Chapter Nine: An Unusual planet

Preparing for the trip was the exact opposite of easy. Palpatine had to find a ship that could travel in lightspeed; had enough storage and could travel for long distances without refuel. This planet was so far away that it would him take ten days to travel there using lightspeed. Palpatine also considered taking Jar Jar Binks but as he was important to the Sith, he couldn't risk Jar Jar's life.

The ten days on the ship were the most boring and stressful days of Palpatine's life. He had brought two droids along with him but they barely functioned. The clone wars had also just started and Palpatine was worried that the Jedi would accidentally win the war.

When the ship did eventually come out of lightspeed, Palpatine saw a beautiful green planet with blue waters taking up most of the space. It was unlike any planet Palpatine had ever seen in his life and was excited to land on it.

A few minutes away from the ships landing area were a bunch of hills with doors and windows carved into them. The 'village' as Palpatine supposed was almost empty with no people to be seen except for a shadow in one of the windows.

Palpatine walked up to the house he saw the shadow in and knocked on the door.

A short man opened the door.

"Hello there", said the man, "its always a pleasure to have visitors."

"Before I come in", said Palpatine, "I would like to ask you a question."

"Any question is okay with me", the man replied enthusiastically.

"Have you seen a gungan around here recently?", asked Palpatine.

"Never in my life have I heard of a gungan.", replied the man.

"Okay", said Palpatine, "I see."

"Well, you can tell me what a gungan is", said the man.

"What is your name?", Palpatine asked curiously.

"Well", said the man, "my name is Bilbo Baggins. Would you like a cup of tea?"
