Natsu cried out at the pain in his head, frustrated beyond measure that he couldn't make up his own mind. He felt rage surge through his veins like pure adrenaline. His pupils dilated and he could feel his bones begin to crack.
The scales that wrapped around his body began to multiply, spreading across the entirety of his body. His claws sharpened and his body was forced into something he's never felt before. Natsu transformed into a massive crimson dragon.
The smoke dissipated around him as his golden eyes fixated themselves on Wendy. She seemed to have fallen backwards, still clutching her arm in pain as Natsu roared. He gave one, powerful whip of his tail to push Gray aside before he dealt his surprise attack.
Erza was still on the ground, struggling to get up as the pain in her body was too severe. She had never been knocked down so easily like this, but Natsu's power was unlike anyone she'd ever fought in the past. Her eyes settled on her friends who came to their aid, trying their best to take down Natsu together.
The dragon roared filling up the vicinity with an intense blaze that was enough to separate everyone from him. The circle of flames was great, but the only person in the middle besides Natsu was Wendy. She clutched her arm, eyes sharp against the embers of fire. She had determination in her gaze as she stepped forward to the hulking monster that used to be Natsu.
The dragon flared its nostrils, pulling its neck back as it eyed the small, blue-haired girl. He opened his mouth as if to set her of fire, but, before he could even begin, he noticed the way she fell to her knees.
She looked up at him, eyes filled with misty tears as she began to speak. "Natsu."
"You don't have to be this way," she slowly began, her words quaking as they trailed past her lips. She took a single step closer, watching as the dragon reacted to how close she was getting. "You... don't have to hurt anyone anymore..." her voice shook lightly, reaching a hand out and pressing her palm on his scaled arm.
That touch made his eyes widen and his heart pound. He stared down at the girl and clutched the ground with his clawed foot. His brow furrowed and he nearly swiped his tail at her if it weren't for the look of desperation in her eyes.
"Please... I beg you... from the bottom of my heart, Natsu, please come back to me." she began.
"I've missed you so much... You're all I think about... and I know you are still the same Natsu I... I fell in love with," she finally admitted, looking down now. Her hand slowly slipped down his scaled skin before it fell next to her side. She felt like she wasn't going to win this fight...
The dragon's gaze kept its focus on her. Steam slowly began to seep off of Natsu's skin, "Wendy..." the creature breathed out before he slowly began to transition back into his human form.
The flames around them slowly died down to mere embers.
It was only then when the rest of the guild members ran up to see Natsu back into his human form— their eyes wide.
"Wendy..." the voice repeated, but it was much softer this time. A hand extending outwards towards the girl and resting on her shoulder. "I'm sorry... for everything I've done," he muttered.
Wendy's eyes widened when she felt the contact, her gaze turning upwards towards Natsu.
He looked beaten, even though he felt as if he could have destroyed everything in his path. He didn't feel that way at this very moment. At this moment... Wendy was all that was on his heart.
His eyes settled on her charred arm, a frown appearing on his countenance. He felt terrible for doing that to her... it made his heart ache. He looked away, hanging his head as he apologized again under his breath. Wendy shook her head, wincing as she slowly dragged the palm of her hand down her burn scar.
There was a light blue glue emanating from her hand, causing the burn to slowly heal. She winced again, feeling a strange sensation on her arm from her healing magic, but, it wasn't long until the pain faded away. The scar wasn't entirely gone right away, but it didn't hurt anymore.
Wendy looked back up at Natsu and slowly moved forward, she extended both of her arms and embraced him. She buried her face within his chest, feeling tears stream from the corner of her eyes. She could finally hear Natsu's heartbeat... after all this time of missing him.
As she quietly cried, Natsu slowly tipped her chin up to look at him. He then leaned in and pressed a kiss to her lips. It was soft and gentle—almost apprehensive. He didn't want to make Wendy upset, but he always wanted her to know how much he loved her too.
She didn't pull away, in fact, she closed her eyes and returned the kiss. Her heart fluttered and she felt even more tears spill from her eyes. She couldn't believe that this was actually happening. She never thought she'd feel his lips against hers... She never thought she'd ever even see Natsu again after all this.
