Hello There! Here's Chapter 8!

Peter and Eddie looked up, and were taken aback.

What they saw were the two most beautiful Guardians they had ever seen. They had seen hot girls before in training and stuff, but these two new Hunters were something else. Eris Morn seemed like the brooding type, dressed in all black and a cowl covering her head, while Petra Venj seemed dressed to kill, with various knives sheathed on her outfit.

(I don't usually write this kind of thing, but this is an exception since Petra and Eris are my two favorite Destiny females.)

All in all, they knew they were hopelessly in love.

Venom didn't help, saying, "Oooh, you like her, don't you?"

Eddie blushed hard and hid his face in his hands, pretending he had something in his eye. He was astonished that such beauty existed.

Peter couldn't even contain himself, sputtering and stammering to no end, trying to introduce himself, saying "H-hi, I'm Parker Peter- I mean Peta Porker- I mean..."

Eddie smacked a hand to his head and picked Peter up, pulling him out of the cafe while Peter squealed, "Wait! WAIT! I'M NOT DONE!"

Once they were safely out of earshot, Eddie dropped Peter and said, "Let me guess. You saw them too."

Peter nodded at the speed of sound, and said, "Yeah, the most beautiful girl I've ever seen!"

Eddie asked, "Which one?"

Peter answered, "The one who looked all broody and carried a green, glowing rock."

Eddie internally sighed with relief and said, "Ok, let's think this through. We both like one of them, but we're both hopelessly out of their league. What can we do to impress them?"

Peter thought for a moment and said, "We could create a disaster then save them from it!"

Eddie said, "No. We have to be honest."

Peter stamped his foot in anger and said, "How about we don't do anything at all?"

Eddie said, "Fine. Let's get to class before we're late."

Throughout the rest of the day, their thoughts dwelled on the two new Guardians... at least Peter's did. Eddie had to concentrate on keeping his friend Venom a secret.

SOME TIME LATER...

They were reaching the point in their Guardian career that they were allowed to choose Guardian codenames. Peter wanted to go with "King Fire Bomber," since he favored the Solar weapons and abilities. Eddie had no idea what he would do for his, since he wasn't good at thinking up this stuff. Finally, when it was his turn to be called up, he walked up to the podium and said, "I have decided on the codename, 'Venom,' because I strike like venom in your veins."

Ikora, his current overseer, nodded with approval. "I like it," she said. "Short, symbolic, and still terrifying to our enemies. Good selection, Eddie, the Venom."

Eddie internally sighed with relief and said, "Thank you, Master," which was how the Warlocks addressed their overseer while they were students. Eddie went back to his seat and waited for the naming to be over.

When it finally was, he headed back to his dorm, where he ran into Petra and Eris, who were also heading back to their dorm. He said, "Oh, hi." He had become more comfortable since they had shown up that day, and was able to talk without sputtering or humiliating himself.

Peter, on the other hand, was as hopeless as the first day.

Eddie asked them, "So, did you choose your codenames?"

Eris spoke first, "I chose, 'Harbinger.' I think it fits my personality."

Eddie nodded and asked Petra, "What about you?"

Petra answered, "I chose 'Wrath,' short for 'Queen's Wrath,' which was my title before I was a Guardian."

Eddie remembered that Awoken (like Petra) could remember large chunks of their past lives, including their names and other information.

Eddie both wished he could and was glad he couldn't remember his past.

They continued until they reached the three-way fork in the hallway that separated the three dorm paths. Petra went down the left toward the Hunter dorms while Eddie started down the right to the Warlock dorms. He waved goodbye to them before being slammed into a wall by an unseen force.

He immediately guessed it was Chadrick and said, "What do you want now?"

Chadrick (it was him, good guess, Eddie) sneered, let him go, and spat, "Stay away from my girls."

Eddie asked, confused, "'Your girls'?"

Chadrick said, "Yeah, the two hotties who showed up two months ago. They're mine, so no funny business, got it?"

Eddie was not pleased with this and said, "One girl is one thing, but TWO is another. That's animalistic and inhumane, so either pick one, or neither, Chadrick."

Chadrick turned red with rage and said, "Watch it, punk. I'll whoop your a-"

Eddie didn't give him a chance to finish, flipping him over onto his back and pinning him to the ground. "Respect women, Chadrick. More importantly, respect me and every other living thing in this universe. Got it?"

Chadrick grunted yes and Eddie let him go. He walked down the middle to the Titan dorms, flipping Eddie off as Eddie disappeared down the right.

Meanwhile...

On a massive warship, a giant, white, mask-wearing bipedal alien stared at a map of the Solar System, with the Traveler highlighted and enlarged. He commanded an officer in a deep, threatening, booming voice, "Set our course for Earth... and the TRAVELER."

Here's Chapter Eight, hope you enjoyed it. I'm thinking of starting a new story, while continuing this one and Deapool Breaks the Internet. However, I'm gonna wrap up DBTI after Chapter 10-12, so don't worry about continuity.
