Chapter 9: Tired
We arrived to Italy, I woke up to Peter shaking me gently telling me we arrived, he was so gentle and nice when he woke me that I didn't get nervous or anything, I was at peace really, I don't know what it is about Peter.
I also didn't realize we were holding hands the whole way out of the plane until MJ ask us about it and I let go his hand, he seemed sad about the fact but none of us say anything else about it, he got held behind by security about a dog sniffing his suitcase, I didn't have any problem with my bracelets as Beck made a false document explaining why I had them and of course it goes along with the lie I build around it, before the document was different, but after I told him about my scripts he change it up.
We got into a boat to go to where we are supposed to be staying, Brad help me get inside on the boat and I sit next to him, he was making conversation smiling at me and I smiled back some but felt a little weird now, I turned to one moment to look the other side and I swear Peter maybe was looking at me, but he looked away.
When we arrived to the place, Brad helped me out the boat, in one point he had his hands around my waist holding me and when I eyed at him confused he just told me he was helping me to not fall off, I said thanks and walked away, I saw Peter eyed at us looking like if the sun was bothering his eyes, we got inside this hotel that was like falling apart slowly it and was leaking looking like about to sink.
As soon as we were inside I got a text from Beck telling me where to meet him for our next strike, he send me a direction to my phone so I could use the map to meet him so when out teacher told us we would meet him at the museum at 3.
"Do you wanna go around with me?" - asked Brad with a smirk
"Umm...I actually have a favor to do for my dad, so...maybe tomorrow" - I said to him
"Oh...it's ok" - said Brad a little upset walking away
I let out a breath I was holding and decide to walk to the direction Beck send me, as I walk I see everybody around already having fun and I would like to do it as well, be normal, have fun, laugh, cry, get scare, mad...but I guess normal is not for me, so just keep walking and concentrate on my breathing to not get overwhelmed by my thoughts and then I arrived, it was like a big old church and get inside.
"There it is, the man of the hour" - said Beck greeting me ruffling my hair
"Let's just...do this" - I said sighing
"That's the spirit" - said Beck with a smirk
I got inside the cage, I take off my mom's necklace, my t-shirt and the shirt I had on top, Guterman comes to put around my head a metallic headpiece with wires connected to it and different wired pads on my body just like the last time as a way to keep a track and control of my powers.
"Ok, I'm going out, just do as we rehearse and it's gonna be fine, don't be afraid of people getting hurt and most of all...don't be afraid of hurting Peter, he can take it, after all he is Spider-Man" - explained Beck as he headed out
I started to connect with sadness which was easy, I mean all this is just a sad thing, the fact that I'm Beck's slave, I'm making friends that could get hurt, losing my parents and the list goes on, then I could feel the water outside moving, I open my eyes and they were glowing a light blue color on the iris and I turned to look at a monitor that was broadcasting what was happening outside thanks to one of Beck's drones.
I could see how the water "elemental" I create rises pushing a lot of water around and a boat that I realize that Ned and Betty where on the boat, the boat almost hit MJ and Peter, then I make the "elemental" start to smash building and boats around him, I wanted to stop but then the metallic headpiece around my head started to feel like burning making me keep concentration to not let my powers stop, I don't know what the headpiece or the pads do to my body, but every time I try to stop or when we finish the strike they like burn, even they weren't actually burning me, at least that's how they felt during Mexico and Morocco.
"Strike him!" - called out Beck in the intercommunication device inside the cage
I didn't wanted to punch Peter but then I felt a burn from the headpiece and the pads, suddenly the monster moved slowly towards Peter and punched him sending him at the other side of the bridge, I don't know how that happened, I didn't actually send that order to my creature, but I didn't have much time to think as an electric shock came from the bracelets making me let out a yelp and grunt in pain, but miraculously my powers didn't stop working.
"This isn't over yet" - said Beck during the fight addressing to the elemental but I knew that it was addressing towards me
Beck was in the scene shooting green energy blast to my creation just like he did back in Mexico and Morocco while he assured Fury that they were the only thing so far that worked against them, which is a big lie since not even I knew a way to eliminate my element creations unless I just rest my powers and they vanish themselves.
I took the chance to let my water creature smash against Beck, I see Peter trying to talk to Beck in order to help him, I feel the headpiece and pads burning again and my creation moves to smash the building Peter was standing and then it goes to hit another building, I wasn't even sending orders at this point cause he was like moving on his own, I was avoiding to attack Peter and my creature was doing it.
Beck moves and I make my creature follow him smashing things around him, I see my teacher and group was close and try my best to make the smashes from my creature go around without hurting them or putting them in danger, Beck again starts to fight my creature with his energy blast and I start to make my creature throw punches at him and I even smash a bell tower that when I see that is about to fall and spider-web preventing that to happened, I realize Peter was on it and I feel regret about doing that, but since he seems to have it under control I keep my attacks against Beck.
"1 minute!" - yells William
So I realize I have one minute of fun with Beck to keep fighting, so I try to do my best out of it, I know I'm supposed to miss every punch, but I try my luck by throwing a punch that makes him almost fall.
"10...9...8...7..." - started to count down William
When the countdown goes to 0, Beck let out his most "powerful" blast and I make my creature disappear, the headpiece and pads start to burn in me making me grunt and get on my knees and as soon as my creature disappears and the water stops moving an electric shock came from the bracelets to make me stop the water control, when I'm in control the shocks stop but I keep myself on the ground feeling tired, very tired which confused me, cause last two times I didn't felt this tired.
"Get up kid" - said Guterman standing in front of me as I slowly get up
He take off the headpiece from my head and the pads from my body, when he finishes I step out of the glass cage and start to put on my clothes, I put on the black t-shirt with the skull design I was using, the jean shirt I was using leaving it unbutton and finish with putting my mom's necklace I was using (the oval one this time).
"Go back to the group from school, Beck will call you to meet him later on" - said William on the monitor and I nod walking away.
As I get out from the building, I slowly walk away to the hotel to wait for everybody to come, for some reason I felt very drained, I didn't feel sleepy, but I wanted to lay down, I was even limping my way as I walked, when I get inside the hotel I make my way to a sofa that is in there, I lay on it face up with my eyes close.
"Is everybody here, everybody ok?" - asked Mr. Harrington entering the hotel
"Yeah" - called out most of the voices
"Oh, Ziggy, there you are, are you ok?" - asked Mr. Harrington
"Yeah...I just run away from whatever that was...I hide...and then came here, hoping you guys came" - I said still with my eyes closed
"Good...well...we are all fine" - said Mr. Harrington
"Actually, Peter isn't here" - said MJ making Zig open his eyes turning to her
"I'm here, I'm here!" - called out Peter entering the hotel
"Thank god, well you need to get changed, you are soaking wet" - said Mr. Harrington
"Thank god..." - I whispered closing my eyes with my arms over my head again
"Hey...are you ok?" - said Brad voice, I felt him close so I slowly move turned to look at him and he was kneeling close to me
"Yeah...just...got like...overheated with all the running, I feel tired" - I said
"Well...I'm gonna go up to change my pants and shoes, if you need anything, just tell me" - said Brad walking away
I lay there for a couple of minutes I really didn't feel like I was completely recovered, but I needed a shower and change as well, I slowly sit up and open my eyes still feeling a little weak and now dizzy, maybe Beck is pushing me too far, I stand up holding up to a wall that was close and started to move to climb the stairs and as I was climbing I tripped and almost felt but someone caught me.
"Hey Zig...are you ok?" - asked Peter
"Yeah...I just...feel tired" - I say
"Need help to get to your room?" - asked Peter worried
"No...no...I'm fine" - I said as I keep climbing until I'm at the top
"Let me walk you anyway" - said Peter going to my side and walking next to me
I stumble a little making me grab his arm for support my weight on him, when he feels this he moves an arm around my waist and helps me walk towards my room, he opened the door of the room I was sharing with MJ and helps me to lay on the bed, before I knew it I was sleep.
A/N: Back to torture for our little Zig at hands of Beck, I mean he was a really hateful character on the movie and maybe you guys think he is worst here, but is just that he have more "screen time" in here so his hateful behavior is more noticable lol
