PERCY p.o.v

We fell for what felt like a lifetime, with my luck it probably was, I'll be an old man by the time we reach the bottom...

Reyna was wrapped tightly in my arms and I won't ever let her go, never.

"I love you" I whisper in her ear. I'm not sure if she can here me but if we don't make it I want those to be my last words.

A long time past, all I could see was black until suddenly the hole turned into a huge cavern, blood red sky and poisonous looking clouds got smaller and smaller as I looked up at them.

I started to panic and so did Reyna, she was wiggling around trying to get my attention. She kept shouting something but I couldn't hear what until she points down pointing to a river that stretched as far as I could see.

Putting all my strength in lifting the murky river I feel a twisting pain in my gut and the water comes up, grabbing me and Reyna, slowly lowering us to the bank.

Groaning I unsuccessfully try to get up, falling on my butt a few times. I finally manage to stand on my feet and help Reyna up too.

She gives me a grateful smile and I pull her into a hug, the reality of the situation catching up with me:

This is most probably a one way trip, but then again my only real priority was that Reyna gets out alive. If anything happens to her... I don't even want to think about it.

"We should get moving," I say. "Our only chance of getting out is through the doors of death."

She nods, her face determined and we set of on what's going to be the worst excursion of my life.

We walked for what felt like days, only stopping to drink from the fire river.(Reyna had read a book about it)

The monster attacks were getting more frequent and frankly I'm not sure we can go on for much longer.

Just when I was about to break down, a big hut could be seen in the distance, at first I was skeptical but one look at Reyna and I realized we needed to rest.

"Let's move towards the hut," I say. "be prepared for any kind of attack." She nods and we start our trek towards the strange house.

We take a few steps when suddenly a huge drakon bursts out of the trees and starts charging straight at us.

"Jump to the side" Reyna yells. I didn't need to be told twice, jumping with all my strength I manage to get out of the way just in time but apparently it wasn't enough as the beast turns around bashing me into a tree.

I lay there, defenseless. Reyna was nowhere to be seen, I prayed to all the gods she was ok. The drakon, having realized I was easy pray got ready to charge closing on me with incredible speed. Just as I was about to accept my fate I hear a loud battle cry and the beast slowly turns into dust.

I didn't have time to see who my savior was since I blacked out, I just hoped it wasn't another enemy.

I woke up on a confortable surface which was strange since all I've been sleeping on recently is a cold hard floor so I lift my head to get a better look at my surroundings.

All I could see was what seemed to be someone's home, there was a dinning table, a sofa, a kitchen and of course let's not forget the big ass giant in the middle.

Wait... Giant!?

I shot out of bed, which was a terrible idea since I immediately fell down again, I uncap riptide in an attempt to look intimidating. The giant on the other hand looked amused.

"Who are you?" I manage to say though my voice sounded like that of a harpy's.

"You have nothing to fear young half-blood, I am Damasen," The giant says. "born to oppose Ares in the giant war. Mother wasn't very happy that I wouldn't help in her silly little war so as a punishment she sent me here,"

Well... I certainly wasn't expecting that.

"How do I know your not lying?" I say suspiciously.

"You can trust him Percy." Someone says. Wait, I know that voice! I turn my head and I see Reyna. She looked fine, no major injuries so I run up to her and hug her as if she were my lifeline.

"Thank the gods your ok." I whisper.

"Don't thank me, thank him." She points to Damasen. "He's the one that let us stay in his hut and healed you." I look back at the giant and sigh.

"Thank you..." I say.

"Your welcome, I always liked mortals. You can repay me by getting out of this dump and winning the war."
