I released a total seven fanfic one-shots that will become full on fanfics. They're all on a poll on my profile. Check 'em out, vote on what you think should be the one that's continued first. They'll all be continued, but one will be the one that replaces this when it's done. Yeah, I know I've been saying this on all the chapters, but there are a total of two votes, and they're for Pandora and My Assassin Academia, and I really want to know what people want to be this fanfic's successor.
Also, some people might be excited, since this chapter will be answering all the questions that have been asked in this fanfic. Who and what is Hadet? Who and what is Shin? Who was that random lady? Why were the Brotherhood after Hadet? Why did they think that she could make them a god? Why did Hadet appear before Yuma that night? Answers, are just below.
Disclaimer: I don't own Assassination Classroom. Assassination Classroom is owned by Yusei Matsui and Shueisha.
"Meguchii!" Okano cried out as she and her group burst through the doors. Meg looked up at her friend before looking back at the doors of the medbay. Takebayashi was hard at work inside, working on the father and daughter pair.
Yuma was easy to help. The HC's doctor was an expert on what he does, and bullet wounds were something he's been dealing with for a while. Yuma only had to rest for a few days and he should be fine. Hadet was a different story. Their attentions were quickly caught by Takebayashi exiting the room. Meg was quick to stand up and hurried over.
"How are they?" she asked urgently. Takebayashi was caught slightly off guard from the sudden question and close up of Meg, but recomposed himself, pushing his glasses up his nose.
"Like I already said, Yuma just needs to rest. It was pretty dangerous, but I managed to fix him up nicely." Takebayashi said.
"Wait, you already patched up Mr Isogai? It only took us seven minutes to get here." Shin said.
"I'm very good at my job."
"What about Hadet? How is she?!" Meg demanded. Takebayashi looked at Meg through his lens.
"The cuts and puncture wounds are all minor. She should heal up nicely without much scarring. I gave her a healing drink that Okuda made. But there's something else."
"What do you mean?" Maehara asked in concern.
"You said a man was operating on her?"
"Yes… why?"
"Well, it seems like he forcibly fed her something. It's not poison, but a powerful drug that essentially shut her down." Takebayashi explained.
"Shut her down?" Meg bit her thumb. Takebayashi nodded.
"Her brain isn't allowing her to make any conscious actions. She won't be able to talk, hear, see, feel, taste, or think." he said. Meg gritted her teeth. Okano put a hand on her shoulder. Maehara looked down with an angry look. Shin put a hand on his face.
"Whatever that man did, he made sure that it would be hard to undo." Takebayashi explained.
"But can you do it?" Meg asked desperately. Takebayashi nodded, much to her relief.
"But it's going to be a long process. A few days. Luckily, one of Itona's machines should make it easy to remove it from her system." Takebayashi said.
"A few days? Are there any shorter options?" Shin asked. Takebayashi shook his head.
"Sorry, but no. The procedure I'm about to do is both the quickest, and safest." he said as he walked back into the med bay. Shin grimaced as he and Meg walked back to the lobby. Maehara and Okano followed, looking at them in concern. Hayami, having walked to the side and was waiting near the entrance, quickly stood straight and walked over to them. She looked them over and grimaced.
"Bad news?"
"No, but, well, she's going to need to be worked on for a few days." Meg said as she sat down. Hayami nodded as she sat down next to her. The rest of the group sat down as well. Maehara and Okano were sitting together and were looking a little depressed.
'We couldn't do anything. All we did was fight off a few goons. And even then.' Maehara passed a wary look at Shin. 'That kid did way more. A bit too much.'

"Do me a favor. Make this interesting." Rinka said. The robot reared back and threw a fist downwards. Rinka dodged easily and ran up the arm, blasting it in the head with a powerful shotgun blast. She grabbed the back of the head and began pulling it apart with a loud creaking. The robot spun at the waist, throwing her off. She landed on her feet, pointing her gun at it. The robot tried to attack again, only to miss as Rinka ducked under the swing. She fired at the robot's head several times. Maehara glanced back at her, but snapped back to attention as he blocked a kick and countered with a punch.
"Sorry, but I have a duty to uphold!" he said as he grabbed the grunt by the face and kicked him in the face. He flipped and kicked him again, sending him crumbling to the ground. He looked up to see several more grunts running towards him. He grunted and took a stance, Okano coming up to him and taking her stance.
"We're going to be here for a while." she said. Shin surprised them by dashing in front of them and attacking the grunts. He slammed his hand into one of their chests. The grunt choked up blood before kneeling down and falling on his face. The other grunts paled before looking up at Shin. The boy's usually sleepy and empathetic expression was now focused, and alert. He continued to attack, killing each of the grunts with single hits. Maehara and Okano watched in shock as they watched the slaughter.

'He kills way too easily. Both physically, and mentally.' Maehara sweated. Shin was rubbing his eyes sleepily and was clearly struggling to stay awake. Absolutely nothing like how he was in the warehouse.
"Shin." Meg said. The boy snapped to attention and looked at her.
"What is it?"
"Who are you? What are you? Who is Hadet? What is Hadet? Why did that man think he can become a god?" she asked. Shin sighed.
"Let me guess. You can't say." Maehara said. Shin looked at them from the corner of his eyes.
"No, I can't. But it's for the better. I prefer it if everyone heard this together. At the very least, you and Mr Isogai." he said to Meg. She frowned more and looked away.
"But you two might get your answers soon!" a tall woman said as she burst in through the doors. The adults shot to their feet, pulling out weapons and pointing them at her. She looked at them with an amused look, unfazed by the guns and knives pointed at her.
"Come now, put them down. There's no need." she laughed. Shin stood up and walked over to her.
"About time you came here mother." he grumbled. Meg, Maehara, and Okano gasped and stared at them in shock.
"Mo- mo- mo- mother?!" they yelled in shock. Rinka looked them over. Shin was pale skinned, with straight black hair, tired black eyes, and incredibly skinny. His 'mother' had pitch black hair, and blood red eyes, but they were wide awake. She looked cheerful but mischievous, a complete opposite of Shin's tired and apathetic look.
"My name is Areth! I am Hadet and Shin's mother!" Areth said cheerfully. Meg frowned at her calling herself Hadet's mother, but paused.
"Wait, you're her brother?" she asked Shin incredulously.
"Sort of. You already know we aren't human." he said.
"That's right! I created these two!" Areth said as she walked over to the medbay. Maehara hurried up to her and grabbed her shoulder.
"You can't go in theeEEERREE!" he yelped as he was suddenly off his feet. He dug his heels in and tried to pull her back, but was like he didn't even exist. Okano quickly hurried over and tried to help, but it was like Areth was walking through thin air. Chiba came out of the nearby door and spotted them. He frowned and called out Saiko and Shuujin. They extended over to her and wrapped around her. He gave a surprised grunt as he was pulled off his feet and dragged across the ground. He pushed himself up and tried to lift her up.
'Damn! It's like trying to lift a planet!' he cursed in his head. Areth stopped and looked over to him. She smiled mischievously before continuing to pull the three adults along. Meg and Rinka snapped out of their surprise of Chiba being easily overpowered and tried to help, but were just as helpless as she continued to walk to the medbay. Shin trailed behind them, a small glint of amusement in his eyes.
Yuma's eyes snapped open as the doors opened. He sat up slightly in the bed he was in. His eyes widened at the sight of Areth and the rescue group trying to hold her back. He pushed himself up, hissing as his bullet wounds opened up.
"Oh dear, don't push yourself." Areth cooed as she patted Yuma on the head. He grunted as a heavy weight pushed him on the bed. He stared up to her.
"Oshiro Amaterasu." he realized. She smiled back.
"My real name is Areth." she said. He pushed himself up carefully as Takebayashi came into the room, upset.
"Who are you? Why are you here?" he demanded as he began to redress Yuma's bandages. Areth smiled at him.
"You don't need to do that." she said. Takebayashi gave her an incredulous look.
"Do you not see him bleeding?" he demanded. Areth reached over to Yuma, putting a hand on his head. The bed creaked, Yuma's neck began to feel sore from the weight, yet he could tell she was only holding her hand on his head, not actually resting.
'Is her arm really that heavy?!' Suddenly, Yuma could feel his wound tingling. He looked down at his bandages and ripped them off. His bullet wounds were closed, with no scarring what-so ever. Takebayashi looked at this in shock. He turned to Areth with a suspicious look.
"How did you do that?" he questioned. Areth laughed before shooing the team out, pushing them all but Meg out of the room, ignoring their protests. She closed the door, turning around to see Meg standing near Yuma's bed, the two looking at her warily. She smiled at them as she took a seat. Or rather, she sat in the air and crossed her legs, staying in place while one foot held her up. Yuma and Meg looked at this in surprise.
"Here she is." Shin said as he walked in, Hadet cradled in his arms. Meg looked at him in shock as Shin walked over and gave Hadet to Areth. The older lady stroked Hadet on the forehead. Meg and Yuma shifted as she did. She noticed and laughed.
"I may be the person who made her, but you two are her mommy and daddy." she said. Hadet shifted and opened her eyes. Her wounds closed almost instantly. Yuma and Meg looked at this in shock. She looked at Areth before quickly squirming and falling down on her feet.
"Ms Areth? Why are you here?" she asked. Areth smiled and patted Hadet. Meg shifted again.
"I'm here to talk to your parents and tell them the truth." Areth said. Hadet lit up and turned her head side to side quickly, trying to find them. She turned and saw Yuma and Meg. Gasping in happiness, she scurried over to them, jumping onto the bed.
"Daddy! Mommy!" she cried, diving into Yuma's arms. Yuma hugged her tightly, quickly joined by Meg. The family hugged each other as Shin and Areth watched. Yuma stopped and looked at Areth.
"Thank you." he said. Areth smiled and nodded back. Hadet climbed up Yuma's torso and hugged him again. Yuma smiled back at his daughter and planted a kiss on her forehead.
"I'm glad you're safe." he said. Hadet smiled and rubbed her cheek against his. Meg pouted at the side and poked Hadet.
"What about me?" she whined teasingly. Hadet giggled and leapt into Meg's arms too, receiving another kiss on the forehead. Hadet sat in her lap, letting Meg and Yuma quickly start brushing her hair. As the two parents fussed over her, Areth and Shin watched from the side. Yuma finally turned back to them. He looked at Areth warily.
"...you said you were going to tell us the truth?" he said. Areth smiled and nodded.
"That's right. So sit comfortably." she said. Yuma and Meg sat at the ready. Hadet sat in Yuma's crossed legs, leaning back against him. Yuma brushed her hair absentmindedly as Meg sat on the bed next to him. Areth smiled and looked at them as she rested her head on her hands.
"...tell me, do you know how to spell my name in English?" she asked. Yuma and Meg blinked.
"Y-your name?" Yuma repeated.
"Uh, A-R-E-T-H?" Meg said. Areth nodded, still smiling.
"Now, what happens when you switch the vowels and move the R to the right?" she asked.
"To the right? Uh, E-A-R-" Yuma's eyes widened.
"Earth?!" Meg said, stunned, having reached the same conclusion. Areth made a ringing noise as she held up a peace sign.
"Hello! My name is Mother Earth!" she said cheerfully. Her hair rippled and became a lush green with deep blue, some white and brown sprinkled in. Her body became taller, and curvier. The two adults stared in shock. "Thanks for using electric cars and recycling by the way."
"Uh, uh, n-no problem…" Yuma and Meg said. Mother Earth smiled as she sat down in the air again.
"Now, a bit of explanation."
-Line Break-
Four point five billion years ago, the Earth was formed. As time went on, and the humans died, their souls became a part of me. And eventually, I gained my own consciousness from this, and began to walk around the Earth myself.
-Line Break-
"Wait, are you saying that there's no afterlife?!"
"No! There is, there is. Look at it this way. Souls are capsules, or the shells of the spirits. The soul is why you can feel emotions, and think thoughts. The spirits are the memories of the person. When a person dies, their souls deposit the emotions and mind into the spirit. They go into me, and their spirits go to the afterlife." Mother Earth quickly explained. Yuma and Meg made noises of understanding.
"But what does this have to do with Hadet and Shin?"
"Let me explain."
-Line break-
When I gained consciousness, I was greeted with other celestial beings. I was raised and taught by the previous Mother Earth. Us celestial beings do have our own lifespans. Some are shorter than most. The only celestial being that didn't die yet is the original God.
-Line Break-
"God is real?!"
"Yes, he is. And he isn't really happy with all the naysayers and false believers. Such annoying people. But back to the story."
-Line Break-
There have been a total of twenty Mother Earths, with me being the latest one. Five million years in the future is when I'll die. Fortunately, a new Mother Earth is born to be trained every five million years and live for ten million. I have yet to meet my successor, but it will happen. There are other celestial beings as well, and one of them is Hadet. She's the youngest, and weakest of the celestial beings.
-Line Break-
"Which celestial being is she?" Yuma asked. Mother Earth smiled.
"Before I tell you that, let me say this: Shin and Hadet are tied together." she said. Yuma and Meg looked at her in confusion.
"Tied together?" Yuma repeated. Hadet squirmed, making Yuma readjust his hold on her. Mother Earth nodded.
-Line Break-
The original Mother Earth saw that while the souls were being made into her consciousness, the spirits were still walking the Earth. They could do some things, but not a lot. And while they could see each other and the living, they couldn't talk or hear each other. So they were lonely. Their cries of loneliness broke her heart, and she wanted to help them. So, she reached out to her older siblings and their father, God, and God decided to open the gates of Heaven to accept them. But the humans, they broke their covenant and sinned, tainting their souls. If a tainted soul joins Heaven, the purity of the place is affected, and Heaven loses what makes it a paradise. The sins are like a poison, and Heaven is like a normal body. And the souls themselves didn't know how to get to heaven.
So, the original Mother Earth had an idea, and she got to work. She first created the Shinigami, or the Grim Reaper. The Grim Reaper's job was to collect the souls and purify them. If the person was a truly rotten person, they're souls became ruined entirely, and sent to what you call Hell. If they did enough good to balance out their sinful nature, they can be purified and are led to Heaven. But soon, we saw that the humans were living too long, some for several hundred years. That meant that they were sinning more and more, and more souls were being put in Hell than being led to Heaven. And while God had no problem creating Hell to punish those souls, he didn't like putting them there. He did love his creations after all.
-Line Break-
"Wait, I thought Mother Earth was the one who made humans?" Meg said. Mother Earth shook her head.
"Humans were originally from Heaven. When they sinned, they were put on Earth as punishment. On Earth, they were given a chance to redeem themselves. As Mother Earth, we're basically the babysitters of the humans and watch over them. As per their punishment, they had to gather and grow food themselves. But our job is to provide for them, giving them a chance to do this."
-Line Break-
In order to fix this problem, the first Mother Earth created a new being. This being's job was to help the Grim Reaper. This new being will lead the souls to the path to Heaven and determine when a person dies, controlling how long they live and making sure they don't live too long and sin so much that they can't be redeemed while the Grim Reapers protect this new being and purify the spirits. That's why the max lifespan possible for a human is only 120 years, instead of several centuries.
-Line Break-
"Wait… do you mean to say…" Yuma trailed off. Hadet and Shin looked at him and Meg in slight concern.
"That's right. The Grim Reaper is often the one associated with death, but in actuality, the two are very different. Shin may be the Grim Reaper, but Hadet is actual Death." Mother Earth said. Yuma and Meg stared at her, dumbfounded. They were completely silent.
"...Is that why the Brotherhood came after her? Because they wanted to become the ones who control death?" Yuma said. Mother Earth nodded.
"That's right. The reason why they knew about her in the first place is because that man, Konya? His ancestor was chosen to care for her predecessor, like you, but when she found out what he was, she tried to claim his power to become a ruler of the world. She didn't know that the power wasn't something in his DNA, or body. But rather, the power made up his very essence. Meaning it was impossible for that to happen." Mother Earth said, no longer smiling but instead frowning at the thought of the despicable woman. Yuma looked down at Hadet.
'If that's true, unless Konya was told, he would continue hurting Hadet until he found what he wanted.' Yuma realized.
'Thankfully, we managed to retrieve Hadet.' Meg thought.
"Fortunately, it seems like while Agnus was tasked with finding the power, he didn't actually know what he was looking for. And Konya was disintegrated by Ryunosuke." Mother Earth said. Yuma and Meg sweatdropped at the news of what happened to Konya.
'Well, now we know what happened to him.' Yuma thought.
'Chiba, you're killing too easily.' Meg thought. Yuma snapped back to attention as he looked up.
"But why did she appear before me? Why are the Deaths being left with humans?" he asked.
"Do you know the Punic Wars of 264 BC?" Mother Earth asked. Yuma and Meg tensed. She looked at them seriously.
"The Death in charge then became drunk with power. She wiped them out with the war by manipulating their minds and making them extra bloodthirsty, simply because that was what she felt like doing then." she explained.
"What?!" Yuma looked at her in shock.
"Just because she wanted to?" Meg repeated.
"Yes. And she wasn't the only one. And while not all of the major death tolls are because of this, there were too many Deaths that were too egotistical. So we decided on something. The reason why they felt like that was because all they knew was killing and being powerful. So we seek out worthy guardians and have them raise the new Deaths, teaching them what's good and what's bad. While this isn't perfect, we did find that the new Deaths tended to be better people. But the ones that failed, their parents having become bitter people from unfortunate circumstances, they were just as bloodthirsty as the one from before, and even killed their parents." Mother Earth said. Yuma and Meg's eyes widened.
"Now, do you understand?" she asked. The parents nodded, still stunned. Mother Earth smiled and stood up.
"Excellent." she motioned for Hadet. She nodded and walked over to her, surprising the two.
"Hadet?"
"You two don't have to worry about her anymore. I'm sure that she knows plenty now." Mother Earth said. Yuma and Meg sprung to their feet.
"What do you mean? It's only been a few months!" Yuma protested.
"You don't want her anymore, right? You know that she could kill you guys if you guys make any mistake. Might as well have a bomb living with you." Shin said. Hadet looked down.
"Who the hell do you think we are?!" Yuma yelled as he grabbed the bed and flipped it, surprising the three celestial beings.
"Do you really think we care about dying? She's our daughter!"
"But don't you care if she has the potential to kill you easily?" Mother Earth asked. Hadet began smiling.
"Let me put it to you this way. I don't care if she's the personification of Death. I don't care if she was the personification of you. I don't care if she was the personification of Hell! I don't care if you tell us to give her up, I don't care if the galaxy told us to give her up, I don't care if the universe told us to give her up, I don't care if the devil told us to give her up! She's my little girl!" Yuma yelled. The three celestial beings looked at them, Shin's expression never changing and Hadet's happy.
"...what did I say? They would never give her up, even if you tried to threaten them. This was pointless and a waste of time." Shin yawned. Mother Earth laughed, surprising them.
"I'm sorry! I didn't mean to offend you. This was a test." she explained. Yuma and Meg blinked as Hadet ran up to Yuma and hugged him around the legs.
"A test?"
"There are some Deaths that were tossed out or mistreated after they were revealed. So I decided that I would test each family, and if they failed, I would take the Death, wipe their memory of the family, and give them to a better family. I have to admit, you two are the only pair that accepted the Death while being the first choice. I suppose we chose well." Mother Earth smiled. Yuma and Meg blinked before smiling. Yuma picked up Hadet. He and Meg gave her a kiss on her cheeks, making her giggle.
"There's another reason why we give the Deaths out." Mother Earth said. The two parents looked at her. "Each Death lives for about three hundred years. It's a pretty lonely, and drab life. So, we give them out with the hope of letting them make good memories. Make sure to make lot's, okay?" she said with a tilted head and a smile. Yuma and Meg smirked.
"Like you have to ask." they said in unison. Hadet smiled and snuggled against Yuma. It had only been a day or so, but she was home. Right where she belonged.
I gotta say, I have been waiting so long to reveal this. I wonder what all of you think of this? Be sure to let me know. After this will be four chapters just going over what happens next, with the last chapter being the epilogue. Hopefully, they're enjoyable. And again, please go check out my other one-shots, and vote on the poll, as the winner will be the one that replaces this. As per the usual, leave a review! Azure out!
