Dumbledore was in his office and jumped with fright as his floo went off. He hadn't been expecting a call from anyone at this late hour. He glanced down and saw that it was Molly Weasley and she looked disgusted about something. If anyone was to be looking disgusted right now it was him. I mean she had the cheek to call him of all people this late at night. I swear to merlin this better be amazing he sneered to himself rising from the chair he had been sitting in. Albus please come through to my house we need to have a serious discussion at once. It really would be easier to explain in person! She called out and he nodded once and she removed herself from the fireplace. He waited a while to give her enough time to get up again although he didn't really want to do that and grabbed some floo powder. He emerged from their home fireplace looking around in awe. It was not indeed what he would have thought he'd find in their home. It was tastefully decorated and homely something his own childhood home hadn't been because for some reason his parents had thought it might frighten Arianna or something stupid like that. He straightened up dusting off his robes for a moment to allow him to gather his thoughts.

"Ok Molly here I am and you have my undivided attention but I don't think I need to tell you that this had better be major since you called me here at night no less!" he said as she looked ashamed and he smiled internally. It was as it should be. His minions did everything he told them to without questioning him once. He preferred it that way. Usually if they did ask him why they were doing something they always accepted whatever answer he had made up at the time.

"Yes Albus I know that and usually I wouldn't but Hermione is here now. Astrid Black kicked her out of the house!" she said sounding scandalised as he entered the kitchen to see Hermione blushing in Ron's direction and looking like she'd just stopped crying.

"Miss Granger please tell me what happened and why Miss Black threw you out of her residence!" he commanded as Hermione jumped from not having seen him when he entered.

"Well sir when I told Astrid that she should allow you to have instant access to her house no matter what based solely on who you are she tried to curse me. I told her she was outrageous for giving you conditions to using her house. You are the leader of the light and shouldn't even have to ask for things to get them. Then when you do ask you should get them without question. Had it been my home you would have gotten it without question sir and I truly need you to understand that. She's gone dark sir!" she said shedding some more tears before continuing.

"She then kicked me out of the house. I tried to ask her several times to have Ron over but she said no. He's my best friend and I truly don't understand why I couldn't just have him with me. Why did she have to always say no? She kept going on about it being her house and that she could do whatever she wanted with it. You're the leader of the light and you should get anything you ask for without question shouldn't you sir?" she asked proudly as he pinched the bridge of his nose in annoyance.

"Miss Granger it was not wise to order her to do that when you were in the home yourself. The smarter person would have waited to voice their opinions until they were heading to school and no longer in the house or something but you did not and it is for this reason you are here. Sometimes this Gryffindor trait in us can be a curse. You may be surprised to hear me ever say this Miss Granger but sometimes cunning is necessary to get further in life. I knew Miss Black was dark when I laid eyes on her. I will be keeping a watch out for her have no doubt about that. Next time though don't open your mouth in a stupid way where someone could curse you. You are lucky she did not succeed and that is all I will say on the matter!" he snapped as she looked shocked and disappointed in not only him but herself as well. He'd need to work on that. There was no way in hell she should ever look disappointed in him. If anyone ever got to look disappointed in others it was him and not anyone else.

"I hardly think what she said was truly unwarranted do you? I mean look at it from her point of view. She's come here from Paris and inherited many things and suddenly she's expected to give up her home for me. Bear in mind she doesn't know me all that well. You are right of course about her being dark. Next time think before you speak. Molly do you even have room here for her now?" he asked as Molly bristled.

"Well although now seriously isn't the time she'll have to bunk in with Ron for the night. We can figure out something more permanent tomorrow. Be sure you two that whatever happens, happens safely. I was young once too and so it would be improper for me to lecture you on it. I don't want to be a grandmother though for at least the next three or so years ok?" she asked addressing a blushing Hermione and Ron. Dumbledore thanked her and left again.

In his office he brooded. She should have as Hermione had said given him what he asked for no questions asked based solely on who he was. Alas she did not and that made her dark in his book. No one ever gave him the light leader conditions of all things. If anyone handed out conditions usually it was him. Also someone that young should never be allowed to have a home of their own which he cannot monitor. You never know what they could be doing in it. He decided to allow Pandora access to the order and from there he would monitor Miss Black and see just how dark she had truly gone. It was a sad day when someone so young was that dark already. Hermione could be a fool from time to time sure but did that deserve her being cursed? He seriously didn't think so. Actually now that he thought about it a light cursing from time to time to teach her a lesson wouldn't be a bad idea but he would never actually do anything dark to her and that was the whole point. It was the fact that he would never or rarely ever use dark spells which made him so light.

At home Astrid was looking at her mother when she thought about something. "Mum I know it's going to sound silly but I've only just realised I don't need to continue to hold onto feelings and things Harry had. He's dead now and so everything about him will die from now on. In future if anyone bad mouths him I'm not going to be rash and act immediately, as he would have done that and as I am not him I will never do it. I will train myself not to. If I should forget before we go to school and you see it you must remind me of it all the time!" she said delighted that she no longer needed glasses and didn't have an ugly scar on her forehead any longer. It was somehow freeing to let go of everything and just be. She had decided she would write everything that had ever bothered or upset Harry onto some parchment pieces in the future. She would make sure to truly express herself as Harry would have there and then burn them therefore releasing all the negativity out into the world instead of harbouring it like a fool.

"You are quite ok Astrid dear. It took me ages to forget I wasn't Sirius too. We just changed our lives a while back and it's not surprising you would take time to adjust to that like I did. Tell me, what do you think of quidditch?" she asked and Astrid could see what she was trying to do. If she were still thinking like Harry she'd be super enthusiastic about it now alas she wasn't Harry and therefore her answer was indeed very different then it would have been had he answered that question.

"I love watching quidditch and I do indeed support the Holyhead Harpies but I have no desire whatsoever to play quidditch. I'll leave that to those who are good at it. Harry was an amazing player and I am happy I got that experience but now it will be good to just relax back and watch it. To be honest I am determined to earn as much house points as I can this year. I have a copy of the school charter and school rules and I intend to read them thoroughly. Harry never did this and he was told he broke many rules he knew nothing at all about. That will not be happening with me! I will be as prepared as I can so no one thinks they can take the piss out of me. Besides which not everyone reads them so I will have the upper hand for sure" she said removing a book of school rules the founders had written which had been updated two hundred years ago and not since changed.

It said you could have your own sword if you liked so long as you kept it on your person at all times. You were allowed your own familiar if you had one and no one could forbid him or her from being in all of your classes with you. No staff member was allowed to teach without the right teaching qualifications and if one was there he or she could not remove points and would only remain until an actual qualified teacher could be found. If men chose to wear heeled buckled shoes they could do so except for when they were duelling. These rules were very old and in some cases archaic but she did like them. She fully intended to have her own sword and familiar if she could find one. Once Harry had died Hedwig had flown away and never returned considering her master was no longer alive. She hadn't seen the point of remaining there.

She woke up the next morning and left for the bank entering it regally and approached a teller. "Good morning good teller and may your enemies blood pool at your feet after a glorious defeat!" she said as he gasped and looked up at her.

"Good morning heir Black and may your vaults overflow with gold. How may we help you this morning?" he asked as she smiled.

"I wish to commission the goblin nation to make a custom katana with a Ruby, Emerald, Citrine and Sapphire stone in the handle which is to be made of marble and dragon hide. The blade is to be made of goblin steel and imbibed with every power you here possess. Along it, it should contain the name of Astrid Black in whatever font you like!" she said as he gasped in awe.

"Why? I am sure you could just buy one from the smiths in the alley!" he said interested.

"Of course I know I could but I want the best and I will settle for nothing less. Let's not shit ourselves here we both know his work will never remotely compare to yours or that of the nations. How much will it cost?" she asked as he brought her into a side office whereupon he had her hold various types of katana until she found one which was the right size for her. They agreed on a price of ten thousand galleons and it was to be made in the form of a chunky bracelet. When you pushed upwards with your thumb on the bracelet it would release the katana at once into your outstretched hand. To put the sword away again you need only tap twice on the scabbard tip with your finger and it would go back to bracelet form. It was designed to recognise only her fingerprints and blood. She was super excited about it.

She returned in five hours after fully reading all of the rules and charter of the school to get her new sword and was amazed by it. It shot out of the bracelet into her hand immediately and when she tapped on it twice with her finger it disappeared again just as fast. She was amazed. With one last trip to the pet shop she moved around the isles waiting and listening for a familiar and was very sad indeed when one didn't appear. She slipped into Knockturn Alley and found a pet shop there whereupon she almost instantly found her familiar and squealed with joy. It was a leopard print Savannah cat and was much larger than an ordinary cat. At least one size larger. She smiled then and chose the name Lyra for her.

Lyra really liked her name and thanked Astrid for choosing it. It would seem Lyra was a sarcastic smart arse and Astrid loved it. Harry wouldn't have and that's what actually made all the difference. He would have found the cat an annoyance and something else to grind his gears. She however found it highly amusing. She returned home just as the members of the order were coming from the same floo and smirked. She dusted herself off and smiled at them all.

"Welcome everyone. I am more than happy to let you all use my home for your meetings. Should you need anything to eat or drink please ask Kreacher to get it for you!" she said kindly as Molly bristled. She was evil and damn right Molly knew it. She would do all in her power to prove it too. No matter what that little bitch was going down one way or another. She didn't usually feel so strongly about these things but she had tried to curse Hermione Granger of all people. Hermione was about as light as you can go without becoming Dumbledore yourself.

"Not in my lifetime. I am the one who makes the dinner here not some house elf!" she sneered as Astrid smirked.

"Well he is the only one with access to the pantry so good luck there. Look just take a break and allow him to help you out. Clearly you need it!" she said in a soothing way as Andromeda came from the floo then.

Molly saw Andromeda and gasped really loudly. Was Albus seriously going to let that Black woman join the order? Surely not.

"Ah Andromeda right this way please. I'll see you later on Mrs Weasley!" she said leading Andromeda upstairs to the music room where the others were. Ted and Nymphadora had arrived earlier on. Draco and Narcissa were inside both having a drink. Astrid quickly popped to her room to get ready and deposit Lyra. She wore a tea length flowing midnight blue dress with silver heels and had a face of light makeup on her. Pandora was at the meeting downstairs and would join them when it was done. Astrid entered the room Draco gasping audibly at her beauty. She noticed this and smirked. Not in my lifetime buddy! She thought with slight distain. She joined them at the bar where Kreacher was serving drinks.

She had a glass of champagne and danced with Ted as he had asked her too. He was a wonderful dancer and very friendly. She could see why her auntie had chosen him. As they swayed around the dance floor they talked about everything they could. He thanked her for having one of the best get-togethers he'd ever been at. Draco sneered slightly at that and jumped as Astrid shot him an exceptionally dark scowl. How dare he treat Ted badly? He was a guest in her home and would do well to remember that. Draco danced with Nymphadora but really what he wanted was to dance with Astrid. She knew she couldn't avoid him all night though as it would make her a poor host.

Downstairs the meeting got underway as Albus entered the new and improved kitchen gasping at it. It looked far more like a home now and he was annoyed that it was purposefully done this way to make him feel as though he was imposing which he would never do.

"Welcome everyone to our next meeting of the order. I wish to introduce a new member Miss Pandora Black. Her daughter Astrid Black will be attending our school this year. We are thankful that Miss Black junior has permitted us use of her home. Now Miss Black I must ask you to explain your daughters actions when she cursed Miss Hermione Granger last night?" he commanded as she internally rolled her eyes.

"I am afraid I do not know. It is Astrid's home and I would never presume to tell her how to run her own home or what she can or indeed cannot do in it. It wouldn't be right for me to do that. I have no idea why she did that but would not have if it was not warranted. Miss Granger did bad mouth Harry and Cousin Sirius a lot and it was very distressing for me. I am still very saddened at their deaths and I didn't need to hear that all the time. Maybe she was cursed for this reason. I assure you I do not know!" she said as everyone there groaned slightly.

"Albus Miss Granger can be very dense at times. I know that from talking to her. If she had spoken ill of the dead around me I might have been tempted to curse her myself. I love Hermione sir but she truly doesn't think at all before speaking sometimes. Even if Harry and Sirius were reckless it is never acceptable to speak ill of the dead!" Shacklebolt said in fury as Dumbledore reeled when everyone else agreed with him. How could he convince his order that she was dark now? Weren't they supposed to just agree? This would need some work for sure.

"Kingsley I understand she was wrong but what light person just goes automatically to cursing someone?" he asked as everyone thought about it.

"Someone who is deeply hurt and grieving sir. I am a Gryffindor graduate myself and even I am not that stupid. Sometimes saying what you think and feel all the time no matter what it might be is not a good idea especially when someone is grieving. If someone insulted Sirius right now hell even I might curse them for being so insensitive and I'm not even dark" Remus said as others agreed with him making Albus furious. Screw you Remus! He thought bitterly. One way or another they would realise she was dark and he would not be there when they did the blasted fools.

"Well either way cursing someone stupid is never the answer. Don't look at me like that Molly you know it was stupid of her to badmouth the two fools who died. If we had maybe allowed Harry some more freedom he might not have died. Sirius didn't matter and anyone who says otherwise is not a smart man!" he said glaring pointedly at Remus who looked stunned.

"You know Albus he might have been my best friend but yes he was a fool and there is no reason to look at me like that. If he had been smarter and not spent most of his life in jail for something he didn't do he might have been sane but he didn't and he wasn't sane at all. I am so angry at him for dying. I am grieving and it hurts that he was so stupid. I mean Ice cream really!" Remus snapped banging his hand on the table as angry tears poured from his eyes. Pandora looked at him as though finally seeing him for what he truly was. It was like a slap in the face. Like Astrid however she'd need to leave all of Sirius' thoughts behind. He had been stupid and even she could see it if one thought he died the way they had said he did. Albus himself was stunned.

"So Miss Black tell us a bit more about yourself then. It must have been hard to be a single parent. Was Astrid ok after the death of her father Pollux? It must have been so hard to raise her on your own. Do you not think it might be best if you found a new husband now? I mean times are tough and it really is better not to be alone at this time. I am only saying this for your own benefit!" he said as everyone awaited her response.

"You are right Albus. I have thought of that myself. I mean even I can see being alone in these times is not good" she responded calmly.

"But who will you marry he would need to be light of course. I mean this is a light organisation and it wouldn't do for Astrid to have a dark step father!" he said seriously as she reeled in rage.

"Well Albus when I find the right man for me I will let you know. Hell it could even be Mr Lupin here. He is after all very handsome!" she said to which Remus gasped and deeply blushed. I mean she was divine and that she was saying this about him at all was amazing. He finally remembered where he was and closed his mouth as she giggled at him.

"Oh Mr Lupin you are funny. Well Albus do you think Mr Lupin would be a good idea?" she pushed as she knew Albus secretly hated that the werewolf was being included at all. He looked physically sick.

"Yes if that is your choice. Even I could never say he is dark!" he said as they moved on around the table getting different bits of news. Upstairs Astrid was now dancing with Draco who smelled divine.

"Draco what Perfume are you wearing it smells wonderful?" she asked him huskily as he hardened considerably at her tone of voice.

"Well Astrid it's a perfume which has some amortentia in tiny amounts in it. It is supposed to smell like what attracts us the most. What do you smell in it?" he asked as she smiled.

"I smell Lemon cheesecake, sandalwood, frankincense, champagne and pasta. It smells heavenly. You shouldn't wear this though as it is confusing for me! What do you smell in your amortentia?" she chided slightly as he decided to be bold for once.

"Astrid do you have a marriage contract? Well I smell honey, chocolate, citrus, champagne and lavender" he said as she spluttered.

"Do you kiss your mother with that mouth? Of course I don't. My mother would never curse me like that. I am free to choose who I love and marry in the future and you should be too!" she said as he proclaimed that he was.

"I wondered if you could help me out. You're divine and I've been given a list of purebloods it would be appropriate to marry but I need help choosing the right one. You seem like the clever kind of girl who could help me choose. You should know of course that if I didn't have this list I would choose you every time!" he replied as she rolled her eyes to heaven. Now was not the time for that nor was it though the time to be thinking like Harry. Forgetting Harry for a moment she stopped to think of what she truly thought of Draco herself and smiled. He was indeed very good looking and she'd be a fool to try and even deny it.

They went to the corner and sat down as he produced the list which she read.

Padma Patil

Parvati Patil

Susan Bones

Hannah Abbott

Lisa Turpin

Cho Chang

Astoria Greengrass

Daphne Greengrass

Millicent Bulstrode

She read the list giggling at some of the names on there. "Well Draco I would advise you to look at it carefully and read each name. Tell me which names excite you the most" she said as he took it in his hands and began reading it.

"I am very excited by Susan Bones, Hannah Abbott and Daphne Greengrass. Oh who should I choose?" he asked sounding tired.

"Personally if I was looking to further improve my social standing and others views of me I would select Susan Bones but that's just me. You do what makes you feel right. Also I must ask you what your opinion on the other houses is. I have asked Hermione Granger who used to live here until she tried to curse me in my own home yesterday. Let's just say she forgot that she was only here because I am good woman. I want to know what you think because her opinion was not what I had expected at all" she asked as he looked confused.

"I didn't realise that about her. I am sorry she did that to you. As for me you will never hear me say that my house is the best one as that is what stupid people say. Each house of Hogwarts has two traits associated. I am a Slytherin member and our traits are ambition and cunning. Ravenclaw has the traits of knowledge and wit. Gryffindor has the traits of bravery and chivalry. Hufflepuff has the traits of loyalty and hard work" he responded as she smiled at his controlled answer.

"That is indeed good to know but I was wondering what you personally think of each house" she said again taking another sip of her champagne and sitting back comfortably to watch him while he answered.

"Ok I shall tell you what I think. For me it depends on how the different houses do the same things. For example Ravenclaws often think before they leap something the Gryffindor's need help with. Imagine for example that you were in a house with someone who always complains, eats like a pig and has no brain such as my friends Crabbe and Goyle of Slytherin or Ronald Weasley of Gryffindor and everyone judged you based on that. Wouldn't that be awful?" he said pausing for effect.

"I hate Gryffindor but not just because of Ronald. I hate it because no one in that house uses the brains they have. Take Granger for example. She is so into learning everything and being right all the time that she often gets it all wrong. I am not saying she means to do this but it does happen. If Gryffindors spent more time on thinking about how to phrase whatever they want to say it would be great but they don't. They have all the tact of an elephant running in a small room" he said pausing to take a drink and smiling. She was incredibly easy to talk to and it was lovely that she didn't judge him. He could finally and fully express himself without judgement.

"Also I don't hate every Weasley. You see there are two twins called Fred and George Weasley who are rather cunning and resourceful. I would never tell them this however as they would probably find it insulting or something silly like that. They do pranks and almost no one anywhere knows how they do it. I know what their secret is but I will never tell them I know. If you are kind to a house elf they will do almost anything you ask them to. My late father could have done with knowing that one. Because he was vile to almost all of his elves they didn't help him properly when he needed it. He died the other day at the hands of the dark lord for defying him. I am now the new Lord Malfoy and things will be changing for sure. How are you finding being the new Lady Potter?" he asked as she smiled at him.

"Well right now it has been an adjustment for sure. I have yet to go the Manor and check it out but I will someday. Actually for the purposes of ease I am thinking of changing the name of the manor from Potter Manor to something else. I am not sure what that will be yet. I hope you have learned a lesson from what happened to your dad. Nothing good comes from doing evil things and I just wish everyone here knew that. What do you think of Hufflepuff and your own house?" she asked as he got back on track.

"I didn't finish my thoughts on Ravenclaw earlier so I will do so now. I think they are incredibly smart but sometimes they do study too much and do forget to see the whole picture. Hufflepuffs are annoying because as people by themselves they are fine but when they all come together and unite against something it can be painful. They will not see it differently either, once their mind is made up and I hate that about them. I will choose Susan Bones as I think it would be best for me" he said deep in thought smiling about Susan. She was gorgeous and did have a huge rack if the rumours he'd heard were true. He knew he shouldn't think like that but as he was a man he simply couldn't help it.

"Now for my own house what you need to know is nothing is ever given to anyone for free. It may look like that sometimes but trust me it never ever is. You will see our head of house Professor Snape for example who hates taking house points from us not do that. What he does instead which the other houses don't know is that if we are caught doing something wrong the will give us the most heinous detentions himself. There is no other way to say this so I will just out with it. When I was younger I was a jealous jerk. I was raised to believe if I ask for something I would get it based solely on who I was alone. When I learned it had been a complete lie I lashed out at others. It was not pretty or cool and I am indeed sorry for it. For example Lucius had the dark lord in his home. I have now essentially kicked him out and he's on his own from now on. He will not get by using our family finds as Lucius had been so quick or proud to give. Thankfully mother is a genius and had spoken to our account manager years ago and they had agreed to put three quarters of our wealth into a separate account under the same name with a key which only herself and me had access to. We never touched the Malfoy vault Lucius had access to so in essence he thought he was giving it all away to the dark lord but he wasn't" he said calmly as she smiled over at Narcissa.

Narcissa truly was a beautiful and smart woman. She had done everything in her power to secure her future and had done so with the least theatrics she could. It was not something that Lucius could have pulled off so easily as he loved the theatrics and bragging rights of something too much to ever do so quietly.

"So Draco what about friends you have?" she asked him as he smiled at her.

"Well obviously Crabbe and Goyle who are actually Vincent and Gregory respectively are great friends of mine. Theodore Nott and Blaise Zabini are my best friends though!" he said as she shuddered deeply. Oh she had forgotten about him hadn't she! The party came to a close as everyone went home and she went to her room to think things through. She was sure he was the one for her and she could suddenly understand what Draco felt when he saw her. Hmm she'd have to work on getting his love. Wow.
