Chapter 15

Time had done the small family well. A year after Giselle was born, the family was doing amazingly well. Beck and Jade had found a new apartment together, one big enough for all three of them. They'd let everyone know that they were back together, meaning Beck officially ended his relationship with Willow, but they remained friends, and she even grew close to Jade. Willow had regained partial custody of her daughter, and Lina and Giselle became friends.

Now, a year later, the small family was taking their lives another step forward. Beck was going to purpose! He knew he'd loved Jade since he was 13. They were meant for each other. They were everything for each, and Beck knew there was no one else he'd want to spend the rest of his life with.

"So, are you gonna tell me why you made me dress up like this and where the hell you're taking me?" Jade asked, as the couple drove to the unknown (by Jade) destination. Willow had agreed to watch Giselle for the night so Beck and Jade could go out.

"Not yet. You've gotta be patient, babe." Beck replied, trying to use his acting skills to mask his nervousness.

"Wow, I figured after nearly a decade together, you would've realized that patience is not my strong suit."

"I know, but you still have to be patient. We'll get to where we're going soon enough. For now, let's listen to some music." Beck turned on the radio, and, of course, he'd already planned the music that would play. He'd created a playlist of songs from the 2000s that reminded them of their childhood.

"I'll be patient, for now, but if you make me wait very long, this music will not prevent me from getting mad."

"We'll be there soon. I promise."

10 minutes later, the couple pulled up to their destination. It was a fancy, 5-star restaurant. They'd been there once before for an anniversary dinner.

"Why are we here? I mean, I'm not complaining because I love this place, but why are we here?" Jade asked, as they sat down at a small table near the back of the restaurant.

"Is it a crime to want to do something nice for your girlfriend? We're here because I wanted to treat you. You're an amazing mom to Ellie, and an amazing girlfriend to me. You deserve this." Beck replied.

"Fine, but for the next date night, I get to treat you. You're just as amazing of a dad and a boyfriend as you say I am as a mom and girlfriend."

"I'm still immensely grateful that you decided to give us another chance. I love you so much, and, besides you, Ellie is the best things that happened to me."

"I'm glad that you decided to stay. I couldn't have asked for a better man to raise my baby with, and a better boyfriend. I love you, Beck."

The couple continued their lovey-dovey, adorable banter until the food arrived. They talked about Ellie, and plans for their future. They knew they wanted more kids, at least one that was biologically theirs. They knew biologically didn't make a family, but the thought of a baby that was half Beck and half Jade made them each fall in love with each other more.

After finishing up with dinner, they hopped back in the car and headed to their next destination.

"So, you're not gonna tell me where we're going, are you?" Jade asked.

"You were patient for the first place, you can be patient again. I think you're going to like this place even more than the restaurant."

"I don't know, the food was pretty good. I'm glad you decided to take me there."

"Of course, only the best for my love."

Beck put the radio back on, and as they pulled up to their destination, Jade's favorite song started playing.

Jade was confused when they pulled up. They were at a park; their park. There was a heart made up of dried rose petals on the ground, with candles surrounding it.

"Beck, what is this? What are you doing?"

"Why you go stand in the heart and you'll find out."

Jade did as she was told. She walked over to the heart and stood in it, but little did she know, her life was about to change. When she had her back turned away from Beck, he got down on one knee and held open the box. As she turned around, she quickly realized what was happening. Her mouth flew open and a gasp escaped.

"Beck, are you serious?" She asked, not quite believing it was real.

"I know this is a huge cliché, and in high school you told me to never purpose like this, but I couldn't help myself. Jade, I've loved you since I was 13. We've been to hell and back together. There were plenty of times where we both thought we were over for good, but something always brought us back together. They're the best person I've ever known. You're talented, and beautiful, and loving, and caring, and kind. You're the world's best mom to Giselle. I love you more than anything else, so will you do me the honor of being my wife?" By the end of his speech, his eyes started getting misty. Jade, on the either, was full on crying. She had little droplets of mascara streaming down her face. It was beautiful and perfect, and everything she'd never known she wanted.

"Yes, of course." Jade choked out through the tears.

As soon as she said yes, Beck stood up, placing the ring on her finger, and then wrapped his arms around her.

"We're getting married!" He yelled in excitement.
