RWBY: Titan Shifters

After seemingly being killed, Chris is transported to another world by an unatural phenomenon called "The Breach" and is given the power to turn into a Titan. Armed with the knowledge of this world, Chris has to face threats from both Human, Grimm, and Titans alike...what could go wrong? A lot apparently.

15. Mother's Quarrel

Beacon Academy, Team RWBY Dorm (3rd Person POV)

Currently the members of Team RWBY were finished with classes for the day, meaning that they had the rest of the afternoon for themselves. Most of them were doing something productive, as for Ruby herself...she was...pondering

Ruby sighed

"Is something the matter, Ruby?" Weiss asked

"Is something bothering you?" Blake asked

.

"I think I might...dye my hair red" Ruby said

As she said that, Blake and Weiss got confused looks. Yang on the other hand...looked mortified

"Why?" Weiss asked

"Where did this come from?" Blake asked

"...I dunno" Ruby said

"There has to be a reason...Right, Yang?" Blake asked, but as she turned around, she saw Yang cradling in the corner of their dorm

"We've lost her..." Yang muttered "She's entered her rebellious phase..."

'Not you too...' Blake thought as she walked towards her teammate and crouched down beside her "Don't worry, Yang. I'm sure it's one of those adolescent things...like wanting to be defiant?" Blake said

Yang shot up "You're right! It's just a phase. We all go through that!" Yang said, as she turned towards her teammate "But Blake...you're still in your rebellious phase"

Blake crouched down and picked out a book "I'm sure I have no idea what you're talking about"

"What-?! But-!?" Yang sputtered

"Cool it, you two!" Weiss shouted, as she drove her Myrtenaster into the floor, and used ice dust to cool everyone off

"Now...back to...Ruby" Yang said in between shivers "What's wrong?"

'Well...I'm the only one of us...whose name and hair colour...don't match!" Ruby said

"...What?" _WBY said in unison

Weiss is White. Yang is yellow. And Blake is Black" Ruby explained "AND HERE I AM, THE TEAM LEADER...THERE'S NO SENSE OF UNIFORMITY!"

"That's...it...?" _WBY said in unison

"Look at us! We're team RWBY!" Ruby said "I mean c'mon! The first time I met Professor Ozpin!

(Flashback)

"Ruby Rose, you have...silver eyes" Ozpin said

Beacon Academy, Team RWBY Dorm

"My name screams red! He may as well have told me to change my name to Mercury Peppers!" Ruby shouted

'The persecutory delusions of an adolescent are scary...' _WBY thought in unison

"So...you think you should dye your hair red to match our team name?" Yang asked "And that will somehow boost morale...is that it?"

"I understand wanting uniformity to strengthen solidarity" Blake said "It's exactly why the White Fang uses its masks"

"But isn't it more important to appreciate...one's individuality than to forsake it?" weiss asked

Ruby slid down the wall "You got me. That's good advice" She said as she rubbed the back of her head "Sorry, guys. I was grasping at straws trying to find a way to unify the team"

"It's okay. You always focus on the superficial things. But even is so...PFFT!" Blake stopped herself as Blak, Weiss, and Yang bursted out in laughter

"Your solution was so middle school!" _WBY said in between laughs

"I was dead serious!" Ruby shouted

After a few moments, all three of them stopped laughing. Yang got up and walked over to her sister "You had me worried there"

"Sorry..." Ruby apologized

Yang smirked as she started to ruffle Ruby's hair "Now, now. You look best with black hari! Be proud of it!"

"Heh heh...I will..." Ruby said

"Besides, if you want uniformity, we should all look the same" Weiss said

"Right!" Ruby said as she zoomed over to a desk and swiped Weiss's credit card "I have a great idea! I need to borrow your credit card!"

"Wait!" Weiss shouted, but Ruby was already gone

Beacon Tower (3rd Person POV)

"Can we just have one day!? One day without being called up to Ozpin's office!?" Jeffery complained

Team CJA_ were currently walking towards Beacon Tower where Ozpin was waiting for them. It might be something monster related, or it might be something else entirely. Two three shifters walked in the elevator, pressed a small button at the top as the doors closed and ascended

Chris sighed "Well, complaining about it won't help"

"I know. But it's close to the weekend" Jeffery said

"What has you do eager all of a sudden?" Chris asked

"It's almost the last day of classes" Jeffery stated

Alice's eyes widened "It's the end of the first semester already?!"

Chris took out his scroll and looked at his timetable "Seems so, classes end in a few weeks" He said as he put his scroll away "Maybe Ozpin needs to tell us something before classes are over"

Then there was a small ding, indicating that they reached the top of the tower. The doors opened, revealing Ozpin at his desk

The three stepped out of the elevator and stopped in the middle of the room

"Hey Oz, did you need something from us?" Chris asked

"As you already know by the start of the second semester, the Atlas military will be providing...support for the kingdom of Vale" Ozpin said

"I didn't like it how you paused before saying support" Jeffery said

"My...colleague is known to be...brazen" Ozpin said

"That isn't a good sign" Jeffery said

"It isn't, but I can assure you that his heart is in the right place" Ozpin said

"Anyways, Ozpin...did you call us up here to tell us this or is something else going on?" Chris asked

"Yes" Ozpin said "I would like you three to take care of a few things before he arrives. Just so that way there aren't any...distractions" He said as he sent a file to their scrolls

"To clear the board before the next game starts, right?" Chris asked, as he pulled out his scroll

"Precisely" Ozpin said "A research facility In northern Anima has reached out to us for assistance"

"What kind of assistance?" Chris asked

Ozpin's response was to push a button, causing a small hologram appearing in the middle of the room

Jeffery leaned over to Chris "I'm getting Star Wars vibes here"

"Uh testing, one, two, three, yes! Well, uh, this v-video was recorded by the Mistral military, cameras located through out the northern coastlines of Argus"

Jeffery cocked an eyebrow "Argus? Where's that located?"

"I think it's in Northern Anima" Chris said "Right, Alice?"

Alice nodded

"Aren't you suppose to know this stuff?" Jeffery asked

"I only know so much, now shhhhh!" Chris said

The scientist moved out of the way to see a massive, blurry figure move in front of the camera. Whatever it was, it was big and long, probably a few miles wide

"But as you can see..." He said as he looked back towards the screen "...or can't see. The cameras will only be able to catch snip-its of the creature that compromised our facility"

Jeffery laughed "At least they could've hired a better actor! This guy is embarrassing"

"What do you mean?" Chris asked

Jeffery leaned in a bit closer "Is that thing...made out of rubber?" He laughed once more "I've seen cheap rubber suits back when I was little, but this takes the cake!"

Chris leaned in closer "I don't know, it's to blurry to tell. Maybe the creature is-"

Jeffery cut him off "Chris, please! This is a publicity stunt! Any mention of a Bigfoot will cause thousands to come over to hopefully catch a glimpse. It's a scam! Remember back in southern Vale! Someone made a life size monster out of wood!"

"No what I mean is this!" Chris said as he pointed at the screen "That right there! That could be a dorsal fin, I think we should check this out. It wouldn't be the first time where myth turned out to be fact..." Chris trailed off

Jeffery's eye widened slightly before down-casting "I...guess you're right"

All three shifters turned back towards the screen to see the massive, blurry figure appeared in the camera once more, this time facing it...before swimming towards it, this time more clearly than before and bit the camera off, leaving nothing but static on the screen, casuing all three of them to jump

"You...saw that too...right?" Alice asked

"Yep" Chris said

"Okay...I believe you" Jeffery said

"And that is just one of the thing you have to do" Ozpin said

"One of what now?" Jeffery asked

"The huntsman of Lower Carin have reported seen giant flying insects, plucking any farm animal or any unfortunate soul in their way" Ozpin said

"Please don't let it be spiders, please don't let it be spiders, please don't let it be spiders" Jeffery prayed under his breath

"Uh...spiders don't fly" Chris said

"Clearly you've never been to Australia" Jeffery said

"What's Australia?" Alice asked

"It's nothing, just a small location I visited" Jeffery played off

"Anyways, is this all?" Chris asked

"Yes" Ozpin said " But Mr-"

Chris cut him off "Professor, I already told you I don't use my last name"

"...Very well" Ozpin said "I've already booked one night at each location for you three to stay in. You are excused"

The three shifters nodded as they walked back towards the elevator. As the doors closed, the three shifters were silent, that is until Alice broke the silence

"Why don't you use your last name?" Alice asked

"That's...a topic I'm not comfortable talking about" Chris said

"But...we promised if there was something wrong, we would take about it" Alice said

The elevator then made a slight ding, implying that they made it back to the courtyard, Chris walked out first but suddenly stopped

Chris sighed "It's because it reminds me of him"

"Who?" Alice asked

"My dad" Chris said, before walking off "I need to get something before we head off"

"I guess they didn't have good relationship" Alice said

"They didn't have one" Jeffery said

Alice turned her head around "What do you mean?"

"His dad bailed on him and his mom when he was young. He never got to know the bastard" Jeffery said

"Why?" Alice asked

Jeffery shrugged "He doesn't know. Anyways, we should probably wait for him in the courtyard" He said as he started to walk...that is until a red blur flew past him

"What the fuck was that!?" Jeffery shouted

Team RWBY Dorm (3rd Person POV)

The door suddenly flew open

"I'm back!" Ruby shouted

Weiss summoned a glyph to protect herself "Already...?! Watch it!"

Ruby smirked "Individuality is important. But so is uniformity! So, after taking all your ideas in consideration..." She trailed off as she took something out of the bag.

After a few moments, Ruby, Blake, and Yang were now wearing...super suits

Yangs suit was composed of light colours like orange and yellow. And had "x-ray" style glasses. as well as black mini shorts. And had the letter "Y" as her emblem

Rubys outfit was composed of darks colours like red and black, while still retaining her signature hood. And wore grey mini shorts along with black styled leggings. And had the letter "R" as her emblem

Blakes uniform was composed of dark colours such as purple and black. With her uniform had white mini shorts and boots with black leggings. And had the letter "B" as her emblem

"I got us super suits!" Ruby cheered, as R_BY struck a banzai pose

"BANZAI!" R_BY shouted in unison

"Argh! Why do I put up to this?!" Weiss asked

But being the good friend she is, she still wore one

(Timeskip) Courtyard

After receiving the latest update from Ozpin, the three shifters began walking towards the courtyard where two bullheads were coming to pick them up. Chris and Alice were taking the Bullhead towards Northern Anima, where they have a hotel booked in the city of Argus

As for Jeffery, he regrettably decided to take the Bullhead towards Lower Cairn where he would be staying.

"Do you mind explaining why I had to get the giant bug one?" Jeffery asked

Chris sighed "Because I can fight in the water, while you can just incinerate those giant bugs"

As Chris explained to Jeffery why he had to go to Lower Cairn, Alice could only look towards te ground in a slight sad manner, which didn't go unnoticed by her teammates

"Something wrong?" Jeffery asked

Alice's head shot up "Oh...it's nothing" She said a forced smile

But before the two could ask once more, they were cut off by the sound of a familiar voice "HEY GUYS!"

The three shifters whipped their heads around to see...Team RWBY in superhero outfits. With Weiss slowly trailing behind her.

Weiss's uniform was composed of light colours such as white and blue . With her uniform had white mini shorts and boots with blue leggings. And had the letter "W" as her emblem

"Pfff...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Chris, Alice and Jeffery laughed

"What's so funny?!" Ruby asked

"I'm...I'm so sorry!" Chris apologized in between laughs

"It's just...you all look so-" Jeffery said in between laughs

"Ridiculous?" Weiss asked

"That is one of the many words I can muster" Jeffery said

After a few minutes of chuckling the three shifters started to calm down, and regain themselves

"Anyways, what are you doing here?" Ruby asked

"Well, I'm going to Lower Cairn to clear out an infestation of giant bugs" Jeffery said, then turned towards and Chris "While these two are leaving me to go to the coastlines of Animal"

"Anima" Chris corrected

Ruby immediately zoomed up to the three of them, stars in her eyes "Canwecometoo!?"

"Uh...what?" Jeffery asked

"She says can we come too" Yang said

"Ah" Jeffery said

"I mean...sure. I guess I can count this as...extra work" Chris said

"We have to work!? Ugh!" Ruby complained "Wait...then who's going with Jeffery?"

"No one I guess" Chris said "We really need a fourth member"

"How about we invite JNPR?" Ruby suggested

"I guess we could also invite JNPR" Jeffery said

"Yeah, you could use the company" Chris said "Can one of you go get them? The Bullhead could be here any minute"

"And change out of those uniforms, it looks like you're going to a cheap costume party" Jeffery added

"Got it!" Ruby said as she used her semblance and sped off, leaving a trail of rose petals behind her

"Does...she do this often?" Jeffery asked

"Yes" _WBY, Chris and Alice said

Just a few seconds later, a red blur shot out of Beacon's door and stopped in front of the hunters in training

"They're coming!" Ruby cheered

"That didn't take long at all" Weiss muttered

"Oh, and I got ourselves something for the trip...Tada!" Ruby shouted as she pulled out a plate of cookies from behind her back And started handing them out to the others

"Thanks, Ruby" Chris said "These are really good"

"Better than Weiss's cookies that's for sure" Yang said

"Can we not talk about that!?" Weiss shouted

"Talk about what?" Chris asked

"Oh, on Weiss attempt to bake cookies" Yang said

"You can bake!?" Jeffery asked in a shocked tone

Yang laughed nervously "Well...not cooking...more like...forging"

(Flashback) Beacon Academy (3rd Person POV)

Weiss was seen in the kitchen in an apron

"I'm surprised to see you in the kitchen" Ruby said

"Whatcha making, Weiss?" Yang asked

"I'm baking cookies" Weiss said "I thought it might be nice if I cooked occasionally"

"Can you even bake...?" Ruby asked "You said than you've never been in a kitchen before"

Weiss scoffed "Hmph...anyone can bake cookies. Anyway, Ruby, Yang..." Weiss trailed off as she spun towards them "FROM THIS MOMENT ON, THIS KITCHEN IS MY CASTLE! THEREFORE I FORBID YOU TO ENTER!"

Yang and Ruby were currently shaking in the corner "I'm scared..."

"Actually, you're not that great at baking cookies either" Yang said

"...Shut up" Ruby said

(Timeskip)

The oven made a slight ding sound, implying that Weiss's cookies were done and took them out

"So...this is what you baked?" Yang asked

"Yes! Chocolate chip cookies!" Weiss said

"They look...normal!" Ruby said in surprise

"What's that suppose to mean Ruby?" Weiss asked "Anyways...go on, try them"

"Y-Yeah...let's eat..." Ruby said as Blake and Yang also took a cookie. But as Yang took a bite...she held her mouth as she dropped her cookie

"WHAT THE?! I-IT'S SO HARD! WHAT IS THIS METAL!?" Yang shouted, covering her mouth in pain

"YANG!? YOU OKAY!?" Ruby shouted with a mortified look, Blake having a similar look as well

"Did you try them first Weiss?" Blake asked

"No. Why would I?" Weiss asked

"TO AVOID SITUATIONS LIKE THIS!" Yang shouted, but them calmed down "Ruby, you okay? You'll chip your teeth"

Ruby stared at Weiss's "cookie", her eyes widened at an idea "Wait...I have an idea"

(Timeskip) Downtown Vale

"Heh...so this is tonight's target, huh? Looks like it'll be an easy job" Roman said

"HOLD IT RIGHT THERE, ROMAN TORCHWICK!" A voice shouted

"That voice...don't you get tired of chasing me around...little red?" Roman asked as he turned to face Team RWBY

"That's all about to end, Roman" Ruby declared "TONIGHT WE'RE USING TEAM RWBY'S NEW ATTACK! READY GUYS?!"

"YES!" Blake shouted

"LET'S DO IT!" Yang shouted

"Huh?...What new attack?" Weiss asked

"THE WEISS ATTACK!" Ruby shouted...as she threw cookies at Roman

"Huh? Cookies...?" Roman questioned "What could a cookie possibly-" Roman tried to say...but was cut off when a cookie That Ruby threw made a small crater in the wall with a series of cracks. Roman's cigar fell out of his mouth in shock as he stared at the cookie

"BOSS!" A grunt shouted, getting Roman's attention "THEIR WEAPONS...I THINK THEY'RE NINJA STARS!"

"WHAT...?! NINJA STARS...?!" Roman shouted "THEY'RE THROWING NINJA STARS! RUN!"

"FALL BACK!" Another one shouted as they ran

"THEY'RE NORMAL COOKIES! TAKE A BITE!" Weiss shouted

(Present Day)

As Yang finished her story, Jeffery, Chris and Alice stared wide eyed at Weiss

"Instead of cookies...you made...a hockey puck?" Chris questioned

"What's a hockey puck?" Ruby asked

"Who knew you could make cookies as hard as ice" Jeffery said, cutting Ruby off and causing R_BY to laugh

.

"...Shut up" Weiss said

But before Chris could respond, he felt his scroll rumble. He took it out of his pocket...and his heart slightly sank

"Hello...?" Chris asked nervously

"Hello, Chris" Ozpin said

"Hey...Professor" Chris said nervously

As he said that, both teams started going pale.

Chris noticed and placed his hand on his scroll, to muffle his voice "It's Ozpin"

"That doesn't make it any better!" Ruby countered

"Better than Goodwitch I suppose" Chris said

"...True" Ruby said

"Stop talking he can hear us!" Weiss said

"He can't hear us" Chris said

"I can hear everything you're saying you know" Ozpin said

.

"...He can hear us" Chris said "S-So...why are you calling?"

"I called to ask why is Teams RWBY and JNPR gong with you on a dangerous mission such as this?"

Chris laughed nervously "What are you talking about? It's just me, Jeffery, and Alice"

"I can see you from my office window"

"Oh...well...it's more of...a...training...expertise" Chris said nervously "Are you...against it?"

"No, I was just curious. Please stay safe and if possible, bring back a souvenir"

"I'll keep that in mind" Chris said as he hung up "I guess we're in the clear"

"That was...unexpected" Weiss said

"Hey he might be a Professor and a Huntsman, but he's probably the chillest guy I've ever met" Jeffery said

"Unlike you apparently" Chris muttered

"I heard that!" Jeffery shouted

(Timeskip) (3rd Person POV)

After a few more moments of waiting, Team JNPR arrived in full gear and now all three teams were currently standing in the courtyard as the Bullheads landed

Chris and Jeffery shook hands "I guess I'll see you later"

"Try not to burn everything down" Chris said

"Try not to explode" Jeffery said

.

"Asshole" Chris said

"Fagot" Jeffery said

The two shifters then shared a laugh before turning from another and walking to their respective aircrafts, where Team RWBY and Alice were waiting for Chris while Team JNPR were waiting for Jeffery

The two Bullheads then took off, their engines roaring throughout the courtyard

Chris who was staring outside of the window, saw Jeffery's Bullhead take off in the distance. He then turns to face the others "Alright guys, we're just there to find out what is causing thee attacks. So unfortunately, there's no sightseeing"

"Awwwww..." Ruby complained

"However..." Chris said "The facility is near the city of Argus, so if we get this done early, we may have enough time to explore"

"Yay!" Ruby cheered

"But as we touchdown, I need you four to head to the facility straight away and ask for full access of the facility" Chris said "Me and Alice will head towards the Hotel to check in, considering I had to put it on my card" Chris said as he stared at Alice, causing her to laugh nervously

"Anyways...with all of that outta the way...PREPARE TO MEET YOUR DOOM, RUBY ROSE!" Yang yelled

Ruby stood up "BRING IT ON, YANG XIAO LONG! YOU STAND NO CHANCE, FOR I HAVE BLAKE ON MY SIDE! WE SHALL MAKE YOU COWER IN FEAR WITH OUR UNRIVALLED TEAMWORK!"

Both Ruby and Yang looked back at Blake, expecting a dramatic monologue from her as well

"Huh?" Blake questioned

"You're supposed to be me up, Blake!" Ruby said "Come onnnnnnn!"

"Uh, that's right! I will, uh, bring forth ruin upon you and your entire...pride?" Blake said, finishing her monologue with a dramatic looking pose, Yang and Ruby glance at each other then back at Blake as a sweat drop appeared from behind the Cat Faunus' head, symbolizing her embarrassment

"No, no, no, no!" Yang and Ruby said in unison

Ruby zoomed up towards Blake "Where's your motivation?!"

"IT NEEDS MORE UMPH!" YAng said, punching her fists together

While the three are going back and forth, Chris, Alice and Weiss were sitting nearby, watching the scene unfold

"This is going to be a long trip" Chris said

"Agreed" Weiss said

Yang held Blake in a headlock, giving her a noogie while Ruby flew in from behind with a flying kick in an attempt to save her teammate

Lower Cairn

Lower Cairn is one of the many settlements in the Kingdom of Vale, and just like the city itself it has natural barriers in the forms of mountains, narrow passageways and various rocky terrains

Recenlty, the residents of Lower Cairn had reached out to various huntsman for help investigation the disappearance of crops and people. However witnesses report seeing a giant swarm of locusts, which sounds like something that came from the Bible itself

Lower Cairn (3rd Person POV)

The Bullhead's engines roared as it touched down in a small clearing near the city. As Jeffery and the others have been informed, the settlement is dealing with some sort of crisis. All they know is that crops and people are disappearing, and the only thing connecting them is a swarm of giant bugs

Maybe it's some sort of Grimm? Maybe a swarm of Lancers?

As the Bullheads doors opened, Nora, Ren, Pyrrha, and even ren were tired from the flight. Jaune on the other hand...was enthusiastic

"And that is all the one-liners I think we should incorporate into our fights!" Jaune proclaimed "So...what do you think?" He asked with a proud look

"I...suddenly miss...Chris'...puns" Jeffery muttered "...Never thought I'd say that"

Pyrrha turned around with a slightly forced smile "...Ooooh boy! You...are just so creative" She said, in a tired, yet not noticeable tone

Jeffery's eyes widened 'WHY THE HELL ARE YOU SO NICE?!'

"Thanks Pyrrha" Jaune said in a prod tone "If you want, I can get the other book of-"

Jeffery cut him off "Hey...Jaune?"

"Yes?" Jaune asked

"...How about we get this finished then we can hear more of your...creative words" Jeffery said

"Good idea!" Jaune said

(Jeffery POV)

I will never take my grandfathers stories for granted ever again

For pretty much the entire flight, Jaune has been telling us one liners he thinks his team should incorporate into fighting! And clearly, his teammates feels the same way do...even though they don't want to admit it

To simply put, his one-liners sound like Jeff Goldblum getting hate-fucked by a wood chipper...and that's putting it lightly

And we have to listen to a second book when were done...I'm soooooooooo looking forward to that!

(3rd Person POV)

After a small walk, the huntsman and huntresses-in-training made their way towards Lower Cairn. It was a well established village, and it has a population of over two-hundred

However, the settlement is away from the borders of Vale, meaning it's more vulnerable to attacks, rather from bandits, Grimm, or in this case, giant bugs

"So...what do we do?" Jaune asked

"To be honest...I don't know" Jeffery said "Maybe...we should start looking around? Ask questions?"

"I CALL THE RESTAURANT!" Nora shouted

"I don't think there's any need for that" A voice said from behind

The party whipped their heads behind them to see a middle-aged man with grey hair

"You must be the Hunters that Ozpin sent" The man said

"Yes sir. Jaune Arc" Jaune introduced

"Li Ren" Ren introduced

"Nora Valkyrie!" Nora introduced

"Jeffery...just Jeffery" Jeffery introduced

"Pyrrha Nikos" Pyrrha introduced

"It's nice to meet you, my daughter is a fan" the man said "She even hopes to become like you someday"

"Heh...like me...someday" Pyrrha said in a slight somber tone

Aaannnyyyyways!" Jeffery cut in "Do you mind explain what's going on? We were filled in briefly"

"Of course" The man said "Some of our neighbours have been disappearing, and our crops have been destroyed. Some are linking these causes to giant insects, but I've yet to see them"

"Did you find them?" Pyrrha asked

"No, but we did find some strange rocks" He said

"Uh...what kind of rocks?" Jeffery asked

"Up in the mountains" He said "I've been up there many times, I've never seen anything like this before"

"Do you think you can take us up there?" Pyrrha asked

"No need" He said "Turns out, a crew brought them into town"

.

.

"Someone...brought them...into town?" Jeffery asked

The man nodded "Yeah. They thought that they were clusters of energy dust. But the strange thing is, only half of the crew came back"

"Only half?" Jaune asked

"Yeah" The man said "We're launching another search party later this afternoon"

"How long has this been going for?" Ren asked

"Almost a week" The man said "And every time we come back, we actually end up with less people"

"It's that bad!?" Jeffery asked

"Huh...do you mind if we take a look at these...rocks?" Jeffery asked

The man cocked an eyebrow "What for?"

"What for?" He asked

"Just to confirm a suspicion" Jeffery said

"It's just near the middle of the square" The man said as he lead Team JNPR and Jeffery towards the centre of town

Pyrrha caught up with Jeffery "Is...something on your mind?"

Argus Coastline

The City of Argus is a port city in the northern regions of the Kingdom of Mistral, not only does it act as the major trading centre between the centre of Anima and Solitas, but it's also oe of the largest non-captial cities on the face of Remnant

The southern edge of Argus is bordered by a stone wall several stories tall with a single large gate allowing for road access. The city has cobblestone streets and has a transit system with streetcar-like hovering vehicles following a groove in the roadway. Most of the buildings are brick, only a few stories in height and bear resemblance to the real-world Victorian style of houses.

The city is built over hilly terrain, with a large natural harbor. The Kingdom of Atlas has their largest foreign military base on an island just off the coast of Argus, on the other end of a large suspension bridge.

The city is the location of Sanctum Academy. Argus has one of the support relay towers of the Cross Continental Transmit System. Argus is connected to the city of Mistral by the Argus Limited. The city has Hard-Light Dust barriers that activate via towers that emerge from underwater should large Grimmsurface and attack the city.

The city was founded by settlers from Mistral, who struggled with the local climate. An influx of settlers from the kingdom of Atlas resulted in strong trading links between the two kingdoms, with Mantle and later Atlas providing technical support in exchange for local resources unavailable from Solitas.

The city is part of Mistral, but the city is so important to Atlesian commerce that the kingdom keeps a significant military presence to help protect the city. Due to deep water just offshore of Argus, large Grimm such as Leviathans are a common enough threat that the Atlesian military stations a giant robot called "Colossus" at its Argus base.

However just to the west, lays a small research facility. Focused on studying biological factors, and the effects of dust on various organic material. Recently the facility has been under attack by what witnesses call a "giant serpent"

Eastern Argus (3rd Person POV)

After a few hours of flying and very, very uncomfortable seats, the group of Huntsman and Huntresses had finally made their way towards their location. They were dropped in the forest between the city and the facility itself

"Alright, so me and Alice are going to check in at the hotel" Chris said "You four, head to the facility to our..." Chris trailed off as he looked towards the sun "...south" He turned back towards the group "When you get there, meet with the head scientist and ask permission to assess the damage and access to all camera feed and photographs...got it?"

"Get...what now?" Ruby asked

Blake stepped forward "Got it"

"Alright, once me and Alice check in, we'll head straight to you" Chris said, as he and Alice started to walk off, leaving the huntresses-in-training behind

"Sooo..." Yang trailed off

"I'll race you there!" Ruby shouted, using her semblance to move through the forest

"What the-?! No fair!" Yang yelled, while chasing after her little sister

"It hasn't even been a minute..." Weiss muttered, as she and Blake started to follow the two Huntresses in training

City of Argus (My POV)

OMFG WE'RE FINALLY HERE!

Don't get me wrong with Team RWBY around, they can turn a boring Bullhead trip to a very...interesting, yet exciting one. It's just the seats are very, very uncomfortable. And if we were allowed to turn into our Titan forms, we would've been here under an hour.

But I guess it's because the sighting of a large monster will cause panic, and panic attracts Grimm...and possible Titans...which ever comes first

Anyways, me and Alice were walking through the forest and I gotta say, these coastlines are beautiful. We should probably tour this place when were done

After a few more moments of walking, we finally reached the city of Argus and in a way, it reminds me of San Francisco, from the houses to the very culture itself. the only difference was...well, it's cold

But before we could venture forth, I felt a slight tug on my sleeve, I turned around to see Alice wth an unsure expression

"Do you need something, Alice?" I asked

"Well...yes...and no..." Alice Trailed off

"Can we...walk and talk at the same time?" I asked

Alice nodded, as we continued walking forward

"So, what did you want to talk about?" I asked

"It's...about...your last name" Alice said

My eyes widened with surprise, but Then turned back into a normal expression "Let me guess, Jeffery told you?" I asked

Alice nodded "He did...and I think I have an idea!"

I cocked an eyebrow "What kind of idea?"

"How about...we give you a new one" Alice suggested

"Huh...sound like a good idea...but it has to be something...dignified" I said "But I'll only accept...if you tell me what's with that expression"

Alice's head shot up "You noticed that...?"

I nodded "Yep. Does it...have to do with be here, in Mistral?"

"...In a way...yes" Alice said "I...haven't gotten the best memories recently"

"Alice, right now, were far away from Mistral, we're in Argus" I said

"But how...do we...know if-" Alice tried to say

I cut her off "We don't. But if anyone and I mean if anyone does anything to hurt you, I'll give them more than third-degree burns...and Jeffery may slap them to next year"

As I said that Alice started to snicker, until it turned into full blown laughter. Eventually I started to laugh along side her. But as we were laughing, we were cut off by another sound of laughter.

Me and Alice turned around to see...a child, probably no older than a few years

The child has short black hair and brown eyes and wears a white and blue long-sleeved shirt with denim overalls and white socks.

"Oh...hey...little guy...where are your parents?" I asked, while turning my head left and right, attempting to at locate his parents

The kid only responded with a series of giggles. He then lifted his little arms up, his his hands had a grabbing-like motion and started to walk towards us

"I...think he wants to be picked up" Alice said

"Uh...okaaay?" I said, confused as I walked towards the child and picked him up "So...now what?"

"I guess we have to look for his parents" Alice said

"ADRIAN!" A voice shouted

Me and Alice whipped our heads around to see a young woman

She had wavy, dirty blond hair and blue eyes. She wears an orange top with a beige vest, light brown trousers with orange stitches on each side, and dark brown boots. In addition, she wears her wedding ring on her left hand and a bootlace necklace around her neck

"ADRIAN!" The woman shouted once more

As she shouted, the baby in my hands started giggling and looks like it was trying to reach her. But...he doesn't look anything like her...but I guess it's worth a try

I started to walk towards the woman...but for some reason, she reminds me of Jaune "Uh, excuse me" I said, catching her attention

As she turned around, her eyes widened like saucers, scooped the child out of my arms, and hugged him like there's no tomorrow

As she calmed down, she zoomed towards me and Alice, grabbed my hand and started shaking it...not violently, but enough to pull a muscle "Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!" The women said as she finally let go of my hand

"Thank you...and ow" I said, rubbing my hand

The woman scratched the back of her head, with a smile "Sorry"

"It's alright" I said "I'd be happy too. My name is Chris" I said while extending my hand towards her "And this is my partner, Alice"

"N-Nice to m-meet y-you" Alice stumbled

"My name is Saphron Cotta-Arc!. It's nice to meet you" The newly named Saphron said

Wait...Arc!?

"It's nice to meet you...wait...do you know someone named Jaune Arc?" I asked

"Yeah, he's my brother. Do you know him?" She asked

"Me and Alice go to Beacon with him" I said "Then that means you're one of his seven sisters"

"Aww, my baby brother is making friends!" Saphron teased

"And probably a girlfriend is he wasn't so dented" I muttered

"Did you say something?" She asked

"No, I'm just talking to myself" I said "Oh, but can you tell me where the hotel is?"

"It's just a few blocks down from here. You can't miss it" Saphron said

"Alright, well...I guess we'll be on our way then" I said, as me and Alice started to walk off "It was nice meeting you Saph"

"It was nice meeting you as well" She shouted back, as she walked in the opposite direction

Lower Cairn (3rd Person POV)

After a small treck through the village, thre man had led the hunters-in-traiings towards the "rocks" collected from the mountains

As they arrived towards the centre of town, there was a huge crowd of people surrounding the rocks, so the hunters-in-training had to ask or slightly shove people out of the way

But as the Hunters made there way to the centre they all shared confused looks

In the centre of town were large, green/purple objects with bumps of various sizes around them. But what stood out the most were the shape of them

"...Oh no" Jeffery said

"What is it?" Jaune asked

"These aren't rocks, they're eggs!" Jeffery said

"Eggs!?" JNPR shouted in unison

As the others started to talk amongst themselves, Nora was slowly approaching the eggs, her eyes were shining like stars as she started to drool at the sight...that is until she was stopped by Ren

"Nora...what are you doing?" Ren asked

"Well...uh...hehe...I-" Nora tried to say

Ren cut her off "Nora..."

"I was going toooooooo...keep them warm! Yeah, that's it!" Nora proclaimed

"Probably in that oven of a stomach" Jeffery muttered

"Nora...what do you think laid those eggs?" Ren asked

.

"Uhhhhhhhhh...A GIGANTIC CHICKEN!" Nora, shouted with excitement

"Nora, these eggs likely came from the giant insects that were seen around here" Pyrrha said

"Yuck" Nora complained

"Just...don't turn this into another "Milkshake" situation" Jeffery said

Nora whipped her head toward him "We don't talk about that!"

But before anyone else could speak, the eggs started to crack, egg shells flying as small claws bursted out, covered in some sort of mucus. Everyone took a step back, as Team JNPR prepared their weapons. Jeffery on the other hand...had a cross in his hand

"God, I've never been much a believer...but please...please don't give me spiders" Jeffery muttered under his breath

All of the eggs then started to break open, revealing some sort of giant bug

The giant bug has a light brown color. It has green-yellow eyes with no distinction between the sclera and the iris, save for black lines which divided them. It has a single spherical eye, along with an unnoticeable segmented body with black lines between segments of the body, laced with small spikes. Its head has two antennae, and the mouth has two fangs which become more noticeable when its mouth opens. Its pincers resemble that of mantises, but spikier.

"SREEEEENK" "SREEEEENK" "SREEEEENK" "SREEEEENK" "SREEEEENK" "SREEEEENK" "SREEEEENK" "SREEEEENK"

"SREEEEENK"

Jeffery sighed in relief "Thank god it's not giant spiders"

"HOW IS THIS BETTER?!" Jaune screamed

"Never said it was" Jeffery said as he got into a fighting pose "For now, it's time to burn"

"That was a good one" Jaune said

"...Fuck" Jeffery muttered "Now he has me doing it"

One by one the eggs started to hatch, as more and more giant bugs hatched. They crawled/charged towards the onlookers, some of which were immediately tackled to the ground, as the bugs began to dig their mandible into their backs

The Huntsman and Huntresses-in-training immediately leapt towards the herd of giant bugs. The one that was biting into a woman back had it's head sliced off by Jaune as Pyrrha threw her spear towards another through its mouth, killing it instantly.

Jeffery moved past Pyrrha, jumped, spun and slammed the edge of his shield into Another giant bugs head, its lower jaws just barely hanging off. He then quickly finished it by slashing his gauntlets towards it's neck, green blood spilling on his hands

"That's...disgusting" Jeffery muttered, as he shook his hand to get the bug blood off

Nora on the other hand, began to smash the giant bugs with Magnhild, making them even flatter than a pancake "NORA SMASH!" She shouted

More and more eggs began to hatch and began to move throughout most of the village, attacking anything that moved, including cattle

"Uh...guys!" Jaune shouted

"I got them" Jeffery said as he rushed towards the deeper parts of the village. He palms on the ground and used the blast to proel himself forward towards the giant bugs. As he got close, he planted one of his hands on the bugs head

He then clenched his hands as he fired another blast from his palms, causing th giant bugs head to explode. He quickly landed on the another one lunged towards him and bit him on the arm

Jeffery slightly shouted before using his shield gauntlets to smash its face in, casing it to let go as its lifeless body clumped to the ground

Jeffery held his arm in pain, but unknown to him, another one began to sneak up on him. But before it lunged, Pyrrha threw her spear through its head, killing it instantly

Shen than rushed to her friend and helped him up "Are you alright?"

"Yeah...just a scratch" Jeffery wheezed "These things bite hard"

"UUURRRK"

Pyrrha and Jeffery whipped their heads towards the source of the noise, thir eyes widened at the sight of Grimm approaching the settlement. Unfortunately the panic had attracted a herd of Grimm, in the area. Consisting of Beowolves, Ursai and even a Goliath or two

"...ARE YOU KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW!?" Jaune screamed

"Well it was inevitable..." Jeffery muttered

As the Grimm came closer and closer with each second, the hunters-in-training got into their own poses, getting ready for another fight ahead of them

However, instead of attack the people, the Grimm actually went for the giant bugs, ripping and tearing into their flesh. And the bugs did the same, plunging their claws into the Grimm's hide

"Are...they...fighting?" Jaune asked

"Seems like it" Ren said

"Never thought we'd be saved by the Grimm" Jeffery said

"Kind of ironic now that I think about it" Nora said "Who do you think is going to win?"

"I don't think I want to find out..." Jaune said "But whoever wins, won't they turn their attention towards us?"

"Yeah" Jeffery said

"Then why don't we smash both sides?" Nora asked

"Nora...we'll just be caught in between them" Ren said

"Then I guess it's finally time I used this" Jeffery said

"Use what!?" Janue screamed

"Just get everyone to hang onto something" Jeffery said

Jeffery began to walk towards the reaming bugs. He clocked up his shield gauntlets, revealing two canisters of air dust From underneath. He lefted both his arms up towards the bug monsters and clenched his hands.

As he did, two twisters shot out from the tip of his weapons. The following twisters began to sweep up anything that wasn't nailed down, plants, rocks, Grimm and even the bugs got caught in the twisters rift

Everything that was in the twister began to spin round and round, flinging some debris all over the village. Jeffery smirked as orange sparks started to flicker from his wrists. The man-made-twister then swept up the sparks, until the twister itself began to incase itself in plasma, forming a small Plasma Twister in the process

The bugs and the Grimm began to shriek and roar out in the pain before they were incinerated by the intense heat. After the painful cries of the bugs and the Grimm died out, the twister began to fade until it disappeared, the only thing remaining were ashes, which presumably came from the incinerated bugs and the Grimm

Jeffery turned around to see the shocked faces of Team JNPR

"That" Jeffery said

"How...long have you been able to do that?" Pyrrha asked

Jeffery shrugged "Always. I can't exactly use that attack without burning the whole school down. So I only use it in open spaces. It would be one helluva light show though"

"So...is that it?" Nora asked

"I guess so" Jeffery said

'If it only were that simple" The man said

Jaune turned around "What do you mean?"

"These...bugs don't match was we saw" The man said "Not only that, they had wings"

"Do you think that they could've been some sort of...larvae?" Pyrrha asked

"You mean the thing when they change. There's a word for it...turned into something else like a caterpillar...but I highly doubt that they turn into butterflies" Jeffery said

"Where did you say you got those eggs from?" Ren asked

"Just in the mountains" The man said

The hunters-in-training then looked back towards the mountains, it's peaks actually breaching the clouds

"Soooooo...anyone up for rock climbing?" Jeffery asked

Argusline Facility (3rd person POV)

"Can you slow down!?" Weiss shouted

Weiss and Blake were still currently chasing Ruby and Yang down, who were currently racing against themselves. And due to the amount of twists and turns, they somehow got themselves lost but managed to get back on the trail.

Ruby and Yang were currently neck and neck with one another, the end of the trail was just up ahead and both of them were going all out...and surprisingly, Yang was able to keep up

"YOU'LL NEVER BEAT ME, YANG!" Ruby shouted

"OH YEAH!? BRING IT ON!" Yang shouted

Ruby than began to use her semblance, speeding past Yang like a torpedo and in only a matter of seconds, she made it to the end of the trail

"YES! I WIN, YANG! I-" Ruby tried to say, but immediately cut herself off by the sight of the Argusline Facility which was severely damaged with bite and claws marks, most of the equipment was smash or torn to shreds and the guards were being lifted by lifters and brought into an ambulance

"Ruby! What's g-" Yang tried to say, but stopped herself after seeing the carnage in front of her. By this time, Blake and Weiss had already caught up and both had the same shocked expressions. After a few moments, the huntresses-in-traning started to walk towards the facility, where they saw even more damage

"What...happened here?" Blake asked

"What do you think happened!? Its one of those...monsters!" Weiss slightly shouted "All these things know is to eat, kill and destroy...just like the GRimm!"

"Weiss...remember about C-Goji" Ruby said, catching herself

Weiss sighed "Sorry...but...I can't just change my mind about this! Every singe one we've encountered has tried to kill us!"

"Guys!" Yang said, catching everyones attention "For now we should probably help out"

"That is unnecessary" A voice said

The huntresses-in-training turned around to see a middle-aged man with grey/white hair with a matching moustache. He wore a white lab coat with a shirt pocket along with black pants with a badge attached

"You must be those students Ozpin sent, to be honest I was expecting someone...taller...and...older" He said "My name is Dr. Mafune, I'm the head scientist of this institute"

"Oh...uh...thanks?" Ruby questioned "Anyway's, I'm Ruby Rose"

"Weiss Schnee" Weiss introduced

"Blake" Blake said

"I'm Yang" Yang introduced

"Huh...I was supposed to be expecting someone by the name of Chris" Dr. Mafune said

"Oh, well he just had to do a few things...but he'll be here shortly" Ruby said "Oh and we're suppose to...uh..."

Blake cut her off "We supposed to ask permission to assess the damage and all camera feed and photographs"

"Granted" Dr. Mafune said as he led the girls inside the building "But we already assessed the damage, and fortunately, the attack was short in durations, and damage was minor" Dr Mafune said "But as a precaution, we prohibited any and all underwater activity until the crisis is resolved"

"That's...minor?" Weiss asked

As Team RWBY was following Dr Mafune throughout the building, Blake's eyes landed upon an unmarked, locked door

"What's in that room?" Blake asked

Dr Mafune cleared his throat "Oh n-nothing at the moment but it is a clean room, we had it sealed to avoid contamination"

Blakes eye narrowed at the door, and continued to do so until the door was out of sight. After a few moments of walking, Dr. Mafune had lead the huntresses-in-training towards the main laboratory...which was located underwater. The lab itself consisted of multiple insturmnets along with a massive computer, monitor included

"Sooo...where do we start?" A voice asked

Team RWBY, along with everyone else in the room turned to see Chris ad Alice in the doorway

"Took you long enough" Weiss said

"We would've been here sooner, but there was a slight problem" Chris said

"Which was...?" Yang asked

"Nothing serious" Chris said

Lower Cairn, Mountians (3rd Person POV)

"Why...did I...agree...to this...?" Jaune wheezed

For the past hour, Team JNPR, and surprisingly Jeffery we're climbing the mountains exterior. Currently they already visited four other cave systems with no results. They were currently traveling even higher to check out the fifth cave system in the mountains.

Jaune seemed to be the only one who was struggling while Jeffery was ahead of everyone else

"Come on Jaune, it's not that bad" Jeffery said

"You seem quite...adjusted to this" Pyrrha said

"Oh yeah" Jeffery said "When I was little, I loved to climb trees. And eventually I started to do rock climbing. What about you Jaune, didn't you go camping?"

Jaune laughed nervously "Yeah...I used to go on a hiking trail. But I got my own tent because I was special...also to get my sisters to stop playing with my hair"

"Wait...how many sisters do you have?" Jeffery asked

"Seven" Jaune responded

"First of all...how are you still sane?" Jeffery asked "And second, your parents need a new hobby"

"Jeffery!" Pyrrha shouted

"Hey, I'm just saying!" Jeffery defended "There has to be other ways to pass the time!"

"Like...meditating?" Ren asked

"Yeah" Jeffery said "Not my kind of thing, but yeah. How about you?"

"Oh! I do a lot of things to pass the time! Eating, sleeping, breaking l-" Nora tried to say

Jeffery cut her off "You're...actually serious about breaking legs?"

"When it comes to Nora, everything she says is serious" Ren said

"Umm...I tend to train during my pass time" Pyrrha said

"What about you Jaune?" Jeffery asked

"I tend to...write more one-" Jaune tried to say

Nora cut her off "Boooooooring!"

"Well, I for one...find it...interesting" Pyrrha said

"Thanks Pyrrha" Jaune said "What about you Jeffery"

"Sometimes I tend to work on...projects of mine. And if I have nothing to do, I would go outside"

"What do you mean by that?" Pyrrha asked

"Despite my profession, I'm more of an...action kid of guy. Rocking climbing and now flying" Jeffery said

"Speaking of flying..." Nora trailed off "Wouldn't it be faster if you just flew up there?" Nora asked

"It would. But I would never skip out on an opportunity like this" Jeffery said "...Despite my new favourite hobby"

"But...how...long...until we...get there?' Ren slightly wheezed

"Just a few more hundred feet" Jeffrey said

"WHAT!?" JNPR yelled

Jeffery laughed "I'm kidding, just a few more feet"

After a few minutes, possibly ten for Jaune, the hunters-in-training finally made their way to a small cave on the side of the mountain. But the problem was, there was a massive rock blocking the way

"Are you kidding me right now!?" Jaune screamed

Jeffery sighed "I got it" He said, as he grabbed the boulder, he than began to grip the rocks, small cracks forming at his fingertips before suddenly throwing it up towards the sky, before disappearing above the clouds.

With the boulder gone, the entrance to the cave was uncovered but inside, the caverns themselves looked big enough to hide a monster

"Whoa" Jaune said

"Yeah... not as strong as Chris but it gets the job done" Jeffery said

Nora sped up to Jeffery "Teach me how to do that!"

"No...knowing you, you'd defiantly abuse it" Jeffery said

Nora crossed her arms "Spoil sport"

"But is...this it?" Jaune asked

"I'm not sure, he did say that this mountain has many caves. What number is this one, four?" Jeffery asked "I honestly lost track"

"Do any of us have a plan?" Pyrrha asked

"Go inside and incinerate the nest" Jeffery responded

"Nice. Simple and destructive! My favourite kind of plan!" Nora said

"Yeah...about that...I need you and Ren to stand guard" Jeffery said

"Awwwwww" Nora complained

'Nora, if any of those things get out...you can smash them" Ren reassured

Nora's eyes lit up like stars as she pulled Magnhild out, and turned it into its hammer form

"Is that...a yes for her or...?" Jeffery trailed off

"It is" J_PR said in unison

"Anyways...let's get started...I guess" Jeffery said, as he Jaune, and Pyrrha entered the caves as Ren and Nora stood guard

Argusline Facility (3rd Person POV)

"Ugh! This is so boring!" Yang complained

Team RWBY, along with Alice and Chris were currently sitting in the main room watching the monitors for any sign or well...anything. Blake was reading, Weiss was adjusting her weapon, Yang was laying back, as for Ruby...she was sleeping

"Well complaining about it won't do anything" Weiss said

"Can you two keep it down? I'm trying to read" Blake said

As the girls were arguing back and forth, Chris and Alice were looking at the monitors, drained of life and looked like tehy were on the verge of passing out

"How about...Atomix?" Alice suggested

"Sounds like a cheesy superhero name" Chris said

"Uh...how about...King?" Alice suggested

"It sounds like I have a massive ego" Chris said "Anyways...are we...the only ones...watching the monitors?" Chris asked

Alice looked back and nodded

"Honestly...I'm starting to think that Jeffery was right. Maybe this whol thing was a h-" Chris tried to say

All of all sudden, he was cut off by the sound of an alarm, the room flashing red. The sudden sound of the alamr forced everyone to jump, and even scared Ruby awake

"WAIT!? WHERE!? WHEN!?" Ruby shouted

"It's about time!" Yang proclaimed

"Well...don't get too excited" Chris said

"EVERYONE HANDS ON DECK!" Dr. Mafune shouted

Chris leaned into Alice "I need you to stay here"

"What for?" She asked

"To get some more data" Chris said, then he leaned over to Yang "I gotta go and-"

Yang cut him off "Yeah, do your thing"

Chris nodded "See you in a few" He said as he ran towards the opposite side of the facility

Yang nodded as the others quickly got up and ran towards the open door, where they were met face to face with the monster that's been terrorizing the facility

The monster resembled that of an Eastern dragon, with an elongated body with four legs. It has a row of spikes going down it's long, scaley back. It also had a small hood behind his head similar to that of a cobra, and four long barbs extending from the underside of his body. It also has spikes on its arms and legs, and a forked snake-like tongue

"GRRRRRRRAAAAAAHHHH"

The serpent roared, as the Huntresses loaded their weapons, but were shaking slightly At he sight of the massive serpent that was surrounding the facility

"DON'T JUST STAND THERE! DO SOMETHING!" Dr Mafune shouted

The girls immediate got their act together and charged towards the serpent. Yang propelled herself using her gauntlets, reeled her fist back and punched the giant serpent in the face, making it roar out in annoyance

The serpent responded by lifting it's massive, thin tail out of the water and slammed it against the blonde brawler, sending her flying towards the ground

"YANG!" Ruby shouted

"RUBY LOOK OUT!" Weiss shouted

Ruby immediately whipped her head around and saw the serpent's tail was above her. She quickly used her semblance And manage to get out of the way before the tail made contact with the pavement, rocks and asphalt flying across the area. The scientists still present were running around, whipping their heads around for cover

Others just ran from the facility entirely. The only people remaining were the Huntresses and a handful of scientist. The serpent loomed overhead, slithering like a massive cobra on the hunt. It's body began to zoom Across the area, it's tail swatting any vehicle or any other equipment present, making it's way towards the facility's tower, quickly scaling it with its tiny spike claws pushing into the building as it climbed.

As its scowling spiked face reached the top, the creature opened its fanged jaws and let out a long, ear-splitting roar into the sky that shook the air around it. However, soon after the serpent began to lower itself toards the windows of the structure, almost as if it was...looking for something

"Whats it doing?" Weiss asked

"I don't care what it's doing! Kill it now!" Dr Mafune said, angrily

But before any of the Huntresses could say anything, the ground began to shake as the waves began violent. Off in the distance, three rows of dorsal fins rose of the water, before a looming shape rose out as well.

"Well...it's about time" Weiss mumbled

"SKRRRRREEEEEEEEEOOOOOOONNNNGGGK"

"GRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH"

Both monster let out a roar of challenge against one another. The serpent, using it's own body like a spring, lunged forward towards the Monster King and bit down on his neck as the serpent coiled around him.

The Monster King roared out in pain as hit suddenly bit down on the serpent's body, his dorsal fins illuminating a royal colour before his mouth was glowing blue as well

However instead of firing a beam from his jaws, the Monster King was using the energy from his mouth to burn away from the serpents flesh, making it roar out in pain as it uncoiled itself and began to swim towards deeper water.

The Monster King quickly dove underwater and swam after it, but it suddenly disappeared. It whipped it's head back and forth, attempting to locate the serpent but with no luck. The Leviathan then swam off towards deeper water, but suddenly made a turn back towards nearby land

As the two monsters disappeared, the Huntresses along with a few scientists witnessed the whole thing

"Wait...that's it?" Yang asked "I was expecting a bit more...UMPH!"

"Yang..." Weiss deadpanned

"I'm just saying" Yang defended

"UNBELIEVABLE" Dr Mafune shouted, causing the four girls to look back "THIS IS WHAT THE HEADMASTER SENDS!?

"Uh..sir, but-" Ruby tried to say

Dr. Mafune cut her off "AND WHERE IS THIS SO CALLED "EXPERT"!? ISN"T HE SUPPOSE TO HELP US DEAL WITH THIS!?"

"Dr. Mafune but-" Blake tried to say

He cut her off "NO BUTS! I RATHER WANT THIS THING GONE OR YOU GONE!" He shouted as he began to walk off, with steam coming our of his ears

The huntresses were slightly stunned at that outburst, as for Ruby she was on the verge of tears. Yang noticed and quickly comforted her little sister.

"Hey guys!" A voice shouted, catching the girls attention

Chris calming running back to the facility where she noticed Ruby's upset look "What...happened to her"

But before anyone was going to respond, Ruby looked up "That scientist is a jerk!"

"Okaaaaaayyy...anyways I need you four to follow me" Chris said

"What for?" Blake asked

"Just something interesting" Chris said

(Timeskip)

After a few minutes of walking, Chris, Alice and the rest of Team RWBY made their way back towards the lab. Where Chris sat down and started to use the keyboard

"While we were fighting, I had Alice to gather some data on Manda" Chris said

"Man...da?" Ruby questioned

"It's what I named it" Chris said

('I told you the name') Dagon corrected

'I know shut up!' Chris screamed "From what Dr. Mafune told us, Manda has been attacking the Argusline facility for a total of three days. Destroying any equipment and causing some damage to the building itself. But the thing is, why hasn't it destroyed the facility yet?"" Chris questioned

Ruby was about to say something, but stopped herself as she and the rest of her teammates processed those words "What do you think it might be?"

"I'm not sure. This "Manda" has been attacking subs, so it must be territorial" Weiss said

"Is that-" Blake tried to say

Chris cut her off "But that wouldn't make sense either. If it was territorial then it would drive us out, and the best way to do so if they destroy the facility, our "nest"." Chris said as he began to walk towards the computer, and began typing away at the keyboard. Eventually, a map of the coastline popped up on the screen with a red line Circling around the coastline

"Uh...what's with the red line?" Yang asked

"That line is the creatures route. It's been circling us and the facility for the past hour" Chris said

"Maybe it's circling its territory" Weiss said

"Yeah but..." Chris trailed off, pressed the left arrow key a few times, showing that Manda has been circling the coastline for the last several days, without stopping "It's been doing this non stop for the last several days. But the question is why, why is it doing this?

"Maybe...it's looking for something" Ruby suggested

"Ruby, that is ridic-" Weiss tried to say

Chris cut her off "No, it makes sense. Think about it, if you lost something what's the first thing you do?"

"You...you go back to the place you last saw it" Weiss said in realization

Chris nodded "Exactly" He said as he turned back towards the monitor "But if it is looking for something, then what is it? And the attacks have been focused on this location alone. So something is driving it here"

"Maybe it's looking for food?" Yang suggested "There was an entire room full of supplies, including a years worth of food"

"That is a possibility, but this area is home to species of animals, including deers and bears" Weiss said "So food shouldn't be a problem"

"Hang on...did Dr Mafune show you every room?" Chris asked as he pulled up a map of the facility

Weiss nodded "He did. He showed us the hangers all the way to their labs"

"No" Blake said, catching everyone's attention "There was one room we passed, when I asked him about it, he played it off"

"Almost as if he doesn't want anyone to find out something" Chris finished

"Whoa, whoa, can we talk about this?" Weiss asked, catching the attention of everyone "We're talking about a world class scientist that has earned the respect of every other scientist on the face of the planet! He would never do anything horrendous, let alone being involved with the attacks!"

"Weiss, I'm not pointing fingers at anyone" Chris said "But until we know why Manda is here, we have to consider every possibility"

"That...that sounds like it came from an old movie" Yang said

"I think it did" Chris said "Besides, why would a world class scientist want to destroy something as big as this, instead of studying it?"

Weiss was about to say something but stopped herself as for the first time, she didn't have an answer

Chris turned towards Ruby "Well, Ruby, your call"

"Huh?" Ruby questioned

"You're the leader of Team RWBY, I'm the leader of Team CJA_" Chris said

"Hey! May I remind you that his office is in the far corner of this building, which I remind you, has some of the tightest security in Anima! And even if you manage to get there, which you won't, there are armed guards everywhere!" Weiss said, crossing her arms and snorted when she finished

"Soooo...you get all that Blake?" Yang asked

Blake was writing everything Weiss said into a small notebook "Yep"

"Nice" Yang said

"Hey! Didn't you hear what I said!?" Weiss shouted

Yang smirked

"Yes, every word" Blake said

"But won't we get in trouble for doing this?" Alice asked

"Not necessary" Chris said "He's technically interfering with huntsman business by hiding...whatever he's hiding"

"This is going to be so much fun! We're gonna sneak into the far corners of a research facility and steal information! Like a bunch of spies" Ruby shouted "That means we get to go undercover!"

Yang bashed her fists together "Totally!"

"Ehhh...I don't think so" Blake said

Ruby and Yang whipped their heads towards Blake

"What!? Why not!?" Ruby complained

Blake scratched her head "I'm not sure how to say this...you guys...aren't exactly the stealthiest bunch"

"I'm gonna have to agree with Blake. Out of all of you, Blake is the most..." Chris trailed off as he looked towards Blake "...tame"

Yang scoffed "What are you talking about!? I'm plenty stealth-" Yang tried to say, but puched the wall next to her, causign the wall to shake and a monitor to fall over, knocking a water bottle off a desk, spilling it on the floor. A few seconds later, a worker, pushing a cart full of parts, some of which had sparks flying, walked over the puddle causing him to slip and to send the cart down the hall

"...I'm...plenty stealth-" Yang tried to say

Yang was cut off by the sound of the cart slamming against the wall...and an unfortunate worker "MY LEG!", his shouted echoing throughout the hall

"...I'm plen-" Yang tried to say once more

But was cut off By the sound a a small explosion caused by the sparks of the cart

"..." Yang slowly backed away

"Okay...I see your point" Ruby said

"Sorry..." Blake said

"You three are the worst" Weiss said

Chris chuckled lightly as he got up

"Where are you going?" Ruby asked

"I'm gonna go and patrol the area. Besides, there might be some people sailing right now, it's best we get them out of the way" Chris said, as he walked off

"What about the rest of us?" Yang asked

"I don't know, make up some puns or something" Chris said "Just keep him busy"

"Please don't..." Weiss muttered

"It's a gift!" Yang proclaimed

Lower Cairn, Mountain Range (3rd Person POV)

Jeffery, Jaune and Pyrrha were down in the deepest parts of the caverns. They had explore probably about forty percent of the caverns, it was impossible to tell especially from the outside. But based on the size of the mountain, there had to be hundreds of these caverns. Jaune was currently carrying a homemade torch as Pyrrha and Jeffery trailed from behind

"It's this way!" Jaune said

"Jaune...are you sure?" Pyrrha asked

"Yeah, no offence but I'm pretty sure we passed that rock about six times already...or was it that one?" Jeffery asked

"Pyrrha, Jeffery, I made the torch" Jaune said "Could you at least humour me for five more feet" But before Jaune could venture forth, he tripped over something and dropped his torch in a puddle "...Not again"

Jeffery sighed as he opened his palm, as a flame engulfed his hand "You're so lucky" He said as he pickedup the torh and reignted it with his plasma

"And you didn't do that before because...?" Jaune trailed off

"You never asked" Jeffery said

"...I spent fifteen minutes trying to start a fire" Jaune deadpanned

"Then...its good practise" Jeffery said

"Hang on...do any of you feel that?" Pyrrha asked

"Oh no...not again" Jaune said

"Wait what do you mean again!?" Jeffery asked

"Oh, back during the initiation, Me and Pyrrha...encountered a Deathstalker" Jaune said "...And I grabbed it's stinger...thinking it was a relic"

"And you screamed like a little girl?" Jeffery asked

"Yes...wait, how did you know!?" Jaune asked

"Yang told me" Jeffery said

"Of course she did" Jaune muttered "Anyways, Pyrrha...you feel what?"

"It feels...cold" Pyrrha said

"It's probably because were in the deeper caverns" Jeffery said, but his eyes narrowed as he saw some sort of light in the distance ""Is...that another way out?"

"I'm...not sure" Pyrrha said

Jeffery clocked up his gauntlets "I'll go and it out" He said as he slowly made his way towards the supposed exit, making sure he didn't make a single noise...just to be sure nothing else was down here

"Do you...see anything?" Pyrrha asked

"No" Jeffery said as he continued forwards. After a few moments, he finally reached the edge of the cavern. His eyes widening at the sight "Uh...guys?"

"Y-Yes?" Jaune asked nervously, as he and Pyrrha made their way towards where Jeffery was. Their eyes widening as well at the sight of hundreds, possibly thousand of eggs on the ground. And in the middle of it was some sort of giant cocoon, entangled in webs and stones

"Get Ren and Nora down here...now" Jeffery said

Argusline Facility (3rd Person POV)

On the bridge of the facility, various guards and personnel were making sure that the facility operated smoothly.

A specific guard noticed a small transport truck, carrying various crates coming their way

"This is bridge control, we have you on screen, please identify" He said

"Transport Argo, requesting permission to pass" The driver spoke through the speaker

"Transport Argo, transmit the clearance for passage" He said

"Transmission commencing" The driver said as he transferred over his credentials , a series of numbers and letter flashed on the screen

As he scanned the code, a superior guard approached from behind "Where is that cargo going?"

The bridge control guard nodded, hailed the transport again, also making sure to put the call on speaker

"Transport Argo, what is your transport?" He asked

"Transporting broken equipment"

The officer cocked an eyebrow "You mean the ones that were destroyed during the attack? Glad we're getting that under control. Do they have a code clearance?" He asked as he glanced at the screen as it finished scanning the code

"It's an older code sir, but it checks out. I was about to check them" He said

The officer nodded "Very well, have them at docking bay two. It's closer to the repair bay"

The guard switched off the speaker and responded to the transport

"Transport Argo, follow your present course to docking bay two"

The transport entered into the facilities and docked within. It's personnel closed in the docking bay to prepare to transfer the broken equipment to the repair bay

But unknown to them, a stowaway was on or rather, underneath the transport. A figure dropped from underneath the vehicle and rolled out, using the shadows, slunk to a maintenance door. After the doors to the hanger closed behind her, Blake breathed a sigh of relief

'Phew' She thought to herself

Clad in an outfit similar to her usual attire, but with some differences to help with sneaking in dimly lit areas, Blake took a moment to take in her surroundings

'If this the docking bay...then that means...'

The Huntress-in-training turned to a door panel and pulled out her scroll. Holding up her personal device to the panel, Blake ran a program to hack her way into the facilities mainframe. After a few moments, the entire facilities layout appeared on her scroll

She then tapped her scroll and located the locked room

'I guess its time to get to work' Blake thought to herself

She pulled the collar of her shirt to hider her face and began to make her way through the facility's large interior. With everything that was going on, Dr. Mafune had spread out his forces around the building in an attempt to protect the facility, not that it was going to help or anything. But as a result, the corridors weren't as nearly as occupied

But by the time she managed to get to the room it was locked, no access panels to hack, and there were no visible vents nearby But there was a small slit, meaning she needs an actual keycard instead of a passcode. Meaning she rather had to get one from somewhere or she had to find another way in

Blake sighed and tapped her scroll once more, this time locating Dr Mafune's office. And surprisingly it was only a few halls down

'I feel like someone is mocking me' Blake thought to herself as she continued down the hallway 'The next left...'

Using her scroll as a guide, Blake moved through the ship as quickly as she could. Careful avoid any cameras, patrols even sensors, the Faunus appeared to move like a shadow

'Almost ther-' Blake thought to herself, but was cut off by the sound of an approaching platoon.

She instantly moved to a darkened corner when she heard a patrol approaching

"Did you catch the game last night?" One asked

"Couldn't. I was stuck on night duty" The other said

"Well, you missed out, it was their best game yet!" He proclaimed

"Did you at least record it for me?" The other one asked

As the guards turned the next corner, Blake slid out of the shadows and continued down the hall towards her goal

"Come on, come on...where is it?" She asked

After referencing her map once again, Blake finally found herself in front of Dr Mafune's personal office

'Yes!' She mentally screamed

Using the same method as before, she used her scroll to disable the access panel to Dr Mafune's office. His office, as Blake guesses was a balance between efficiency and messy.

The office had three bookshelves of manuals, encyclopedias, rules, even notes about dust and biology. In front was a desk, littered with paperwork, files and documents. But there was also a small picture frame, with Dr Mafune, his wife and daughter. And off to the side was a small coffee table with an espresso machine

"Well, a least know I know this is his office" Blake said

Making her way behind the desk, Blake placed her scroll on top. After a moment, she opened each drawer, each one messer than the last. After a few more moments of digging, Blake finally managed to find a silver key card

"This has to be the one" Blake said, but her focus was suddenly pulled from the key, to the door to the office. Someone was about to open the door. Thinking quickly, Blake grabbed her scroll before hiding underneath it

Stepping through the now open door was Dr Mafune himself. Clearing his throat, the lead scientist stepped into his office

Blake's heart beat faster and faster as she heard his footsteps grow closer and closer. But before reaching the desk, they stopped

Dr Mafune stopped in front of his desk, shuffled the papers on his desk, until he found some sort of flash drive. He picked it up and placed it in his pocket

He sighed "I guess its almost time" He said as he walked out of his office, completely unaware of Blake's presence

Peeking over his desk, Blake checked to make sure the office was empty once more.

Blake sighed in relief, before turning her attention back towards the key card.

"What did he mean by...its almost time?" Blake questioned

Having gotten what she needed,Blake put the keycard in her pocket. However what the doctor meany by "it's time" lingered in her thoughts. Whatever he meant this may need some further investigation

Leaving his office, Blake started to make her way toward the locked room.

"That's...decision..." A voice said

Listening carefully, Blake heard someone from down the hall. Curious, she crept towards where the voice was coming from

"Listen I can't get it out of here until that...beast is taken care of!"

Peeking around the corner, Blake saw Dr Dr Mafune looking out a large window while talking to someone on his scroll

Dr Mafune sighed "No, you don't need to come over. I already have someone else taking care of it for me"

Even with Blake's heightened hearing She couldn't make out what was being said on the other side of the call

"No, no, the Atlesian Military wasn't called to take care of things" Dr Mafune said

Dr Mafune waited a moment as the voice on the other end spoke its response, as she remained silent

"It's just a few students, one of which claims he's an expert in the category" Dr Mafune scoffs "As if!"

There was another moment of silence as Dr. Mafune allowed a response

"I promise you, that I'll deliver it on schedule. You don't have to worry about a thing" Dr Mafune said

Dr Mafune tapped his ear and sighed. The doctor turned to face the window and looked over the coast

'What was that all about?' Blake thought to herself 'And what delivery?'

With the conversation over, Blake silently turned back down the hall and made her way back towards the locked room

After another few moments of sneaking, avoid any camera, staying in any shadow, she finally made her way towards the (-) room. She swiped the keycard into the slot, and it made a slight ding as it lights glowed green

As the doors opened, Blake slid in, while making sure no one else was in the other end. But as she looked around, she cocked an eyebrow. To the side of her was some sort of min-submarine, small enough to only fit one person.

"Didn't...Dr Mafune prohibit all underwater activity?" Blake questioned

"RAWG"

Blake immediately whipped her head towards the source of the noise. She saw a tinted window and slowly approached it, as she peered, her eyes widened at the sight

On the other side of the tinted window was another creature, trapped in a steel cage. It had (creature description). It was a baby Manda

It then dawned on why This Manda was attacking that facility, it wasn't because it was territorial. It was because it was looking for her baby, and Chris was currently hunting the mother down, unknown to the true situation at hand

Blake immediately took her scroll out and took a few pictures along a video of the caged Manda, and rushed out of the room as fast as she could

'I have to warn them, and fast!' Blake mentally screamed as she ran as fast as she could back towards the group

Lower Cairn, Mountains, Lower Caverns (3rd Person POV)

Ren and Nora were currently making their way towards the lower caverns with Pyrrha's help. And much to Jaunes discomfort, he and Jeffery had to stay where they were...near the nest

"I swear I just saw it move!" Jaune almost screamed

"Jaune...that's what you said for that last fifty eggs" Jeffery said

"You'd be like this if they were spiders!" Jaune almost screamed

"I...have no idea what you're talking about" Jeffery defended

But before Jaune could say anything, he was cut off by the sound of footsteps approaching him. He whipped his head towards the source of the noise and saw Pyrrha, Nora and Ren. He then sighed in relief at the sight of his teammates

"You...needed us?" Ren asked

"Well, yes...but actually no" Jeffery said

"Which...is it?" Ren asked "And...why are they down here?"

"Maybe it's because the caves provide a...suitable environment for hatching" Jeffery suggested, as he pulled out some sort of wire from his gauntlets

"You had that this entire time?" Pyrrha asked

"Yep" Jeffery said "I need all of you to spread this wire across the nest, entangled in it are fire dust crystals so be veeeeeerrrry careful. But do not touch those eggs, we wouldn't want to disturb that" Jeffery said, referring to the massive cocoon in-front of them

"...Probably a good idea" Ren said

The others nodded as the slowly made their way towards the walls of the nest, each of them careful not to step on any eggs. Jaune however couldn't take his eyes off of the giant cocoon in front of him. He may have fought off an Ursa Major, but this was something different, something big, and possibly will be very, very hungry when it wakes up

But before Jaune could continue walking, he felt something on his should that made him scream "AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH" He immediately whipped his head around to see Pyrrha behind him

"Sorry!" Pyrrha said

"Are you alright, Pyrrha!?" Nora shouted, confusing the scream for Pyrrha

"I don't think that was Pyrrha!" Jeffery shouted

"Can we continue walking please!?" Jaune pleaded

The other nodded as the continued their slow trek through the nest, careful to make sure the wire was laced between, under or over the eggs. Moments passed by, they started to breathe heavily, worried that one of them might trigger something.

But through time and patience, the others had finally made their way towards the end of the nest. All of them could only let out a sigh of relief as they dropped the dust-covered wire

"Finally..." Nora said

"Let's...get out of here" Jaune said

*CRACK*

But before any of them could move, they turned their heads slowly...to see that Jaune had stepped on one of the eggs. The massive cocoon started to shake as vines snap, rocks started to crumble and eventually the whole cavern itself started to shake as all of the eggs started to crack

"EVERYBODY RUN!" Jeffery shouted, as he and Team JNPR started to run as fast as they could, not even being careful on stepping on the eggs anymore. Some of them started to stumble or trip over the eggs but immediately got up and started to run again

As the eggs, started to hatch, pincers, legs, and even heads started to burst out, covering the hunters-in-training with some sort of mucus, while also trying to snap at their legs

Pyrrha managed to reach the exit of the nest before anyone else. She immediately stopped and help every one of her team members up by pulling them up with her. But by the time Jaune made it, whatever was inside the giant cocoon had finally hatched

It was brown in colour and had massive, brown pincers that looked like it can crush stone with ease. It's had blue, oval-shaped eyes that looked like jewels. Right below it were giant mandible that were dripping with some sort of purple liquid

It was a Meganulon Queen

"SRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEENNNNNK"

It let out a massive roar, that caused the cavern to shake. Jaune started to panic even more as he finally made his way towards Pyrrha who quickly grabbed a hold of his hand and pulled him up

The newly emerged Queen Meganulon began to slowly made her way towards the hunters-in-training, knocking over various pillars and stalagmites, accidentally crushing more of her offspring. it seemed like it was only focused on killing the intruders than anything else

As the other began to breathe heavily, jeffery's eyes wandered towards the dust wire, still spread throughout the nest

"Guys...get ready to run like hell" Jeffery said

'"WE HAVE BEEN!" Jaune yelled

"Well...run faster" Jeffery said as a plume of plasma formed in his hands.

"Wait are yo-" Ren tried to say

Jeffery cut him off "Yep" He said as he ignited his end of the wire before throwing it into the nest "Run!"

The others began to run like hell out of the caverns. The Meganulon Queen drove one of its pincers towards the exit the hunters came from in an attempt to catch at least one of them. She drove her pincers deeper and deeper into the cavern

The Hunters fell due to the amount of shaking the Queen was producing and almost got caught in her claws. The pincer snapped up and down over and over again. Jaune who was the last one behind them suddenly jumped forwards, barely missing the pincer.

The pincer snapped down again, this time almost catching his shoe. He then started to frantically backpedal until he got up again, this time out of reach from the pincer

The Meganulon Queen screeched in anger at the sight of the hunters esape, completely unaware of the "gift" the hunters left behind.

One by the one, the dust wire started to ignite before suddenly exploding, shards of rock and crystal flying everywhere, going through eggs and even broke through the Queen Meganulon's hide as the nest started to crumble. The Queen let out a shriek of agony before it was suddenly crushed under the falling debris, the nest itself was no more

However, the shockwave caused by the blast was now causing the cavern to crumble. The hunters-in-training began to run as fast as they could, accidentally stumbling over rocks as it came closer and closer with every second. Ren was using the walls to bounce off of them, Nora was using Magnhild to propel herself, Pyrrha was using her semblance to pull herself forwards, while also using it on Jaune to get him to catch up

With each second, more cracks started to form, even bigger than the last as stalagmite and other debris began to fall from the ceiling but most of the Hunters dodged them with ease.

Ren, who was in front of the group saw a blinding light in front of them, it was the exit. He Ran as fast as he could. But immediately stopped at the corner to make sure that everyone else made it. First, came Nora, then Jeffery, then Pyrrha, then Jaune...who was being dragged by Pyrrha's semblance

As the hunters made it out, the cave entrance suddenly caved in, sealing the entrance while ensuring that nothing could've made it out

"Is everyone okay?" Pyrrha asked

"...I think I'm gonna puke" Jaune said

"Well...I was planning on igniting the wire once we made it out..." Jeffery said

"...Can we go now?" Ren asked

"...Yeah" Jeffery said, as he and the other started to climb down the mountain

However, unknown to either of them, there was a small cluster of eggs just around a bend

Yang sighed "What is taking Blake so long?"

Currently Team RWBY, along with Alice were waiting in the main room. Chris had left earlier and turned into his Titan form and dove into the water in order to look for Manda, while also making sure there were no boats out in the open...just incase is there is another battle coming their way

"Yang, this facility has security equivalent to the city of Atlas. Of course it's going to take so long" Weiss said

"I just hope she comes back soon..." Ruby said in a tired tone

The doors to the lab suddenly flew open, catching everyone's attention. It was Dr Mafune, clearly in a ticked off mood. He stomped down the stairs and walked towards the young huntresses "Did you find it yet!?"

"Uh...no..." Ruby muttered

He breathed in heavily "And where are the rest of your colleges?"

The huntresses-in-trainings heart dropped at the mention of their friend and teammate

"Their...uh...ummmm..." Ruby trailed off

But before Ruby was able to respond, the doors flew open once more, revealing Blake who had a serious look on her face which didn't go unnoticed by the others

"Blake...are you...okay?" Alice asked nervously

"..." Blake didn't respond, all she did was walk down the stairs, and walked towards Dr. Mafune, her gaze not changing

"Well...what is it?" He asked

"..."

"Well...out with it!" he demanded

Blake rose her arm towards her back, much to the confusion of the head scientist. However, what shocked him and everyone else the most was that Blake took her Gambol Shroud out and held it against Dr. Mafune's neck

"Blake!" RW_Y and Alice shouted

"W-What is the meaning of this!?" He asked angrily

"Don't play innocent!"" Blake shouted "I know why she's here"

"...She?" Yang muttered

"W-What in blazes are you talking about!?" He asked angrily

Blake reached behind her using her free arm and pulled out her scroll and tossed it to Yang who scrambled to catch it...much to the unamusement from everyone present

Yang then held up Blake's scroll and pressed a small play button on the screen. What she saw made her eyes widened

"Yang...what is i-" Ruby tried to say

"RAWG"

Weiss was immediately cut off from the sound of a small screech coming from Blake's scroll. Ruby, Weiss, and Alice peeked over Yang's shoulder who all now had the same reaction

"W-Wait, I can explain" Dr Mafune pleaded "That isn't real!"

Yang scoffed "Explain. Now! Because right now, it's not looking good for you"

"GRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH"

everyone froze at the sudden roar, each one of them turned their heads slowly to see that the Mother Manda was right outside their window. The serpent drove it's head through the window, the only thing separately them from the water. It snapped its jaws all over the place, attempting to at least catch one of them

Using that opportunity, Dr. Mafune elbowed Blake in the gut, making her release her grip and grasped her stomach in pain. The huntresses-in-training immediately started to chase after The head scientist who was now running up the stairs. The doctor slammed himself against the door, being opening it, slamming it and locking the door before running off, leaving the huntresses-in-training in the main lab, which was slowly filling up with water

Manda's snapped up and down as it was trying to free itself from the now busted the window. But because of it's horns, that wasn't possible. It started to thrash it's head back and forth, letting even more water in.

The water was now up to everyones waste, not wasting any more time, Ruby used her semblance to rush towards the door and tried to pry it open

"Weiss! Help me get this open!" Ruby yelled

Acknowledging her leaders orders, Weiss used her glyphs and speed up the stair and gripped the edge of the door as well. Ruby and Weiss gripped the edge of the doors and started to pull, attempting to pry it open. Yang snapped out of her gaze and started to run u the stairs, cocking up her gauntlets in the process

"Move!" She yelled

Acknowledging her warning, Ruby and Weiss moved just as Yang punched the door, breaking it and freeing them from their watery prison

Blake and Alice began to slowly make their way towards the exit, but as the serpent kept on thrashing it suddenly stopped before it was suddenly pulled out and thrown to the ocean floor. It shook its head before turning around to face its attacker

The Monster King snarled angrily as it charged/swam towards the serpent. Manda quickly moved out of the way, just before the Monster King slammed himself on the ocean floor. Chris/Godzilla shook his head in annoyance as the serpent swam off. The Leviathan immediately got up and swam after it

(Meanwhile) Argusline Facility

Dr Mafune has been running down the hall for the last two minutes, frantically searching his pockets for his key for the locked room. He slammed his body against the door as he finally pulled out his access card and slid it in the panel

"THERE HE IS!" A voice shouted

The head scientist whipped his head around to see the huntresses-in-training running towards him. The panel then lit up a green colour as he frantically opened the door, got in and slammed it shut just before the huntresses-in-trainong made their way across the hall

Just as before, Ruby and Weiss attmpted to pry the door open. Blake had managed to catch up with them and shot the panel, activating the alarm as the doors flew open, allowing the Huntresses to continue their pursuit

(Meanwhile) Coastline

Manda bit down on the Monster Kings neck as it began to coil around him, causing the two monsters to spiral down to the ocean floor, Shaking the ocean floor, and creating a plume of sand that covered the area

She slithered out out of the plume like a serpent in mid-aire, the Monster King still trapped in it's coils as the serpent dragged him across the ocean floor. The serpent then did a sharp U-turn on an underwater mountain, slamming the Leviathan into it, causing it to roar out in pain

The serpent then swam into a field of underwater stalagmites, still dragging the Leviathan, it continuously dragged and slammed him against the rocks

(Meanwhile) Argusline Facility

Dr. Mafune ran down the hall as fast as he could. He reached another door, this time leading towards the sub. He typed in a special keycode before opening and slamming the door behind him once more

By the time the Huntresses-in-training had made their way towards the last door, Dr. Mafune was already by the sub, with the cage attached to it's tail. Yang cracked her knuckles and punched the door...this time have no effect

"Nice try! That door is made out of titanium, not even an Ursa can tear it down!" The doctor cheered as he got in the sub

Yang repeatedly punched the door, making slight small dents. But they knew by the time that Yang punched down the door, Dr Mafune would be gone. And with Chris/Godzilla dealing ith the serpent, his getaway was more than guaranteed

"Can we activate the PA system from here?" Weiss asked

"I should be able to...why?" Blake asked

.

.

.

"We give her what she wants" Alice said, catching on what Weiss was suggesting

As the subs air-tight doors started to open, Blake was hot-wiring the panel, not to unlock the door...but to call for help. By the time the doors almost opened, Blake had connects the panels wires to the PA system

"Cross your fingers" Balke said as she pressed a button on her scroll

"RAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWG"

(Meanwhile)

The baby's cry, echoed throughout the coast, catching the attention of every living being in the area...including a very specific mother

As she continued to drag the Monster King Across the ocean floor, she suddenly stopped, hearing the cries of her baby. She uncoiled herself around the Leviathan and swam off. The Monster King crashed onto the ocean floor, he slowly lifted his head up to see Manda swimming off towards the distance

He immediately got off of the ocean floor and swam after her. But as the Monster King got closer, he also heard the cries of the child, he was able to loosely translate it as ("Mom!")

It suddenly stopped and looked towards the source of the cries ("Son...")

("Son!?") The Leviathan asked, catching the serpent's attention ("Is that why-")

She cut him off ("Yes...he was taken from me...by that wretched human!")

("I'm...sorry...I-I didn't know-")

Manda swam up to the Monster King ("We can worry about that later. But please...help me save my boy") She pleaded

.

.

("I will") The Leviathan said With a determined glare as he swam towards the source of the cries, with Manda trailing behind him

(Meanwhile) Argusline Facility

As the doors finally opened, revealing a small exit below, the sub that was carrying the captive child took off as it still cried for it's mom.

However, in a few moments, the mother made it's way towards the hidden bay. Her head bashing through stone and rock thar made up the bay.

The mother casted an angry glare and roared towards the window, forcing the huntresses-in-training to cover their ears as the windows cracked...and was the only thing that was preventing the water from reach the rest of the laboratory

"They went that way!" Ruby yelled

The Mother serpent acknowledged what Ruby said, and reeled her head out where she saw the sub swimming away with her captive baby in tow. The mother let out a shriek at she suddenly lunged towards the sub, catching it in her jaws

Dr Mafune began to hod on for dear life inside of the sub as the mother pulled it to the surface, the sub still in it's mouth and the cage carrying her baby dangling from it.

By this time, RWBY, Alice and the remaining acientists had made it out of the facility, watching the whole scene.

The Monster King suddenly rose out of the water soon after, staring at the mother serpent

"Daddy!" A voice shouted, catching the attention of everyone

Standing in the parking lot was a little girl with brown hair and pig tails

"Elsa! Don't come any closer, please!" Mafune shouted through the speaker

What he said, shocked everyone, especially to the Huntresses-in-training. Dr. Mafune was always described as...rude, and angry person. But waht he said, was actually full of concern for someone else besides himself

The serpent could only let out a slight below, understanding what was gong on ("I can smell your fear on you. But it's not fear for yourself...no, I smell a much stronger terror that the others can't possibly imagine. As one parent to another...give me back my son")

The Monster King then suddenly grabbed the cage and ripped it off of the sub. As for the sub itself, Manda had threw the sub with her jaw towards shallow water, where it crashed and severely damaging it

RWBY had made their way towards the now damaged sub, the hatch flew open as Dr Mafune slowly crawled out Before passing out on the ground

The Monster King then clamped his jaws onto the cage, with the mother standing behind him. After a few more moments, he applied more pressure to his jaws and ripped the cage open, allowing the baby Manda to slither out

"RAWG" The baby Manda let out a small shriek as it swam towards its mother.

The mother then bent her head down towards the baby and nuzzled him.

Team RWBY, Alice and everyone else who was watching the scene in al of its glory, all had different expressions. While the scientists were recording the whole thing, the huntresses in training however were watching the scene in awe.

Ruby, Alice, Blake, and Weiss were smiling at the sight. Yang on the other hand...was crying

Yang may seem tough and wild, but that doesn't mean she can't like cute things. The frilly ribbon on her boots during tough battles is one example. And...she's easily moved to tears

"You're so girly" RWB_ said in unison

"What?! What's wrong with that?!" Yang said in between sobs

"GRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH"

The sudden roar coming from the mother caught the attention from everyone, immediately whipping their heads towards the source of the noise.

The baby began to swim off towards the open ocean as the mother trailed behind her son, diving into the ocean and then shooting back up, making an arch-like shape

But before the mother dove into deeper water, she turned back towards the Monster King who let's out a small roar, the Monster King returned the call with a small roar of his own

The mother nodded as she dove her head into the water, disappearing from sight

As the Mother Manda dove under the waves, the Monster King started to walk towards the open water as well, each step making the ground tremble before he, himself dove under the waves. Only his dorsal fins were visible until they disappeared as well

(Timeskip) (My POV)

Well...that was something

About an hour has passed since Manda and her baby swam off towards the open ocean. Honestly, I was happy for them, I mean who wouldn't be happy at that sight.

From what I heard form the others, Yang started crying and that was rare

Currently the MPD or Mistral Police Department were currently taking Dr...well, now it's Mafune because of what he did. Turns out he was going to sell the baby to the black market for what reasons I'll never know

As they were loading him on a Bullhead I started to walk towards him

"Hold on just a second" I said, with a slight angry glare

"You wouldn't hit a guy with glasses would you?" Dr Mafune asked

I sighed, took his glasses off and slapped him with them

"Yes, I would" I said, as I walked back towards the others

"You...hit a guy...with glasses" Yang said

"Yep...comedy at it's finest" I said "Anyways, I guess it's time to head back

"Wait! What about exploring?!" Ruby shouted

"Ruby...it's pretty much dusk, besides I think we overstayed our welcome" I said

"Awwwwwwww" Ruby complained

I chuckled "Next time"

Yesh! These last few chapters are flashback central! But in all serious notes, I need to stop it with the flashbacks. But anyways, next chapter will be the final filler chapter before finally moving onto Volume 2

This chapter was partly inspired by "Deadloch" from Godzilla The Animated Series (1998)

And as for the reason I took so long...Skyrim...I blame Skyrim. Not only that, but with college starting up again, and waking up early in the morning just to go to the gym, it leaves a small timetable to write. But I will try to get them out as soon as I can
