Kate had a plan in place, she was going to took some time off from her job. She knew that she had messed up badly with him back then. Kate is in her bedroom packing up her clothes for a long journey to visit her ex-husband Castle. Kate was also going to visit, some other places as well. Kate had to do some serious soul searching, not only was it a vacation for herself. But maybe it was time to took a hard look at her life and her choices that she had made. Kate is going into her shower she would be leaving first thing in the morning. She figured it was time; took some time not only for herself. She wants to understand, why she had made some of the decisions she had made back then. Rick may have a new family and friends, but she really needed to see him; so she could explain her actions back then. Kate knew that it might not turned out too good. But she really needed for him to forgive her. Kate wasn't sure, why she had needed his forgiveness. But looking back, she was at fault for most of the problems in their relationship. Remembering how everything used to be back then. Kate had woken up at 4:30 in the morning and she was putting her luggage inside her car. Kate was changing out of her pajamas. Kate had changed into a pair of jeans, shirt, sweater and a coat with her. Kate had her sunglasses on her forehead and she is starting to drive out of the city.
Kate just keeps driving, on the highway only stopping at gas stations and getting something to eat. She had to stop at a motel for the night. Kate was very well rested, she got back inside the car. She had stopped at a nature park, Kate had gotten out of her car. Kate is walking everywhere and looking around the area. Kate got herself a bottle of water, she is sitting down on a bench looking around at all of the families. Kate looks at all of the kids with their mommy and daddy. Kate remembered a time, when both her and Rick talked about having kids together. Kate had tears in her eyes, she was so closed to having a family of her own with Rick. That she was very stupid for blowing her chances at having a happy family. Kate could remember all of the things they had talked about their first child together. But now that dream was long over with, she could had a happy life. But no she chose justices over her own dreams. She got up from the bench and back inside her car. Kate couldn't stop the tears from falling from her eyes. Kate couldn't stop sobbing and letting out all of her pain into her hands. How could she have been so stupid, her moms murder case had been a bigger put of her life. That she had never, had time to let it go. She should have let her mom case be done and over with a long time ago.
She had find another hotel for the night, she is taking a long hot shower. Kate went out and got herself something to eat. Kate couldn't help, but look over at a young couple. She had remembered her time with the robbery detective. She couldn't believe how badly, she had treated Rick; she was such a bitch back then. She had bullied Rick, laughed at him behind his back and she had shove her relationship right in his face. Kate was told, if she hadn't stop what she was doing. She could have lost Castle forever, she had broken up with the robbery detective and before she could tell Castle that she had changed her mind about going away with him during the Labor day week. Gina had shown up at the precinct and both her and Rick had left together. But everyone had blamed Castle for leaving her heartbroken. When it was really all of her fault, for not spoken up earlier. Then when he had returned everyone had treated him like a disease, not like a team mate. She had even started another relationship. But she tossed that one in his face too. She really was a bad partner, friend, girlfriend and more importantly also a really bad wife. Then after the death of her captain, she had gotten shot right in front of everyone. Then after sending him away, her promise to call him. Had when unanswered in the last three months.
Then after she had gotten back, she had dragged him back down her rabbit hole all over again. Then she made him wait all over again. That was wrong, then he heard her say that she had remembered everything about her shooting that night. She had noticed him becoming more distant by the minute. Then after he had confronted her about, what he had been hiding from her that night. He told her; that he was done waiting for her after four years. Then after getting tosses from the roof, did she finally decided that she wanted him. Then after the whole thing with Eric Vaughn had happened, she shouldn't have let him get that close to her. Then she got another job offer and she took it. She had almost lost her relationship with Castle again. Then after getting back together, they had to deal with his disappearance when they were about ready to get married. Then she treated him like a suspect, then like a lost fiance. Then of course they got married, that should have been her time to be happy. But that stupid phone call had ruined her life. Why don't she just turned over the stranger to the police. But no Rick was almost killed, she could have told him what was going on. But, no once again she had screwed everything up in no time. Why hadn't she stopped herself that night. She could have been enjoying her time with her husband.
