(As the days since Oliver's enrollment and assigning to Duck's branch went by, the mainline was getting busier and busier as more and more passengers came to the island. As James and Thomas did their best to do extra local services on the mainline, as well as their normal jobs, they found that they couldn't do them without being late for their usual jobs. As Sir Topham Hatt saw this, he decided to reach out to family he met while visiting a heritage railway on the mainland.)
STH: (Through Phone) Greetings Mr Stirling, how are things?
Mr Stirling: Not good Sir Topham. The railway is losing money, and soon my daughter's engine would have to be scrapped.
STH: (Through Phone) Well, I guess it was very fortunate timing that I called then. I need another engine to help out with the locals on the mainline, and I think your daughter's engine is just the one I need. Also, I wouldn't mind having her enrolled into the school here, for I can bet that her engine is sentimental to her.
Mr Stirling: (smiles) It is indeed. I'm quite sure that she wouldn't refute the offer sir.
STH: (Through Phone) Good. I'll see you when you get here. Have a nice evening.
Mr Stirling: You too, Sir. (ends call) Now time to tell Emily.
(as Mr Stirling went off to tell his daughter the news, he knew that the news would certainly please her. Meanwhile, in a massive mansion in Brighton, a man who had the same hair, eyes, and similar facial features to that of Thomas's father, Howard Billinton, was busy looking through a number of reports he had gotten recently as he sat at his sofa, with his glass of wine on the table next to him.)
?: So it appears that the Collets have escaped the punishment I had set out for them. How infuriating.
?: (Chuckles as he then entered the room.) Same old uncle Horace. You agreeing with my irritations and my views, is the precise reason I like you greatly. Not to mention that you are the one person within the commoner group who figured out how to become Brighton's Duke.
Horcae: (sighs and smiles) You know me all too well my neaphew. Anyway, any news on those reporters that were coming here?
?: Oh yes, news indeed. They will not be coming here, for something bad has happened... TO THEM!
Horace: You killed them that fast?
?: Well with a few gadgets and my trusty knife, yes.
Horace: (sneers) Good work my nephew. Now there will be no-one to intrude me on my domination plan. (stands up and walks to the window.) One day my nephew, we'll dominate the world through it's railways, and once we do, no-one will be able to stand against us. And once we get to that point, only then, not even those three pathetic so called brothers you have will be around to stop us. Not once.
(as the duke of Brighton and his nephew in crimson then began to laugh maniacally, for they felt very powerful. The next day, at the NWR's school for engine drivers, Thomas was walking through the hallway of lockers, until he saw an unfamiliar girl. The girl was slightly shorter than James, with long straight black hair, with emerald eyes, an emerald uniform and with NWR # 12 engraved on to her cap's plate. Being the kind and friendly guy he was, Thomas decided to greet her.)
Thomas: Hi. Are you new here?
?: (sees Thomas) Oh yes. My name's Emily. And I just recently moved here.
Thomas: I see. Anyway, my name is Thomas. And it's nice to meet you.
Emily: Thanks.
(As Thomas and Emily were about to continue chatting, the girl in emerald saw James and felt her heart pound rapidly.)
Emily: Um, Thomas. Who's the guy in red?
Thomas: That's James Hughes. He's a good guy, just is a bit unconsciously vain at times.
(As Emily then nodded, she just couldn't tear her eyes off of the teen in red. To her, James's looks were very charming. As the day went by, Emily made friends with the rest of Thomas's group and students within the school and still felt her heart pound around James. However, on the next day, as Emily then drove her Sterilng single into the yards, to do her first passenger run, she only found one pair of banchline coaches. As she then coupled them to her engine, she didn't recokn a sign next to them that said, "For NWR #1's use only". As Emily then drove her engine down the line with passengers aboard, she saw Thomas and his E2 pulling a line of coal trucks.)
Emily: Morning Thomas!
Thomas: (As he saw the coaches) OI! Those are MY engine's coaches! Please give them back!
(As Thomas scowled, Emily didn't hear the E2 driver and didn't understand his unfriendiness. As Emily then continued on, passing Percy, Timothy and Edward along the way, Thomas dropped the coal trucks off at the yards, and met up with Sir Topham Hatt at the station and told him everything.)
STH: I believe it was by mistake Thomas. Emily probably didn't see the sign.
Thomas: I can guess that but still!
STH: Now. Now. Don't get too worked up. For I need you to collect a new pair of coaches from the docks.
Thomas: (sighs with annoyance.) Yes sir. (Boards E2 and opens the regulator.) (muttering) Don't want new coaches! Don't want new coaches!
(But Thomas didn't know that these new coaches he was to collect weren't for him. Later, as Emily then brought the coaches of Thomas's engine back to the yard, Billster, who was shunting trucks with his E2 was surprised.)
Billster: Not sure if you saw the sign or not but THOSE are Thomas's coaches.
Emily: (sees the sign) Oh my! I must have missed it as I came in. No wonder why Thomas and his friends were cross. I'd better find him and apologize.
(As Emily then sat out in her engine to find Thomas, Billster decided to find a better spot for the sign for his brother's coaches where it would be impossible to miss. As Emily then came to the signal box just before the crossing, she was flagged down.)
Signalman: Number 11 hasn't passed the next junction yet. Please go and see what's wrong.
Emily: Right. (opens regulator)
(As Emily then drove her engine up the line, she found Oliver and his engine stranded on the crossing. The teen's 14xx had broken down and was stuck. As Emily was about to back her engine up to report her findings to the signalman a familiar whistle was heard from the distance.)
Emily: Oh no! That's Thomas's whistle. (looks at Oliver's engine) I must get Oliver and his engine across.
(As Emily then opened her engine's regulator and drove it forwards, it bumped Oliver's auto tank as it then slowly moved it forward. Then as she saw Thomas's E2 coming closer and closer, Emily opened the regulator all the way and crossed the tracks just in time. Later, after she brought Oliver's engine to the works, Emily arrived back at Knapford station to find Thomas, and her parents on the platform with Sir Topham Hatt.)
Emily: (as she braked her engine and stepped out of it's cab) What's going on here?
Thomas: A bit of gratitude is what. You stopped a possibly nasty crash.
STH: Yes. And though I was already planning on giving these to you, I'm proud to present you with these new coaches for your engine.
Emily: Oh sir. Thank you. (looks at Thomas) Thomas, I'm sorry for taking your E2's coaches.
Thomas: Don't worry about it. Billster told me everything, and we even moved the sign to a better spot.
Emily: So, we're friends then?
Thomas: Still friends.
(As Emily now drove her engine with her own set of coaches, she is as happy as she could be. The fellow students from school greet her as they pass by, and their own emerald paint looks splendid with her engine. So much so, that even James was impressed.)
James: (to Thomas as they ate lunch on one of Knapford station's benches.) Thomas. Emily is such a sight at both school and the rails! She is just stunning and so is her engine.
Thomas: (smirks) Hmm.
James: What?
Thomas: Nothing. Just sensing that a romance might happen between you two.
James: Uh... (face turns red as his clothing) (flustered) Really?
Thomas: (chuckles) I'm only teasing, James. But still, Emily seems to really like you.
James: I see. (in mind) I never thought that I would be in a situation like this. Me really liking a beautiful girl who also likes me. I guess Thomas was right.
(As James then looked over, he saw Emily heading towards the station's cafe. Seeing that his next train wasn't due until the next hour and a half, the teen in red walked over to her, to speak with her.)
James: Um, Emily...
Emily: Yeah James?
James: Mind if I... join you?
Emily: Uh.. Go right ahead. I would actually enjoy the company.
(As he then watched his two friends head into the cafe, Thomas smiled with a knowing smile.)
Thomas: Well, looks like they hit their relationship startline. I think this would be definitely good for James. Really good.
(End Of Episode)
Thomas: Ok, time for the preview for the next episode. So, things between Emily and James have been going well, and news of another new female student has been going around. However, this one in particular, was one that I wasn't expecting to see her until much later. Though shocking this surprise was not once all unpleasant, but all the same, I may have to throw a few punches here and there to ensure that she's safe. Next Time. The Lost Girl. Why do I suddenly feel all flustered?
