"Where am I?" "Am I really awake?"
Tetra opened her eyes and she wondered, was she really awake? It didn't make sense. Her last image was not being able to see Link anymore and hearing Ganondorf mention he had her piece of the Triforce.
She gulped, or was she actually dead now?
She looked around and realized she was floating in the air above the Great Sea? Or was it? She could not see any islands around, just continuous blue oceans as far as her eyes could see. She stared at them for a while thinking.
Looking at these blue oceans it truly hit Tetra just how much she missed sailing the Great Sea with her crew. A crew that for all of their intriguing personalities and mistakes was completely loyal to her. Yet, one again she thought of someone else as well; someone who she now desperately longed to sail the Great Sea with. The one who had said he would protect her at all costs.
Tetra thought of that last image she saw of Link, the look in his face as he fought past those monsters, The fire in his eyes seeing her not safe. Tetra felt beyond guilty; Ganondorf now had two pieces of the Triforce in his possession. He only needed one more and he would finally have what he said he had been craving for centuries. She had failed to protect her Triforce piece from falling into his evil hands.
"I'm sorry Link, I've failed you." Tetra said sadly.
"And I'm sorry mother, I've failed you too." Tetra said now bursting into tears.
"You have not failed Tetra." A kind voice then said.
Tetra knew that voice. She hadn't heard it in years.
She looked around and there behind her was…her mother!
Her mother was smiling and Tetra didn't believe this could be real. She slowly walked toward he mother. Her mother continued to smile. Tetra gazed at her in disbelief,
"Mo…Mother?" she barely whispered. This couldn't be real.
"Yes Tetra, it truly is me." Her mother answered softly.
Tetra immediately threw herself into her arms, sobbing uncontrollably. Her mother continued to smile down at her. Tetra felt more like the little carefree girl she had been before her mother's passing.
"Mother!" Tetra cried out happily, tears running down her face. They hugged for a few minutes without a word.
"You have not failed Tetra." Her mother finally said again to Tetra still having a kind gaze looking at her.
"Yes, I have!" Tetra wailed.
"Ganondorf now has my Triforce piece, the same piece you told me to protect and guard with my life."
"And I failed to stop him from getting it!" Tetra finished ready to cry more now.
Her mother still had a small smile on her face.
"It is not over Tetra, there is still hope." Her mother said to her.
"Where are we, is this a dream?" Tetra then asked her mother looking around.
"I…I guess you could call it that." Her mother responded.
"So I am not dead?" Tetra asked frightened.
"No Tetra, you are not dead, you are under a powerful curse placed on you by Ganondorf, you are in between realities now but you are still very much alive, I assure you of this." Her mother responded softly.
Tetra didn't understand this, but before she could say anything else, her mother spoke again,
"If anything, it is my fault that Ganondorf now possesses the Triforce of Wisdom. It is my fault for not learning more when I was alive so that I may have passed it down to you one day so you would understand our family's history better even if I was deceased." Her mother added sadly.
"What do you mean?" Tetra asked.
"I should've learned more from your grandmother about our family's history. I was in some ways in your same position when I was younger and I put you in an impossible situation." She lamented.
"For years, I tried to research and understand exactly what the legendary treasure was beneath the Great Sea. I never could fully understand it myself. I assumed like you have, that it was some incredible jewel. I told you to guard and protect your necklace with your life, but that was the only thing that had been passed down to me. Only after death did I fully understand truly how important that necklace was and the legendary treasure was something truly otherworldly and more importantly what our family's roles were in protecting it. The very reason we exist."
"In your cabin on the pirate ship, that map that you would always see front and center showed where the legendary treasure lay hidden,, the same map that Link looked at with curiosity. That map showed where the legendary kingdom of Hyrule lay hidden underneath the great waves of the Great Sea, where the legendary treasure, the Triforce was said to be."
Tetra stood there still feeling guilty about her failure to protect it. Her mother again smiled at her.
"You have not failed Tetra, it was inevitable the King of Evil would find you. He has such terrifying power and he would, as King Daphes said, would not rest until he had found you and claimed your piece of the Triforce. You are currently being held at Ganon's Tower. Link is fighting his way through it now beyond determined to save you."
Tetra broke her gaze from her mother and stared off into the sea after hearing this. She had so many questions to ask; she still didn't fully understand her fate or anything about Hyrule. She then thought of the name that her mother said was fighting through Ganon's Tower to save her. Tetra gasped, Link was still trying to rescue her and it sounded like he would not rest until he did! Tetra then turned and looked at her mother wondering if her mother that was now deceased could give her the answer to this question that was most important to her. Tetra then spoke rather quietly. She had wondered it ever since she saw the Master Sword sheathed on his back and needed to know the answer. Ever since she had that dream of him protecting her from Ganondorf, since she first actually met him.
"Mother, regarding Link, is he really…the Hero of Time himself?"
"He is not." Another voice spoke out.
Tetra and her mother whipped around. A beautiful young woman was walking towards them as they floated over the Great Sea. She was wearing a dress that looked similar to the one that Tetra had on and her hair was just as golden just like Tetra's with a beautiful crown on her head. She had a soft smile on her face. She looked to be a few years older than Tetra, in her late teens. Yet she looked similar in a lot ways to Tetra.
"Who…Who are you?" Tetra gasped looking at her.
"Link is not the Hero of Time; rather he has become a true hero in his own right." The young woman responded kindly.
"How do you know this?" Tetra asked the young woman amazed while looking at her.
"Because, I helped the Hero of Time defeat and seal away the King of Evil Ganondorf."
"What?" Tetra gasped absolutely shocked hearing this.
"I am the former Princess of Hyrule, I am Princess Zelda."
"Wait a minute, you're…you're my ancestor?" Tetra said as it everything was being made to clear her.
"Yes, Tetra, I am your ancestor. I fought alongside the Hero of Time and guided him throughout his quest to defeat the King of Evil, Ganondorf." Zelda responded back kindly.
"But I thought I am Zelda?" Tetra asked her ancestor hearing her say her name she had gone by all these years.
"You are still yourself Tetra; I know you prefer this name over Zelda." Her ancestor Zelda responded gently.
Tetra stared at her ancestor for a second, she was right. She did prefer being called Tetra instead of Zelda.
"Then… Zelda, who really was the Hero of Time and how did you know him?" Tetra asked her still stunned.
Zelda smiled softly,
"Do either of you know the Legend of the Hero of Time and of the kingdom of Hyrule?
Tetra and her mother both looked at each other but her mother responded.
"I know parts of the legend but not as much as I should've. It would've helped Tetra so much as she grew up to understand our family's history better."
"I only knew enough before to question Link where he had gotten the Master Sword from." Tetra added rather sheepishly feeling bad she didn't know more.
Princess Zelda smiled.
"Hyrule has always been the goddesses chosen kingdom going back to the creation of the world. "
Princess Zelda then began,
"Before time began, before spirits and life existed... Three golden goddesses descended upon the chaos that was Hyrule... Din, the goddess of power... Nayru, the goddess of wisdom... Farore, the goddess of courage... Din... With her strong flaming arms, she cultivated the land and created the red earth. Nayru... Poured her wisdom onto the earth and gave the spirit of law to the world. Farore... With her rich soul, produced all life forms who would uphold the law."
Tetra listened and could picture all of this and started to understand. She had heard these names before, but didn't understand who they were and yet now…
Zelda continued,
"The three great goddesses with their labor completed, departed for the heavens. And golden sacred triangles remained at the point where the goddesses left the world. Since then, the sacred triangles have become the basis of our world's providence. And the resting place has become known as the Sacred Realm."
"Those sacred triangles are the legendary treasure spoken of in the legends passed down on the Great Sea, the Triforce. The Triforce contains the power of the gods inside of it; anyone who touches it will have their wish granted by it. Many have died fighting over time trying to find and control this ultimate power. As you know now Tetra, Our families sole purpose is to protect it from evil."
Tetra stood amazed at what she was hearing; she knew this now since she turned into a princess and had been awakened to her fate, but to hear this coming from her ancestor.
Her ancestor Princess Zelda continued speaking looking off into the distance.
"Hyrule was a beautiful land, full of forests, mountains, a majestic and beautiful lake, home to many races and creatures. It was everything anyone could ever dream of."
Zelda took a second to allow Tetra and her mother to think what Zelda had said sink into their minds before she continued.
"Ten years before the events I am about to explain to you, there was a fierce war in Hyrule. The war eventually ended with Hyrule unified under one banner. My father, the King of Hyrule led the way in unifying this beautiful land and peace eventually rained, though it did not last."
Zelda stopped for second and Tetra could tell this tale Zelda was going to tell gave her great sorrow.
"When I was young, I had a prophetic dream. In my dream, dark storm clouds gathered over Hyrule. Suddenly, a bright light shot out from the forest, parting the dark clouds and lit up the ground of Hyrule. A light turned into a figure holding a green and shining stone that was closely followed by a fairy."
She then turned around and holding out her hand that sparkled changed the blue seas below so that all the waves were as still as glass and all three of them could see their reflections clearly. Looking down at the completely still sea, Tetra saw Zelda change the sea so that they were looking now looking down at a beautiful courtyard in what looked like a castle. There was a young girl with golden blonde hair who was looking through a window. Tetra looked and saw she was wearing the same dress as she was! She realized she was looking at the memories of her ancestor.
Suddenly, a young boy wearing a green tunic appeared with a matching green hat on his head that was being followed…by a fairy! He was looking at Zelda as she was staring into the window. Zelda sensed his presence and turned around and had a look of blank shock on her face.
"Who are you? How did you get past the guards?" she asked him. Her face was completely shocked.
The boy said nothing. Seeing his face clearly now, Tetra knew immediately who it was. She had seen it every night on her wall in her cabin next to her bed. It was him, the legendary Hero of Time! He had beautiful wavy blonde hair and his face was one of a handsome young lad, one that Tetra had seen on her picture, one that looked like someone else she knew…Link!
Zelda in her memory then smiled a little after seeing who he was accompanied by and asked if he had the spiritual stone of the forest with him. He showed her he did have it with him, it was a bright green and shiny stone. She giggled when she saw this and knew her instincts had been right.
Zelda in her memory then explained the same dream that her adult form had just told Tetra and her mother to the Hero of Time. She then apologized for not properly introducing herself and told him she was Zelda, Princess of Hyrule.
"What is your name?" She then asked him.
"Link," The boy responded.
"His name was Link too?" Tetra thought in her head.
"Strange…It seems somehow…familiar." The young Zelda responded lost a little in thought.
The young Zelda then told the Hero of Time she was going to reveal to him the Hyrule Royal Family's legend about the Triforce. She urged him to not repeat this to anyone; he nodded his head and replied he would not. She smiled and then started talking,
"The three goddesses hid the Triforce containing the power of the gods somewhere in Hyrule; The power to grant the wish of the one who holds the Triforce in their hands. If someone with a righteous heart makes a wish, it will lead Hyrule to a golden age or prosperity…If someone with an evil mind has their wish granted…the world will be consumed by evil…that is what has been told. So the ancient sages built the Temple of Time to protect the Triforce from evil ones."
"The Temple of Time" Tetra said completely puzzled?
The adult version of Zelda standing next to Tetra above the memory looked toward Tetra. She smiled and said,
"It will make sense very soon Tetra, I promise."
Looking back down at the memory playing in front of her, Tetra saw the young Zelda seemed to now be asking the Hero of Time to look through the same window that she had been looking into. She saw that he now was looking and saw a man in black armor kneeling in front of a man who Tetra realized must have been Zelda's father, the King of Hyrule. Looking at the man in black armor, Tetra immediately realized who it must be.
"Ganondorf!" she gasped. He looked far younger but still had the look of pure evil of his face and in his eyes.
Zelda nodded darkly,
"The other element of my dream…the dark clouds, I believe they symbolize that man in there." The young Zelda said to the Hero of Time in the memory.
"Can you see the man in there with the evil eyes? That is Ganondorf, the leader of the Gerudos. They hail from the desert far to the west. Though he swears allegiance to my father, I am sure he is not sincere. The dark clouds from my dream…they must symbolize that man!" young Zelda finished and Tetra saw Ganondorf looked over to where the Hero of Time was peeking through and a chill went up her spine seeing his full face.
The young Zelda in the memory then told Link that they were the only ones who could protect and save Hyrule from Ganondorf. When she asked him if he believed her, he immediately said yes and that he would help her. She flashed a huge smile to him when he said this. She then gave him a letter and just as he leaving the courtyard, the memory started to blur but Tetra could still see through it enough and hear enough to know what was going. It was almost like her ancestor didn't want Tetra to see this next scene. She was not looking at it with them, her eyes were closed.
She saw her ancestor in the flashback look toward the Hero of Time and tell him quietly and slowly wave to him as he was leaving.
"Be careful okay?"
Tetra didn't gasp or say anything but she remembered telling her Link almost the exact same words back in Hyrule Castle right before he left and slowly waved to him as well. Zelda's memory faded completely away now and once again blue oceans were below. Tetra looked back up toward her ancestor who seemed strangely a little quiet and didn't have a smile on her face now. She seemed to be gazing off into the distance Tetra thought sadly.
"So what happened?" Tetra asked. Her ancestor then seemed to snap back to reality immediately. She started talking.
"At the time, I realized that my father did believe that Ganondorf was sincere. I told him about my dream, but he did not see it as a prophecy. Link, the Hero of Time did believe me. He said he too had = nightmares about this same evil man. I came to the conclusion that Ganondorf had come to Hyrule for one purpose, to obtain the Triforce for himself and to conquer the world using it. Knowing now at that point only Link and I were capable of stopping him, we decided that we would get to the Triforce first before Ganondorf. I was afraid of what Ganondorf would do to Hyrule, he has such terrifying power."
She stopped for a second.
"I sent Link out to find the other keys to gain access to the Triforce but kept the one royal family treasure that was also needed to gain access to the Triforce, the Ocarina of Time. While he was away, my true fear had been realized; Ganondorf betrayed my father and was after me to take the Ocarina of Time from me by force. My attendant Impa sensed the danger beforehand and immediately took me away from the castle."
Zelda then once again using her hand transformed the sea again into another memory,
Her young self was riding on the back a majestic white horse with a strange woman with her on the horse. They galloped past a number of injured soldiers and then they were galloping at a rapid speed away from the castle through a market toward a drawbridge. It was nighttime and lightening was flashing overhead. Tetra had seen this woman accompanying Zelda on the horse before in a stained glass window in the basement of the castle. Tetra could see the young Zelda had a look of true fear on her face. They crossed the drawbridge which quickly lowered and Tetra saw in front of their path was the Hero of Time. The horse nearly hit the young boy who had jumped out of the way at the last second in shock!
"LINK!" Zelda's young self screamed at him and looking back toward the boy threw what looked like an Ocarina into the moat of the castle near where he was standing. The horse continued to gallop further and further away from the moat, the Hero of Time was standing there still.
Zelda then spoke in a quiet voice, gazing at the memory.
"I…I had never been more scared than at that time. I threw Link the Ocarina of Time hoping he had collected all three of the spiritual stones, the keys to opening the Door of Time. My fears turned to pure terror when I realized who was about to run into Link…Ganondorf! He had chased us out of the castle desperate to find the Ocarina of Time. He would run right into Link near that drawbridge!"
"Impa we have to turn back, we have to save him! Ganondorf will kill him!" her younger self screamed in terror in the memory!
"We cannot Princess Zelda! We must get you as far away from Ganondorf as possible! The boy will be ok, I promise!" Impa replied back firmly but with full confidence in the words that she was saying.
Zelda then looked down at the memory of her younger self as she and Impa rode away, the young Zelda continued to look backward toward the castle in her memory petrified that they had left Link.
"Ganondorf attacked Link, but Link survived this encounter and used the Ocarina of Time to open the Door of Time which led to the Sacred Realm, the resting place of the Triforce. I…I will never forget that even as young as he was, he protected me and Impa and refused to tell Ganondorf which way we had fled. The courage it had to have taken him to stand up to Ganondorf knowing it was a fight he could not win. I didn't believe that as long as Link had the Ocarina of Time, Ganondorf could enter the Sacred Realm. I believed Link would touch the Triforce and wish for the end of Ganondorf. But something I never could have expected happened. Inside the Door of Time was the legendary blade of evil's bane-"
"The Master Sword" Tetra gasped.
Zelda nodded to her remark.
"Link pulled the Master Sword out of its pedestal which would lead to the Sacred Ream. Only a true hero is capable of wielding that legendary blade. Evil can never touch it and only those who have pure hearts can touch it. But as he pulled that legendary blade out, his spirit was immediately sealed inside the Sacred Realm and kept there for seven long years. With the Door of Time now open, the Sacred Realm was completely defenseless. Ganondorf had outmaneuvered us and he doubled back to the Temple of Time and watched Link when he opened the Door of Time. With Link now sealed away inside, Ganondorf then invaded the Sacred Realm and laid his hands on the Triforce!"
Tetra and her mother gasped. Zelda then continued.
"Link was too young to be the Hero of Time at the time and that is why his spirit was sealed away for seven long years. During this time while his spirit was sealed away, Ganondorf became the King of Evil and transformed Hyrule into a wasteland of pure evil brimming with monsters. He demolished Hyrule Castle and replaced it with his own and obliterated the market town killing many… but all hope was not yet lost."
Tetra shuddered hearing this; she remembered what she had seen at Greatfish Isle, how the island was ripped to shreds by Ganondorf. How many innocent souls died instantly there?
"So, what happened to you Zelda, where did you go?" Tetra then asked.
"Impa had me go into hiding and I disguised myself as a Sheikah like she was to hide from Ganondorf. The Sheikah for generations had served to protect the Royal Family as well as preventing the Triforce from falling into evil's hands. I waited seven long years waiting for Link to reappear and then finally, Link awakened from his slumber. I was there when he awoke. I was disguised and I knew right away looking at him holding the Master Sword that he was fully capable of defeating the King of Evil. I secretly guided him through Hyrule to awaken the six ancient sages, the creators of Hyrule that were needed to seal away Ganondorf. Link had no idea that it was me Zelda that was guiding him. I did this to prevent Ganondorf from suspecting who I really was in disguise. I did not ever stay long with Link whenever I met up with him even if I did privately want to see him. Those ancient six sages that Link awakened are those memorialized in those stain glass windows Tetra where you were hiding in Hyrule Castle. Many of them were friends of his during his childhood who he had met while searching for the keys to the Door of Time. My attendant Impa also is one of these sages."
Tetra nodded, it made sense. She remembered looking at those stained glass windows.
"While I was disguised, I learned about an unknown legend about the Triforce that was passed down by the shadow folk, the Sheikah, but not known to anyone else, not even the royal family."
Zelda took a deep breath and explained,
"The resting place of the sacred triangle, the Sacred Realm, is a mirror that reflects what is in the heart...the heart of one who enters it...If an evil heart, the Realm will become full of evil; if pure, the Realm will become a paradise. The Triforce...the sacred triangle... it is a balance that weighs the three forces: Power, Wisdom and Courage. If the heart of the one who holds the sacred triangle has all three forces in balance, that one will gain the True Force to govern all. But, if that one's heart is not in balance, the Triforce will separate into three parts: Power, Wisdom and Courage. Only one part will remain for the one who touched the Triforce...the part representing the force that one most believes in. If that one seeks the True Force, that one must acquire the two lost parts. Those two parts will be held within others chosen by destiny, who will bear the Triforce mark on the backs of their hands."
Tetra looked down at her hand that had bared the Triforce mark until Ganondorf had stolen it.
Zelda continued,
"When Ganondorf touched the Triforce, that legend became true. Ganondorf's heart was not in balance and he was only left with the Triforce of Power which was the force he most believed in which he used to become the King of Evil. While he was able to conqueror Hyrule using it, his dark ambitions were not satisfied. To gain absolute control of the world, Ganondorf would need to track down those who carried the other missing parts of the Triforce by destiny and take their pieces of the Triforce and only when all three were combined, would his dark wish finally be granted."
"The Triforce of Wisdom ended up in my possession which I used to turn myself into a Sheikah while the Triforce of Courage was given to…"
"The Hero of Time" Tetra answered understanding fully.
"Yes," Zelda said nodding her head.
"When the Triforce of Wisdom ended up in my possession, I learned the very fate and reason why I lived. The Hyrule Royal Family, which both of you are descendents of, are responsible for protecting the Triforce and not allowing it to fall into evil hands. We have looked after the Triforce for as long as the Triforce has existed."
Tetra looked down still feeling guilty of failing to protect her piece of the Triforce. Zelda continued her story.
"When Link finally awaked all six sages, I revealed my true self to him at the Temple of Time. I told him I was the true leader of the six sages and that we would lure Ganondorf back to the Sacred Realm to seal him away. I gave Link the Arrows of Light, the only things that could penetrate Ganondorf's dark defenses and only given to those chosen. Ganondorf, however had been waiting for me to eventually reveal myself and let Link roam through Hyrule knowing I would reveal my true identity to him at some point. Ganondorf immediately captured me at the Temple of Time right after I gave Link the arrows of light. Ganondorf challenged Link to come rescue me in his tower but was merely a trap by Ganondorf for him to steal the Triforce of Courage from Link after he now had me and my piece captured. He knew Link would not rest if I was not safe."
Zelda once again calmed the waters below to show another memory. Tetra privately remembered seeing the anger in her own Link's face when he saw she was not safe when Ganondorf had kidnapped her.
Now as old as she was in her memory as she was standing next to Tetra, Zelda, The Hero of Time and Ganondorf were at the top of what looked like a castle, obviously Ganondorf's Tetra thought. Zelda was encased in a pink barrier looking down at the other two scared. The Hero of Time was much older as well now Tetra could see, he was much taller, more physically strong, and she couldn't help but notice far more handsome than before but wearing the same green outfit as he did when he was younger. He had in his left hand the Master Sword with a massive metal shield in his right hand and a look of determination on his face, Tetra could see a glimpse of fire in his eyes, the same look she saw in her own Link's eyes. She watched as Ganondorf used dark energy waves to try to steal the Triforce of Courage from the Hero of Time, but he rebuffed his attack. Laughing manically at the hero, Ganondorf and the Hero of Time started to battle.
Tetra watched in amazement as Ganondorf floated above the Hero of Time and sent an energy attack at him, how the Hero of Time deflected Ganondorf's magic attack back at Ganondorf with the Master Sword who appeared to be surprised by this, but then immediately sent it back toward the Hero of Time. As the two deflected it back and forth at each other at greater speeds, The Hero of Time was confidently slowly moving towards Ganondorf each volley. Eventually it finally struck Ganondorf who was stunned by his own magic. Tetra remembered seeing her Link do this exact same thing to that phantom creature that looked like Ganondorf at the Forsaken Fortress. The Hero of Time then shot an arrow of light at Ganondorf that consumed him with tremendous pain and he floated down to the ground where the Hero of Time unleashed a series of violent slashes with the Master Sword on him. Ganondorf eventually got back up and then held above his head a massive powerful dark energy bolt ready to send it toward the Hero of Time when the Hero of Time instinctively shot another arrow of light at the King of Evil who was unable to react in time to it and once again he fell to the ground. The Hero of Time unleashed numerous sword strikes on Ganondorf. The two continued to fight until Ganondorf finally collapsed clutching his throat gasping in anguish.
"The Great Evil King…Ganondorf beaten by this kid? Link…!" he gasped coughing up blood. He then roared in anger but then fell to his knees and then fell face first to the ground defeated.
Tetra watched then as the tower started to collapse.
Zelda then spoke looking at the memory as she and Link were running down through the collapsing tower as fast they could, him trying to shield her from falling debris and any remaining monsters.
"Ganondorf in his last breaths tried to crush us beneath the collapsing tower. I…I can never forget how the Hero of Time protected me from the rubble, how he threw himself in front of me when debris fell down from above. How he fought off all the remaining monsters of Ganondorf's army to protect me while I used my powers to open the gates blocking our escape."
Tetra watched as Zelda was using her powers desperately trying to raise the bars on a locked gate as the Hero of Time shielded her from falling rocks coming down toward them. How he was willing to get hurt to keep her safe.
"How we escaped from the tower thinking it was all over when…"
Her memory then switched to both of them softly smiling at each other only for them to suddenly hear a loud rumbling coming from the center of Ganondorf's collapsed tower that was floating in the air Tetra could see over a sea of molten lava. Tetra saw the Hero of Time instinctively put Zelda behind him. They looked at each other for a brief moment and then the Hero of Time ran toward the center of the demolished tower. A fire wall suddenly encircled the perimeter separating him from Zelda! Ganondorf then blasted out from under the debris field and rose in the air enraged! The Hero of Time drew out the Master Sword waiting for Ganondorf's next move. Looking directly at the Hero of Time with pure hatred in his face, Ganondorf used his Triforce of Power on the back of his hand and transformed screaming insanely into a monstrous creature! The same creature Tetra saw enshrined on a stained glass window in Hyrule Castle, Ganon!
The monstrous boar-like creature was four times larger than the Hero of Time and was wielding two massive matching swords! Lighting began flashing in the background as the massive beast unleashed a furious, insane volley of strikes towards the Hero of Time who dodged these and as he raised his sword to defend himself, the creature struck the Hero's sword so strongly, that it sent the Master Sword out of his hands lodging it into the ground near Princess Zelda outside the ring of fire! The Hero of Time looked over to where Zelda was and then turned back toward the massive beast with a look of pure determination on his face and ready to end this once and for all.
Zelda then spoke again looking at the memory,
"I truly believe at that moment, Ganondorf cared more about killing the Hero of Time then controlling the Triforce."
The Hero of Time pulled out his bow and stunned the massive beast with an arrow of light in the head and then went to the creature 'backside where its tail was and fired another arrow of light at its tail. The Hero dodged Ganon as it recovered and slashed at him violently. He repeated this numerous times, each time using a different strategy until finally the beast collapsed enough that its fire barrier was gone and Tetra saw the Hero of Time immediately run toward Zelda as she yelled for him and saw him grab the Master Sword out of the ground. He ventured back into the fiery fray and engaged once again with the monstrosity. The two traded sword strikes and a couple times during these strikes, the Hero of Time easily could've died from these as when he got hit, Zelda in the memory gasped with pure fear at his safety. The Hero continued to attack the beasts tail this time with the Master Sword and Ganon collapsed again.
Tetra watched as Zelda in the memory used her magical abilities to hold the evil king in place as the Hero of Time landed a devastating final blow on him from the Master Sword. As Ganon screamed in pain, Tetra heard Zelda yell to the sages that the time was now to seal the evil king away. She watched as Ganon was thrown into what looked like a bright white light.
"He was imprisoned into the Evil Realm which is really the Sacred Realm that he stained when he originally entered it." Zelda spoke to Tetra and her mother as they watched the portal close.
Tetra then heard Ganondorf roar in pure fury as the portal closed.
"YOU…"
"CURSE YOU… ZELDA!"
"CURSE YOU…SAGES!"
"CURSE YOU…LINK!"
"Someday when this seal is broken…THAT IS THE DAY I WILL EXTERMINATE YOUR DESCENDANTS!"
"As long the Triforce of Power is in my hands…" he then added calmly almost predicting the future.
Zelda's memory ended and Tetra once again looked at her ancestor.
"So that's the legend of the Hero of Time." She asked amazed.
"Not all of it." Zelda responded quietly.
Zelda then put her hands over her heart and looked incredibly sad thinking about what she was about to say next.
Tetra then asked her ancestor. She needed to know, something wasn't adding up about the Hero of Time. Why didn't he appear to stop Ganondorf again if he could travel through time?
"Zelda, what happened to the Hero of Time?"
Tetra, looking at her ancestor could tell what she was going to say next was causing her to relive a scene she did not wish to.
