Episode 9. The Arc-League Championship begins
" Next we have the talk of the city with their Entertainment Dueling and new Summoning Method, the Pendulum Summon ! It´s You Show Duel School !"
A loud cheer went up and Morgan, Brody, Lynn, Ethan and Stacey all walked out onto the field. Their sight from the darkened tunnel soon changed into the light of the sun of Paradise City. The cheering became louder as they entered the stadium. Morgan and the others could see the entire stadium cheering for them. They looked around and high in the stands they could see Emma waving to them. Morgan and Brody waved back. Lynn meanwhile was taking this all into her stride. ("What a stage... It´s similar to the Turbo-Duel Grand Prix I and Ryan dream of to duel at...")
The female reporter from before then spoke again. "Also, the You Show Duel School´s Morgan Reigns has become a household name with her new Summoning method, the Pendulum Summon, so we will be keeping our eyes on her in this tournament."
Without Morgan notecing it, Brody looked at her with a smile on his face as he heard that.
A few minutes later, all competitors stood in a line in front of the stage as a man stood on the stage. "All of you that have gathered here today, are the elite that have won your way here by defeating many other Duelists that has stood in your way ! We all except you to duel your best while exhibiting fair play."
Everyone applauded when he finished speaking.
Nico then held up his microphone. "And next we will be conducting the oath of fair play ! And the players´ representative this year will be..." He then pointed at Morgan. "The You Show Duel School´s Morgan Reigns !"
Everyone turned towards Morgan shocked while Morgan blinked a few times before pointing at herself shocked. "What ? Me ?!"
Brody looked at her just as shocked as she was. "Morgan is..."
Ethan and Stacey also looked shocked. "Morgan is going to say the oath ? How did that happen ?"
Morgan held up her hands with a nervous expression. "W-wait just a second ! No one told me about this..." However she got interrupted by Nico. "Morgan Reigns, please come to the stage immediately." At that moment, two workers from the stadium appeared next to Morgan and lifted her up and carried her towards the stage while she let out a shocked sound. Morgan then got pushed onto the stage and she took a few stumbling steps before she stopped in front of the microphone on the stage with a nervous, almost scared expression on her face.
Brody and the others looked at Morgan with a worried expression, wondering if their friend was going to be okay up there on the stage. Morgan looked from the students up at the audience and swallowed nervously. "W-well then...um..." Morgan tried to figure out something to say, however right now her brain didn´t work as she was to nervous to be able to think properly and she looked down at the stage with a troubled expression on her face. Her eyes then fell onto her bracelet and for some reason she started to feel more relaxed. She then closed her eyes and took a deep breath before she grabbed her bracelet tight with her other hand
Morgan then opened her eyes and a smile appeared on her face. "Everyone, sorry for the delay. To make up for it, this is the oath of fair play... is what I would like to start of with, but I would like you all to listen to what I have to say instead."
Everyone in the stadium looked at her shocked and confused, especially the others from You Show.
Morgan then placed her hand with the bracelet over her chest. "My brother is the Duelist Junior Reigns, the best Entertainment Duelist in the whole world, but as everyone knows, three years ago before his championship match begun, he went away somewhere. A lot of people called me the sister of a coward, and I trained desperately and practiced my Entertainment Dueling to prove them all wrong. However, after discovering the Pendulum Summon and facing some really strong Duelists, I begun to enjoy Dueling more and more, like I used to before all of this happened, and that´s when I realized that I want to enjoy Dueling even more than I used to. And I also want to be like my brother, someone that people will be proud of and look up to. I want to become a Duelist who can make not only herself, but also everyone else enjoy Dueling even more."
For a moment there was nothing but deep silence. That slowly changes as people started to applause for Morgan, and soon the whole stadium started to cheer. Morgan´s friends all looked at her with proud smiles on their faces.
Nico then spoke once more. "Excellent ! That was Morgan Reigns´ oath of fair play as well as her declaration of her determination !"
Morgan then bowed her head a little and managed to get off of the stage.
"Well said, Morgan." Emma said and then looked up into the sky. ("Junior... your little sister is about to surpass you... I´m sure you´re as happy about it as I am.") She thought.
Nico Smiley then begun to speak again. "The first round won´t take place directly here at the main stadium so let me start explaining the first round for the Senior class. The 32 Duelists who have qualified will duel at Haprer Futuristics´ Center Court. It will be small Battle Royal Duels with 4 competitors figting each other. It will be 8 Duels each today and tomorrow, and the 16 competitors who win two times will advance to the next round which will then take place here in the main stadium."
Nico Smiley then held up his left hand. "And now it´s time to show the Duelists of the Junior Youth class their battle ground ! Dear competitors and audience, please turn your sights onto the ocean !"
Everyone in the stadium looked at the large TV screen of the stadium and it showed the ocean behind the stadium. There was a loud sound and a few seconds later a giant metal platform with grey fances around the edges rose up from the water.
Nico then spoke again. "100 Duelists have qualified for the Junior Youth class and their challenge will be a Battle Royale that will take place on this platform. The platform will be divided into four different areas based on the fields of the Action Field Ppell, Wonder Quartet, and the competitors are free to choose which of these areas they want to duel on." He then held up a black card.
"2000 point cards with point numbers from 1 to 12 are scattered all around the Action Field. Each player has to gather as much cards as they can and the 32 Duelists with the highest scores at the end of the Battle Royale will reach the next round. The Battle Royale will last for two days with a night-break of 12 hours for the competitors to rest."
He turned back to the students of the different Duel Schools. "Now to the rules. There are three ways to gather the point cards. First is that you search for them. Second, once you have a point card you can challenge other players for their point cards. That´s a must, after all, this is a tournament. The Duelist who wins the Duel gains the loser´s point card. How much cards each player wants to set is up to them. And the last way is to gain point cards from Duel monsters that are hidding throughout the Action Field, by battle them and destroy them."
"You can fight Duel monsters ? Really cool." Morgan said, excitment visible in her voice.
Nico continued. "And now to the newest addition to our tournament. All competitors of the Junior Youth class have got something before they entered the stadium. It´s a small headset like device that will be attached to the user´s ear. This device is a prototype for something that is being developed right now and it is meant to revolut Dueling in the future. For what exactly it is meant to be used for in the future is still uncartein. To test its curently available ability, Global Dueling company agreed to use it during the championship. This device is meant to sent informations to the user´s eyes. During the Battle Royale it will help you see where point cards are and they will send an information to you when you´re near a hidding Duel monster. It will also show you the data of those Duel monsters, and the device will also count as a comunication way to stay in touch with the referees."
The large TV screen of the stadium then showed the time. "Junior Youth class, you have twenty minutes to prepare. The Senior class I ask to make their way towards the Center Court of Harper Futuristics."
With that said, all competitors of the Senior class left the stadium followed by a large part of the crowd who wants to watch their Duels. The rest of the audience, which was still a lot, remained in the stadium to watch the matches of the Junior Youth.
"So, what´s the plan ?" Lynn asked.
"We are all rivals now so we really should split up for this. Which one do you guys want to go ?" Morgan asked.
"I would prefer the ice field. I have the feeling my monsters will have no problems there. Is that okay with you four ?" Lynn said with a smile.
"Sure. What about you Brody ?" Morgan said.
"I love it hot and fiery. I´ll take the lava area." Brody said with a grin.
"And you two ?" Morgan asked, turning to Ethan and Stacey.
"I´ll go to the ruins area." Ethan said.
"I think I´ll go there too. It´s the biggest of the four fields." Stacey said.
"Okay. Then I will go to the forest first and then to the ruins as well." Morgan said. "Meeting point is back here in the stadium for the night-break." She added and the others nodded. Morgan then smiled. "Alright. Then let´s get out there and give it our best !" She said with passion and her friends nodded with a smile. All five then put on their white-framed headset-like device around their left ear. (For the comlete discription see back to chapter 8.)
Nico Smiley then pointed at the clock and it showed that it was only five minutes left. "The starting time is almost upon us. All competitors, please prepare your Duel Disk !"
All of the competitors activated their Duel Disks and the words " Battle Royal Mode " appeared on their screens. The whole stadium cheered in excitment and Nico held out his hand. "Open the gate."
A part of the spectator seats then got lifted up and an opening leading out to the platform appeared. "And now let´s set the field for our competitors, activating the Action Field, Wonder Quartet !" The Real Solid Vision under the platform activated and glowing pixals surrounded the platform. The platform was then divided into four fields. A lava field, an ancient city ruins field, a jungle and an ice field.
It was now less then a minute left as Nico begun with the battle chant. "Duelists locked in battle ! Kicking against the earth and dancing in the air alongside their monsters, they storm through this field ! Behold, this is the latest and greatest evolution of dueling ! Action...!"
"DUEL !" All competitors shouted at the same time. Nico then snapped his fingers and the clock became 12.00. Action Cards then were scattered all across the fields. All competitors then run out before spliting up once they reached the Action Field.
Nico looked at the audience. "Now then, which of this young Duelists will have the highest scores when the time is up and advance to the next round ? Let´s all watch and find out."
The audience cheered with excitment and four large holografic screens appeared in the middle of the stadium, each one showing one of the four fields.
Twenty minnutes later in the lava area
Brody was moving through the lava field and then saw a black card stuck in the ground before him. He jumped down and picked up the card. It had a red five on which means this card is worth five points. He smiled. "That´s my second one. This is easier then I thought."
He was about to put the card into his pocket when he heard a voice. "Now look who we have here. It´s been a while, Kamiya."
Brody looked up and saw a boy with black hair standing on the cliff right across from him over the lava stream. He wore red pants, a white shirt, black sneakers and a grey jacket with the symbol of Harper Futuristics on the back. ( It´s a star-like symbol ). Brody then recognized him. It was someone who had challenged him to a Duel a few monthes ago. "Shin ?"
Shin looked at Brody with a smirk on his face. "That´s right. You know, I thought if I got the chance to face any of you You Show losers in this tournament then I would definitely make up for my lose against you." He then held up two point cards, each one having eight points. "So what do you say ? You brave enough to bet both of your point cards ?"
Brody narrowed his eyes while he was thinking about this hard. If he lost both cards then he would be at the beginning again, however, if he won, then he would have four and would be quite safe if he did lose a Duel during the Battle Royale.
Brody got a smirk on his face. He took out his other point card and held up both of them. "You´re on, let´s do this."
Shin´s smirk grew bigger. "Great. But how about we spice things up even more ? I heard from some younger kids who attend your school that you have Pendlum cards as well. So how about the winner takes two of his choice from the loser´s deck ?"
Brody got a shocked expression on his face before his smirk returned. "Let me guess, my Odd-Eyes or my Magicians ?"
Shin nodded. "That´s right. So, are you brave enough to accept this bet ?"
Brody closed his eyes with a smile. "Normally I wouldn´t accept a bet like that. But I don´t fear you so let´s do it."
Same time inside the stadium
Nico pointed at the monitor of the lava area. "Get ready everyone ! In the lava area, Brody Kamiya from the You Show Duel School is going to face off against Shin Sawatari from Harper Futuristics Duel School."
"Do you think it was a good idea from your little brother to bet on his Pendulum cards." Mamoru, Emma´s old friend said as he sat down next to her.
"Don´t worry. He knows what he is doing." Emma said.
"Maybe. But you know he can be a hothead from time to time." Mamoru said with a small smile.
"It´s still fine. Brody accepted this bet because he knows that he will win. He dueled Shin once before." Emma said.
"But just because he won the first time doesn´t mean he´ll win the second time as well. Everyone can become stronger." Mamoru said.
"Of course. It´s been months since Brody dueled Shin... but the arrogance that a lot of students from Harper Futuristics have... Brody won´t lose to someone like that." Emma replied.
Back in the lava area
Brody and Shin each drew their first five cards, both of them looked at their cards.
TURN 1 Shin LP 4000 Hand 5 / Brody LP 4000 Hand 5
Shin grabbed a card in his hand and revealed that it was a Spell card. "I´ll go first and I´ll start things off by activating Graceful Charity which lets me draw three cards as long as I discard two from my hand." Shin drew three cards and looked at them before he grabbed two and placed them in his graveyard. He then grabbed a card from his hand. "Next I summon Lancer Lindwurm in attack mode." A green humanoid dragon with yellow armor and a large lance in its hands came to the field.

("Wonder if he changed his deck ? He hadn´t used this monster last time.") Brody thought. ("Or his deck is a bit of a mix, just like mine and Morgan´s are ?")
"And with that I end my turn. Now show me what you got, Kamiya." Shin said.
TURN 2 Brody LP 4000 Hand 5 / Shin LP 4000 Hand 4
Brody placed his fingers on his deck. "It´s my move." He drew his sixth card before looking at Shin. "I also activate a Spell, Miracle Pendulum Draw. Now a random Pendulum monster is sent from my deck to my extra deck and then I get to draw cards equal to its level." A card came out of his deck and he grabbed and looked at it. He then revealed it and it was his Stargazer Magician. "It´s the level five Stargazer Magician which means that I´ll get to draw five more cards." Brody placed his Magician face up in his extra deck before he drew five more cards and looked at them.
Shin looked at Brody with a smirk. "I´m guessing you got enough to Pendulum Summon now right ? To bad you can´t thanks to your own Spell."
"Just because I can Pendulum Summon doesn´t mean I have to. I can beat you without it." Brody replied as he held up a card. "I activate another Spell, A Dragon´s first Step ! I can special summmon one level four or lower monster. Appear, Action-Buddy Silver Claw !" A wolf with silver and white fur and long silver claws appeared. It has blue eyes, a dark blue spiky fur-mane and on each cheek a small orange star.

"Next I summon Baby Dragon in attack mode." A small rather muscular red Dragon with brown eyes and grey claws appeared.

Brody patted the small dragon´s head. "Sadly this little guy won´t stay for long since I am using his effect to give me a Tribute Summon. And for this he even counts as two monsters." Baby Dragon waved his claw before disappearing. Brody now grinned. "Tribute Summon ! Welcome to the battle, Odd-Eyes Pendlum Dragon !" Odd-Eyes appeared besides Brody and roared.

"It was so obvious that you would bring him out." Shin said.
"What´s wrong ? Scared ?" Brody mocked. He jumped up on Silver Claw´s back and then pointed at Lancer Lindwurm. "Silver Claw, attack Lancer Lindwurm !" Silver Claw roared and jumped down from the cliff and jumped over the lava stream and jumped up the cliff before he launched himself at Shin´s monster which tried to stab him with its lance, however Silver Claw dodged it.
"When Silver Claw declares an attack, all Action-Buddy monsters on my field gain 300 attack points during the Battle Phase."

Lancer Lindwurm once again tried to stab Silver Claw with his lance but the wolf used the claws on his right paw to slash it in half. He then jumped towards Lancer Lindwurm and slashed him with the claws on both of his front paws and destroyed it while Shin shielded his face.

Silver Claw then jumped backwards and landed in front of the lava stream below the cliff. Brody held out his hand towards Odd-Eyes. "Now direct attack, Odd-Eyes !" The Dragon jumped into the air and unleashed a powerful energy beam that hit Shin.

At the Stadium
Nico had an excited smile on his face. "Awasome. Brody Kamiya was able to deal almost 3000 points of damage in his first turn !"
The audience also looked pretty excited over Brody´s turn.
Back to the Duel
Silver Claw ATK/1800
Silver Claw jumped up on the cliff on the opposite side of Shin and Brody jumped off of him and turned towards Shin. "With that I end my turn."

"I draw !" Shin looked at the card before playing it on his duel disk. "I summon Totem Dragon in attack mode." A stone dragon appeared on Shin´s field.

Brody raised an eyebrow when he saw Totem Dragon. ("A monster with 300 attack points in attack mode ? It must have a strong special ability if he summoned it in attack mode.") He thought to himself while he narrowed his eyes a bit.
"Next I place one card face down and end my turn." A card appeared in front of Shin before it vanished.
TURN 4 Brody LP 4000 Hand 6 / Shin LP 1200 Hand 3
"Then I´m up. Draw !" Brody added his drawn card to his hand before he looked at Totem Dragon and Shin´s face down card. ("I already have everything I need but I still don´t know what he is planning so I should still be carefull.") He thought and then grabbed two cards. "First I set two cards face down." Both cards appeared before him and then vanished again. Brody then pointed at Totem Dragon. "Alright Odd-Eyes, attack his Totem Dragon !"
Odd-Eyes jumped into the air and unleashed his Spiral Flame Strike atttack. The attack hit and destroyed the small stone Dragon. Shin only smirked. "Bad move, Kamiya. When Totem Dragon is destroyed in battle then I can special summon a level seven or higher monster from my graveyard, and I won´t take any battle damage either."
Brody´s eyes widened when he heard Shin say that with a confident tone. "Say what ?!" He was sure that Totem Dragon had some kind of ability, however he never expected that Shin would be able to summon a high level monster from his graveyard.
A card came out of Shin´s graveyard slot and he held it up. "The card I special summon is Kagachi The Samurai Lord." A large green lizard then appeared, wearing red and balck armour. It holds a sword.

Brody stayed calm whilst thinking and smiling a bit to himself. ("I´ve never seen someone summoning a high level monster from the graveyard like this. Not bad.")
"I end my turn by switching Silver Claw to defence mode." He said and his monster lay down.

"Then it´s my move again. I summon Eidos the Underworld Squire." Shin said and a dark fiend in grey armour with sharp claws came onto the field.

"I play his effect to give me a Tribute Summon. Be gone Eidos !" The monster disappeared again and Shin played a new monster. "Come forth Caius The Shadow Monarch !" A dark shadowy figure with a black cape was summoned. He had white horns and red eyes.
Shin then smirked more. "And now, I´m about to show you my new power."
Brody narrowed his eyes a bit. He had the feeling to know what will happen next. "New power ? So the rumours are true. Duelists using new Summons."
"Yep. Not long ago, numerous people of different schools came to our school and wanted to know why their decks changed while they were dueling. We wanted that to know too since students from us had those changes as well so we started some resarches and came to the result that we are now able to use new Summoning methodes. And this also now means that you from You Show are no longer so special."
("Oh man, when all students from Harper Futuristcs are so arrogant like him then we do the world a favor by beating them.") Brody thought before he grinned. "Well then, show me what you got."
"I will ! I activate my face down Ritual Spell, Warrior´s Burning Soul ! With this I can Ritual Summon a Ritual monster by tributing a monster I control and a monster you control whoes combined levels equal the level of my Ritual monster."
Shin then pointed at Silver Claw. "I tribute your Silver Claw and my Caius ! Ritual Summon ! Appear ! Leo The Beast Monarch !" A large humanoid lion wearing dark red armour appeared once Silver Claw and Caius became energy and flew into a magic cyrcle that formed on the ground.
Leo The Beat Monarch ATK/3200 DEF/2000 Dark/Beast-Warrior/Ritual/Lv. 10
"During the turn he is Ritual Summoned, Leo gains 500 attack points until the end of the battle phase !" Shin said and the Ritual monster roared loudly.
Leo ATK/3700
"Now attack, my lion ! Your prey today is Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon !" The large humanoid lion charged forward. He slashed Odd-Eyes with his big right paw that has short but very sharp claws, destroying the Dragon. This created an explosion which made Brody shield his face with his right arm.
Brody LP 4000 (-1200) 2800
"Direct attack Kagashi !" The lizard-warrior hissed loudly before running towards Brody with his sword stretched out. Brody started to look around, trying to find an Action Card. He then saw one behind him and started running towards it. However, just as he was about to grab it, Shin´s monster reached him and slashed at his back with his sword, making Brody fall onto his stomach. The Action Card was blown away in the process and the image on the card showed that it was the Action Spell Evasion.

"When you defeated me last time I plunged myself into training so I would never lose again to someone from such a weak school like you come from. And as I got the power to Ritual Summon, I knew I would be able to defeat you." Shin said again, showing his arrogance.
"Think whatever you want. I will still be the winner of this Duel." Brody said while slowly getting up.
"Is that so ?" Shin said. Leo ATK/3200
"Yes ! Because now, I´m all fired up !" Brody replied with a huge grin. "Since you destroyed a Pendulum monster I controled, I can now tribute Action-Buddy Spikeagle from my hand and special summon this ! Appear ! Odd-Eyes Lancer Dragon !"
Shin was shocked. "No way ?! You have another Odd-Eyes Dragon ?!"
A ring made out of fire appeared in the air. Flames then shot out of the ring and onto Brody´s field. Those flames formed the silhouette of a large dragon. A mighty roar surrounded the field and the flames disappeared, revealing and Odd-Eyes Dragon with his head now looking similar to a golden spear. His body is now covered in brown armour and has sharp blades coming out of the armour on several points. The two spikes on his back are now darker in color and they also grew longer which makes them now wings. Those wings have a line of small red and green orbs on, and at the end of its tail extends a blade.

"I also activate one of my Traps ! Go, Soul Association of the Odd-Eyes Dragons ! When an Odd-Eyes Dragon monster is special summoned to my field then I can destroy a monster you control which has less or equal attack ! This means your Kagachi must leave now !"
Shin gritted his teeth as his monster disappeared. "I end my turn."
TURN 6 Brody LP 100 Hand 3 / Shin LP 1200 Hand 1
"Then I´m up, draw !" Brody smiled at his card. He played it on his Spell Zone. "I play the Spell, Odd-Eyes Reborn ! I can return an Odd-Eyes monster from my graveyard or extra deck and give it a power boost of 1000 ! Welcome back Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon !" Brody jumped up and landed on the back of his reborn Pendulum Dragon.
Odd-Eyes with Brody on his back landed beside Lancer Dragon and let out a powerful roar.

"Now Odd-Eyes, attack his Beast Monarch ! Spiral Flame Strike !" Brody shouted and Odd-Eyes fired his energy beam which colided with the lion. "When Odd-Eyes battles or destroyes a level five or higher monster, the battle damage is doubled ! Reaction Force !" The red and green orbs on Odd-Eyes started to glow and the force of his energy beam got twice as intense. The lion roared in pain before getting destroyed.

"Great work buddy." Brody praised his Dragon with a smile. He then jumped onto his Lancer Dragon´s back. "Finish this, Odd-Eyes Lancer Dragon !" Brody hold on tight as Lancer Dragon roared and flew up into the sky.
"I don´t think so, Kamiya !" Shin jumped down from the cliff and landed besides the lava stream. There he found an Action Card. "I play the Action Spell, Big Escape !"
"That´s not going to work, Shin ! With Odd-Eyes Lancer Dragon´s effect, during battle Spell cards cannot be activated !" Brody shouted.
Shin got a shocked expression. "What ?!"
The Dragon´s lance-like head started to glow and he charged down. The Dragon´s head collided with Shin and he was sent backwards and landing on the ground.

Nico turned towards the audience with a big smile. "It has been settled. The winner of the first Duel during this Battle Royal is Brody Kamiya from the You Show Duel School !"
The audience cheered loudly. Emma and Mamoru both smiled. "He really has grown stronger." Mamoru said.
"Yes, he has. Along with his friends. I actually don´t know if there is anything left that I could teach them." Emma said, still smiling. ("Yes. They are growing up.")
Back to the lava area
Shin slowly sat up while he groaned. He then saw Brody standing a few feet away. "What ?"
"I won´t take away some of your cards, but please now give me the two point cards you set." Brody said.
"Hmpf !" Shin huffed before throwing his two point cards over to Brody. He then got up and walked away without saying another word. Brody sighed at this.
Action Field, Jungle Area
It´s been now three hours since the Battle Royale begun. Morgan was walking along the jungle area which was covered with trees. There was also a small river that flowed across the Action Field.
Morgan looked around whilst trying to get adjust to the headset-like device she was wearing around her left ear. ("This device is amazing. It projects the holografic informations so thin and near to the eye that it is impossible for someone else to see it when they look at you. Whilst the user can see the informations, it still doesn´t even effect your sight. You see your normal surroundings while the informations just pop up before your eye. A really cool technically advance.")
Ahead of Morgan was an object which caught her eye. She made her way to it and it was a point card. She bent down and picked it up. "Four points... not bad. That makes it twelve cards for me by now." Morgan then noticed the card was on a piece of rod. "What the- waaah !" The wire was pulled and Morgan was pulled along with it. She went flying through a bush and landed on the floor. After a few seconds she slowly got back up and rubbed her head. "Ouch... what on earth was that...?"
Looking up there was a huge face staring right at her. Morgan freaked out and fell back down to the floor. Before Morgan was a male dressed as a fisherman. He smirked and begun to let off a gloating laugh. "Well I caught my first catch !"
"Who the hell are you ?!" Morgan shouted.
"Ha. My name is Teppei. Now hand over your point cards !"
"Not going to happen !" Morgann replied firmly.
"Just do it." Teppei said with a smirk.
"No ! I won´t give in to bullies !" Morgan said as she jumped back up.
"Bullies ?! I´m just trying to obtain cards !"
"Then duel me !" Morgan replied.
"I... I would but..." Teppei started to stutter a bit.
"But nothing ! Duel me now !" Morgan held up her Duel Disk.
"Now now... my deck is far to strong. I´m giving you a chance to avoid a crushing defeat !" He said innocently.
"If you´re so scared to duel then you´re free to leave." Morgan said with a smal grin.
Teppei gritted his teeth. "Fine ! I´ll duel you ! But don´t say I didn´t warn you !"
Meanwhile outside the stadium
In a dark alley in the central district, a multi-colored portal appeared and two cloaked figures walked out of it.
"So this is another world ? It´s not that much different then ours." One of them said.
"Concentration Ren ! We are here on a mission !" The other one replied and then took the hood of her cloak down. It revealed a girl with hip leangth blonde hair which also has a purple strand going through her hair on the right side and red eyes.
The girl´s companion also put his hood down and so revealed himself as a boy with spiky yellow-blonde hair and blue eyes. He wears a cromsion red headband.
"Yeah... what was our mission actually ?" The boy asked with a smirk.
"Urgh ! We´re here in this world to find the source of the energy that will let us travel through the worlds. And we have the order to find our siblings who live in this world, but that won´t be so easy since this city seems to be as big as an entire continent and-"
"Found them." The boy said bluntly while pointing at a few TV screens that were inside a store window.
"You must be kidding..." Said the girl as she walked over and looked at the screens. One of them showed Morgan who is about to duel Teppei whilst another one showed the faces of competitors who already won a Duel. One of them was Brody.
"See ? That girl has the same face as you Celina, and that boy has the same face as me. They have to be your sister and my brother."
"I guess you´re right, Ren. And it seems like they are taking part at a Duel-tournament. Let´s watch them both for a while to find out what they are capable of." Celina said.
Back to the Jungle Field
TURN 1 Teppei LP 4000 Hand 5 / Morgan LP 4000 Hand 5
"I start with this ! The field spell, A Legendary Ocean !" Said Teppei as he placed the Spell card into his Duel Disk.
"A Field Spell ?" Said Morgan. The field begun to change from a grassy forest to an arena of water. Morgan looked around as water appeared from below and quickly grew higher and higher. Eventually the two were submerged under a giant ocean.
"This field spell is treated as the legendary card Umi. Next all Water monsters in both our hands have their levels reduced by one !"
("Levels reduced ? He must have high level monsters then.") Morgan thought.
"Now since you had the nerve to challenge me to a Duel, I will have to end this quick-"
"What do you mean nerve ?!" Morgan said, interupting him. "This is a tournament, not a collection contest !"
"I had a cunning plan all worked out and you went and ruined it !" Teppei shouted in a childish-like manner. "Because of my field spell, I can bring out the Legendary Fisherman !" A bare-chested male on a blue shark with red eyes appeared. He held a harpoon in his right hand.

"While Umi is on the field it is unaffected by Spells and it can´t be targeted for an attack."
("That Field Spell is protecting that monster.") Morgan thought.
"I set a card and end my turn. Now let´s see what you have got !" Teppei said. "You might qualified for this tournament, but I doubt you are all that !"
TURN 2 Morgan LP 4000 Hand 5 / Teppei LP 4000 Hand 2
"You´re a real jerk with a big ego. I draw !" Morgan replied. She took a card from her hand. "I play Mystical Space Typhoon and take out your Field Spell !" A hurricane formed in the water and slowly the water was destroyed. "Now your monster is vulnerable !"
"Don´t think so ! I play a continuous Trap ! Sea Stealth Attack !" A Trap card on Teppei´s side lifted up and activated. "When activated, I can activate a Umi directly from my hand or graveyard ! I activate one from my hand !" The field begun to fill with water once more as Teppei played the actual Umi card this time.
"During my turn as well ?! I thought I got rid of that. Fine. I play another Spell, my Magical Pendulum Box ! I can draw two cards and when they are Pendulum monsters I can keep them. Otherwise I have to sent them to the graveyard."
"Already playing on luck, are we ?" Teppei said in a mocking tone.
"You call it luck, I call it trusting in my deck." Morgan said as she placed her fingers on her deck. "Here we go !" She drew two cards and smiled once she looked at them. She then held both cards out. "I set my Pendulum Scale with Scale 1 Yuna the Melodious Angel and Scale 8 Winged Pendulum Kuriboh !" Morgan slammed both cards onto her Duel Disk and the rainbow word "PENDULUM" appeared. Both monsters rose up in a pillar of light. Yuna, a girl with yellow eyes, white hair and small white wings on each side of her head. She wears a black sleevless dress with the bottom half looking like white piano keys and long black gloves.
Kuriboh, a small brown fluffy ball with small green arms and legs and a pair of small white wings.

"I Pendulum Summon ! Appear !" Two beams shot out of the Pendulum portal and appeared on the field. "First is my Spirit The Pendulum Wolf !" Morgan´s wolf with orange-gold fur, green eyes, a white fur tail and a white fluffy-spiky mane on its neck appeared. "Finally I bring out Action-Buddy Time Warrior !" A young boy with spiky brown hair and wearing black armour and a black cape appeared.

"Not for long. I set two cards and end there." Morgan replied.
TURN 3 Teppei LP 4000 Hand 1 / Morgan LP 4000 Hand 0
"I draw !" Teppei looked at his card and smiled with a big grin. "I tribute my Legendary Fisherman to bring out the Legendary Fisherman 3 via its effect !" Fisherman swam high up and disappeared. A flash of light appeared and then a shirtless male on a purple whale appeared. He had a harpoon gun in one hand while he held a net in the other hand.

"What can this one do ?!" Morgan asked.
"Let me show you ! I can banish all monsters you control !" Teppei said with a smirk.
"What ?!" Morgan said. Fisherman-3 swam forward and opened up his net. He quickly tried to scoop up the monsters within the net.
"I use my Trap ! Cry of the Wolf ! If a card effect would make more than one monster I control leave the field, I can negate it !" Spirit howled and the sound drove Fisherman away. Morgan closed her eyes. "However you draw one card because of it." Teppei smiled and drew a card.
"Fine ! I play this ! Rage of Kairyu-Shin !" Teppei showed off a Spell card. "If Umi is on my field, I can destroy as many monsters you control X the amount of water monsters I control whose original level is higher then five. I wipe out your Pendulum Wolf !"
Morgan watched as her monster was destroyed. "Now go my Fisherman !" The monster turned to Morgan and charged forward. He shot his harpoon gun which hit Time Warrior, destroying it.
Morgan LP 4000 (-800) 3200
"I respond with my second Trap ! Sliding Wind ! I return my two Pendulum Scales to my hand, then that many Spells and Traps you control are destroyed !" A strong wind blew towards the Pendulum Scales and Morgan´s monsters were returned. A wind then blew towards Teppei, he had to shield his face as his Sea Stealth Attack and Umi were destroyed.
"Damn. I end my turn with a set card." Teppei said.
TURN 4 Morgan LP 3200 Hand 2 Teppei LP 4000 Hand 1
"Time to win your point card !" Shouted Morgan as she drew. "I set my two scales again and now return to my field my Spirit The Pendulum Wolf !" The Pendulum portal opened and Spirit returned from the Extra Deck.

"I play a Continuous Trap ! Eisbahn ! While I control a water monster, whenever you normal or special summon a monster that isn´t a water-type, that monster is placed into defence mode. Thanks to my Fisherman, your monster is changed !" Teppei said. Spirit was forced to lay down into defence mode. "Now your options are over !"
"Not really." Morgan said with a smirk. "Thanks to an old friend of my brother I found a way to bypass something like that. I send Kuriboh Knight to my graveyard and now only during this turn my monsters are allowed to attack while being in face-up defence position !"
Teppei laughed. "What good will that do ?! You´re monster is not strong enough !"
"I use Yuna´s Pendulum Effect to half your Fisherman´s attack and defence !" Morgan shouted.
Fisherman ATK/1250 DEF/1000
"Spirit destroyes your Fisherman !" The wolf jumped onto Teppei´s monster and slashed its chest with his claw, destroying it.

"I end my turn with that." Morgan said.
"Dammit." Teppei said. "But your monster will still stay stuck in defence mode !"
"Yes. But if you fail to get a good card then I will win on my next turn." Morgan replied.
TURN 5 Teppei LP 1250 Hand 1 / Morgan LP 3000 Hand 0
"Let´s see. Draw !" Teppei looked at his hand and panicked. "No ! I can´t do anything with this !" He had drawn the level five, The Legendary Fisherman-2.
TURN 6 Morgan LP 3000 Hand 0 / Teppei LP 2350 Hand 2
Morgan drew her card. "Exactly what I need. I play the Spell, Trap Shattering Arrow and destroy your Continuous Trap !" A large green arrow hit Teppei´s Trap, destroying her, and Morgan´s wolf howled loudly as he got back into attack mode.
"Now end this, Spirit !" Morgan shouted with a smile and her monster leapt forward and hit Teppei. He went flying across the forest floor.
Teppei LP 2350-0 / Morgan WIN
Morgan walked towards Teppei and bent down with her hand out. She wanted his point card. Teppei gave off an innocent laugh. "Hey... how about we work together ?! We could get a lot of point cards ! I will take ninety percent out of course !"
Morgan sighed. "Just give me your point card." Teppei looked defeated as he gave Morgan his point card. "Thank you." Morgan begun to walk off but stopped and looked back at him. Somehow she felt a bit sorry for him. She sighed. "Hey. Maybe you have more luck on your next catch. Just don´t give up." She smiled at him and then walked away. Teppei looked shocked for a moment, but then he smiled a bit.
Outside, not to far away from the stadium
Ren smirked. "Wow. An amazing Summon. Didn´t expected for this world to have such a strong Summoning method. If I recall correctly, Master said that this world only has Tribute Summoning."
"That´s the reason why we should gather more information. After seeing her Duel I can definitely say that she not even used half of her strength. Very impressive I must admint." Celina said.
"Then I say let us go to the stadium. I´m curious of what will happen next." Ren said, still smirking.
Action Field Wonder Quartet, Ruins Area
On a half destroyed bridge in the ruins area, Ethan was in the middle of a Duel against a student from the Sonic Riders Duel School. They are Duelists who use skatboard tricks during a Duel to grab Action Cards. Both Ethan and his opponent had no monsters on the field, but Ethan was down to 400 lifepoints, and he had no cards in hand. The next draw will decide it, and he knows that.
TURN 5 Ethan LP 400 Hand 0 / Boy LP 1500 Hand 2
Ethan placed his hand on his deck. ("Come on. Please give me the card I need.") He thought. "Alright, it´s all or nothing. I draw !" He drew his card and looked at it. A smile came to his face. "Oh yes ! It´s time to end this ! I summon Two-Headed King Rex in attack mode !" At this a large purple dinosaur with purple wings, yellow claws and two heads appeared. Each head had three yellow horns, one on each cheek and one on the nose.

Ethan pointed at his opponent. "That was it for you ! My Two-Headed King Rex now attacks you directly ! And don´t even try to play something. My King Rex can negate a card effect once per turn." At Ethan´s command, each head then fired a ball of flames towards the boy who got hit and sent flying backwards.
Boy LP 1500-0 / Ethan WIN
Ethan took the two point cards his opponent had set and then sighed. This was a hard Duel, not even his ace could help him much this time. But he won and that´s what counts. As he then was about to search for his next opponent, he heard someone call out to him. "This was a really good Duel. I never thought that You Show Duel School would have so much good Duelists." A male voice said.
"What ?" Ethan said as he turned around. He then saw a teenage boy with red hair walking out from behind a destroyed house. It was Akio.
"What do you want, Akio ?" Ethan asked.
"A Duel of course. That´s why all of us are here." Akio replied with an innocent smile.
Ethan glared at him. "I didn´t mean that. You came to me for another reason."
"You´re quite smart. And you´re right with that. I did came here for another reason despite dueling you." Akio replied.
"And that reason would be ?" Ethan asked as he then looked slightly over his right shoulder as he heard something approach from behind. It were two other boys, Akio´s friends, Ethan guessed.
Akio activated his Duel Disk. "I have something to clarify with Morgan, and to make sure that she understands how serious it is, I want you to deliver a message to her."
"Why does people like you keep bullying her. She hasn´t done anything bad !" Ethan shouted with anger. Akio shrugged. "It´s fun. But I don´t think friendship-cherishing people like you would understand that. So, are you accepting the Duel with each one of us setting three point cards ?"
Ethan balled his fist in anger. "Hurting others isn´t funny at all !" He shouted before activating his Duel Disk. "I accept your challenge since you and your friends wouldn´t let me go otherwise."
"You´re right again. And once I´m done with you all from You Show, you won´t even have the courage left to ever duel again." Akio said with a smirk.
"You first have to defeat me, but that won´t happen !" Ethan replied firmly.
"We shall see. I´ll make sure Morgan gets the message. And now let´s duel !" Akio said, still smirking.
