So yeah. Three years. I wish I could say I have a good excuse but that would involve trying to one up Kakashi. The first year was honestly procrastination. The other two years came about after my last laptop's motherboard crashed and I finally got enough money together to get a new one. Now my mom wants to get a new motherboard to put into my other computer for her use. Hahaha! Well...Here is the next chapter. Special thanks to argonaut and all who stood with them, patiently waiting for me to get off my behind and get to writing again.

Trainer of Sorcery: New Beginnings and the Sorceror's Stone

Chapter 7: Training Daze Part 1

Cover music: When Forever Comes by Miracle of Sound

The next day dawned and the two boys slowly woke up to the sound of grunting. Their bleary eyes slowly focused on Omamori who was moving a bit clumsily through some sort of movements. 'Dad must have come through' Harry thought. He got up from the bed, Omamori stopping upon noticing the two moving about.

"Good morning Omamori." Harry said with a sigh as he stretched, "Dad came through?"

"Good morning Master Harry." Omamori responded, "Indeed. He implanted the knowledge into my mind last night."

"None of that master stuff Omamori." Harry said with a frown, "We are friends and fellow students. The four of us are still in the learning stage."

"Of course. Forgive me." Omamori said with a nod, "Oh yes. Lord Mewtwo had a message for you."

"Oh?" Harry blinked, "What is it?"

"He picked up another similar to you while in your world. For some reason, their abilities had been sealed away by their father. It led to his body becoming extremely uncoordinated and could have permanently damaged him."

"That is bad." Harry said with a frown, "Where is he now?"

"I believe that he will be journeying through the Hoenn region. Lord Groudon and Ladies Kyogre and Rayquaza have taken an interest in him."

Winston gaped at Omamori when he heard this. Harry meanwhile looked relieved, "Thank Arceus for that! I like those three well enough, but trying to survive that family dynamic isn't something I want to go through again."

Winston looked at him in confusion, "Family dynamic?"

"Rayquaza is basically a mother and big sister combo who has to keep the squabbling children that are Kyogre and Groudon from destroying the world due to their fights. Those two go at it almost all the time. And yet no matter how much they go at each other's throats, if one is threatened, the other is quick to help them. They aren't bad. I just can't handle that right now."

"Wow. I never expected to hear something like that in regards to the legendaries." Ariadne said from the doorway.

Harry looked back and saw Ariadne and Feline standing in the doorway. Ariadne was dressed in a black t-shirt with a sheer off white sweeper vest, grey capri pants and black boots. Her bandages were wrapped around her right eye and the edges of five crisscrossing scars peeked out from various positions. Her formerly chopped black brown hair had grown to around neck length. Feline was clad in a medium purple blouse with bell sleeves and beige slacks. A purple headband was holding back hair shoulder length auburn hair.

"We came to see if the two of you were ready to get some breakfast." Ariadne said, a smirk crossed her face as she put a hand on her hip, "We can wait until you're changed though."

Feline giggled as the two boys shook themselves and turned around, "C'mon Ariadne. Let them catch up."

The two girls walked out of the room and the boys followed a few minutes later. Harry was dressed in a navy blue two button shirt with one button undone, a pair of faded blue jeans, boots and a cloak with voluminous sleeves. Winston wore a steel grey shirt with a symbol of a sword sheathed within a shield, dark blue jeans and sneakers. Harry and winston made their way to the cafeteria serving area and quickly put their plates together. They joined the girls at the table they had chosen and dug in.

"So." Harry said, taking a bite of food, "What should we do today?"

"I want to take a look at the gym." Winston said, "After that, Omamori needs to do some training."

"Feline nodded, "Sounds good. Rakk and Buzzer need time to train too."

Harry was about to speak up when the television on the wall suddenly blared loudly.

"Attention! This is a special report regarding new gym regulations for the Hoenn region and possibly other regions as well." All conversations stopped as every eye locked onto the screen, "It has been found that the current gym leader of Rustboro city was conspiring with a cook in the Pokémon Center of said city to sabotage a young trainer who happened to be the daughter of a former Team Magma grunt! Thanks to the work of two newcomers, the league was able to discover this injustice. When asked how they discovered it, the two trainers had this to say.

Scene changes to two boys standing to either side of a girl dressed in a set of clothing reminiscent of a Magma grunt, though scaled down. One had fluffy chocolate colored hair and the other had a scowl and blonde hair.

"I had the chance to watch the two train yesterday." said the brown-haired one, "And I noticed that her Numel's strength was at odds to what it showed during the battle. I had my friend here take a look around the kitchen and he found sedatives primarily used for rampaging Tauros. We could not let this stand."

"Wao! The carnivore was being harassed by the herbivores. We gave her the chance to show them up." said the blond, making the girl smirk at the camera, obviously proud of her designation.

The patrons around the Pewter City Pokèmon center began muttering to each other. A few were miffed at the audacity of a magma grunt descendent trying to encroach where they shouldn't but all were honestly horrified that someone would deliberately sabotage a trainer. A few people left the building.

"Didn't expect to hear that today." Harry said, taking a sip from his Soda Pop.

"You can say that again." Winston said, letting out a sigh as he brought his fresh water down.

"Didn't expect to hear that today." Harry said, straight faced.

Winston glowered at him while the girls giggled at his expense, "Jerk." He faced the other two and swallowed his last sip of water, "Shall we go?" The girls nodded and the four of them stood up. They placed their empty trays into the cleaning area and made their way out.

"So where is the gym exactly?" Ariadne asked.

Harry frowned, "Give me a minute." He closed his eyes and focused. The world around him shifted into blueish white outlines with grey intermingled. He pushed his aura out and slowly made his way through the town. After a few moments, he opened his eyes, "Other end of Igneous Road. Turn left onto Gravel Hill Avenue. Halfway down the street."

The other three stared at him before Feline muttered, "I need to learn this aura stuff."

The four friends Made their way along the designated path. Belle popped out of her pokéball and began playfully running around the rea, though she never strayed too far from her partner. Omamori was walking at Winston's side while Rakk the spinarak was sitting on Feline's head. Ariadne couldn't help but feel a little sad and jealous at seeing them with a partner. Harry pulled her close in a one-armed hug and she smiled a little at the contact.

Ten minutes later the four of them stood in front of the pewter city gym. The first thing they all noticed were the trainers dressed in Karate Gis running around with hammers, nails and boards. A bit of scaffolding let them reach the hole in the top of the roof that looked vaguely human shaped. The young man they had met the day before was barking orders from where he was hammering away at the right side of the hole.

"Whoa!" Harry said, surprised, "What happened here?"

One of the trainers running around stopped, "Some guy came crashing through the roof yesterday. Said something about a wizard cosplayer."

Harry paled a little, "So no one is battling today?"

"Nope." said the trainer, "And even if there were, no one is allowed to watch the people that are going. The purpose of this gym is for the trainer to prove their trust in their partner by neither side knowing what to expect." The trainer continued to where he was to deliver the boards.

Feline nodded, "Expect the unexpected. I can respect that."

"I expect that you can." Winston said dryly. He promptly ended up with a poison sting to his behind. Thankfully, there was no poison.

"You asked for that one," Ariadne said with a smirk.

"Well," Harry said, "We better get to training. Where should we go?"

Ariadne paused, "I think...I just want to walk around the city for a while." She noticed the others looking at her and smiled, though she didn't quite feel it, "Don't worry! I'll be fine!" The three faltered a few more moments before they began to walk off. Each going a separate direction.

Ariadne sighed before she began walking. She didn't have a particular destination. In her wistfulness, she found herself nearing the poor section of town. It wasn't quite the slums of Castelia City, but it felt a bit like home. She checked her pockets and found about 1500 Pokédollars. She looked around and saw an old arcade. She stepped in and was immediately noticed by the rough crowd inside. She glanced over at them and then made her way over to the token counter.

She handed over 500 Pokédollars and received 50 tokens. She walked over to a nearby console that had a logo of a battle simulator with an open field. She put in two of the tokens and a screen came up with a list of all current pokemon available. She cringed when she came across the Garbodor and went back through the list. She wasn't particularly interested in winning and decided to go with Dratini.

She heard someone shuffle into place on the other side and soon received the notice of a new challenger approaching. Her opponent was using a hitmonchan. She made no face. She merely readied herself and when the battle began, she shot the Dratini forward. As the hitmonchan shot a punch forward, she jerked back the control, pulling the Dratini back just in time. She rushed forward with a body slam and sent the hitmonchan back a couple paces. She used this to her advantage and followed up with a quick Dragon breath. It hit and a paralysis effect hit the hitmonchan.

She heard cursing on the other side but didn't care. She slid around behind her opponent and then used wrap to grapple the opponent with the constricting body of her Dratini. She slowly increased the pressure and went so far as to wrap her tail around the fighting type's fist. As the paralysis faded, her tail pulled up and smacked the Hitmonchan with its' own fist. The cursing got a little louder and she went for a finisher, seeing the opponent low on health. She twisted and slammed the fighting type into the ground, launching Dratini into the air and, with a two second charge, sent a high-powered Dragon Breath down onto the Hitmonchan.

Her screen whited out and then the words 'You win!' appeared in front of her. She blinked in surprise. 'I won?' She looked around in surprise as loud cheering sounded out around her. The rough crowd that had been watching her when she entered were now clapping her on the shoulder. A girl of about fifteen years of age came over with a smirk on her face. She was wearing ripped up jeans and an aqua blue t-shirt that looked like they should have been replaced months ago. She was dark skinned with dark green hair and topaz eyes.

"Gotta say. I haven't seen somebody fight so well at something like this for years." The girl said, her arms crossed over her chest, "Usually they just slug it out. Not many actually use the characters to their fullest."

Ariadne was a little confused, "Umm...Thanks...?"

The girl laughed, "The name is Jackie. I over see this bunch to make sure they don't get too rowdy."

Ariadne nodded, "Nice to meet you Jackie. My name is Ariadne."

"So, where you from Ariadne?"

"Castelia City." She said quietly.

Everyone there looked at her in surprise and Jackie whistled, "That's a big city. Musta had a good teacher up there in the tops."

Ariadne shook her head, "No. Came from the slums. My dad taught me what he could when he wasn't too sick. He was a trainer for about twenty years, but ended up on hard times. He ended up dying a couple years ago and left me his Garbodor."

"A Garbodor? Awesome!" Jackie shouted, "Can we see it?!"

Ariadne cringed, "Unfortunately, during the tournament at Cameron, he became too injured to fight anymore." A look of anger crossed her face, "That piece of Wingull droppings Dark Butterfly decided to teach the trash not to rise above their station! As she put it."

There were growls all around the room. Jackie sighed, "That's a shame. Always liked poison types."

"Only cause your rather poisonous yourself." Someone shouted.

Jackie's eyes took on a dark glint, "You'll see tonight just how poisonous I am!" Whimpering came from the corner, "So what other pokémon do you have?"

Ariadne sighed, "Garbodor was my first and only. I haven't found another partner yet."

"Looking for a type in particular?"

"Not really."

Jackie nodded, "Then follow me."

Ariadne found herself hoisted up by the older girl, "Wait! The rest of my tokens!"

"Don't worry, they'll be here when you get back. No one here steals from anyone that comes here."

Ariadne found herself being led deeper into the what she was soon referred to as the Detritus Zone. They walked for a good twenty minutes before they came to a slightly rundown, but obviously well cared for store with a picture of a hatching egg on top. Jackie led the way, pushing the door open with one hand. The bell let out a broken toll and a soft voice called from the back to give them a minute.

Literally a minute later, a young woman of about twenty-five years of age came out of the back. She was wearing a purple shirt and pants ensemble that looked similar to what Harry would wear. In her arms, was an egg. It didn't look particularly special. It was quite plain looking.

The woman reached across the counter and held the egg out to Ariadne, "For you, Bride of the Sorcerer. Become strong, for he will need all the allies he can find. The Old One seeks to control him and make him a weapon to insure his own dominion. You will become the sleepless guard and he shall protect you from your own demons."

She then turned and walked back into the room she came from.

"Wait a second! Jackie called out, "What about payment?!"

"No payment shall be needed for this one." The woman said without looking back, "But she will need comrades when the time comes."

Jackie just stared in shock as the woman stepped into the back once more, "That was strange. She normally charges a pretty dollar for one of her eggs. And what was that about Bride of the Sorcerer?"

Ariadne frowned, "I have a feeling she was talking about Harry."

Jackie looked at her with a raised eyebrow.

"Harry has styled himself as the Trainer of Sorcery." Ariadne said as she turned and walked to the door, the egg held comfortably in her arms. She couldn't help but smile as a slight zap warmed her a bit, "I can't wait to meet my new partner!"

Jackie sighed and shook her head before a smile appeared on her face, "Well then! Want another go at the arcade? I want to face you myself!"

Ariadne smirked, "You're on! I'm gonna beat ya inta the ground!"

This chapter I wanted to focus on Ariadne. I thought that I had given her some new starters but as I went back through the story, I couldn't find the male and female nidorans that I had planned to give her. Now I have a new starter for her. Feel free to leave guesses. We'll see what she gets in four more chapters.

So long, so long, so long and thanks for the reviews!
