I recently mentioned that I was working on a new story, and this entire 'Chapter' is essentially an update and other info on that. If you're not interested in reading my new story, just ignore this (Not a new chapter for HP&GWL).
This stuff is also posted on my profile, but in case you haven't followed my profile, I'm putting it here too. Story is going to be called 'A King's Path'.
You might want to read all of this if you want to read A King's Path. There is some things that I'm going to explain below that won't actually be explained in the story until maybe half way through. (To be nice, I put all that stuff at the very end)

A King's Path (Harry Potter)
Summary: During his summer before Fourth Year, Harry discovers himself to be a Mage, a magical who can use wandless magic. Harry goes on, hiding his secret from others in an attempt to be more prepared for what is to come. He wishes to no longer be manipulated by Dumbledore and Voldemort, to be able to chose his own life. Harry returns to the Chamber of Secrets, hoping to find knowledge that can help him in his journey. He ends up finding much, much more . . .
- Harry & Fleur Pairing (Main Characters, story is essentially their journey. There will be no other characters nearly as important as them)
- Unlike my last fic, I want to make this as realistic as possible. There will be no OCs, or anything of such. Harry will not be overpowered, but he definitely will be powerful. I feel like anything with a godlike Harry just isn't fun to read. (That's not always true, but it is most of the time)
- Slight Weasley, AD & HG Bashing
- Starts in Harry's summer before Fourth Year, ends at End of Sixth Year
- No Lemons, although they will be implied (I'm not writing that, sorry)
- No time travel, too trippy (Harry will find a portrait of someone from the past, who will mentor him. He will not interreact or talk to anyone in the past. I feel like that is to unrealistic.)
First 70k words already written, I'll start posting soon. I want to make sure I don't bail on this story half way through or anything.
Something that was really important to me when working on this was that I actually finish, instead of bailing on it. As I mentioned in my profile, I bailed on my previous story because halfway through, I no longer enjoyed the general storyline of having a 'Wrong Character Who Lived'. You know how sometimes you really like something, and then like a week later, you just are like, nope? Yeah, that's more or less what I went through.
I also said in the previous update that I'd have some cool powers, maybe to do with lightning. But as I was writing, I realized that it might end up being like the whole 'Wrong Character Who Lived' thing with my previous story (I would like it at one point in time, and later I'd hate it.) I'm still at the point where I like it, but that's besides the point. Also, I realized that some of you guys might not like that as much, so I thought I'd stick to something that more people would end up liking. Hence, I have Harry as a mage.
Anyway, I'm already written about a seventh or so of the story. It doesn't sound like much, but considering that I plan on having the story be around 500k words, I feel like it's fairly decent. In case you haven't yet realized, it's going to be along fic.
And good news! I fixed my formatting and grammar stuff. A lot of people were annoyed with the way I formatted my previous story. That's fixed. I hope, anyway.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT STORY THAT WON'T BE EXPLAINED IN STORY (Or at the very least, not anytime soon):
- A witch or wizard in this story is a magical being that can do magic via spells and with a wand. The most powerful of witches and wizards (Merlin, the Founders, Dumbledore, Voldemort) will be capable of using wandless magic to a small degree, such as minor telekinesis or something on similarly small levels.
- A Mage is a witch or wizard who can use wandless magic. These people are still witches and wizards (they can do magic via spells and with a wand). However, they can also use magic without a wand, using their intent. The way it works is that they focus their intent on wanting something to happen, and if they have enough magical power to do it, it happens. Magic of this kind is also known as 'Mage Magic'.
- Harry Potter and Morgana (Morgan Le Fay) will be the only two known Mages in this story. Morgana will NOT be appearing in this story. However, the portrait that Harry discovers will have taught another student personally, back when this person was alive rather than a portrait. That student was Morgana. This is important because Mages are incredibly rare, with only six or seven ever having been recorded. The portrait will bring up Morgana occasionally, when teaching Harry about Mage Magic.
- A big part of this story will be Harry trying to realize what he is fighting for, or what he wants. His life has been torn to shreds or manipulated by incredibly powerful wizards (Dumbledore and Voldemort). Harry will want to no longer be a pawn of their metaphorical chess board. He wants to become the queen, as the queen is the most powerful piece on the board. He realizes that a queen's most important duty is to protect their king. Harry also realizes that this metaphorical king is what he is fighting to protect, and is therefore whatever is most important to him. The reason the story is named A King's Path is because this whole chess board metaphor is used throughout the story. (In case you haven't figures it out yet, Fleur will be the 'king'. But don't tell Harry, okay?)
- Dumbledore is manipulative, but his heart is in the right place. He is simply trying to do whatever will allow the largest number of people to survive the war. He's not a douchebag or anything, but he will put the 'Greater Good' before anything else, include Harry's wellbeing.

That's all the overly important stuff you might need to know. I want to have the first 150k - 200k words (Fourth Year) done before I start posting. In other words, I'll begin posting near the end of February, or March 1st. (March 1st at absolute latest).
If you have any ideas, P.M. me. Just know that most of the story has already been written. Like I said earlier, I want this to be realistic (a possible alternate storyline for the Harry Potter).
And no, I don't own Harry Potter.
