Chapter 15 Freedom worth fighting for

Leon's PoV

Just when things couldn't get worse, we got cornered. Lucky this oversized spider said if we best him in a battle, he'll let us go. Seems like I can only use pokemon, so I'm unable to fight. So, instead of me fighting, I have to battle like a real Pokemon trainer. Great, something I don't comfortable doing. The way they treat them like tools and command them to do stuff isn't right to me. I feel something touching my shoulder. Look over to see Lucario with a smile and tell me to relax. "I know you have a gentle soul about things, but it's ok. Think about it like you're giving us guidance or strategize on how we can win. That is the role of a trainer, to help both human and pokemon as one." She says to me. Hope pawing my leg, letting me know he's alright with it. Alright, now that's out of the way. I believe I can do this. Though this is gonna be my first time doing this. I do have one concern, The bug type said he had a friend to join him. Question is, who is that pokemon? Looking over to our opponent, we get into position. Hope is to the left and Mama is stretching to my right. "Alright, seems like your ready to fight. Come, My friend!" He announced as he shot an electrical bolt up in the air and blowing up like a firework. Few seconds later, a Shadow appeared in the sky diving down. The Pokemon revealed itself as a giant Ribombee. Saying Hi in a cute voice, so his partner is female. The fighting type warns us that we have another problem, the fairy type that appeared is also a Totem Pokemon, the Fairy-Type Totem. Great, we have to fight two of them. The female is just fluttering around the spider and just flirting. So, they must have a thing or something. One of the bug type Pokemon, a Ledian, came over to Lily and Lazuli. Asking them something. Seems that the vixen's agree to do whatever they were asked. The trio moved in-between us and into center stage of the battle field. "The battle to determine who stays or goes is about to begin!" The bug type said, as he paw signals the girls.

Lily: "Team Leon with Lucario and Shinx, will face the pair of totems, Galvantula and Ribombee."

Lazuli: "Both sides want a clean fight with no help or healing items. First team to have both fighters knocked out, loses and the winner will get as they are promised."

Ladian: "We will be the referees for this match. So, without further ado, let the battle, begin!"

As they wrapped up their little announcement, the battle for our freedom began. In a instant, both Totem Pokemon let out bursts of power. Powering them up to new levels. I instructed Hope to use Fire Fang and Lucario to use Bone rush, both on Galvantula. Both attacks were blocked by his protect. While both were focused on the spider, his partner was able to put up Reflect. Now they have high resistance to all physical moves. Crap, I screwed up already. Hearing my phone going off, curious to know why. Pulling it out to see a battle stat screen. It has all the information on what's happening in the battle, from my Ally's Health and status, the field effects, to my enemies health, Level and buffs. The totem aura they have are both Special defense up by a lot. Great, they're tanky and most likely hit hard. Gotta think of something. The Ribombee is most likely a support type here providing defense and set up. "Ok, Hope, use night slash… On Lucario!"

Everyone: "What!?"

Mama L: "O-oh! Smart move."

Me: "Right, Lucario, use Blaze Kick on Ribombee."

As requested, Hope attacked his ally with his dark type move, triggering her trump card Justified. Giving her the added boost of power to deal a good amount of damage. Charging fast at the Fairy-Type to deliver a solid blow to the side of the insect, sending it flying to its partner. Both getting up, Galvantula fired a Electro web at my team, catching both of them. While his ally shot a strong Moonblast at the yellow Shinx. Nailing hit dead on sending the poor cat up in the air. Mama broke out of the web and jumped up to catch the electric-type. Those two are stronger than I thought, this isn't good. Hope shook off the pain and used his fire fang and bit his arm, to give himself a boost of power by his guts ability. But just when he did that, The electric and bug type used Gastro acid to null Hope's ability, making that burn status a problem thanks to no benefit of getting stronger. Lucario used Extreme speed in retaliation for that. The damage was lackluster and was healed in an instant thanks to Ribombee's Pollen puff. It justs keeps getting worse and worse. Gotta be a way to beat them. Just then, I heard both Mama Lucario and Hope spoke up to me.

Hope: "Hey, don't worry, we got this buddy."

Mama L: "Yea, after all. We both still have one last trump card we both have."

Hope looks over to the fox sisters and told them he's sorry for not being able to keep his promise. Ripping off the everstone bracelet and throwing it to the ground. His body began to glow brightly and started to get bigger. He was evolving into his second stage, a Luxio. The white light burst from his new form and power. Filled with desire to protect his friends, he knew he had to evolve to get stronger. While that happened, The aura fighter called out to me while she put something in her ear. An earring that was a little marble that had 3 colors in it. "You still have that necklace you're little crush gave you, right?" She asked me. Blushing at the crush part but I did remember the necklace. Pulling it out from underneath my shirt and looked at it, the middle was a greenish blue coloring with a symbol in it. Instructing me to tap it and focus on our bond as master and student. Doing so as I put my finger on my little marble that seems to match Lucario's. Both of our marbles emanated light and surrounded us, flares of light erupted from both of us and colliding with each other, almost like their linking to each other. Suddenly a cocoon like structure engulfed her into a ball. A second passed as the ball shattered into pieces, revealing a new form of Lucario. Yelling out a war cry, bursting with energy. The once all black paws and aura sensors now have red. The yellow chest fur grew longer well as her sensors. Another difference was she got taller and more powerful. This is the power of mega evolution. "Ok, time for round two. How bout it, Hope? Think you can keep up?" The mega pokemon asked the newly evolved Luxio. Looking back at her "Question is, can you keep up with me?" He replies back with sass. That made the doggo laugh and gave him a noogie. "Don't get too cocky, kid. Stay on guard. Now, watch and learn." The mega pokemon said as she held out her paw and summoned a five foot bone rush pole, twirling it in place. Taking a step forward and suddenly vanished. Reappearing ever so step before swinging at full force, three hit combo rush attack on the electric totem. Sending it back against a tree, breaking it down. "That was my flash step. Mitsuki dear, better take notes. You're still not faster than mommy. Tehe"

Mitsuki: "Dam it!! Just you wait, I'll be faster than you! ….Again!"

Is this really the time to taunt her daughter? The Fairy-Type was stunned at what just happened, leaving herself wide open for Hope to swoop in and deliver a Iron Tail to the target's blindside. The body of the butterfly turned green for a second then disbursed. The phone shows that her defense dropped, thanks to the added effect of the steel type move. We were able to land some super effective moves, evening the score. "Alright, let's wrap this up. Lucario, Blaze Kick on Ribombee and Hope, use fire fang on Galvantula." I told them and they followed on advice. Galvantula saw this coming and charged to his partner's side and used protect. Blocking both moves at once. After the move was finished, we all could tell that our opponents are worn out and weakened. The pokemon behind him used pollen puff one last time before fainting. So now it's two v one. Seeing how unfair the battle is now, Mama Lucario backed off and reverted back to normal, leaving everything to Hope and me to finish up. My buddy looks back to me with a grin. "You ready to finish this, buddy?" I ask my now big cat. "Oh yea, let's rock!" He replied back. So I commanded him to use iron tail for the gamble, followed by fire fang. The spider was not giving up without a one last 'F U' attack and shoots out stinky webs to try and capture him but it didn't work due to Hope cutting through with a sharp tail made of steel. The gap was closed and Hope launched the steel and fire combo. Iron tail lands, reducing the defense, and grabbing the furry leg of the tarantula and finishing him off with fire fang. Breaking away to gain distance, looking forward to see a wobbly pokemon. Falling over, defeated and out of energy. "WE WON!" Both me and Hope yelled out, making everything cheer in delight. However the bug pokemon who were watching cried out in anger and frustration. Their prey has bested the strongest team they had. Galvantula and Ribombee regain consciousness before things got ugly. "Enough, my friends. They have fought hard and won fair. Like I have agreed, They are all free to go and must never harm them." They all backed down and bowed in respect. Opening the way for us out of this place.

Finally out of that forest, tired and beat. As we all started to walk home, someone called out human to me. Turning around to see the totem pair, seems like they wanted to tell me something. "You have a lot of skill and faith with your friends. Something we totem pokemon evaluate with our challenges, and have indeed impressed us. As a reward, please take our crystals." Galvantula says to me while Ribombee hands over a light greenish and a pink crystal with symbols in them. Much like the one Hope has. "These are our Z crystals, take great care of them. Another thing I must add. No matter where you go or where you're at, you can never change how others do things. Yes, some are sad, hurtful and down right unforgettable. But those have been our way of life for years. We are not ashamed for the acts we do, it's just nature. Don't think about upsetting the balance like you and that female did today. Otherwise, you'll regret your life." With that said, they both returned to the forest. A few seconds later, a loud pleasant moan can be heard and screams of yes echo. Giving me chills. He's right though, never mess with how things are run. But doesn't mean if someone you care for is in trouble, to stand by and let something horrible happen.

Lily's PoV

Phew, glad that's over. Place was really creepy and all those bug types kept looking at my tail and butt. Probably thinking perverted things. But everything is now fine, Mitsuki is safe and.. "Umm Now that we're out of there, Who's this Swadloon?" I asked the female in question, who ran over to the young fighting type to hide behind her back. Looking very shy around new pokemon. "Oh her? She's my new friend. I made a promise I would get her out of that place and to keep her safe." Mitsuki says to the group. Also explaining what happened before we got there.

Me: "That's horrible. I'm so sorry for your loss, Swadloon."

Lazuli: "Dam those bastards! At least Mitsuki broke off a horn off one of them. Good going, girl." *High paws Mitsuki*

Hope: "But now there's a new problem. What are we gonna do with her?" Hope asked, his voice has gotten deeper thanks to him evolving. It actually fits him nicely and it's an attractive tone that isn't too deep or not sounding like a kid still. A nice balance. I would be surprised if no female would like that in him. Everyone started to think of a solution. But like always, Mama Lucario got an idea. Walking over to the little grass type to crouch down and started petting it on the head. "I am sorry for your family. So, I have a proposal for you, I can adopt you into my family. I can be your new mommy. Not only that, you and Mitsuki could be sisters. How does that sound?" She says in her motherly voice. Overwhelming with emotions, the little female burst into tears and cried yes to her offer. With all that said, The fighting type family now has a new child to take care of. "Now that that's settled, we should give you a name. How about Elizabeth?" She seems to love that name a lot. So the grass and bug pokemon will now be known as Elizabeth and little sister to Mitsuki.

:Moments later:

Lazuli: "Wow, Hope. I still can't get over that you evolved. So much bigger than us and what's with your fur being more softer than our's. Not fair!"

Me: "Oh, I agree sis. I can't stop rubbing his thick mane."

Mitsuki: "hehe soft Hope, fuzzy Hope."

Hope was powerless to us giving him all the attention. Seems like we are just making him blush harder and harder. Noticing his yellow fur started to turn red from all over him and swirls in his eyes. And just like that, he fainted. Wow, hasn't done that in a long time. Honestly, I'm a bit jealous he got to evolve. I know he needed to so he can beat Galvantula but still. The others started to draw on the unconscious cat. I'm not the prankster kind like Sis and Mitsuki, so I didn't join them. Instead I went to my garden to relax. As I made my way, I felt tapping on my tail, making me eep in surprise. Turning around to see our newest friend, Elizabeth. She wanted to apologize again for stealing my berry plants and asked if I could teach her how to garden. I feel like I should be a teacher or something. Of course I'll teach her something like this, she is part grass type too. Making our way their, I happened to see a familiar face who's tending the plants. "Leon!" I say with excitement, dashing to my crush. Leaping into his chest and tackling him down. He got up and rubbed my head. Asking why I did that, all I did was stick my tongue out. Giggling at me as he tickled my sides. He explained what he was doing and tried to figure out what to make dinner with. So in the end, we settled with Oran and figy berry salad with some honey dew and Sitrus juice. Gathering around for dinner time, Leon said he has an announcement. "Alright, everyone is here? Good, Listen. I have been thinking about something and now I'm sure of it."

Lazuli: "What is it?"

Leon: "We're gonna be leaving to Aloha to find a new home."

Everyone: "What!?"
