Chapter 7: Stories of the Past

Link nodded his head, crossing his arms in thought. "And I'm guessing the times I did not get with Zelda, I actually had real love with someone else? Someone closer to me?"

Cia nodded her head. "Yes. For instance, the Hero of Time married a zora princess." The white haired sorceress said. "While Hero of the Sky fell in love with Zelda." She continued on, watching as Link nodded his head. "There were a few instances though that you never married or fell in love. You see... while your soul always appears during a time of darkness, it still would still return during a time of peace. In those times you were never a hero and normally lead a simple life sometimes falling in love, sometimes not."

The hero dropped his arms to his side. "I see..." He said softly, looking down. "Could you... Tell me about one of those times?" He asked, looking up at Cia.

The woman nodded her head. "Of course Link, but before that, how about we all go back to the Temple of Souls?"

Link nodded his head. "Sure."

As he spoke Lana and Cia got around the hero and began chanting the same spell they had before. As they finished, the trio vanished.

-Purified Temple of Souls-

Link, Cia, and Lana all appeared back within the courtyard of the temple in a flash of light, Link once again stumbling from the disorienting feeling. Cia pulled up next to Link to help steady him, a smile on her dark skinned face.

"Thank you, Cia." Link said, looking at the woman with a smile on his face.

"Of course." She replied, allowing the man to stand on his own after a moment. "Are you okay now?"

Link nodded his head. "Yeah I'm fine. Same as last time, just got dizzy."

Lana smiles at Link and Cia. "So... the world is now fully safe. All the fragments are all sealed away in different time eras with an added layer of protection, and the master sword sealing the final one."

Cia looks over to her other half and nods. "Yes." She says softly, before looking at Link. "Come, i'll take you to your room. We can relax and I can tell you that story you wanted to hear.

Link looked at the sorceress and nodded his head. He watched as she started walking away before quickly following her, and falling into step beside her.

Lana smiled watching the two walk away, her smile only widening when the hero reached out and took Cia's hand in his own. "Maybe... this is it. Maybe Link will return her feelings."

Cia smiled and held Link's hand tighter when she felt him grasp her own. She looked over at the hero and smiled brightly, leading him through the hallways. As she got to his room, she opened the door and lead the hero inside, closing the door behind them.

"Let's sit... I still feel a little dizzy." Link said slowly pulling away from the violet eyed woman. He took a seat on the couch and looked at Cia, smiling warmly at her.

Cia returned Links smile and walked over sitting next to the man. "Link... before I start this I just want to... eepp." She began to say before letting out a small squeak, feeling the hero's arm wrap around her waist and pull her closer so they were touching. "Link?" She questioned.

Link just smiled at the woman. "You were gonna tell me a story?" He asked, ignoring her confused look at his embrace.

"Y... yes.." She said stuttering having not expected Link to pull her so close. She wiggled around slightly, before relaxing. "So... what did you wanna hear about?"

"How about you telling me about one of my more... normal lives, instead of a heros." The man suggested.

Cia nodding as she went through her memories. "Well... there was one time you were a simple ranch hand. Led a simple life and even found love with a normal old village girl."

"Oh?" He said, looking at the woman whom he held. "That sounds pretty odd."

"Perhaps. The oddest part was that you never trained with any kind of weapons, but you were a natural when it came to a hoe or sickle on the farm." Cia explained with a giggle.

Link chuckled as alongside Cia. "So... no traveling?" He asked.

"Oh you traveled. The farm you worked on supplied the Castle normally. So you would normally travel there once a week, but because it was during a time of peace no attacks ever came."

Link nodded his head. "Did I ever even meet Zelda?"

"No actually. Since you were a farmer you were never let inside the castle, but who you did meet was a simple girl in the town around the castle." Cia said with a smile. "She was just a simple market girl, selling homemade baskets."

Link blinked hearing how he fell for a market girl. "Are you serious?" He asked.

"I am. Though since you're interested in me because of my skin... I'm not really surprised anymore." Cia said with a smirk. "You see... the market girl was a gerudo."

Link blinked as he looked at Cia in surprise. "A gerudo? Seriously?" He asked in shock.

"I am." Cia said with a giggle. "Normally you spent the night in town then went home in the morning, so you would spend time wandering around. She would find you and spend time with you, though I have to say that was probably one of the funniest of your courtships I've seen." She said openly laughing.

Link frowns as he looks at Cia. "And what was so funny about it?"

"You were dense as a mule." The dark skinned woman said with a laugh. "She made so many obvious advances on you and you had no idea she was interested in you."

Link blinked before looking down. "Your serious? I was that dense?" He said sadly.

Cia nodded her head. "It ended up she came to your village one day and just finally told you flat out, 'I love you Link', before kissing you. At that point you understood that she loved you... I mean if you didn't you would be a moron."

Link let out a sigh at hearing how dense he was. "How often did something like that happen? Me being that dense?" He asked looking up at the sorceress.

"Not very often to be honest Link." Cia said leaning her head over to lay it on the hero's shoulder. "The reason you were so dense was because you had lived alone for most of your life, so you were a loner."

Link nodded his head in understanding, keeping the sorceress close to him. "Any other interesting non hero lives?"

Cia thought for a moment before smirking. "One comes to mind actually. Kinda similar to you actually." She said turning her head slightly so she could see Link better, but remain laying on his shoulder. "Though... also very different as well." She says with a grin.

"Your making me think I was some sort of bandit or something." Link said worriedly.

"Oh nothing of the sort. You were a simple knight for Hyrule." Cia said her bright grin still plastered on her face. "Who was the younger sister of Princess Zelda."

"So... Zelda was my little sister at one time, that's actually..." Link began to say before Cia stopped him.

"No. You were Zelda's little sister." Cia said with a smirk.

Link looked at Cia confused. "So let me understand this... your saying I was Zelda's little sister?" He asked and watched as Cia nodded. "Sister? As in a girl?" He asked again only to see her nod again. "Ummmm... I have no idea how to respond to that."

"Who also married the Zora Princess of that era." Cia said in a sing-song voice.

"So... your saying... I was a girl... who fell in love with another girl?" Link asked only to see Cia nod again. "Well then..." He said as his nose twitched.

"Link? Your nose is bleeding." Cia said watching as a small line of blood ran down from the hero's nose.

"Sorry..." Link said reaching over to grab a napkin to wipe the blood off. "That is..."

"Hot? Kinky?" Cia asked with a smirk, only to watch as Link turned to look at her in shock. "What? No need to deny it. I thought it was rather hot when I first saw it." She said, shrugging her shoulders. "I wouldn't have minded one bit getting with that Link."

Link continued to hold the napkin to his nose, not wanting to risk it bleeding more as he felt it twitch. "So... If I may ask... Why did that me get with a girl? I figured I would get with a guy in that aspect."

Cia shook her head, closing her eyes to relax. "The champion's soul likes girls, so even when you are a girl you would get with a girl."

Link blinks staring at the sorceress. "Wait... how your wording it makes it sound like it happened a few times."

"More than a few actually." The white haired woman admits. "Actually... I distinctly remember one time. Instead of the mighty hero, you were a damsel in distress." The dark skinned woman said with a smile with her eyes closed. "Someone kidnapped you from Hyrule Castle right under the watchful eye of your mother, Queen Zelda."

Link blinked at the woman he held close. "So... Zelda was my big sister once, and my mother at one point?"

"Yep." The sorceress said with a smirk. "Would you like to know about what happened to Princess Linkle?"

"Linkle? Really?" Link asked looking at Cia dumbfounded at the name, only for her to nod. "Alright so what happened."

"You were kidnapped by a Gerudo who took you to their stronghold. You were kept there for over five years." Cia said sadly. "Zelda tried everything to get you back but nothing worked. She had actually given up hope." She said looking up at Link. "But then a single knight who refused to give up on her Princess, left. She was able to sneak into the stronghold and find her. After breaking her free she and the princess was able to make their escape, with the knight actually having to carry the princess because of her weakened state."

"I'm guessing this knight was the one I fell in love with after?" The hero asked sweetly as he just leaned back and held the sorceress.

"No. She refused to give up on her princess, cause she and the princess had already secretly been together." Cia says with a giggle. "Wanna know who the knight was? You know her actually."

"Who..." Link asked partially scared, he only knew of a few female knights and most of them scared him.

"Impa."

The hero paled at the thought of him and Impa together. "How..."

"Well she was protecting you since you were born. She was assigned to be your guard when she was only eight." Cia said with a smile. "She was a lot different than the Impa you know, but looked just the same."

"Okay how about another story? The idea of me and Impa is a little weird." Link says with a shudder.

Cia nods her head as she just enjoyed being close to the hero.

Link and Cia spent most of the night with the sorceress telling Link of his different lives throughout the past. Some more odd than others.

One such story was of Link being born a gerudo before Ganondorf's time, and becoming the King of the gerudo. This Link had formed an alliance with Hyrule. One that was pushed to the limits with King Links own people began to rebel for him forming the alliance. Though this Link, due to the unrest of his people never fell in love.

Another story was of the twins, Link and Zelda, but they were greatly different from each other. Instead of Link being a mighty knight, he was brought up as the heir to the throne, while his twin was taught to wield a sword and magic in order to protect her twin brother. Hyrule in this age was a peaceful place, and it became more so when Link took on his queen. A gerudo sorceress, named Lian, of outstanding power.

The oddest of Cia's story was of an outcast. Casted out of Hyrule to die for some crime he did not commit. This caused Link to change and grow darker and slowly start to hate Hyrule. It was during this time that Link had begun dabbling in dark magic in order to destroy the place that cast him out. He joined with another group that only wanted Hyrules destruction and soon began to attack the kingdom. Link had come close to destroying Hyrule but was stopped in the end by Zelda who locked him away for the remainder of his life.

After Cia had exhausted several of Link's life stories to him they had bid each other goodnight and Cia left to return to her own bedroom, her mind swirling around the fact that throughout each story, Link's attention remained on her and his arm holding her close to him.

Cia looked around her bedroom at the portraits she had of Link during many of his lives. Somehow... They seemed wrong.

"Well... I guess... it's time to get rid of them. After all, why do I need pictures when I have the real thing." The sorceress said with a smile, as she walked over to the nearest painting and took it down. "I mean... If all I do is pine for him, and not show him what he means to me... He'll never truly love me." She said softly, placing the picture down and began collecting the rest.

After collecting all the pictures in her bedroom, along with the ones in the gallery of the temple, she sealed them in a box with a smile as she ran her hand over the edge of the box. She stepped back and using her magic, teleported the box away.

"From now on, I won't look back." Cia said to herself walking over to a tea pot she had waiting for her. "The past is in the past. It's time for me to look to the future. A happier future." She said with a smile, picking up the pot and pouring herself a cup of tea. "A future... that I hope Link will be a part of." She continues as she takes a sip of the tea.
