Chapter 15- A Well Deserve Rest

We arrived at the village and many people are here as well to witness the exams. I was looking around in awe just seeing this. I looked over to Obito who was a bit worried for someone to notice him through his disguise. I reassured him.

"You'll be fine. Like I said it's been many years and I hardly think anyone will know you."

"I know Rin but it's just troublesome."

"Is daddy getting scared?"

We look down at our son who was getting worried. Obito smiled and picked him up.

"Nah, I'm just cautious that's all."

He rub his head and Isamu laughed. There someone met up with us.

"It sure is nice to see some familiar faces."

"Kakashi!"

Obito put our son down and gave Kakashi a warm hug. Kakashi smiled and hugged him back. We greeted him as well.

"Yes my old friend it has been awhile. How have things been?"

"Pretty alright but there's something I must make awhile to you guys."

Kakashi wave us on to an isolated area and there he spoke the news.

"Recently, there's been some activity surrounding the tailed beasts."

"What do you mean?"

"Rin, Sasuke reported that he encountered followers of Kaguya."

"Wait so their real?"

"Yes and there's three of them. They already have collected some of the tailed beast's power. Right now Naruto is aware and he thinks they might show themselves during the exams."

I was quiet because I was processing on what was going on. Obito took over.

"What does that mean for Rin?"

"You guys are going to sit near Naruto. I'll nearby as well so don't worry."

We gave deep breathes of relief and our son seems to be confused on the situation. Once we were done, Kakashi lead us to the arena and it really had changed. We were put inside the Kage's box and I got the chance to meet some new faces. Though it's nice to see Garra in position still. Naruto went up to us and welcomed us.

"Hey guys, it's been awhile hasn't it."

"Yes lord seventh."

"Heh, you can still call me Naruto."

"Well alright then."

"I'm guessing Kakashi have already made you guys aware of the situation."

"Yes and this is a serious matter Naruto."

"I know Rin. For now just stick near me. Obito though I want you and Kakashi together scouting the area."

"Are you sure about that?"

Naruto nodded his head and Obito was hesitant at first but I made sure to not let him worry too much. Obito nod and both Kakashi and himself soon left. I sat down with my son on my lap. The matches were about to start and these new generation of kids are amazing. Especially Sarada and Boruto. They were really giving it their all and in the end it was down to them and another student. A triple threat fight. They went off and my son couldn't hold in his excitement. I was happy to see that but then I notice that Naruto was giving off a weird feeling. Could it be that enemy was nearby? That's when Isobu spoke into my head.

("Rin look closely at Boruto.")

I did and at first everything seemed fine but I noticed it. My senses have been a bit down but it's still at a good level to know when someone's chakra isn't being drained out.

("I don't understand. This doesn't feel right.")

("Yes and it seems Naruto is aware of it.")

Soon the match was over and Boruto came at top. Everyone seemed pleased by it but that's when Naruto went down to confront his own son. At first Boruto thought he was going to congratulate him but instead he exposed him. In the end, he was disqualified and I was shock by this. He even removed his son's headband and well Boruto finally spoke his feelings. It was a sad day to witness but out of nowhere I started sensing a powerful chakra energy right about us. I looked over the balcony and there it was them. I can tell by just looking at them that they were the ones Kakashi warn me about. The ground than began to shake and the arena was beginning to crack. The people of the village were soon being evacuated and I asked one of the Kage's to take Isamu to safety. I landed next to Naruto and there the enemy explain their story. So they were from the same clan as Kaguya and their goal is to restore the divine tree. So our foe went into the air and started launching his attack on us. I quickly turned into the tailed beast state and knocked off some of the attacks. Naruto as well turned into his chakra mode. We manage to knock most of his attacks but soon he started to form a massive tailed beast like bomb. So Naruto went into his tailed beast form and began to hold off the attack. I commanded Isobu to escape out of here before the blast goes off. Instead I was apprehended by one of the followers and I was soon knocked unconscious.

-Minutes Later-

"Rin wake up."

I slowly open my eyes and found myself bond to a giant tree. I struggle to break free but couldn't budge out. I look to my left and found Naruto in the same position. Then the man that captured us appeared before us. He explain that he is now going to extract our tail beast powers for his own. And so he put both his hand upon Naruto and I from there I can feel my chakra getting sucked out. I was screaming in pain and at the same time struggling to keep Isobu's power within me. I tried turning into the chakra second state but I couldn't complete it. I was close to passing out again until the man stopped to look up. I looked up as well to see the other kage's show up and free us from our shackles. I was falling till a familiar face showed up next to me.

"Obito!?"

"Hey there. Here let me cut you free."

He did so and he put me around his shoulder. We landed behind a rock and I was set down to rest for a bit. There I asked.

"Obito…what happen to you?"

"Kakashi and I were ambushed before we had time to give our awareness. After the explosion we thought that you guys have died. Sasuke though reassured that you two were sent here. So the Kage's including Boruto and I volunteer to rescue you and to defeat this enemy."

"Then what are we waiting for."

I got up and was about to turn into my tailed beast form though Obito raised a hand.

"No we can't. Sasuke insist that we don't interfere."

"What? Why?"

"This is something for Boruto to prove to Naruto."

"Prove him what?"

"That he is a true ninja."

I was a bit shock and grew a smile. Sasuke landed near us and said.

"Are you guys ready?"

"Yes we are."

"Alright I'm going to send you back. Don't worry about us because we won't be long."

Obito and I gave a thumbs up and Sasuke opened a portal for us. We walked through and upon the other side we were greeted by Sakura and Hinata. Other medical ninjas were nearby but I didn't need the aid. We explain to the two wives that everything is being situated. And sure enough after a few hours they returned. A celebration was put and the last thing I heard was that Boruto was given back his headband. Things soon went back to the way they were and Obito and I went back home. We said our goodbyes and our son was very eager to become a ninja soon.

-Years Later-

It's been so long since the incident and enough time to rethink on how my life has been. Though it was hard, I am glad with how my outcome has started. Our son is a full fledge ninja and throughout the years I prepared him for his training so he is ready to use Isobu's power. Though tragedy struck the village when an unknown attacker decimated the place. Boruto who was much older faced up against this foe. I don't know much on the battle but he managed to drive him away. Naruto on the other hand was in critical conditions and they tried their best to keep him going for a few days. In the end he was gone. Kurama was extracted out of Naruto and into the living world. He asked Boruto if he wishes to use his power but Boruto declined it. Kurama understood and he left to the distant mountains. Sasuke along with Sarada who has master her sharingan, went to locate the foe. In the end, only Sarada made it back thanks to Sasuke's Rinnegan. Still another tragic loss. Sasuke's Rinnegan though was given to Sarada and when she's ready she'll be able to use its power. Kakashi was appointed back into the Hokage position until an eighth one can be found. He didn't mind and well he's actually trying to convince the higher ups about appointing Obito. It took a while but they all agreed on it and soon Obito became the eighth hokage. I was very proud for him and the village respected him proudly. Yet those were ages ago.

As of now Sarada is the ninth and Boruto is out searching for answers on his mysterious powers that he awakened. As for me I'm just an old woman now. My days as a ninja are pass behind me. Kakashi and Obito were the first to go before me but I can feel my time coming soon. I sat on a rock looking out in the distance upon a cliff. I was watching the sun set down but soon I hear footsteps coming behind me. He sat next to me and I greeted him.

"I'm really glad to see you, Isamu."

"It's been awhile mother. How have you been?"

"I've been alright. I'm not always alone you know?"

"I know and I can feel him too."

"How's the village been doing?"

"It's been pretty alright. I've been sent out with my team to scout the areas here and there but things have been good."

"That's good."

We were quiet for a moment but I gave a deep breath and said.

"It's time Isamu."

"I know but you're barely eighty five. You can make it through it for a little longer."

"Yes but I feel as if it's time to see your father and Kakashi."

"Alright but can I request something?"

"What is it?"

He turned and looked at a tree. He called someone out.

"Hey come on out!"

I was a bit surprised to see her.

"Awe you should of told me she was here. How are you doing granddaughter?"

"I'm fine Grandma."

"That's sweet."

"Mom…I wish for you to give Yuriko the three tails power."

I pause and looked at my son and said.

"Are you sure? I don't think she is ready?"

"Mom she is. She is about Naruto's age when he first became a full fledge ninja of the village. I heard the stories of how Kurama was using his powers on him but in the end he mastered it at a young age."

"But Isamu-"

Yuriko cut me off.

"Grandma please!? Father has taught me enough about Isobu and his powers. I'm sure I can make a great bond with him just as you did."

"Then let me ask you this. What is your purpose for wanting his power?"

"I wish to protect my friends, family, and the village for all threats and understand my own purpose."

My eyes went wide for a bit because I saw a little bit of me within her. A tear fell from my eyes and I said.

"Alright then let me see your hands."

She put her hands out and I put my own onto hers. I close my eyes and there I transferred Isobu into her. She jumped a bit and looked at herself. She couldn't feel the difference but I told her.

"In time he'll first learn to trust you as he did with me. And soon you'll…be able to…use his…power."

I fell to my side and I can hear my children scream out my name. Isamu picked me up and laid me onto his lap. I gave one last look at them and I look over the cliff and I see him.

"Isamu look its Obito. Father has been waiting for me."

"I bet he has. Tell him everything. About me, the Uchiha clan, and Yuriko growing up. And when my time comes I'll tell you about Yuriko's story. I promise."

I smile and gave one last breath. Then my soul finally was at rest. I met up with Obito and Kakashi who were waiting for my arrival.

"Hey Rin. It's been awhile."

"It sure has."

"How about we go and have a chat about what's been going on?"

"That will be nice Kakashi."

We walked off to our new world. I gave one last look behind me and wave off to an old friend. I'm sure he knows I'll miss him. But I know him and Yuriko will do well with each other. I stepped into the shining light before me and I am now with everyone else.

Hey guys, I hope you enjoyed the final chapter for an alternate outcome. This story is something that I always thought of on doing for quite awhile. And so I made it into a reality of my own vision on what could of happen if Rin survived. I had to do a lot of research before getting things ready. I may have miss some informational stuff but I worked it out. And for you guys I hope you really enjoyed it during these times of days.
