Chapter 8: Who is Jacob?

After the terrible Biology ordeal, Ella spent the rest of her day wandering around in the woods close to Bella's house. Incoming three loony vampires be damned, she was taking the risk if it meant that she would be free from this hellhole.

She'd rather die trying.

But no, she found no magic portal that brought her back to her old world.

And no, she wasn't abducted by Laurent, James and Victoria either.

Her fate was much worse than that. She came to the realization that she was stuck in Forks for the foreseeable future. This made her lose her entire mind. Would she eventually adapt to this insane world? Would she eventually accept that her name was Ella Swan now? And would she forget about her old life and her own world?

She was very hungry by the time she got back to Bella's house. When she closed the door behind her, she saw an alarming sight: Charlie was getting ready to cook something again.

It seemed he was very fond of fish.

Charlie looked up, looking busted.

"I thought you'd be tired from wandering around the woods for three hours."

Ella couldn't help but smile at him a little.

"Go sit down, I'll make fish pasta."

By the time Ella was finished, Charlie looked up at her expectantly. Ella was very hungry by this time, so they both wolfed down their food like maniacs.

"Why did you go to the woods?"

Ella hadn't exactly expected Charlie to ask her that. But it made sense.

"I'm looking for something," she mumbled between bites.

"I could help you look for it."

She almost choked on her pasta. When was the last time her father had offered to help her?

"That's all right, I think I've already lost it anyway." She sighed, knowing it was probably true.

"What did you lose?" Charlie mumbled.

"If it's anything technical, you could ask Jacob to help you."

"Who is Jacob?"

Charlie put his fork and knife down and stared at her dumbfounded.

"You've known him since you were a kid."

Ella raised an eyebrow.

"No I don't. Wait. Is it that werewo-, I mean the guy with the ponytail?"

Charlie nodded furiously.

Ella's nostrils flared.

"No thanks, I'm good."

Having to deal with Edward Cullen was already enough of a headache.

But no, Ella's migraine didn't end there. When she got to her room, she discovered Bella's computer from the stone age. She thought that she could perhaps do some digging on getting stuck in fictional worlds. She didn't really think that she would find anything, but she could always dream.

What she definitely hadn't expected to find were e-mails from a stalker.

And no, she wasn't talking about Edward Cullen.

There were about a thousand e-mails in her inbox from Bella's mother, who threatened to call her if Ella didn't respond soon.

What a pain in the ss.

Thrity-thousand e-mails later, Ella's vein was popping. Again. But in the back of her mind, she thought that Bella Swan was quite lucky.
