At the moment, the group was just outside of their fort, patching each other up after everything they went through. Georgia, Jane, Nigel and Lucy mostly had bruises while Persephone, Haiku and Ken had a few cuts on their heads. Either way, they all had a few bandages wrapped around them. Stacey herself looked relatively fine, but was pacing the floor, lost in her own mind. The group could only imagine that she's thinking of new ways on how to kill the monster they had just faced. Georgia and Nigel were looking after what weapons they had left, with Nigel cleaning his rifle and Kama staring one of her Kamas.
Meanwhile, Ken was eating two brownies with nuts in them, much to the annoyance of Georgia and Nigel...
Georgia:"I can't believe you're seriously eating right now."
Ken:"(stuffed face) What? I was hungry."
Nigel:"Wait. Why do you have two?"
Ken:"...Umm..."
Georgia:"We packed one brownie for each of us, remember?"
Ken:"(gulps) Oh. Weird."
Nigel's"You little..."
Georgia:"Forget it.
Back to Stacey, she continued to be lost in thought, biting at her nails, thinking of some possible way to kill the guardian...
Stacey:"(out loud) Maybe we could try blowing him up. We just need some explosives."
Georgia:"And where, pre tell, are you gonna find those?"
Stacey:"That's a...good question."
Jane:"Stacey, I think you should sit down for a bit."
Stacey:"Nope, I'm perfectly fine?"
Persephone:"Your feet look like they're about to give out."
It's true. Stacey couldn't but feel like her feet were about to bleed. But she wasn't gonna let that bother her just yet, as she continued to pace. She wasn't gonna let that stop her. She was determined to see the guardian dead...
Lucy:"Lily, can try to calm Stacey down, please?"
Nodding in agreement, Lily heads over to Stacey, who stops pacing the moment she saw her. But, she then looked away, not wanting to feel distracted...
Stacey:"No. I'm not gonna stop. I'm perfectly..."
With her eyes shifting over to Lily, she could see the little girl giving her puppy dog eyes and was reaching out to her. Unable to resist, Stacey scooped up Lily and hugged her, even going as far as to give her a peck on the forehead. Something that Lily liked very much...
Stacey:"(cuddling Lily) I hate you guys."
Jane:"We love you too."
Georgia:"Now don't you feel better?"
Stacey:"I guess. You know just how to get through me."
After a little bit of cuddling, Lily then climbs up Stacey's hair and then slides down it like an actual slide. Thankfully, Lucy caught her before she could hit the ground...
Ken:"Well, at least your hair is good for something."
Stacey:"Thanks, I guess."
Haiku:"How long did it take for you to get your hair so thick?"
Stacey:"A few years. Let it grow out, but not unkept. It's just always been this way.
Lucy:"Now that you've calm down, won't you talk to us?"
Stacey:"(sighs) ...Sure."
Haiku:"So, what exactly are we planning to do now?"
Lucy:"...Haiku, I was hoping we would change the subject."
Haiku:"Sorry."
Stacey:"Well,. considering we lost some of our weapons back over there, we're going to need to resupply."
Jane:"There's a town not too far from here. With any luck, we'll find useful things there."
Stacey:"Sounds promising?"
Nigel:"Do we really have to go right now? It's been a long night."
Stacey:"Sorry, Nigel. But some things can't wait."
Persephone:"You guys go. We'll stay here and...keep things safe."
Georgia:"You sound almost sad?"
Lucy:"We seem to be a little...depressed over losing that fight."
Jane:"Guys, we managed to escape with our lives. We can't win them all sometimes."
Haiku:"True. Would've been good if we did, though."
Stacey:"We understand. We have been doing this for a while. You guys rest up, you'll need it."
Before giving Lily back to Lucy, Stacey could see that the little girl wasn't so happy to hear that Stacey was leaving. In the hopes of not making her feel so bad, Stacey gives Lily a last peck on the forehead...
Stacey:"I'll be back. Do not worry..."
And with that, she gives Lily back to Lucy. But before she could leave, she turns back to the four...
Stacey:"Don't try to do anything out here. If you hear any strange noises, head inside and barricade the door."
Persephone:"We understand."
Nodding, Stacey and the others begin to walk away. Lucy could see that Lily was still a bit sad, reaching out to Stacey. She holds her little sister close in the hopes of comforting her and calming her down...
Lucy:"They'll be fine, Lily."
Haiku:"Now what?"
Lucy:"It's been a long, crazy day."
Persephone:"I honestly didn't think we'd be fighting monsters."
Lucy:"...Stuff happens."
Haiku:"Still, do we keep at it? Or do we ditch these people and just head home?"
Persephone:"When did you start sounding so selfish?"
Haiku:"...I don't know about you too, buy I am not ready to die."
Lucy:"...We're not going to die."
Haiku:"How can we be so sure?"
Lucy:"...Faith."
Persephone:"(smooths out her dress) And besides, my mother doesn't come to pick us up in a few days."
Haiku:"You can still phone her, right?"
Persephone:"Well, yes. But, I need to top up my minutes."
Haiku:"...What does that mean?"
Lucy:"Her phone is prepaid."
Haiku:"Seriously?"
Persephone:"My dad always says that those contracts are rip-offs."
Haiku turns to Lucy...
Lucy:"...I left mine at home."
Haiku:"Again?"
Lucy:"Yep."
Haiku:"Alright...I guess we're staying."
Lucy:"If only there was some way to fight back against that monster."
Haiku:"Oh, Lucy. We're just kids. We didn't really know what we getting into until it was too late
Persephone:"It's not like we had much a chance anyway. We were lucky enough to survive."
Lucy:"I'm just wishing that there was some way for us to get stronger."
It was then that Lucy felt something. Almost like something calling out to her. Turning her head, she saw something glowing in the distance, not too far from the fort. It was red and glowing bright, and it had mostly caught Lucy's attention. Deciding to see what it was, Lucy had sat Lily down, got up from where she was at and began to walk over to it...
Haiku:"Lucy?"
Persephone:"Where are you going?"
Ignoring her friends, Lucy continued to move forward to the glowing object. The other two had finally noticed it as well, and decided to have a look at what it is themselves. With Persephone picking up Lily, they begin to follow Lucy. Where the glow was coming from, it almost seemed to be getting farther away, as it had then begun to lead into a cave. An underground cave, at that, as Lucy was about to head down, before Persephone stopped her.
Persephone:"It feels like we shouldn't be here."
Haiku:"Yeah, something's definitely wrong, and that glow indicates so."
Lucy:"Still, this is something we have to do."
Haiku:"Do we really have to? Or do you just want to?"
Not answering, Lucy had stopped for a moment before continuing down the cave. The entrance was one slide down, and the red glow was ever brighter inside. As the girls had approached what enticing glow, it soon died down, revealing to have came from a necklace with a red ruby. It rested upon a rock, along side all other kinds of jewelry, each having a unique jewel of their own colors. As the girls had come closer, four of the jewels had begun to glow again. The next thing they knew, they were now wearing a necklace of their own. With each having a unique color, Haiku had Purple, Persephone had Green, Lily had Light Blue and Lucy had Red. The were caught off guard to see the jewels around their necks...
Lucy:"Whoa...what just happened?"
Persephone:"Could it have been...magic?"
Haiku:"That cannot be possible."
However, Haiku had felt as if her fingers were tingling. Looking down at her hands, she had noticed that tiny sparks of blue electricity were zapping at her finger tips...
Haiku:"What the-?"
Without warning, a bolt of blue lighting blasted from her hands, beginning to ricochet around the walls of the cave around them. The girls ducked down as the bolt continued to blast around before finally dying out. Now, they were even more bewildered than before...
Haiku:"Okay...NOW, what just happened?"
They didn't even have time to answer the question as suddenly, stalactites that had been shot by the lightning had begun to crumble and fall, with the girls right below them. Seeing this, Persephone raised her arms in attempt to shield her face, but something else unexpected happened. The next thing she knew, she was a few feet off the ground, with the the rocks floating around her as well...
Persephone:"Whoa! What is going-?"
It was then that she didn't stop rising off the ground, as her head hit the ceiling of the cave. This made her stop floating, same as the rock as she fell back to the ground. Lucy and Haiku dodged the falling depress as then checked on Persephone, who's hair bun become undone when fell down. It was spread across the ground, almost looking like it was flowing...
Lucy:"Persephone, are you okay?"
Persephone:"Ugh... I've been better."
Haiku:"I suddenly have lightning powers and you seem to be able to levitate, I'd say we've all been better."
Persephone:"Where are all these crazy powers coming from?"
Lucy:"Perhaps it could...the amulets?"
It came to her realization that Lucy no doubt had powers as well. And before her friends could question would she's doing, Lucy had begun to concentrate in order to see what kind of power she has.
Haiku:"Um...Lucy?"
The sound of squeeks and flapping wings filled the air of the car, as all of a sudden, thousands of bats had come from out of nowhere and began to circle around the girls. This had startled Lily, who now wanted to find a way out. It was enough to make her power activate, as she suddenly began warping from one place to another, wanting to get away from the bats. Seeing this, Persephone quickly picks up Lily before she could warp again and holds her close. Lily reacted to this by swatting at Persephone's undone hair, to which Persephone quickly grabbed hold of Lily's hands, squeezing them gently...
Persephone:"Stop that!"
She continued to hold the little one close, while Lucy now wanted for this to stop. She tried to concentrate again, in the hopes that the bats may calm down as well. Within minutes, did the scariness finally stop and the bats now hung at the ceiling of the cave while the four girls stayed where they were frozen in fear...
Lucy:"...Okay. Now, I think it's safe to ask...what the heck just happened."
Haiku:"Well, you said it yourself. These powers must be coming from the amulets."
Persephone:"If that's the case, why can't we just take them off?"
Lucy:"Sigh. Has it ever been that simple?"
Confused by what she mean, Persephone looked down at her amulet and then realized it might've been one of THOSE artifacts. The kind that don't go away so easily, as they are bonded to the user...
Haiku:"So then, what should we do about those?"
Pointing to where the amulets were first found, the girls saw that there were more of them scattered around the ground. Five in total...
Persephone:"We should just leave the be. Don't need anyone else getting stuck with crazy powers."
Lucy:"I highly doubt we can do that, Persephone. It doesn't seem to be a coincidence to me."
Haiku:"You're really suggesting that we take those with us?"
Lucy:"...Yes."
Persephone:"Well, I'm not going anywhere near those things."
Haiku:"Sorry, Lucy. But I'm with Persephone on this one."
As both girls turned to the exit of the cave, Lucy then decided to take this as her opportunity to take the amulets. Out of curiosity, she hid them well as she caught up to her friends.
Haiku:"What took you so long?"
Lucy:"It's only been 30 seconds."
Persephone:"Still. You shouldn't leave us worried like that."
Lucy:"Do not worry. I just need to pick something up."
At that moment, Haiku and Persephone suspected as much that Lucy had taken the . With both of them letting out sighs, they decided to go along with it. Returning to the camp site, they had arrived just in time, as Stacey's group already seemed to be coming back. Lucy counted themselves lucky that they made it before Stacey's group did.
Stacey:"Good to see you're all still okay. Anything happen while we were gone?"
Lucy:"Mmm, nothing worth noting right now."
Stacey:"Okay then."
Lucy's group took notice of Ken, who was eating some kind of chocolate cake cut in a rectangle with whip cream and a strawberry on top. By the look of his chocolate smothered face, they could tell it wasn't his first...
Haiku:"Where did Ken get the cake?"
Jane:"There was a bakery over at the town, and he insisted on getting something to eat before we came back."
Nigel:"So, we all bought a slice of cake for each of us..."
Persephone:"And?"
Georgia:"He ate all our slices before we even finished paying."
Jane:"And then, he threw up."
Stacey:"And nearly passed out...on top of me!"
(Flashback)
Ken:"(groaning) I don't feel so good."
Stacey:"For gosh's sake, Ken! You got a problem! Why did we bother going here?!"
(End of flashback)
Stacey:"`Which was enough for the manager to ask us to leave."
Ken:"Okay, in my defense...those cakes were so sweet, they were practically calling my name."
Without warning, Ken was knocked out cold by Georgia's incoming foot.
Georgia:"So's my foot."
Jane:"Hey, where did you guys get those necklaces?"
Persephone:"Well-"
Before she could say anything, Lily had warped away from her hands and then appeared in Stacey's, leaving her and the rest of her friends frozen in shock...
Stacey:"What the heck just happened?"
Persephone:"That's what we were trying to tell you. The gems in the amulets gave us... superpowers."
Nigel:"No freaking way."
Lucy:"We even found more."
Pulling out the other amulets, the began to glow brightly, soon flying towards Stacey's group, all except for Ken. Each gem had its own color, with Stacey having light purple, Jane having orange, Nigel having Orange and Georgia having black. Lucy'swas still holding one more, which she could guess was for Ken, but decides to hide it away...
Ken:"Hey, how come I don't get one?"
Lucy:"I don't think you're ready for it. And neither does the gemstone?"
Georgia:"What would you even do with a superpower?"
Stacey:"And what would it even be? More eating without getting fat?"
Ken:"Jerks."
Stacey:"How do these work?"
Haiku:"(shrugs) They came randomly for us."
It was then that Stacey felt a tingling sensation in her hand, and looked at it seeing it glow purple. Suddenly, a lasso like string of purple energy had sprouted from her hand and it began to freak Stacey out as she tried to shake it off her hand...
Stacey:"What the heck?!"
Haiku:"Hey, watch out!"
Nigel:"Stop waving thing around!"
Swinging her hand, the lasso was then heading straight towards Georgia, who did have enough time to get out of the way. Blocking her face with her arms, she felt the lasso wrap around them. Instead of feeling pain, she felt numbness, opening her eyes to seeing something else that was shocking. Her arms had become long block, metal sword blades, which seemed to be unaffected by the whip.
Georgia:"What the?"
Pulling the lasso back, Stacey saw as it retreated into her hand, forming into a glowing band around her wrist. She hadn't noticed yet, but the ends of her hair was also glowing with purple energy...
Ken:"Wow. That just happened."
Jane:"Yeah."
Nigel:"Uh...Jane?"
Jane:"Yeah? Wait...when did you get so tall?"
From her perspective, Nigel and everyone else seemed to now be taller than her.
Jane:"And why do my hands feel so...weird?"
Looking down at her hands, she saw that they had become paw, Fox paws. It was then that Persephone pulled out a pocket mirror...
Persephone:"You...might want to take a look at yourself."
Seeing her reflection, Jane had realized that had become a fox...and started running around, panicking...
Jane:"WHAT THE HECK? WHY AM I A FOX? WHAT IS GOING ON?!"
Nigel:"Sis, would you please calm down!"
Jane:"Sorry. This is all just so sudden."
Nigel:"Panicking isn't gonna make it any better."
Raising his hand, it was then that Nigel had noticed something happing. Similar to Stacey, red electric energy was beginning to flow through his hand before manifest into a long, red electric rapier-like sword. And unlike the the others, Nigel was actually enjoying this...
Nigel:"Whoa...okay, now that's cool!"
He began to try and swing it around, showing off what little skill he had with a sword. But, as he swung it again, a wave of energy came from the sword's edge and slashed a tree in half. It was enough to leave everyone frozen, and for Nigel to realize that this wasn't to play around with...
Nigel:"Okay...maybe we should avoid that for now on."
Ken:"Man, I still wish I could've gotten powers of my own!"
Jane:"Even of you did, you'd probably blow us all up!"
Ken:"You don't know what kind of power I would want!"
Georgia:"A fatty like you doesn't deserve any!"
Ken:"But there's still one more amulet! What's it gonna take?!"
Lucy:"Maybe if you were to prove yourself worthy, you could earn it."
Ken's"And how am I supposed to do that?"
Stacey:"Try being less ignorant."
Nigel:"Go easy on the snacks."
Jane:"Be a better person."
Georgia:"Lose some weight."
Ken hated to admit, but what they were saying sounded good enough as a start. He took it to heart, as the desire to prove himself worthy of power flowed through him...or was that just indigestion?
Ken:"Fine. Consider it done."
Georgia:"We'll consider it started. But we won't believe it till we see it."
Stacey:"Nevermind that for now. Where did these even come from?"
Lucy:"We found them in a cave not too far away from here."
Stacey:"You think you can lead us to this cave?"
Lucy:"Sigh. I'm not entirely sure where it was."
But it was then that Lucy's amulet began to glow and float. Then it began to float towards the direction of the woods, as if it were pointing the group to some place...
Lucy:"But... apparently, my amulet knows."
Ken:"Dude, that thing is possessed."
Georgia:"Shut up."
Haiku:"Come on, then."
And with that, they backtracked to the cave and head inside. It was there, that Stacey noticed something behind the spot where the girls had found the jewels. There was writing on the wall, giving out the name of someone, along with a date of birth...and death...
Stacey:"Guys, this isn't a cave...it's a tomb."
They all turned to see the writing. Stacey wiped it, revealed that the wall was actually where someone was buried. From the look of the writing, their name was "Midas Ambrosia", a Greek name. However, this person lived somewhere in the early 1600's and managed to make it to 1715. The group wondered how someone was able to live that long, but then their amulets began to glow. They then began to reveal more writing written on the floor, seeming to be some kind of message...
"To who may find my treasure, know that the power within links to your souls. They can be of great benefit or burden. Whichever direction you take is in your hands."
Stacey:"Well, that's not ominous at all."
