Pacific Rim: Rise of the Ultra Guardian

Chapter 6: What do you fight for?

"Grr..."

Ultraman Dyna now had a new opponent to deal with:

Horoboros: The Fierce Violence-Beast

"Graurr!" The white-furred monster doesn't waste any time as it heads towards Dyna.

"So fast!" The guardian of Light thinks, barely having any time to dodge the Kaiju's rampaging attack as it ends slashing a building behind the Ultra Hero, easily destroying it into pieces.

Nearby, the local Japanese citizens began to panic once again as they watched another Kaiju wreaking havoc around the district of Shibuya.

"Wrauur!" Horoboros howls to the sky, mirroring a werewolf's characteristics with its feral appearance. Its war cry is so powerful that ends causing a shockwave around the whole district of Shibuya, breaking the windows of several buildings within the area.

"Damm!" Dyna thinks as he braces himself against the shockwave while trying to not lose his balance there.

He then tries to attack the feral beast Kaiju.

"Dyna Slash!" Ultraman Dyna chants, firing one of his energy light ring at the bipedal Kaiju in an attempt to damage it.

However, Horoboros easily destroys the Ultra circular blade, with a wave of its arm, shocking Dyna and everybody else as it next proceeds to tackle down the Ultra Warrior on the ground.

"Wrauur!" The white feral beast growls ferociously as it delivers a series of punch and slashes at the new Hero of Light.

This eventually ends making Ultraman Dyna's Color Timer start beeping its red light.

*Color Timer blinking!*

"Crap! This is bad…!" Dyna thinks, now even struggling to keep his consciousness.

At the PPDC - Command Center

Nobody could watch the events playing before them with ease. It just felt like every time a Jeager would get destroyed by a Kaiju as its Rangers also end getting killed in the process.

"Damm it..." Pentecost curses bitterly, clenching his fists in frustration.

As of lately, whenever it semmed that things were destined to end with humanity's destruction, the giant of light always semmed to appear in time to save the day for them.

But not this time…

Everybody in the room despaired as they witnessed their mysterious savior get attacked by a third Kaiju after he successfully managed to defeat two of these new unknown monsters.

"Is there even anything we can do? The two last monsters from before easily destroyed Cherno Alpha and Crimson Typhoon. And now… That white-furred bastard is easily beating the crap out of the U.H.T." Tendo Choi says, disgruntled.

Is that it? Was humanity really fated to face extinction at this rate!?

'U.H.T...' Both Raleigh and Mako think at the same time, also getting worried with the new Guardian of Light's critical condition.

Back at the fight in Shibuya...

"Urgh..." Ultraman Dyna grunts, struggling as he slowly manages to get up and stand still on his feet.

*Color Timer blinking!*

His Color Timer's red beeps only increased as his energy is gradually diminishing…

Not only he already had to previously deal with Gigan and Megalon as he managed to defeat them. but Horoboros proved itself to be an even greater adversary compared to everything he faced so far…

And yet, despite all the damage and exhaustion taking a toll on the Ultra Hero...

"Huff-huff… But I can't give up… Not yet... If I lose… He is going to destroy Shibuya..." The multi-colored Ultra Hero thinks as he glares towards the white-furred beast Kaiju.

"Graarw!" Horoboros howls once again before concentrating energy on the orange claws attached to its blue arms, the Horoboro Claws.

Once the process is finished, the violent monster uses its special finisher, the Megante Crusher.

Its claws can generate a wide purple energy slash and cause a fatal blow to the opponent after it hits. When used at full power, Horoboros gains an aura.

"Graurr!" Horoboros howls as it unleashes its special attack.

However, the energy slash wasn't aimed at Ultraman Dyna, but actually at the several local Japanese citizens watching the fight between the giants, much to the horror of the new Warrior of Light.

"No!" Dyna exclaims in horror as he sees several terrified humans running away from the area, trying to escape the mortal attack.

But just in time, the Ultra Guardian manages to stand between the Megante Crusher and the

panicking people, conjuring an energy barrier to stop Horoboros' finisher.

*Crack!* *Crack!*

However, it wasn't enough...

Dyna's barrier began to show some cracks as the purple energy slash nade the Ultraman slowly retreat until it came to the point he could no longer hold it back, causing the barrier to be shattered.

"Argh!" The Silver Giant grunts in pain as he ends taking the full hit of the Megante Crusher, deciding to use his own body in the end to shield the nearby people.

And Horboros would not let this opportunity pass either...

Approaching the injured Ultraman Dyna and quickly grabbing him by the throat with one of its arms, the feral beast Kaiju generates an energy impulse to empower its Horoboro Claw and pierce through the new Guadian of Light's Ultra Armor.

"Argh!" The Hero of Light cries in pain as the Horoboro Claw passes through his body.

At Yuta and Mayu's house…

"No!" Mayu cried in horror as she has been watching her surrogate brother fight the Kaijus through their TV.

Tears began to fall from her eyes as she remembered how her own parents were killed by a Kaiju as they sacrificed themselves in order to protect her.

Would she also lose Yuta next?

"No… Please, no! Don't lose, Ultraman Dyna! Onii-chan!" Mayu prayed as she kept crying as well.

All around the world, people helplessly watched in grief and horror as they witnessed Ultraman Dyna being on the receiving end of Horoboros' hateful rampage.

And finally…

He couldn't take any more of it…

The Color Timer in the Ultra Hero's chest finally stopped blinking, And with that, came the announcement of his defeat…

Dyna's body began to glow blue before it turned into multiple particles of light energy that scattered trough the air…

And just at the same spot the giant of light has been standing at, a certain familiar young man's body takes his place, being very small in comparison to Horoboros' enormous size.

The boy could be seen by the whole world as he falls towards the large audience of people that have been watching his fight(As Ultraman Dyna) against the Kaijus until now…

*Crash!*

Yuta's body ends crashing against the hard ground of the city, leaving a huge crater at where he landed. The local Japanese citizens gasp once they get a full look at the young man's appearance.

"Graurr!" Horoboros howls one last time as his body gets enveloped in green light and finally disappears from the scene.

Back at the top of the Shibuya 109 Department Store building...

The mysterious dark figure chuckles with great delight as the Horoboros R/B Crystal returned to their hands.

'Good… So easy to crush that Ultraman once he barely has any energy left to fight back." The Malevolent Entity says as it disappears as well from Shibuya, not leaving a single trace of themselves ever being there behind…

Soon, Earth and humanity would learn what true calamity meant…

Back with Yuta…

Everybody kept their distance from the large crater as Yuta's injured body still laid in the center of it. Nobody seemed to know if it was a good idea to approach the young Ultra's unconscious form.

Once Horoboros' form somehow vanished from Shibuya, a momentary sense of relief took over the local people.

But with that said, the only thing left for them to decide now was about what exactly do with their mysterious Cosmic Protector.

"There he is!" Sasha Kaidonovsky exclaims as she, followed by her husband Aleksis and the Wei Tang triplets made their way through the crowd, finally finding the badly battered Ultra Hero's form.

Wasting no time, the five Rangers get closer to the center of the crater and the young man's body, shocked to find out that he was still alive after somehow taking a fall that would have killed any other human being. Who is this boy!?

Aleksis and the Chinese brothers gently grab Yuta's body and lift while Sasha checks upon him.

"Is he alive?" One of the triplets asked the otherts.

"He… He's just a kid." A baffled Aleksis spoke, still trying to get used to the fact that a teenager was the one apparently fighting to save everyone's lives so far.

What would they do now?

Sometime later…

Hong Kong Bay - PPDC's Shatterdome

"Urgh..." Yuta groans as he finally wakes up, finding himself inside of what appears to be some sort of hospital room.

"Where… Where am I?" He wonders, rubbing his head in slight pain as he still feels a bit dizzy.

Straightening himself up on the bed, the new Ultraman tries to recollect the latest events of his life, eventually remembering about everything until his defeat at Horoboros' hands.

'*Gasp!* That's right! I remember everything now!' The young Guardian of Light thinks, gasping in realization.

Suddenly, the door to his room opens and a nurse enters, now looking just as surprised at probably seeing him awake before quickly recomposing herself.

"Good morning, Or should I say afternoon." She replies to him with a smile.

"Where am I?" Now fully awake, that's the first thing Yuta decides to the woman as he sits on the bed he was resting just a few moments ago.

The young man was only wearing a white T-shirt and a pair of blue shorts.

"You're at the PPDC's Hong Kong Shatterdome's medical wing, young man. I need you to calmly listen to what I'm about to say: The Marshall wishes to speak with you." The nurse tries to calmly explain to the Japanese boy from another dimension.

On the other hand, Yuta's processing time is incredibly short.

Hong Kong.

PPDC.

Shatterdome.

Marshall.

So he was no longer in Japan!? So that also means the government finally got their hands on him!?

"How do I get out of here?" Yuta decides to ask the nurse, grabbing her by the shoulders and making the woman flinch.

"Oki-san, you can't leave this place yet. The Marshall needs to talk with you." The nurse repeats as she activates a hidden switch in her left hand while the Ultra Guardian is distracted with her. She was now feeling nervous under the serious gaze he was looking at her with.

"I asked you how I can leave this place?" The Ultra Warrior demands again, more firmly, not leaving room for any negotiation.

The first thing that now came to his mind was Mayu. How long has he been out here!? He needs to go back to their apartment! No! No!

Suddenly, two men fully armed in combat gear enter the room, as if ready to try restraining the young Ultraman.

Just outside of the room medical room...

Several officers were only taking care of their own business until a loud crash could be heard and a hole was suddenly made in the corridor's wall.

*Crash!*

The two security agents from before came from out of it before a frantic-looking Yuta appeared next from the hole, startling everybody nearby as the young man made a run for it, not having any idea of where exactly he should go to escape from the Shatterdome.

"Oki-san! Wait!" The nurse tries to call in vain as she watched him flee from the scene. She then pulls out a walkie-talkie to relay orders through it.

"All agents, code red! I repeat, code red!"

As Yuta kept running aimlessly around the PPDC's headquarters, he now heard the nurse's voice from before coming from some speakers as alarms next began to sound in his surroundings as well.

At this, everybody nearby suddenly tried to catch and capture him.

However, since his new body was several times stronger and faster in comparison to that of an average human, Yuta easily manages to outrun and avoid anybody from restraining him. Along the way, he ended knocking out some people.

Some minutes later…

The Ultraman eventually reaches what appears to be some sort of secret base's hangar, one he would have probably seen in movies back in his homeworld.

And in the center of the location was a Jaeger, one he hadn't seen yet in action:

Gypsy Danger

Gipsy Danger is a Mark-3 American Jaeger and was one of the oldest Jaegers still in active combat after Cherno Alpha.

The Jaeger's appearance, a faded blue paint job and its romanticized decal, invokes the visual design of fighter aircraft like Vought F4U Corsair from the World War II era. Its body language "echos Raleigh, but is largely its own". Because Gipsy Danger's head is detachable from its body, large flaps stemming from its shoulders to protect the back of its head and the base of the neck where the body connects with the Conn-Pod.

Gipsy's 08FS/Oceanic Cooling vents maintain temperature and channel seawater through the circulatory coolant system; 98BD/Hyper-Torque Drives allow Gipsy Danger's muscle strands increased locomotion. Gipsy's Nuclear Vortex Turbine maintains health checks and returned radiochemical readings in excess of safety parameters. The turbine can also be utilized to fire a directed heat weapon powerful enough to puncture completely through a grappling Kaiju when fired at point-blank range.

Equalizing the Jaeger's movement are the 10KT/Gyro-Stabilizers, which allow for smooth bipedal motion and stabilize aggressor feud. Gipsy Danger also features two rear jets which allow for an increase in forwarding movement for a limited amount of time. They can be used to aid in the Jaeger's ability to leap into the air, quickly decreasing the distance between it and a kaiju to land a melee attack.

For each hand, the Jaeger possesses an I-19 Plasmacaster, a particle dispersal cannon that fires plasma via a charged carrier rail, which wound and cauterize Kaiju anatomy, preventing the spread of Kaiju Blue. It also has two retractable GD6 Chain Swords which is created from steel-obsidian alloy, personally outfitted by Mako Mori. The Chain Swords can be used as solid blades or whips. In addition to those features, the Gipsy Danger is able to dump much of its coolant as an improvised weapon and possesses a rocket for increased punching power in its right elbow (possibly in its left one as well).

As a result of its age, its suspension is looser, its parts move more than the latest Jaeger models, making it more vulnerable to melee attacks. Like all Mark-1, Mark-2 and Mark-3 Jaegers, Gipsy Danger is powered by a nuclear reactor located in the center of its chest. Its status as an "analog" Jaeger makes it resilient to EMP-based attacks.

It semmed to currently be on stand by, just waiting to be deployed.

"Whoa..." Yuta couldn't help but become a bit marveled at the technological weapon as he stared at the metal behemoth in front of him. It was really impressive how the humanity of this universe semmed to be more advanced than the people of this homeworld.

"..." Still amazed, the young man tried to extend his hand towards the giant mecha. As if trying to reach it.

And suddenly…

"There he is!" A rough voice barked, snapping the Cosmic Warrior back into reality.

Immediately afterward, the Ultra Hero finds himself completly surrounded by soldiers fully equipped with combat gear, now all sporting guns and taking their aim at the human boy from another dimension.

"Crap." Now sweating nervously, Yuta gets into a fighting stance since he doesn't plan to let these people do as they please with him.

However…

"Stand down! I said stand down!" An authoritative command as Stacker walks into the scene, followed by Mako and Tendo.

The security personnel all obey the Marshall's commands as they lower their weapons.

Yuta relaxes his stance as well but doesn't let his guard down. At least not yet.

"I guess you must be the boss around here, huh?" The Ultra Hero asks Pentecost, narrowing carefully his eyes at the dark-skinned man.

"Look, I'm sorry about that little show back there, but we thought it best to break it slowly to you." Stacker tries to explain to the young man before him.

"And what do you want?" The Ultraman asks back in a serious tone.

"I just wish to speak with you, U.H.T... Mr. Oki." The Marshall calmly replies back to Yuta, making him flinch at the title the people of this world gave him.

"So you already know, huh?" Yuta wonders grimly.

"Several videos have been broadcasting your face to the whole world, Mr. Oki. And there's a lot of evidence: there's mobile footage taken from bystanders with their phones, to footage taken from the news choppers that have been circling around like goddamned vultures, ever since this whole mess began." The dark-skinned man continues.

Great, so there's no way for the young Ultra to either trick or bluff his way out from these guys. What should he do now?

"Are you gonna be okay?" Stacker asks next, studying carefully the boy who was secretly fighting until now as the giant of light.

"Alright. Just give me a damn reason why I should trust you… You're a dog of the government, aren't you?" Yuta asks as he tries to think of how to lose these people off from his back.

While his subordinates frowned at the way the young man addressed him, Pentecost only looked intrigued at the way the boy spoke before him.

He clearly didn't seem to be fond of the government. But why? Was the Striker Eureka Jeager enough to make him hostile towards the rest of the PPDC and the people of Earth?

Well, the Marshall perhaps indeed needs to prove first that nobody in the PPDC was an enemy to the U.H.T.

"Mr. Oki, nobody here at the PPDC has any ill intention towards you. And as proof of that… I brought a certain someone that dearly missed you." Stacker says.

As if on cue, a certain familiar black-haired 10 Years old Japanese girl appears from behind of Mako's figure, earning a look of surprise from the young Ultra Warrior.

"Mayu!" He cried his adopted sister's name as she rushed towards him in joy.

"Onii-chan!" She exclaims in return as both hug each other in a warm embrace, happy for being reunited once again.

Some of the personnel there actually felt touched upon these two surrogate siblings' reunion.

As she stared at the little girl hugging the Ultraman, Mako felt a sense of familiarity with the scene before her. She investigated the younger sibling and felt bad upon learning that Mayu became an orphan like her after losing her parents to a Kaiju attack.

And as for humanity's mysterious savior…

"*Sniff!* I… I thought you have died, Onii-chan! I thought the Kaiju killed you!" Mayu cried, tears falling from her eyes.

Yuta only adopted a reassured expression at this, smiling brightly to the little girl.

"Hey, come now. Don't cry like that, Mayu. I told you before, didn't I? No matter how many times I fall, I won't give up. That's what being an Ultraman means." He told his surrogate sister, earning everybody else's attention at the use of the unknown term for them.

'Ultraman? Is that what he calls himself?' Stacker wondered, now intrigued.

Once Yuta and Mayu separate, the young Ultra Warrior turns to the PPDC's Marshall.

Inside of an Interrogation Room

Yuta and Stacker glared at each other, finally ready for their 'talk'.

"And what can I do for you? As you can see, I would rather not be here at all." Came the rumbling bass of the Ultraman as he spoke.

Pressing his lips together in a frim line, Stacker Pentecost clasped his hands behind his back as he stared at Yuta straight in his eyes with his own, interest rising within him when he noticed that while the man clearly became a bit uncomfortable, he didn't look away from the Marshall's piercing gaze.

There weren't very many people in the world capable of that.

"Unfortunately, I think you'll have to make some time for me, Mr. Oki. This conversation has been coming for a long time now, but you've turned out to be a very difficult person to get a hold of." Stacker retorts.

"And?" The young man defies, crossing his arms and raising an eyebrow at the dark-skinned man.

"Yeah, see the thing about that is: What are you?"

"Look, not to be rude, but at the moment I don't give a fuck as to what you're interested in-"

"-What I am interested in, is how a young man from Tokyo goes from being a regular, unassuming baseline human, to the most dangerous being on the planet in the span of a few months. I am especially interested in how said human, runs off to hunt Kaijus with his mysterious powers. And then, how that young man apparently doesn't even seem to be registered in any of the records of Japan's citizens. We're not playing any games here, Mr. Oki. I know you're not from this world." The Marshall speaks firmly.

Seeing the young man stiffen in response to his little monologue made the Marshall want to smile in grim amusement, though his expression remained fixed in a practiced mask of determined neutrality. He made sure to not put too much pressure on the man, the destruction he had to wade through in order to speak to this young man was still fresh in his mind.

Stacker had decided to confront the Ultra at this moment precisely because the boy was probably at his most vulnerable right now, and as such was (hopefully) easier to lean on than would have otherwise been the case. The flipside of that, however, was that due to that vulnerability (metaphorically speaking: Stacker had seen the footage and how he easily knocked out several people with his bare hands and a supernatural strength no human should possess) he was also more likely to instinctively lash out.

Tendo had argued vehemently against Pentecost confronting Yuta personally because of this, but the head of the PPDC had shut that down hard.

Arriving in force had spooked the Ultraman last time, and the young man had been able to slip from their radar until the moment they picked him up suddenly fighting against three Kajus in Shibuya, Japan.

If they were to approach now in full force, then he might not only decide to bolt again, but there was also every chance of the man choosing to fight instead.

They had to send someone else in to talk with the enigma that was Oki Yuta face to face.

It had to be him. Someone else might get it wrong.

Continuing where he left off, Stacker pinned Yuta with a heavy glare.

"Now, I can ignore crazy rumors of a superhuman fighting Kaijus. I can even ignore a man who runs away from my people, crashing through a wall in the process: we'll just track him down again after all. What I can not ignore, however, is when that someone sets part of New York, Sydney and Tokyo on fire, as he beats the shit out of monsters on international television!"

A growl leaped from Yuta's throat as he uncrossed his arms, walking up to Pentecost in a few great strides, staring defiantly at the Marshall as he glared down at him, and it took quite a bit of Stacker's not inconsiderate amount of willpower not to flinch from the pressure coming off the boy, absentmindedly noting that some sort of energy began to envelop the young man's body.

Honestly, there was far more evidence than Pentecost was pleased with, meaning that there was just no way this could be swept under the rug, unfortunately.

All that was left after the fight was the clean-up, making sure they caught whatever little footage there had been made, and to strongly impress upon the locals that what they had seen was a matter of international security and as such, they were never to speak of it again if they didn't want to end up locked away in a government facility in the middle of nowhere for the remainder of their lives.

A lie, of course, considering that while PPDC did have a lot of power, even they couldn't just cart an entire population off to prison.

Not that the rest of the world was aware of that fact, of course.

But this young man appeared several times around the world, especially in big cities such as New York and Tokyo: News choppers rivaled pigeons for the top spot of most annoying pests in the air, and the people were more likely to run towards danger than away from it, just in the hope of getting a glimpse of the action.

And judging by the multitude of videos, pictures and gif's that were popping up all around the web, there had been a lot of action to be had (the one where Ultraman Dyna - Miracle Type made a black hole in his hand was currently trending on just about every media platform there was, though because he was actively brutally killing Kaiju in that shot, it kept being taken down, only to pop up again moments later on another site).

This all meant that Stacker had to switch tactics, much like he had been forced to do when the United Nations tried to stop supporting the Jeager Program as if the Marshall didn't already have enough headaches as it is.

Just barging into private property and taking whatever they deemed necessary wouldn't work here, since that would definitely lead to a fight with an angered overpowered alien(?) boy.

No, patience was key here.

Of course, being a formerly trained military man, it took only a few seconds for these thoughts to pass through Pentecost's mind (the fact that he had been thinking them from the moment he left his office in order to come down here certainly helped), so when Yuta started talking again barely any time had passed.

"You say the footage doesn't lie. I agree. It will clearly show that what I did was to protect the people from the Kaijus while I simply retaliated." Yuta growled angrily, the temperature around them skyrocketing when he mentioned the attackers, his tone suddenly becoming much more serious, but Stacker stood his ground.

Granted, he couldn't currently think of any, but he was sure that he had.

"You think that is going to matter in court? Hell, do you believe that you're going to end up in court at all? I currently have three different agencies out there, screaming their heads off that, not only should they have you, but the remains of the new Kaijus you killed as well. I have at least three more, that believe that you are a danger to world security, and guess what?! They don't just want your custody, they want to cut you open too and take a look inside to see what makes you tick! I had to call the goddamned United Nations in order to make them reconsider calling in everything they had in store for fuck's sake!"

Growling at the threat to both his person and his powers, Yuta balled his fist while the temperature surrounding the Ultra just kept on climbing in response to the man's emotions.

The dark-skinned man frowned at Oki's anger, and decided to dial it back a bit. Pushing the young man's buttons was fine if it took him off guard, leaving Stacker at least with something to work with, but if he pushed too hard then he would be back at square one, on top of the Ultra actively hating the entire PDDC as well.

No, he had used the stick, riling the Ultraman up, making him angry at the world. Now it was time to extend the carrot, to impress upon the man just how much he needed the PPDC, to make him see just how useful an alliance could be.

Or at the very least, co-existence.

"They can try if they wish to do so, but they will find out through the hard way that this isn't a good idea," Yuta speaks calmly, but the Marshall could see the fire burning in this young man's eyes.

"They aren't going to try, because I'm not going to let them. The secrets you used have already been impounded by the PPDC before they could get their hands on it since it is literally our job to deal with these types of situations. And as for you and your adopted sister? Well, I'm sure something can be arranged…"

Yuta scoffed as Pentecost trailed off, but the Marshall noticed that the temperature finally started to cool down again, while the boy took a step back as he began to pace back and forth, heedless of the floor that he accidentally crushed underneath his feet.

"Don't you dare bring her into this... She is innocent. An orphan from a Kaiju attack that I decided to take care of. Leave her out of this… If you government bastards try to even lay a single finger on Mayu..." The Ultra trailed off dangerously, sending a very serious warning that the Marshall would take to his heart as he kept receiving glares from the Japanese boy.

The two exchanged glares again neither refusing to back off...

"So, that's how you're going to play it? The PPDC swoops in to save the day, taking the monster remains off the street, which just so happens to result in it all ending up in your clutches, while all I need to do is bow my head to your demands if I want to avoid conflict with just about every agency out there?" The Ultra said bitterly, and Pentecost realized that he needed to calm the man down before he started shutting him out.

"More or less, though I think you're being a bit unfair towards me and my people here, Oki. We're not tyrants. We don't want to blackmail you into submission, 'till you're working for us, we want to protect you, so you're free to work with us. We can help you, Oki. You just need to let us."

For a few moments, Yuta just kept on pacing, shooting Pentecost suspicious glances every once in a while. The Marshall remained stoic as he stood in the sweltering pressure, his eyes unerringly following the young man in front of him, even as it seemed that Yuta might end up dismissing his offer after all.

Finally, it seemed as if the Ultra Hero had come to a decision, letting out a deep sigh as a hand came up to pinch his nose, eyes closed in a deep frown.

"Alright. This is a quid pro quo thing then? 'I scratch your back, you scratch mine' sorta thing, huh? Fine. Say I accept: what's your price gonna be? What the hell do you want in return for making all this go away and for keeping any suits off my back? And don't try to pull any bullshit on me, like doing this from the good of your heart, or some shit like that."

Easily keeping his grin from showing, Stacker allowed a casual expression to show on his face.

"Just a couple of things, along with some information and the truth. Nothing you aren't already 'marketing', really. I just want to hear your story. And about your powers. I'm sure we can work something out, Oki."

"We'll see. Don't bother getting your hopes up." The Ultra Hero said, clearly still wary of any hidden traps, but unable to come up with a better alternative on the spot, not when they could both imagine the small army of government spooks standing in front of them, staring at the Ultraman with barely concealed greed.

"Fair enough. As you said, we'll see." Stacker replied easily.

"You mentioned information. What did you have in mind?"

"Like I said, nothing much. I can tell you're not exactly, chomping at the bit, to break open that treasure hoard of yours. So, we'll keep things nice and slow at first."

"By the way, where's my Reflasher? It's a special brown amulet that I carry around with myself. I want it back. Now."

Stacker thought about it for a brief moment as he remembers about the reports he received earlier also said that Yuta has been carrying some brown piece of stone with U.H.T.'s face carved on it. Further analysis also suggested that the item was definitely not from Earth.

"My team of scientists is currently analyzing that piece of rock. Judging by your reaction, I must guess that it's more than some luck charm for you. That thing is what you need to transform into your giant form. Am I wrong?" Stacker inquiries.

"..." The leader of the PPDC is only met with silence as Yuta refuses to answer the question, closing his eyes.

"I will take that as a yes. I will see what I can do to return it later to you, Mr. Oki. However, that will end depending on how cooperative you're with us." The dark-skinned man says, folding his arms.

"I'm not asking, Stacker Pentecost. I will take the Reflasher back." Was Yuta's only reply at this as he raised his right hand, with his eyes still closed.

What is he planning to do now?

PPDC - Science Team's laboratory

Meanwhile with Hermann and Newton...

"Incredible… Whatever this is, it seems to possess a lot of energy inside of it." Hermann comments as he and Newton were currently using some sort of scanner to analyze Ultraman Dyna's Reflasher.

"I would definitely bet that this is what the U.H.T. must be used to transform into his giant form. I wonder what sorts of secrets lie inside of this thing." An amused Newton ponders as he keeps working in some nearby consoles.

For the past hours, the duo of scientists has been trying to break or open the Reflasher in an attempt to try seeing its inside.

But nothing they did worked. The Ultra Device was extremely resistant to acid, explosives or whatever else they came up with next to use.

And suddenly…

"What the?" Hermann looks in surprise alongside Newton as a blue glow suddenly envelops the Ultra Device.

And before the scientists could even try to do anything else, the Reflasher floats and leaves the room, making a large hole in one of the laboratory's walls. It almost semmed as if the object was alive, heading towards somewhere else.

"..." Hermann was gobsmacked, unable to say anything while Newton only has an even larger excited smile on his face.

"Holy shit, that rock can do that as well!?" The bespectacled German muses.

Back at the interrogation room…

Stacker looked confused at the young man before him when something suddenly crashes into the room, leaving a hole in one of the walls during the process.

To his shock, the Marshall soon finds out that it was none other than Ultraman Dyna's Reflasher, enveloped in a bright blue aura, as it calmly floats back into its owner's right hand.

"Much better." The young man smiles triumphantly at the dark-skinned gentleman before him.

"What the!? Mr. Oki, you can't just-!" But before Pentecost could finish berating the new Ultra Hero…

*Strong Tremor!*

A powerful earthquake happens around the entire Shatterdome as loud alarms suddenly start to sound trough the entire base.

A Kaiju was nearby…

Outside, close to the entrance of Hong Kong Bay's Shatterdome...

An already summoned Horoboros was attacking Hong Kong's Bay as it slowly got closer to the headquarters of the PPDC's last Shatterdome, easily destroying everything that stood in its way.

The bestial Kaiju's master merely observed things from afar, pleased.

It wouldn't be long before humanity was completly destroyed...

In a corridor around the base...

"This way!" Pentecost says as Yuta and Mayu follow after him. Mako and Tendo also having joined them along the way.

Another strong earthquake suddenly happens, making everybody lose their balance.

"Dammit…! How could a Kaiju get so close to the Shatterdome!?" Stacker cursed as Mako and Tendo helped the Marshall stand up.

But if that wasn't enough…

"*Cough!* *Cough!*" Pentecost suddenly coughs blood as his terminal cancer decides to catch up at the worst moment possible.

"Sir!/Marshall!" Tendo and Mako cried simultaneously as his medicine box ends landing next to Yuta.

Curious, the young Ultra Hero inspects the medicine box before looking back at Stacker in genuine surprise.

"Those pills… You have terminal cancer!?" The Ultra asks the older man with a baffled expression before handing the medicine back to Stacker.

"I'm no longer allowed to pilot a Jaeger under normal circumstances due to my illness… But that doesn't mean I will stop fighting… The world is ending… And only the PPDC can save us!" Stacker declares firmly.

At this, something inside of Yuta and Mayu changed as they now looked at the head of the PPDC in a new light. The man before them wasn't just another government dog, but apparently, another person that was actually fighting hard to save this world as well.

Smiling slightly, Yuta merely nods in acknowledgment at Pentecost before turning away, heading towards the opposite direction from the path they are supposed to follow.

"Wait, where are you going? The exit is not that way!" Tendo tries to warn him.

Yuta stops and turns his head to face the others, mainly Stacker.

"Marshall Stacker Pentecost, I guess I got the wrong impression about you earlier. I'm sorry about that." This earns wide eyes from the dark-skinned man as he also started to feel that he could understand the Ultra Hero better.

"Oki… You..." The Marshall trailed off.

Yuta then turns to his surrogate sister.

"Mayu, go with these guys to the shelter. I can tell now that they're good people. You will be okay with them," The Ultra tells her.

The young girl immediately gets the gist of what he plans to do next…

"Wait, no! You can't face that Kaiju again, Onii-chan! What if you die for sure this time!?" The young girl pleads, but she is only met with the Ultra shooking his head.

"I'm the only one that can stop Horoboros now. The PPDC is currently not in the condition of using any of their Jeagers, am I right?" He asks Stacker, Mako and Tendo.

He could notice the frustration present in these three.

'With that monsters attacking our base, we can't even deploy a single Jeager...' Mako cursed.

The Ultra Warrior next tells to Stacker:

"You once asked me about my story, right? Well… I just don't want to see anybody else dying! These monsters will continue to take away the smiles of the people if I leave them alone! I know it sounds cliché, but it's why I'm fighting! As it is now, only I have the power to take these guys down so I will fight!"

The Ultra then grins as he starts to run towards the battle. Mayu yells at him, trying to go after him, but Mako stops her.

"Ah!" Once he is close enough to Horoboros' position, Yuta makes a warcry as he raises the Reflasher in his hand, activating the Ultra Device.

At the entrance of Hong Kong Bay's Shatterdome

Just as it was ready to unleash its fury upon humanity's last line of defense, a giant pillar of light suddenly gets in Horoboros' way, blasting the monster away from the PPDC's headquarters.

"Grrr..." Quickly recovering itself, Horoboros glares as the pillar of light disappears and Ultraman Dyna - Flash Type next appears in front of the Violence-Beast Kaiju.

LOCCENT - Mission Control Room

"Why… How does he even plan to face that Kaiju? The U.H.T. didn't stand a single chance against it last time." Mako wonders as she, Pentecost, Tendo and a few others watched Yuta transform into Ultraman Dyna trough a few monitors as they regrouped in the command center.

"It doesn't matter..."

All heads turn towards Mayu, who was also present with them.

"That sort of thing doesn't matter for my brother… He won't give up until the end… That's who Ultraman Dyna is." She speaks wholeheartedly, silently praying for the safety and victory of the giant of light.

'Ultraman Dyna… So that's what he calls himself?' Stacker ponders, paying close attention to the new Ultra Hero facing Horoboros.

Back at the battle of giants…

"Ha!" Crossing his arms into an X-pose, the giant of light decides to take another approach this time to deal with his enemy.

*Blink!*

Now in his crimson Strong Type, Dyna challenges the white-furred monster to come at him.

"Grauur!" Horoboros accepts the challenge as it charges towards Dyna.

"Dy-Knuckle!" In response, the red Ultraman chants before coating his right fist on fire as he punches the monster hard on the face.

The blow leaves a charred mark on the Kaiju's face as a result.

Ultraman Dyna - Strong Type then performs a series of Swallow Kicks, executing several flying kick attacks performed after several mid-air somersaults, based on Ultraman Taro's signature kick attack.

The two combatants then get into a contest of pure brute strenght as they clash their respective fists against each other while trying to overpower one another.

With the PPDC...

Nobody could believe in what they were witnessing so far.

The Ultra Warrior that previously lost was actually managing to fight better this time against Horoboros. But why!? And how!?

"It's because Ultraman Dyna grows stronger the more he fights. But that's not the entire source behind his power. He also has things he wishes to protect. As long as he has a reason to fight, he won't run away or turn back to those in need. Isn't that what the PPDC is also supposed to represent?" Mayu asks aloud as the adults contemplate her words.

'Strong feelings... He has a hope for a better future… Is that what keeps making him stronger?' Stacker thought in realization.

*Blink!*

Ultraman Dyna now changes into his Miracle Type form. After passing through rigorous mental and physical self-taught training, the Ultra Hero manages to overcome the disadvantage that he previously possessed, being unable to freely change between his Strong and Miracle Types.

Dyna could now freely change between his three forms just like how most Ultra Warriors after him were capable of doing.

Horoboros tries to hurt Dyna once again with its Megante Crusher. However, the Ultra was already prepared for that.

Dyna prepares to perform the Revolium Wave as he compresses the space into the right hand, creating a super shock wave. However, unlike the last time he used this ability, the Revolium Wave could also be used to absorb attacks in an energy shield and then fire it back to his opponents.

"Revolium Wave(Reverse Type)!" The Ultra manages to send the powerful attack back to Horobors.

From the top of a nearby building…

The Unknown Figure has been watching the fight betwen Horoboros and Ultraman Dyna since the start, unable to comprehend what was happening before them. How could their Horoboros not stand a chance against the giant of light now!?

It was simply inconceivable!

Was Horobors previous victory only due to the fact that Ultraman Dyna was perhaps already slightly exhausted after facing Gigan and Megalon?

"No… That can't be… That Ultraman… The more he fights… The stronger he gets… How is this possible!? Is this the so-called power of light!?" The Malevolent Entity thinks, looking at the Battle Nizer in their hands.

"Ha!" Ultraman Dyna tuns back into his default Flash Type as he can feel that his duel with against Horoboros will be coming to an end very soon.

"(Flash) Crescent Slash!" Dyna's body glows as he performs a slicing energy attack, based on Ultraman Ace's Vertical Guillotine.

"Grauur!" Horoboros cries in pain at the powerful blow he ends receiving as blood comes from his injuries.

Dyna then flies high into the sky while the Violence-Beast Kaiju keeps attempting to bring him down back to the surface of Honk Kong Bay by firing several energy slashes at the Hero of Light.

"Ha!" The new giant of light spins in the sky as he avoids all of Horoboros attacks, successfully evading all of them before turning back at the white-furred monster.

"Flash Cycler!" The multi-colored Ultra chants as he fires blue cutter beams from his arms back to the Kaiju.

Horobors falls on the ground, now badly injured. Thankfully, no buildings nearby have been destroyed so far since these two giants started their fight around honk Kong.

"Time to end this!" Ultraman Dyna declares as he tries to use a new Ultra Beam technique, something different from his signature Solgent Beam. Am original move he has been training in secret.

Horoboros tries to use Megante Crusher one last time, using all of its remaining energy. When used at full power, the Ebastial Kaiju gains a dark aura around its body.

The new Ultraman spread his arms, making a circle with them as blue cosmic energy starts to be gathered around his arms and towards his Color Timer while the Dyna Tector starts to glow blue instead of its usual gold.

Once he is ready, Ultraman Dyna makes an L-gesture with his arms before chanting:

"Solgent Blaster!" An even more powerful dark-blue Ultra Beam is fired by Dyna, also giving the guardian of light a slight recoil, as it manages to break the Megante Crusher technique and hit Horoboros, piercing its chest.

"Grauur!" Horoboros cries one last time before he explodes into pieces.

*Boom!*

As Ultraman Dyna lands on Hong Kong's surface, a small green orb comes from the explosion and is absorbed into the Ultraman's Color Timer.

Inside of Ultraman Dyna's soul…

The inside of Ultraman Dyna's soul was a blue void, filled with several white lights flowing through the endless space as Yuta stood in its center.

The young man ends receiving the small green orb from before as it lands into his right hand, quickly revealing itself to be none other than Horoboros' R/B Crystal.

"*Gasp!* This is… Horoboros' R/B Crystal!" The young Ultra Hero comments, surprised at obtaining such a dangerous power into his hands after defeating a powerful opponent.

Back with the Mysterious Figure…

"Ultraman Dyna… Tsk! If only he didn't come to this putrid world! As long as even a single Ultraman is around... Nothing will ever be easy, huh?" The Unknown Entity speaks before disappearing from Hong Kong.

His summoned Kaiju may have lost, but that was from being the end of it…

In front of Hong Kong Bay's Shatterdome's entrance...

Once the crisis was finally over, most of the PPDC's personnel gathered at the entrance of their headquarters…

And standing now before them was Ultraman Dyna - Flash Type, whose gigantic form loomed over them as he looked down upon the humans.

While many of them were now admiring the giant of light, some others were still wary of Dyna, fearing that the Cosmic Guardian would want retribution for attacking him with a Jeager right now.

However…

*Blink!*

Light envelops the Ultraman's body as his massive figure disappears trough the dispersal of light energy particles scattering trough the air.

They then reassemble once again in the size of a human figure, eventually forming and revealing Yuta's figure to everyone else.

Everybody blinked in surprise at this. Not expecting the boy to come forwards so soon like that.

In return, the Ultra Hero only made a thumbs up to the PPDC's agents with a triumphant smile as they looked dumbstruck at him.

"You did it, Onii-chan!" Mayu cries as she appears from the crowd of people, followed by Stacker and Mako. The young girl approaches and embraces Yuta into a hug, earning a few chuckles and head pats from the young man.

"But of course! I told you that I would be back, didn't I? I-" The new Ultraman tries to say as he suddenly starts to feel dizzy, losing his balance.

'Crap! I guess the Solgent Blaster required much more energy than I thought...' Yuta thinks as his eyes were on the verge of closing from exhaustion.

But before his body dropped on the floor, a certain someone catches him in time.

"Pentecost..." The young man manages to say in surprise as he looks at the Marshall before finally passing out.

'You have done more than enough, Oki. Just rest for now.' The Marshall thinks as he looks towards the medical team, signaling them to helpt the unconscious Ultraman.

Chapter 6: What do you fight for? - End

This was chapter 6 of the story!

So the whole world now knows that Yuta is Ultraman Dyna.

As for him and Pentecost's interaction, that is what I imagined how they would talk with each other since Yuta wasn't exactly sure yet if the PPDC was reliable since they report to the United Nations.

And having a Jager previously attack the Ultraman would make him warier of them in the end, putting the group in a bad light.

I have no idea if I should make any use of the Horoboros R/B Crystal that is now in Yuta's possession. Maybe I will just make him keep it in order to prevent the Kaiju's powers from falling into the wrong hands.

The reason I did not decide to make use of either the Gypsy Danger or the Striker Eureka Jeagers to fight alongside Ultraman Dyna was because Horoboros was literally attacking the PPDC's headquarters surroundings, making it impossible for the giant mechas to be deployed into action.

As for the next chapter, I will try to make Yuta and Stacker come to an agreement of sorts with the Ultraman deciding to eventually join as a Ranger for the PPDC after the two of them have an honest talk with each other.

Now onto the Reviews:

Ryuga ken: Thanks!

Guest DCDGojira: Thanks! Yes. I already have one idea of what the final antagonist could be like, but I would like to hear your suggestion. No, I have never heard of Demonabane.

Yeah, I also like to read and review Star Wars fanfics.

Austin: Thanks!

Yeah, the new villain will certainly prove to be more troublesome later than the Precursors.

Sure, maybe I could use some of the Kaijus from these sources you mentioned.

Just like you suggested, I think I will certainly make the villains fight amongst each other, with the new enemy being stronger than the Precursors' monsters.

I'm later planning to make some battles take place in the Precursors' world, with the PPDC and Ultraman Dyna taking the fight to their home.

For now, I don't plan to make any new stories. I will try to focus only on the ones that I have made so far.

And again, you do indeed raise interesting points about the villains not being at each other's throats. But maybe it's just because of the obligatory cliche of heroes' alliance vs the bad guys' alliance.

Dasosiglord69: Yeah! Are you talking about Ultraman Belial or Reimon? I think either of them would be cool to see Tsuburaya bring back. Although they have still been using Belial even though he's officially dead for some time.

Agent N: Thanks! Yeah, not only the PPDC but the entire world is going to have a big surprise once they learn everything about Yuta/Ultraman Dyna. You know, that Spider-Man scene could be a nice idea, but not sure yet of using that. I think maybe I will take the approach of Stacker sort of acting like Nick Fury with Yuta and try to recruit him into the PPDC as a Ranger.

kamenriderzio218: Well, here's the next chapter!

Guest(1): Thanks! I will think about bringing other Ultras to this story eventually. But not Ultraman Geed. Maybe Ultraman Tiga.

Guest(2): That sounds like an interesting plot, but I will have to think about that before I decide to use such an idea.

Guest(3): Ok, sure. But the people of the Pacific Rim world will eventually have to learn everything about the main character.

Mass0234: Yes, of course.

Nope: Yep, definitely.

Ospite324: I will try to update whenever I can.

Maybe. Not sure yet of introducing good Kaijus in this story.

Guest(4): No. I'm sorry, but I can't imagine myself making a crossover using these two series.

Guest(5): Maybe, I'm still thinking about whether I should bring more Ultras into this story or not.

Mps5533: 1) That sounds like an interesting idea! But, first of all, I would need to come up with a cool name. Do you a suggestion?

2) Maybe. Not sure yet of introducing good Kaijus in this story.

3) Using Ultra Dynamite sounds certainly a badass way to kill Horoboros, but it's not the way I want for Ultraman Dyna to beat him.

Guest(6): Thanks! I also like Ultramen Tiga and Gaia as well and would definitely make use of them if I want later. Currently, I'm just unsure if I should add more Ultra Heroes or not in this story.

Guest(7): I don't want to make use of Gypsy Danger yet because Raleigh and Mako still need to first learn how to work together before being able to pilot the said Jaeger.

Guest(8): I will try to update this story whenever I can.
