I do not own anything. The Golden Girls nor Stephanie Plum belong to me. They were written by very creative people, and my story is for enjoyment only. Please enjoy.
Rose sat with a smile on her face. She was always a morning person. "So, Stephanie. Dorothy says you are a bounty hunter. I bet that is very exciting." Stephanie and her Edna both took a seat. "Yes. We work for my cousin Vinnie. We is a snake, but the pay can be good." Just then Sophia walked into the room, rubbing an eye. "What's all the racket in here? She yelled. "I'm not in my sixties anymore!" Edna stood and went to her friend. " Sophia!"Edna exclaimed with joy. The two just stood, hugging each other with tears running down their faces. Finally, after a few minutes they both calmed down, wiping their faces. "It's been too long." Sophia said. "Tell me, how have you been?" Edna shrugged. " I bought a gun, I wear thongs now, and am thinking about getting a nose ring." Dorothy rolled her eyes in sync with Stephanie, but neither commented. " That's my girl. Have you eaten?" Just as Edna was about tonanswer, Blanche and Lula entered the living room. Dorothy held her breath, as she saw the look that Sophia gave Lula. Dorothy new her mother could be a way welcoming woman, or a cankerous old prune. Today, she would see the later. "Whose the prostitute?" She asked no one in particular, and not so discreetly. Before Lula could answer, Dorothy chimed in. "Ma. Why don't you get ready and we will get breakfast ready. And your teeth in the right way." Sophia gave Dorothy a look to kill, but kept her peace, after all she had plans that didn't involve getting on Dorothy's bad side so soon.
Dorothy's Point of View
As look in the fridge looking for something delicious, I find the ingredients for my famous Spanish omlette. Tose began making pancakes, and Blanche started serving the coffee. "I'm glad you came,Edna. Ma could really use the support." Edna nodded. "Yes. Glady's death was hard on us all. She wouldn't want us to be miserable." There was a moment of silence. Ma walked in and took a seat. "How have you been Edna? Ma says, taking a seat. "Oh. You know. I have aches and pains, but having Stephanie around keeps me is nothing like Helen." Edna replied. "She is so uptight. She treats me like an invalid, but Steph treats me like a friend. " Stephanie blushed. "Take notes,Pussycat." Ma says. "Maybe I will start wearing thongs." Ma says making me choke back on my vomit. Ma grabs a slice of toast. Edna turns to me and sighs. "Dorothy, I was hoping to have your mother over for a vistit." Dorothy and the girls began serving plates. "Take her to see the old neighborhood. See Trenton." I smiled, but didn't like the idea of my helpless mother going out of town. She was a tough woman, but her mental stabiity was questionable. "We'll see Edna. Let's deal with the funeral first." Everyone was quiet. "So. Stephanie, tell me. How's working with Vinnie?" I asked in hopes of changing the subject. "You know Vinnie?" Lula asked. Mom looked up from her plate and scoffed. " That botch-a-gloop. No duck should have gone through what that duck went through." Serveral silverware dshes clanoed as the dropped on the plates. Ma wiped her mouth. "You know about that?" Stephanie asked. " Who doesn't? My SAL, may he rest in peace, was a good husband, but addicted to gambling. Him and Vinnie would meet on Thursdays with a group of guys. We'll, Vinnie began hanging out with a different group. Sal didn't care really, he won a few good hands and that was all he cared about. We'll, let's just say one night the stakes got high and someone took a duck out. Sal quit gambling cold turkey." Pa still gambl d, just never with Vinnie. "So, Stephanie. Do you have a beau?" Blanche asked. Stephanie blushed. "We'll, I...uh" she stammered. "One? Not my white girl!" Lula exclaimed. "Don't tell me you went back to Dickie?" I asked. Dickie Orr was a grade A sleeze ball. "No. What kind of no self respecting woman would go back to an ex who cheated on her?" Lula stomped. "Yeah. Dorothy. What kind of woman would degrade herself like that?" I gave Ma a look to kill, but she lived to push my buttons "You know Dickie?" Lula asked. "Yes. When he first started his career, his first client was my ex husband. Stan needed a cheap lawyer, and Dicki needed the practice and money" I said. "So. Steph. Who are you seeing?" I asked. "We'll she is seeing what...three men?" I choked on my coffee. "What?!" I exclaimed. "We'll, I have been seeing Joe for the past three months." She took a sip of coffee. "And Ranger." Lulanjumped in. "Weren't you engaged to Denzel?" Edna chimed in. "Disel. Not Denzel. Denzel is a actor." They app nodded. "Joe? You mean little Joey Morelli? Oh. Stephanie. Stay away from Morelli. All Morelli men. They are all scum" I said looking straight into Stephanie's eyes.
"Not all" Ma said. "Mr. Morelli, Joe's great uncle, is a marvelous dancer." I sighed. "Who is Ranger? Blanche asked."Batman" Lula said quietly as if she was afraid she would be heard. Just then Stephanie's cell phone rang, making all the women jump. "Hello..." Stephanie said. Lula kept talking about Ranger and when he was. "He is fine! Too high maintenance for me. But that's what she likes." Lula clarriefied. " Nice ass, too." All of us spit out our coffee. "I have seen him naked." Edna would not be seeing mom in Jersey. Now or ever. Stephanie hung up." Our Target has been found. Let's go" Stephanie said to Lula. "Aunt Dorothy. Our guy has been spotted. Thank you for breakfast. Can you keep an eye on my grandmother. We should be or meet you at the funeral." I nodded. "Be safe." I said. Blanche got up." Here. This is the number to the fire department. If you need any help. Asked for Ed. Tell him you are a friend of mine. No questions asked." Stephanie just nodded. "We'll, let's clean up." I said.
