CHAPTER 7
"Show me your back." Davina said as she was already taking a look at the open wounds all over his body. He tried not to smile at her concerned look and demeanor and focused back to the situation.
"I saw a woman in her late twenties, maybe in her thirties. A witch, I would guess. OUCH-"
"Sorry." The brunette removed the last piece of glass on his left shoulder. "Will you be able to get her ?"
"Unfortunately, this wicked witch concealed her presence already." Davina sight. Things like happy moments never tend to last long in their world.
"Blond hair, brown eyes. This girl was wearing a jean jacket and green trousers. Horrible sense of style. Add that to her lame, failed attack and you can guess why she was this cranky this early in the afternoon." Kol said jokingly.
The little witch went again over the word written on the table. Was someone in the covent angry that Kol was back in her life ? Maybe. But that wasn't enough of a reason to attack the head of the alliance, knowing the consequences. Plus, Kol's description didn't match anyone she knew as a possible threat. The witches hated the Mikaelsons, but the peace that was put in place was very well thought through and weighed by each covent before it was accepted. Was it an outsider ? Possible, but why now ? She couldn't figure it out.
"Love ?" The Mikaelson repeated. He was starring in her eyes, trying to get her attention back. "We will find her, I promise. Let us just go for the moment before it gets too crowded." He took her right hand. Davina blushed as he intertwined his fingers with hers and all her worries went in the back of her head.
Kol cleared his throat. "Let's go."
It felt great, warm. It felt like home. Whatever this threat was would not separate them. Not now that they were back together. Kol was optimistic.
As they were walking back to Davina's place, still holding hands, the vampire stopped in his tracks. The road back was silent, and it typically was not, not with Kol Mikaelson. So the flustered young woman Davina is, was definitely stressed, if you could say.
"I know what we feel for each other, Darling but...You can trust me, you know." He rubbed his thumb gently on her palm. "And I trust you." He smiled, taking her other hand.
"I think we only need that right now, won't you agree-"
"I love you, Kol Mikaelson. I- I trust you, and I love you, Kol." She uttered with all the confidence she mustered up during the day.
His smile became wider. The beautiful vision of his flustered face made her mirror his smile. It was a sight she never thought to have again during her lifetime. As she was holding back her joyful tears, the dark-haired vampire proceeded, then, to hug her. Maybe there was a slight possibility of happiness for them ? They both wanted to believe so.
As he was putting back in its place everything he could, Lucas glanced over at the blond woman seated at one of his tables.
"When I told you they were here and you asked if you could come over, I wasn't saying "Yeah, of course you can come and blow up my ice cream shop !" What the hell !"
Ruth took a sip of water after she finished her last spoon of strawberry ice-cream. She kept staring at the broken piece of glass stained with blood on the table.
"Sorry about that. I didn't plan on attacking them right now but something about seeing them so happy pissed me off."
The young bartender put aside his broom. "So, what's next ?"
Ruth looked at him. "When is your next covent meeting again ? Every witch moving to a new town should at least be on time for their first roll call." The blond girl smirked.
"Alright. Well, don't stare at me like that and take a broom !" Lucas responded. "Look at this mess !"
