All of the avengers along with the new recruits in the field listen in. As Peter explained how Happy and Pepper are being attacked by the Goblin while Rhodey gave a tied sigh.
'Typical this would happen on a day of celebration...Alright Spidey you go on ahead to deal with the Halloween freakshow and the rest of us will follow behind' Rhodey ordered while Peter and the rest the avengers nodded in approval. 'And try to keep this on the low down. I don't want to cause a panic or scene and until this crises is handled'
'Hey is everyone seeing this?' One the people shouted and Rhodey cursed for jinxing himself. As he then looked at the direction of were the onlooker was pointing. Upon witnessing what he saw. His mouth gap in utter confusion and disbelief. But held a knowing dread.
'What the the...?' Rhodey said to himself. As what he looked like a massive green cloud forming around the stage and blocking out the night sky. While thunder and lighting strike within it. Later on some of clouds condensed themselves into a mist that ingulf the entire stage below.
Suddenly a madden laughter echoed throughout the mist. Yet it was distorted low pitched. Making it sound utterly inhuman and unearthly.
'Beck!' Peter uttered in shock and horror as he looked over to find his dreadful enemy who once tricked and nearly drive him insane with his hologram tech.
'Wait...' Banner spoke out. 'You mean the guy who framed you as a terrorist while staging himself as the next big hero. His the one doing all this?'
Peter nodded his head slowly 'Yep.'
The laughter then ceased as Mysterio began to speak to the entire crowd near the stage.
'People of the world' The con-man spoke his voice now sounding suave on top of being demonic. 'Once I was a defender of my home word that tried in vain to save it and when I arrived to yours I sought to redeem myself by becoming your defender and your savior!'
The green clouds then form images of the doctored footage of him framing Spider-Man to the audience.
'But when I was killed by one of your own and warn you of his betrayal. Instead of avenging me you celebrated him as hero and condemn me as the villain!'
The vision in the clouds faded away and was replaced by an image of Beck in his Mysterio costume now looking worn narrated and blooded and his fish bowl helmet gone. Sitting in a dark abyss pleading with a group of tall figures dressed in black hooded robs and staring him down flashing crimson eyes.
'So enraged was I for this ungrateful humiliation. That I made pack with the dark forces of my lost world to come back to life and have my vengeance!'
The scene then changed with Beck bargaining to the dark lords and as if reaching an agreement. His entire body was ingulf in a massive torrent of blue fire that burn away the remain of his costume and seared the flesh off his bones. Leaving behind a naked skeleton alight with the ethereal blue flames.
The flaming undead Beck in the vison then turn to face the entire crowd and then much to the added horror of everyone who bare witness. Quentin then proceeded to step out of the cloud image itself. Burning it away and as he walked into the green mist. His ignited body grew to the size of a giant. That tower over the stage and the facility itself.
'On all you who wronged me and damn you all to the very oblivion I once liberated you from!' Beck roared in his blue flaming skeleton form. He then flexed both of his arms and at once the fires of his fleshless body condenses and transform into his new mysterio outfit. Only it looked much more sinister the ever.
His cape was tattered and torn. His once green body suit now blacked. His golden armor replace with silver beaded necklaces and arm jewelry fashion in form of unblinking eyes. In place of his fish bowl of a helmet his skull then procced to regrow its flesh and skin. While the flames around his head transformed and soften into glowing blue wisps. Rendering all the hair on his face and skull completely obscure. His eyes glowed completely blank and white along with his mouth and teeth as he grin sinisterly at the audience below.
With his transformation completed Beck let out another horrifying laughter that frighten everyone. civilian and Avenger alike to their core.
Banner's eyes then winded in full on terror at seeing what Quentin Beck the supposed con-artist hero wannabe. Reviving himself as a literal demon spawn from hell. Before darting his eyes to Peter.'...Seriously?' he said in utter disbelief while pointing at the ghastly giant. 'That is the guy!?'
Peter then paused in long moment as stared at his returning foe with knowing dread silence before answering meekly.
'...yep'
The giant Mysterio then faced directly at the Avengers and smirked at them. 'However just because I said, I wanted revenge does not mean I would be doing it alone'
Mysterio laughed one last time before he wrapped his entire body with his cloak and then began to glow blue and white before exploding in a burst of fire and from the hundreds of thousands cinders that came came from the blast. Each transformed into a flying giggling black imp that soon attacked everyone in the stadium in mass.
Causing every Hero and civilian alike to cry out in panic.
'Damn it!' Rhodes cursed as he fired off the missiles and machine guns from his war machine armor. While the Winter Solider, The Falcon and The Wasp did the same with their own ranged weapons and Gravity and Scarlet using their powers to crush the flying fiends in mass.
The other avengers due to lacking said range weapons. Like Shang chi and Hulk. Resorted to just beat them down with their bare hands and upon smashing some of the imps it revealed they were robot drones. While Spider-Man who used the nanties on his suit to pull up masked. Proceed to use a combination of both used his hands and webbing to both entangle and crush the imp drones in mass.
Yet in spite of them being easy to destroy they were still numerous. For even with heavy hitters like Gravity's Scarlet Witch's and Hulks overwhelming power. For ever dozens of drones destroyed with each hit hundreds more took their place.
'This is like Ultron all over again only his dressed up for Halloween' Rhodey quip while gunning down the imps.
'Hey kid is there any way to take this nut job down?' The military officer called out to Spider-Man and after the web slinger smashed another imp he looked to the older hero.
'Beck doesn't actually do fighting on his own he is properly hiding out somewhere nearby. But with all these little creeps swarming everywhere I can't pin point his location without letting myself get turn apart first!'
Rhody then nodded in understanding 'Gotcha I will try to make a-'
The War Machine was then slammed to the ground by a green metal stinger and both Spidey and the older Avenger's eyes widened in shock on seeing who it belonged to.
Mac Gargan the Scorpion now dressed in perhaps the most slickest and his most advance body suit ever. With the criminal's entire body covered in reinforced green armor like his tail and a helmet shaped in a mask that covered his entire face save for his jaw and orange lenses that covered his eyes. While both of his arms were fitted with metal gauntlet like pinchers with razor sharp edges.
The crook then smiled as he then launched one of its Pincers at Rhodes with enough strength and force to slam and hold him to the ground and kicking up dust.
Spidey was about to help until he saw Sam The Falcon swooping down from the air to take care of The Gargan himself. But was cut off course in mid air when a black blur ram into him and sending the hero plummeting into the stage.
The figure hovered in the air and when Peter looked up his heart skipped a beat. At recognizing that the foe was the Toomes the vulture.
Only now instead wearing nothing but a jacket with oversized metal wings and helmet. He was now sporting a black and red armor suite. With smaller wings that hanged over his arms. Yet the helmet he wore looked the same. Only instead of its vizor showing off glowing green eyes they now radiated crimson. Giving him the appearance of crooked robotic male Harpy.
Toomes then stared back at Spider-Man for single moment before turning his attention to the Falcon who stood up on the stage.
'You want to be play in the sky's old man? Then come on!' Sam shouted as he then lunged towards the vulture. Forcing the later to dodge and soon both bird themed flyers were having an all-out all sky battle.
Peter was so spooked on seeing his past enemies coming at his heroes that he barely notice one the imps coming at him. Until Bruce Banner the Hulk grab it in mid air and crushed with his big green right hand.
'Keep focused Parker! And stay on task. We will hold off theses guys while you save Happy and Pepper now go!'
After heisting for a bit Peter gave single shake of his head in approval before swinging off to the main garage of the avengers facility and after arriving he quickly open the sliding metal with one hand. Rushing in to find the vehicle he was looking for and after few long moments found it and smiled.
A moment later Peter race out of the garage in black and red spider-motorcycle and to the Stark building.
Banner then smiled as the web-wonder drove out of the Avenger's facility. While Mysterio then appeared behind him now the size of a normal human. Who proceed to chuckle at the scene before him.
'Well an't that sweet. The big green freak show looking out for the brat only to send him into more trouble.' The illusionist mocked the hulk. No longer using his demonic voice. While multiple duplicates of himself then began to surround the hulk. They all then raised their right hands at the Avenger. Each of which glowed with blue energy.
'It's a wonder why the world still looks up to you so called heroes'
Banner however was unfazed by the taunts and instead cracked both of his knuckles. 'Considering you tried to make yourself into a bigger so called hero and then decided to go full on villain when it didn't work out for you. I think that is a classic case of pot calling the kettle black'
Beck remain silent on hearing that. Only to growl in annoyance and then gestured all of his clones shoot at the Hulk all at once.
Later at stark industry
Pepper groan as she crawled amongst the rubble of the building now completely fallen apart into a blazing inferno of twisted metal and stone. Her blue rescue suite. The one her late husband made for her laid blacked and scorched to nearly beyond use.
This goblin or whatever this thing is. Hand her utterly beaten not only in raw power but also in skill and unpredictability. Even now Pepper believed that the only reason she was able to drag out the fight out this long. Was because the fiend was having too much fun in making her suffer. Like text book sadist.
As she struggled to breath, she could hear the monster's feet walking on the ruin cement coming closer to her. Step by step.
'Well this is a shame. I really wanted you would put up more of a challenge or at lest last bit longer in trying to survive futilely before...struggling on the ground futilely'
Pepper then stared at her enemy in stern determination. Refusing to show to him any sign of weakness though hoping perhaps with little small talk she might stall him. Till help arrives.
'So tell me are you one of so called people who want revenge on Stark because he ruin your dream or job or something or are you just a tool to take his tech like everyone else?' Pepper bluffed and for just a moment it like he took the bait.
'The goblin then slowly raised his sword of fire. 'Oh you Would like that wouldn't you? Making me all giggly to the point I spout all my motives and planes. But unfortunately for you I have dragged this little scuffle long enough as it and all I have to give to you is your death!
Pepper then gritted her teeth. Hoping that her little world play would give her a little more time. But unfortunately for this demon of a man was far too savvy for his own good.
'Well what are you waiting for do it!?' She barked defiantly even when fear clinched at her heart and knowing her own upcoming death. However from her eyes she couldn't help but notice that the goblin's left hand holding the flaming sword was shaking if only slightly.
'Honorable in death as in life I'll give you that Ms. Potts' the goblin said in solemn tone much to peppers utter confusion. Even as the supposed lunatic raised up his sword for the death blow.
THACK!!!
However before the strike could be delivered the goblin was struck in the head by a piece of rubble. He then slowly turn his to see that Happy with an outstretched arm and the goblin smiled gleefully. Showing off his black razor sharp teeth and and fire filled mouth. Causing the heavy set body guard to slowly back away in terror.
But for pepper it was her chance to escape.
Using the remains functioning pulse canon on her left hand she immediately aimed at the fiery creatures and by the time he turn around she instantly knock the goblin away with a pulse blast and into some nearby rubble. Soon after that, Happy and Pepper made a run for it.
'Did you made the call?' She yelled out while running beside happy.
'Peter should be on his way be now if not him then-'
Happy and Pepper then stop on their tracks as a wall of flames suddenly rise above them and out of the inferno appeared the goblin riding on his metal glider.
'Well that's one good pull over you had there. but unfortunately for both of you this game ends now!' The goblin sneered as mini rocket launchers formed on his glider.
However before he could fire them the fiend's glider was suddenly tagged by a string of webbing and with a sudden pull jerked the goblin and glider to a nearby collapsed wall. Smashing them into and causing it to collapse on top the fiery demon.
'Ahh But you can't say a game is over when their other people who still want to play!' Spider-Man quipped while Happy and Pepper looked at the young hero in relief.
'Well it took you long enough kid' Happy complained with hoarse yet calming breath.
'Yeah well I am here' Peter answered as he then looked to the burn and beaten Pepper and the lens of his mask narrowed in concern 'Do you need help getting out of her miss Potts?' the hero said in concern. While Pepper just placed her right hand on Peter's shoulder.
'I'll will be find just kick that creep's ass'
Spidey then made a salute to her. 'Will do'
Then as Happy and Pepper take their chance to leave by running behind from the hero. The body-guard then raised up his hand.
'Oh and Peter don't worry on fighting this guy on your own there is back up coming your way!'
The spider hero however could only squirm at the harsh hindsight of Happy's statement
'Uh about that...you see the avengers are-!?' Peter tried to explain as turn his head only to find Happy and Pepper to be out of sight and from behind him he could hear the goblin breaking out of the collapsed wall.
'...never mind' Spidey said in bitterly as turn to face his fiery enemy.
'Okay so you are the new villain on the block huh?' The hero went back to quipping but the Goblin remain silent. 'Well I have to admit of all the rogues I face you definitely get an A in the unique and overblown costume area. Mind telling me your designer?'
The scaled fiery demon then stared blankly at the spider. before bursting into crackling laughter that both sounded genuinely amusing and forced. 'Oh sure I can send you to my backer...through a one way trip to hell!
The fiend then called upon his glider, jumped on it and flew towards the web-head while the later readied his fists.
The fight between The Spider and The Goblin begins!
Well this chapter 7. Which the Sinster Six and the Goblin launching their first attack on the Avengers.
Now mysterio's designed is based on the android his 616 used to evade the ultimate universe to try to take over the criminal underworld there and his new phony story is based on an actual plot line of where Mysterio really made a deal with a devil to escape hell.
The upcoming battles themselves will be multipart. With each of the Avenger battling one of the Sinister Six and after that The mysterious hero who missed the ceremony will appear.
Though I expect it would be pretty easy to guess who it is.
