"ALL AREA UNITS, GUN FIRE HAS BEEN REPORTED WEST OF THE CITY ON HIGHLAND AVENUE" Marshall ran over to the now slain Gestapo Officers to take their guns for more ammunition. He undid their utility belts and took the multiple mags of ammunition they had, even taking one of their pagers to keep tabs on what Dispatch is saying. Marshall could already hear the blaring wails of the Police Sirens getting louder and louder. When he took both the dead Officer's Gun and ammo, 2 Patrol Cars had just pulled up. Marshall had jumped and ran in the other direction whilst firing at their windshield to prevent them from firing back at him since he was running and making himself an easy target to pick. More Officers had gotten to the scene and started to tend their slain brothers in blue.

"CODE TEN DOUBLE ZERO, OFFICER DOWN, REPEAT OFFICER DOWN" Dispatched responded from Marshall's shooting. After Marshall had taken off in the opposite direction to direct the attention to him. The Resistance member could finally get out of the city.

"Better now than never I guess" He said as he moved the bus from being in park to drive and slowly drove his way out of the alley with Skye in the back of the same rusted bus, trying not be be seen by the Authorities even though she wanted to see Marshall, even if it was through a window and he was being shot at. The Plan was working fortunately, Gestapo paid no mind to the passed bus that was driving away. Skye raised her head up to the window to see a swarm of Officer, rendering first aid to ones that had been shot and others taking cover behind their patrol cars. All Skye could do was watch as she being driven away to a land where she wasn't familiar with and wasnt going to feel safe in whilst watching the Dalmation run and fire at Gestapo.

"SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT!" He expressed his panic as he was running away and turn every corner he could to try and get away. The overwhelming sound of a police siren began even louder as Marshall turned around and saw a Patrol vehicle coming toward him. He raised his paws at the Patrol car and opened fire at the 2 Officers inside, One was shot in the head and the other in the neck and collarbone. The officer that was driving was the one that was struck in the head and died instantly, the other tried to draw his service pistol whilst trying to get out of the car. But failed as Marshall put 4 more bullets into him causing his keel over in pain and die. Marshall walked over and took his gun before seeing more Patrol cars racing toward him. With nowhere to really run other than continue going down the strip of road which would make him vulnerable.

Marshall took cover in front of the empty patrol car he had shot the officers from before. The other Newly arriving Patrol vehicles came behind the car Marshall was in front of. Without hesitation, the Gestapo Officers got out and opened fired on Marshall's position. Marshall kept his head down, afraid that a round might enter and exit through him and end his life in the blink of an eye. He was constantly thinking of the promise he made to Skye about getting back to her and seeing her again. No way was Marshall going to break that promise as a rush of adrenaline coursed through Marshall's veins.

When the shooting came to a minimum, Marshall clenched his 1911 Handgun and a Service pistol he took in each paw, he popped his head up and started firing at the Vehicles in unison with hope to hit someone. Marshall wasnt trained in firearms that much or in proper aim, but fortunately. The Officers kept their heads down to take cover from the overwhelming gunfire. When both the slide's of the gun came back, signaling Marshall had no more ammo in the magazine. Marshall turned around and ran. Officers poked their heads out from the hoods and side doors of their patrol cars to see the Dalmation running away. Some gave chase to Marshall whilst others fired at Marshall hoping to put a bullet in him and end the Chase. Marshall had ran a far enough distance that it was proven difficult to hit him with the Gestapo's firing from their handguns. Marshall turned and corner into an alleyway, 3 Other Officer seconds later also turned into the Alleyway to see Marshall was gone. The Alleyway was very long and wide, so there was no way Marshall could have ran across that quickly.

"Dispatch, we lost him, send out a BOLO" One of the Policemen grabbed their pager from their waist and rang in to Dispatch for the other Officers to be on the look out.

"10-4, All Units be advised, Visual Contact with Suspect has been lost, Last seen near the Ms. Bailey Baker Alleyway. Suspect is described as a Male Dalmation, above average height" Dispatch had relayed to all the Gestapo Officers in the Roswell City. All three Officer's walked down the alleyway to investigate it more. 2 of the Officers continued down the alley whilst one stayed behind as he accidentally stepped on something. He looked down and saw he just stepped in a chew up gum. The Officer cringed in disgust as he walked over to a dumpster and scraped the bottom of his shoe on the exterior of the large garbage bin. In the corner of the wall was another large dumpster and inside was Marshall trying to be quiet. Marshall had no idea how he was going to get out of this as he tried to minimize his breathing.

Marshall now coming to the conclusion that he may need to get into a gun fight again. He silently and slowly unloaded his 1911 stuffed the empty magazine into dirty bag that he was laying next to in the dumpster. He placed his paw on his lower side, where he slowly retrieved a loaded magazine and loaded it into the handgun and carefully pulled back the slide to chamber a round. Marshall now with his loaded gun, slightly lifted up the hood of the dumpster to peek out to see if the coast was clear, the Officer was gone and now was his chance. But before Marshall got out, he wanted to make sure what he was going to do and where he was going to go. Marshall opened up the dumpster and peeked out more, trying to find somewhere he could at least hide out for awhile. He looked across the street and saw a fire escape at the back of an apartment building that went all the way up to the roof top.

Without hesitation he leaped out of the Dumpster and ran across the street to the fire escape, amazingly no one saw him. Marshall held his handgun in his mouth and started to climb up a ladder and onto the fire escape where he walked up the stairs in the open air until reaching up to the roof and looking over a good part of the city. The Sun was started to go down and the orange light beamed across the earth and onto the Dalmation. Marshall could see a lot of Patrol cars screeched in one way to the other to try and find him. Marshall backed away from near the edge of building in fear of him being spotted. Marshall walked over to other side of the rooftop to see an arrangement of rooftop air conditioning units. Marshall didnt think twice as he walked over to them and kicked open a large vent that went into the large AC unit. With an open space, Marshall crawled in and thought he could hide in there for at least a few hours or tomorrow, when everything started to cool down a little bit. With him now along with nothing but his thoughts, Marshall began to think about Skye and what might happen to her in the Neutral Zone. But All he could do was hope, but hope wasnt going to get her far.

4 HOURS LATER

FAR SOUTH WEST OF WYOMING

Skye just kept staring out the window out into the night sky, she had bags under her eyes but she didnt feel tired. Her eyes were slightly red because from was still tearing up from the fact that she had to come to the conclusion that Marshall was most likely dead or being sent off somewhere to be brutally tortured then executed. The rusted bus was heading down a lone road to a small town where they were going to make their stop. After Skye knew she had to meet someone named Ulysses like Marshall said. A large part of Skye strongly opposed getting involved in resistance activity since she was very nervous about doing it. The only beams of light were from slightly broken street lights the driver was passing at 70 miles per hour and the bus's cracked and blinking headlights.

"What's your name again?" The Driver asked out of nowhere, not taking his eyes of the road. Skye rose her head and looked at the human driver.

"S-Skye"

"Well Skye, before you get off this bus, dont wear that swastika around your paw, people dont take those symbols very well around here" The Driver advised, Skye looked at the small red arm band she wore around the upper arm. Skye immediately took it off and stuffed into her bomber jacket she still had on. Skye looked in front of her through the windshield from the middle part of the bus to see a small town, as the bus was getting closer to to the town. He started to slow down and pull into a small run-down gas station where the vehicle finally stopped. Skye walked down the small aisle of the bus and got off, placing her paw on the rocky ground. Right behind the Skye was the resistance driver with a gas canister already in hand.

"Looking for Ulysses, right?" He asked as he walked over to the gas tank of the small bus, Skye follow him.

"Yes, d-do you know where I can find him, please" She asked.

"Hes a grey wolf that owns a small flag shop on the other side of the town, It has white, blue and red lights at the front; you cant miss it" He stated, Skye thanked him and started to make her way over to the other side of the small town to find Ulysses.

Every second, Skye had felt a cold wind brush over her. It wasnt because it was a cold atmosphere tonight, maybe it was her fears being put into feeling. She was very nervous about everything and everybody around her. She had passed by a few people on the sidewalk, some paid no attention to her whilst others did. Beggars and homeless people laid at the entrances of alleyways in tattered clothes. It was sort of peaceful in the small town which surprised her very much since she had always imagined the Neutral Zone as constant crime through the day and night.

Skye turned the corner to her left to see a slightly better looking part of the town. More working lights and windows on buildings that were only slightly cracked instead of being fully broken. Skye kept walking down the sidewalk keeping an eye out for the flag shop she was told about. Skye continued to keep walking until she spotted a small corner store, the large sign on top of the small establishment had been chipped off, but the word 'Flags' was still clear. The red blue and white bright lights outside also was a clear indication of the right place.

Skye walked over and looked inside through a large display window to see the inside wasn't very lit. Lights were off and no one was inside. She thought it was closed since it was very late tonight and the person decided to close up shop. It wasnt until Skye walked over to the door to see the 'OPEN' sign was still up. Skye was confused, but she went forward and pushed open the door and walked in. a small bell on top of the door rang as Skye pushed open the door.

"H-Hello?" Skye asked for a response as she looked around the dark room, the moon light was able to provide some sort of sight into the shop. The cockapoo saw bright coloured flags, some pure yellow and others red white and blue.

"Can I help you?" Skye perked up at the voice she heard from behind her, Skye turned around and could barely see the person. It was grey wolf, only the body's outline stood out. Skye was too afraid to talk from the sudden appearance from the wolf. Skye stayed silent until the grey wolf walked past Skye to a nearby wall, he stood up on his hind legs against the wall and moved his paw to the back of a painting, where he flipped a switch. After a slight buzzing sound was heard the lights came on. Skye gazed around the room at the amount of flags around the room from the past.

"So what kind of Flag do you need, Gadsden flag?, Betsy Ross?, Sons of Liberty?" He asked as he pointed to the bright flags around the room.

"Are you Ulysses?" Skye spoke up, the wolf just looked back at her with a stern face.

"I dont know that name, but if you aren't going to buy something-" The wolf turned away from her and decided to walk back where he came from to the back of the store. "Johnny Red, the blood stained his name" Skye spoke out. The wolf turned his head back and looked at her like she had done something wrong.

"But Lincoln's tears eased the musket's smoke" He said as he motioned for Skye to follow him, The cockapoo was afraid of him, the cold vibe he was giving off made Skye shiver every time he locked eyes with her. She followed the wolf into a small room at the back of the store, where there was a lot to see. The smell of alcohol was clear in the small room as Skye covered her nose from the stench. Apart from the strong smell of Whiskey, were the bright colours of Red white and blue on the wall. United Stated Flags but instead of Swastika in the canton, there were bright white stars.

"I can tell you're not used to this, who sent you to contact me" He asked as he sat down and poured himself a glass of whiskey from an open bottle on the table. Skye was afraid to talk again until sitting down in a gentle way.

"M-Marshall"

"Marshall, Hmmm"

"You know him?"

"Yeah...where is he?" He asked as he drank from his glass, already pouring himself another.

"I dont wanna talk about it" She said, Skye expected to be asked again or even threaten to be told what happened to Marshall, but Ulysses just sat down and nodded in understanding.

"He's dead, isn't he?" Skye didnt speak up, she wanted to direct the conversation about something else. She looked past the grey wolf and saw a small picture of him and female wolf both smiling, they were very happy. Skye looked back and saw the sad difference.

"Who is she?" Skye pointed out at the picture, the wolf just turned his headback at the picture of him and the female wolf. She was colored like caramel candy on her back and white as the clouds on her belly and under her muzzle. She had a little dark caramel color on her ears while a light caramel around her eyes and the rest of her face. The smile from her face on the photograph seemed to bring the wolf even more sorrow as he turned back his head and poured himself another drink.

"I dont wanna talk about it" He said as he poured a very tall glass of whiskey and immediately drinking it all in 2 gulps.

"Shes dead, isn't she?" Skye asked out just like the wolf did, Now Ulysses was one who was silent. He stayed still with his mouth shut, not even bothering to pour himself another glass.

"She-She was so full of life, I loved her so much and we were happy. After a month of being together...she told me she was pregnant and she was going to have pups. Then she...she-" He stopped himself as he clench the bottle of whiskey for something to squeeze.

"It's Okay, you dont have to say" Skye put her paw on Ulysses's paw across the small table in show of comfort, He appreciated the show of kindness as he lifted his head from the floor and at her. Skye could see in his eyes he was on the verge of tears.

"She...went to visit her family in the Pacific States, Over 2 months I didn't hear back from her. I had heard that...that she...was murdered and hanged" He couldn't hold back the tears anymore, it had been years since this tragedy had happened to him but it was vivid in his mind that it felt like it had happened recently. No matter how many time he tried to assure himself that it was okay and she was in a better place, he couldnt stop his tears.

"I'm so sorry" Skye said, as she stroked the fur on his paw trying to calm him down. He started to talk deep breathes as he put once again picked up the Whiskey and just drank straight from the bottle, trying to drown his sorrows.

"Thank you for trying to help, but...we have to get back on track" He said as he wiped the tears from under his eyes, Skye revoked her paw from his and nodded.

"If Marshall really sent you, then you must know who we are and what we are fighting for?"

"Freedom?" She asked out, it was a good answer, but not the correct one.

"Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness...Just like in Declaration of Independence it was written, until they showed up and took it from us" He stated as he got more serious and patriotic.

"Us?"

"Yes, Americans, We the people" Ulysses exclaimed to the cockapoo.

"I'll tell you all about it tommorrow" He said as he got back up and walked out of the small room, Skye followed as he went for the front door and motioned for her to leave.

"But-But I have nowhere to stay"

"Theres a motel somewhere on the other side of Town, they'll let you stay there for a small price" He said as he motion once again. Skye walked out until behind stopped by the wolf again.

"Lupe"

"Huh?" Skye turned back in confusion.

"Ulysses is just a code name, my name is Lupe" He said as he closed the door and turned back off the lights in his small shop. Skye smiled a little bit before walking back across the street and back down the sidewalk. In front of Skye were two canines leaning against a wall and just talking to each other. One was a Irish Setter and the other was a Great Dane with a slight muscular build both male. Skye avoided eye contact with the two trying not be noticed, but unfortunately for Skye, she was noticed. The two canines smirked and nodded at each other, before walking up behind Skye and pushing her violently to the left into a dark alleyway.

Skye gasped from the sudden assault and landed on her back and started to back away from by going into the dark alley. The Irish Setter then pulled out a switchblade whilst the Great Dane clench his paws, clearly showing he didnt need a weapon to deal some damage. The two closed in on her slowly, obvious wanting to soak more fear into her. Skye tried to get farther away from them by going deeper into the alleyway, but it didnt go far and at the end was a brick wall. All Skye could do was seek safety into a corner.

"Lets make this quick, give us all you got" The Irish Setter demanded, Without hesitation, Skye reached into her Bomber jacket and pull out just 12 dollars, she didnt have much, but it was all she had. She threw the money at their paws, hoping they would just take it and go. But to her new nightmare in front of her, this didnt satisfy them.

"This isnt enough, I guess well just have to take something else then" The Great Dane said as he started to look at Skye in perverted way whilst licking his lips. Skye knew exactly what this meant and tried to think of a way get out of this. She frantically looked around, but there was no way ou-

BOOM

The Great Dane then fell forward as the sound of a shotgun blast went through the air, he fell over and screamed out in pain before going silent by succumbing to his wounds and dying on the floor in front of Skye. The Irish Setter turned around with fear in his eyes as he saw a small canine outline holding a shotgun with smoke still coming out the barrel.

"MOTHERFUCKER!" The Irish Setter shouted as he charged at the small unknown dog, not even making it a good distance to him before the dog pumped his shotgun and shot the knife wielding criminal. The dog fell over dropping the switchblade, he groaned on the dirty floor of the alleyway before the hound lowered the shotgun and shot again into his chest, killing him. Skye was too scared to runaway or even get up to thank the person. She knew this dog was too small to be Lupe, so she had no idea who this was.

Skye saw him turn from the eyeing the dead Irish Setter to her, and started to slowly make his way to Skye. As he got closer, Skye could see clearer to who it was. It was a chihuahua with brown eyes, mostly brown fur with snow white patches of fur on his paws and on his muzzle.

"Dios Mio, are you okay ma'am?" He said in a Mexican accent ,reaching out his paw to the cockapoo.
