Evie's eyes fluttered open and she rose gracefully from her bed. She looked around her and Mal's dorm and took it all in. They've been in Auradon for nearly two months now, but it was still just so nice for Evie to finally be living in a place fitting for a princess. She glanced over to her best friend Mal, still asleep in her bed. She was so used to seeing Mal scowl even while asleep, but lately, Mal managed to actually look peaceful. Evie stepped out of her bed and stretched before moving over to the window. She threw the curtains open and let sunlight enter the room unobstructed. She heard a small groan come from the other side of the room. She smiled before walking over and sitting on the edge of Mal's bed.
"Mal," She said and she began to shake the purple haired schemer. "Time to wake up, we have school today."
"How do you manage to have this kind of energy in the morning?" Mal asked, sitting up.
"It's called looking on the brightside. Try it sometime, it's good for the skin."
"Can you at least close the curtains first?" Mal asked, covering herself with her blankets. Evie sighed and closed them upon Mal's request. "There we go." She said sitting up.
"Come on, I'm sure the boys are already up."
"Carlos. Carlos, hey Carlos. Wake up." Carlos recognized the voice instantly and woke up smiling.
"Chad?" He looked over and saw his crush sitting on the edge of his bed. "What're you doing here?"
"Jay let me in. Told me you wanted to tell me something."
"God dammit Jay." Carlos cursed under his breath.
"Is everything ok?"
"I guess it's time I finally come clean then." Carlos said, scooting up close. "Chad, I like you, a lot. I've liked you ever since I met you. I really wanted to tell you sooner, but I was just too scared to-" Carlos' confession was cut off by Chad kissing Carlos. "Wait, wha-"
"I've felt the same way." Chad told him. Carlos smiled as they continued to kiss, but deeper this time. Chad layed Carlos back down and removed his shirt. Carlos reached out and felt up Chad's abs before he quickly removed his own shirt. Chad leaned down and-
"I said get up!" Jay said, flipping Carlos' mattress and causing the younger boy to fall to the floor
"What the Hell Jay?!"
"Wanted to make sure you were still alive."
"I was right in the middle of a good dream, thank you very much." Jay's eyes moved toward the tent in Carlos' boxer-briefs.
"Yeah, I can tell." He said, looking away. Carlos blushed and moved his hands over that area. "Chad?"
"No shit it was Chad."
"Dude, you got to tell him already. Or just get over him if you're not going to."
"It's not that easy. It's not like when you're into a girl. I don't know what'll happen if he doesn't like me back? What if he tells the whole school?" Carlos asked.
"Look if anything bad happens, me and the girls will handle it ok?" He reassured his roommate, placing a hand on his shoulder.
"Yeah, ok I'll try to tell him before Homecoming."
"There you go." He said, walking away to change. "You're already doing better than Mal."
"Is she ever gonna tell Ben she likes him?" Carlos asked with a laugh, pushing his mattress back up onto the rest of his bed.
"She needs to admit it to herself first."
"Yo Ben, you forgetting something?" Mal asked as he passed her locker. She was holding out a cookie in a small bag.
"Didn't want to make it look like that's the only reason I'm happy to see you." He said, happily taking it. "Will you be at the game later today? Second to last game of the season."
"E's a cheerleader, she'd kill me if I missed one." She told him.
Audrey walked outside and saw Ben, her Ben, talking and laughing with Mal. She inhaled deeply and then moved over to break it up. "Hey Bennyboo! I've been looking all over for you! Oh hi Mal, I didn't see you there."
"Hi. I gotta go. I'll catch up with you later Ben." Mal said walking off.
"I'm starting to think that girl's trouble."
"Starting? Audrey I heard you go on about this before they even got here. It's been two months, I was hoping you could try getting along with them better."
"Well, the other three are ok I guess, but there's something about Mal I just can;t get behind."
"Look Audrey-"
"But, for your sake, I'm willing to be civil. I need to get to class." She said leaning up and planting a kiss on Ben's cheek before walking away.
"I think I got it!" Chad said, jumping from his chair in the middle of the library only to be met with sh's.
"Hey, that's great to hear. Can you tone it down, just a little?" Carlos said, bringing Chad back down from his celebration.
"Right," He said sitting back down. "You know, thanks a lot for agreeing to help with my classes man. I really appreciate it."
"Or course. It's no problem." Carlos looked down and saw how close their hands were and started to breath heavily. "Hey Chad?"
"Yeah, what's up dude?"
"Listen, if you found out that something was...different about me, would we still be friends?"
"Hey I don't care that you're from the Isle. You really got me out of a jam here. Whatever it is, I won't look at you differently Carlos." Carlos smiled to himself hearing those words come from his crush. "So what do you want to tell me?"
"Oh um, it was….it was nothing. Totally hypothetical." Carlos said in a slight panic.
"What?"
"An 'as if,'"
"Oh I gotcha. So do you have a date for Homecoming?" Chad asked.
"No, but there is someone I hope I get to go with." Carlos said, catching a glance at Chad.
"Anyone I know?"
"Maybe they are, maybe they aren't, maybe I won't tell you." Carlos said with a smirk.
"Ok smart guy." Chad said, nudging Carlos as they laughed together. "There's someone I got my eye on, that's for sure."
"You gonna tell me who it is?"
"Unlike you, I got no secrets. Promise not to freak out?"
"Do I really seem like someone who's prone to freaking out?" Carlos asked.
"You got a panic attack when I first met you."
"Ok, that's fair. Go on."
"So, this may sound a bit crazy, but I was thinking about asking Ally." Chad admitted. Carlos felt his heart fall into his stomach but tried to stay calm.
"I don't think Ally's your biggest fan buddy." Carlos told him, turning back to his homework.
"I know, but that makes it all the more interesting." Chad said. "It's not fun if I ask someone who already wants to go with me."
"Yeah, why want to spend time with someone who already likes you?" Carlos muttered.
"What's up?" Chad asked, not quite hearing him.
"Hm? Oh, nothing."
"Chad, game time. Let's go." Jay said, walking up behind them.
"That's my cue. You coming to the game?" He asked Carlos.
"As soon as I finish up here. I'll get there before it ends at least."
"All right, catch you later." Chad said, walking off with Jay.
"I could probably feel that tension from my dorm." Ally said, next to Carlos.
"What the fu-long have you been sitting there?" Carlos asked after nearly falling out of his chair.
"Long enough,"
"So, you know Chad's going to ask you to Homecoming?"
"Well aware,"
"How badly is that going to go for him?"
"Oh, I'm going to say yes." Ally told him.
"What? Why?" Carlos asked.
"Gives me the chance to get in close. I'll finally get the scoop on how he manages to trick so many of the girls here."
"You'll do anything for a story won't you?"
"Of course. It's my mission to find the truth, no matter how far I need to dig."
"Hope that doesn't bite you in the ass someday."
I know this chapter seems shorter than usual and I'm sorry, this was just an update so ya'll know I'm still alive and still plan on continuing these stories and characters. I'm also writing two stories on the side, but they're original works and probably won't be posted unless I get comments and/or dms saying to post them. Thundermans Fast Forward and High School of Rock are still happening and will continue where they left off. I really appreciate the continued support I have received despite not updating in a long time. Chapters will probably still come out sparingly until late December. I hope you continue reading and I hope to see you all next time
