"Speaking of Hope, where is he?"

"I've sent him out with Gazelle to run an errand for me. He'll be brought up to speed once he returns. Now, go seek out your master Gohan. I'm giving you two months. One for your martial arts, and one for your spirit energy. Is that much time enough for you?"

"That's fine by me. Mind leading the way Asuka?"

"If you insist." Asuka left the cathedral first. Gohan followed, but then stopped and looked back at his parents.

"You don't have to worry too much mom and dad. I'm going to gain a lot of power, power to protect myself and others. With the strength of Goku, this shouldn't be a problem right?"

"You better not let this interfere with your schoolwork ya hear me?" Chi Chi said putting her hands on her hips.

"Of course. Studies come first hahaha." Gohan smiled, then ran after Asuka.

"Even so, a parent can't help but worry…" Chi Chi said to herself.

"We still got some work to do before he completes his training. I still have to work on his sword with Hope, and you need to finish sowing his gi."

"Alright fine. What have we gotten ourselves into… YOU!" She points back at Lightning. "Do NOT let anything happen to my Gohan!"

"I'll make to sure to guide him in the right direction."

"That's all I can hope from you is there? Better than nothing I guess."

Chi Chi and Fuji left afterward. Lightning was the only one left in the giant cathedral. She sighed, then put her hand on her cheek.

A mother's intuition is frightening. Nevertheless, I will need Gohan's power if I want to sway the other nations. If I have to exploit Goku's descendant to do that, then so be it.

"Tell me why again a martial arts master would be at a club," Gohan asked following Asuka through the streets of Yusnaan.

"Because he's an old perv who hasn't grown out of his pervy ways. Makes me sick."

"He can't be all that bad. I wonder what kind of man he-"

Almost on cue, an elderly man with a white long mustache and sunglasses was thrown out on his back by someone twice his size dressed in all black.

"You're now official banned you perverted asshole. Be grateful we didn't call the authorities for sexual assault. And take your stupid stick with you!" That stick landed right on the elder's head.

"You wouldn't be treating me like this if I was 30 years younger!" The old man dusts himself off, grabs his walking stick and adjusts his glasses.

"Yeah yeah just don't bring your sorry ass back in here." The man walks back inside the club.

"What rotten luck. I was the one who caught her when she fell off the stage, and this is the thanks I get? I just helped myself to a little reward is all. Why I never!"

"Roshi!" Asuka called his name in an exasperated tone.

"Oh my if it isn't my dear Asuka. What do I owe the pleasure?"

"I've found him. Goku's descendant."

Master Roshi's demeanor grew serious at that news. He looked to the confused boy up and down.

"Hello sir." Gohan bowed to the elder in respect. "I was told you were Goku's master all those years ago. My name is Gohan, and I hope for you to train me as well so I can take his place."

Master Roshi turned his back to them and stroked his beard. After giving it a lot of thought, he faced them once more.

"No."

"WHAT?!"

Claire has always been known to keep secrets. She wouldn't lie, but she never did tell the truth, at least not the complete truth. I tried so hard to keep this all a secret. Now all I can do is support my son while he fights everything that's in this crazy world. Why am I getting a bad feeling about all this… Chi Chi
