Six months has passed since Naruto joined Fairy Tail and had settled in nicely. After shocking everyone by eating fifteen bowls of miso ramen much to the boy's amazement and the girl's disgust. Naruto found a small but homely apartment ten minutes walk from the guild.
Currently Naruto and Natsu were sparing down on the beach next to the guild, the spar itself being very one sided. Levi, Cana and Gray sat on the sand watching the two while Erza and the Strauss siblings were away on missions. Naruto couldn't help but notice how Erza and Mira had a very similar relationship to Natsu and Gray. Both declared each other their rival and found each other to be annoying.
"Ahhhh," Natsu groaned as he rolled around on the floor gripping his right hand into his chest. "What the hell is your face made off, Iron?" Natsu yelled while Naruto looked at Natsu with an amused look on his face.
"You're the one who punched me therefore it's your fault," he said causing Natsu to stand up and pout.
"How did you get so strong"? Natsu mumbled.
"I have told you this many times before Natsu. I trained until I couldn't move my body. Then I trained some more".
"I know, I know," Natsu mumbled as he shook his hand. "Alright let's go again. "This time I'll kick your ass" Natsu said but noticed Naruto walking away back to the guild.
"Hey where do you think you're going? I'm not finished with you yet."
"I'm going inside; sparing is done for the day. It's too warm today so I'm going to get a drink. Anyone else coming?" He said towards the group and watched as Levi and Cana while Gray ran and did a flying kick towards Natsu knocking the pink haired boy back against the sane. Natsu immediately got back up and the two began their daily tussle.
"Should we stop them?" Levi said to which Naruto shook his head.
"Let them fight. Beside Erza gets back today and I'm sure that will stop them," he said grinning causing the two girls to giggle. Erza was one of the few who could immediately put a stop to the two boys fighting.
The three walked inside and ordered three drinks and ok their place at their resident table. The two girls began chatting away as Naruto scanned the room. His eyes stopped and narrowed when he saw Laxus. The two clearly did not like each other and everyone in the guild knew it. The two had a few runs ins with each other but it thankfully never got physical.
Laxus was constantly looking down on everyone and Naruto would always defend everyone. They did almost come to blows once but Makarov quickly put an end to it.
Laxus turned his head and he two narrowed his eyes at Naruto before scoffing and walked out of the guild.
"You two really don't like each other do you?" said Cana catching Naruto's attention.
Naruto smirked. "What gave it away?"
"The fact that you two are always glaring at each other and that the guild seems to go quiet when one passes the other. The Natsu/Gray rivalry we can handle. We can also handle the Erza/Mira rivalry most times. But I dread to think what would happen if you two started fighting each other. The two of you are the strongest of our generation. You two would tear the guild apart."
"You think I'm strong?" Naruto said teasing to which Cana rolled her eyes playfully.
"You know you're strong," she said to which Naruto just shrugged.
"I might be strong but at least I don't rub it in other people's faces like he does."
"Just don't let him get to you."
The three then went to talking as Cana messed around with her magic cards while Levi and Naruto talked about Runes. The two had become very accustomed to Rune Magic now and Levi was surprising Naruto at how well she was developing her own Runes and understood all the formulas. Naruto thought she could have Uzumaki blood in her but quickly let go of that thought.
The three were about to order another drink when a familiar red head entered the guild and made her way to Master Makarov.
"Ahh Erza, the mission went well I hope?"
"It went fine. No complications of any kind," she said getting a nod of approval from Makarov. She glanced over and Saw Naruto, Levi and Cana and made her way over.
"Hey Erza," Naruto said as she took the seat next to him to which she responded by giving him a warm smile.
"Hello Naruto, how are you today?" she asked to which he said back
"I'm good. Been training and sparing with Natsu mostly."
Erza nodded and looked around not spotting the resident pink haired Dragon Slayer. "Where is Natsu anyway?" She asked.
Naruto chuckled a little before pointing to the back door. "He and Gray are having their daily tussle."
Erza looked at him with a small tick mark forming. "Why didn't you stop them?" she asked a little annoyed.
"Well you're the only person the two listens to. Plus that's your job to stop those two." Erza sighed and shook her head.
"Very well ill go stop the two idiots she said before walking out the backdoor. But I expect strawberry cheesecake as payment."
"Yes Mam," he said giving her a salute
Naruto turned his head to see Levi and Cana staring at him. "What?" He asked
"You could have stopped the fight but you just wanted them too fear Erza didn't you?" Levi asked. Naruto just shrugged.
"I don't know what you're talking about Levi" he said but with a small devious smile. The two girls laughed and could only send their prayers to the poor two boys.
Outside
Naruto and Gray had moved from the guild and somehow ended up fighting in the middle of South Gate Park with a small audience of civilians watching the two boys with interest.
"I'll show you Natsu," roared with his right hand cocked back.
"Let see you try," Gray shouted back as he cocked his left hand back.
The two began exchanging punch's left and right knocking each other through a loop and back.
The two charged again before their heads clashed against each other both glaring at each other.
"Flame wielding Freak,"
"Walking Snowman,"
"Enough," a voice a called out before two hands got between the two and knocked them both back.
"That's enough out of you two," Erza said glaring down at the two boys.
The two boys stood back up and shook their heads out of the daze they were in.
"Hey mind your own business for once," Gray complained.
"Yeah you want a piece of me too you jerk?" Natsu shot back at the girl in front of him.
Both boys stood next to each other and charged at Erza with their fists cocked back. "Take this.," they both yelled while Erza shook her head.
"You two never learn," she muttered.
CLUNK!
Both Gray and Natsu were on the floor with stars in their eyes with each now sporting a giant bump on their heads.
"Now behave and no more pointless fighting," Erza said as she held her hands on her hips and walked off back to the guild.
"You just got lucky," Gray muttered.
"I'll get you next time," Natsu whispered.
Erza just shook her head and continued walking away.
Back to the Guild
Erza strolled back into the guild and looked at the direction of Naruto, Levi and Cana and made her way back over to the table where she saw a big piece of Strawberry shortcake waiting for her. Her eyes immediate twinkled like stars.
"I always keep my promises," Naruto said pushing the cake towards Erza. "Enjoy."
Erza didn't need to be told twice before she started shovelling the cake down her throat while the other three were looking at her while shaking their heads.
"She's almost as bad as Naruto is with Ramen," Cana said.
"Yeah I guess s- Hey wait a minute I'm not that bad," Naruto responded pouting.
Both younger girls and Erza who had paused from eating her cake at him with their eyebrows raised and looking at him incredulously.
Naruto huffed and pouted turning his head away from the girls causing the girl to giggle at his reaction.
"No matter the situation he always found a way to make people laugh," the three thought before Erza returned to her cake and Cana and Levi went back to talking.
Naruto looked back and a small smile formed on his face. "I guess they do have a point."
Naruto then began to chuckle as he saw Gray walk in sporting a giant bump on his head. Gray scowled before saying "not a word."
East Forest
Natsu huffed as he continued to punch a tree with the faces of Erza, Gray and Naruto which were drawn on.
"Stupid Gray, Stupid Erza, Stupid Naruto. You guys stink," he shouted while continuing to punch the three pictures. Natsu then walked back before charging at the tree and delivered a powerful punch which scared off all the birds in the trees.
Natsu grabbed his hand as pain began to shoot through it. "That didn't hurt at all," he moaned before a large object crashed down on top of his head.
"Ow what the heck?" he complained before he looked at what fell on him. In front of him was a large egg with blue patterns decorating it.
A huge smile plastered across Natsu's face where he then grabbed the giant egg and made is way back to the guild, running at full sprint.
Back to the Guild
Hey guys Natsu shouted out causing everyone to look over at him as Natsu made his way to Master Makarov.
"When in the blazed did you find that Natsu?" Makarov asked from his spot on the bar.
"I found it in the East Forest," Natsu said.
"The East Forest?" Makarov muttered while Naruto made his way over the Natsu and the egg.
"That's quite the egg you have their Natsu. How did you come across it?" Naruto asked, genuinely intrigued by the giant egg Natsu had.
"I was punching a tree when it just fell out."
"Well I guess you are good after all," Gray said sitting by a nearby table. "You going to fry it up for us?"
"Gray your clothes," Cana muttered causing the boy to freak out and look around for his clothes.
"I'm not gonna fry this," Natsu shouted. "Can't you see this is a dragon's egg. I'm going to hatch it".
"You sure?" Cana asked not fully believing that it was a dragon egg.
"Of course it is. Look at the markings, they look like dragons claws."
"Naruto what do you think? Is it a dragon's egg?" Gray said looking at said boy.
Naruto scratched the back of his head. "I'm not sure. I have never seen a dragon's egg before so I can't really say. You never know, it could be for all we know."
"So Gramps why don't you hatch the dragon egg with a spell," Natsu said causing Makarov to frown.
"Don't be a fool. Using magic for such a purpose would dishonor the miracle of life. Life is born from love and love alone. No spell can transcend that power," Makarov said while Natsu had a confused look on his face. Naruto however could only smile as he thought of his parents and their love for him.
"Uhhh sorry Gramps but I don't think I'm following you," Natsu said causing Makarov to sigh in annoyance.
"You will understand when you grow up."
"He saying if you want it to hatch then you will have to work hard on your own," Erza chimed in as she made her way over to the small group. "Since you usually burn and break things all day it might be nice to try something more productive for once."
"She has a point Natsu," Naruto said. "If you want this egg to hatch, you have to be prepared to take the responsibility of looking after it."
"I'll take good care of this egg," Natsu roared with confidence causing Naruto and Makarov to grin at his confidence.
"Hey Erza," a voice called out. Every turned their heads to see Mira and her siblings walking over to them, Lisanna going to stand by Natsu and Elfman sitting on a table next to them.
"Why don't we pick up where we left off? Come and get some," she said.
"Mira," Erza said with a smirk. "Now that you mention it we never did finish off from our last fight." The girls glared at each other as the room temperature began to drop.
"Here they go again," everyone muttered, the two girls oblivious to what was going on around them.
The two girls shouted at each other as they both began to charge at one another.
"I'm going to bury you alive."
"I'll make you beg for mercy."
The girls began to fight furiously across the guild as tables and chairs were being thrown around like crazy as some of the other members of Fairy Tail were trying their best to get out of the girls paths. The two girls eventually met in the middle of the guild gripping each other's hands as they were in dead lock trying to pus the other back while shouting out taunts.
"You like showing of your love handles,"
"Thunder thighs,"
"You ugly prude,"
"You witch,"
"Way to keep it classy girls," Cana muttered as she watched the two girls.
"Oh and they say were bad yet they both can wreck the guild whenever they want," Gray said frowning.
"Shouldn't you stop them?" Gray said glancing at Naruto who look at Gray is disbelief.
"Gray here is some words of advice. Never get in middle of two girls fighting. It might just be the last thing you ever do," he said causing a shiver to run up Gray's spine.
"One of these days I'm going to give those to a beating of a lifetime," Natsu muttered while cracking his knuckles.
"Ahh give me a break. Keep up the tough guy act and you will never get the girls to like you," Lisanna said with a sweet smile on her face. Natsu blushed a little, which didn't go unnoticed by Naruto who was mentally smirking.
"Would you like me to help you raise the egg?" Lisanna asked causing Natsu to beam at her.
"Really you mean it?" he asked to which Lisanna nodded.
"Okay so how do we make it hatch?" Natsu asked.
"Well we have to keep it warm," Lisanna said.
"Then it looks like I'm the right man for the job," he said as he began to shoot fire over the egg.
"Are you stupid?" Gray shouted as he kicked Natsu away from the egg.
"We're not trying to poach the egg Natsu," Naruto groaned at Natsu.
"Oh Natsu," Lisanna said shaking her head.
"Let my magic take of this," she said as a magic seal appeared and Lisanna turned into a giant bird and wrapped herself around the egg.
Elfman looked over and sighed sadly. "Even Lisanna can do a full body takeover and I still can't."
"Come on Natsu lets go look after our egg," Lisanna cheered as she grabbed Natsu's hand and the two ran out of the guild.
Naruto watched the two run out of the guild and looked over towards the master. "I'm going to watch over those two. You never know what kind of trouble Natsu might get himself in to."
Makarov looked over at nodded. "Do what you feel it necessary," he said as Naruto walked after the two, narrowly avoiding Erza and Mira's path of destruction.
Outskirts of the East Forest
"Isn't this the best house ever!" Natsu shouted as he looked at the giant pile of rocks toppled on top of each other with a small hole for entry on the front.
"Yeah pretty awesome," Lisanna said with a sweat drop before watching the house/rubble come crashing down.
"I guess awesomeness doesn't count for everything huh?" Natsu said looking at the rubble.
"Let me try," Lisanna said as another magic circle appeared around her and she turned into a giant purple rabbit. She immediately started getting to work with huge batches of straw as Natsu looked on.
"So cool," he said gazing in front of him. After about twenty minutes Lisanna stepped away from the small building and presented it to Natsu.
"Ta dah," Lisanna said as she presented a newly built little straw house
"Woh nice job Lisanna," Natsu said making the girl blush at the praise.
The two then went inside the little straw house. "Wow it's pretty roomy in here," Natsu said.
"It sort of like were a family now," Lisanna said.
Natsu looked at her with an eyebrow raised. "How do you figure?"
"Well I'm the mommy, you're the daddy and the egg is like our baby that hasn't been born yet."
"I guess that doesn't sound so bad," Natsu said shyly as he began to blush as did Lisanna.
Up in the tree's Naruto sat and watched the two with a smile across his face, happy to see Natsu and Lisanna having so much fun together.
Next day- Back at the Guild
"You kidding me," Laxus said as scoffed at Macao and Wakaba. "A dragon's egg? Don't tell me you believe in all that garbage?
"Well Natsu and Naruto were apparently both raised by dragons so why not," Macao said back to the sixteen year old.
"Give them a break. Apparent little Lisanna built a little house for her and Natsu to raise the egg," Wakaba said chuckling.
"Awwwww that's so cute. Puppy Love."
Smash!
Both Wakaba and Macao jumped back as a very annoyed looking Mira destroyed the table in front of them.
"What's the hecks your problem?" Wakaba asked to the girl.
"Can't you just act like a normal teenager for once?"
"I knew something was wrong when she didn't stop by the guild," Mira said shaking slightly. "So she has been hanging out with Natsu has she? SHE CAN'T BE FRIENDS WITH SOMEONE FROM TEAM ERZA!" She roared out causing the two older men to sweat drop.
"Chill out jeez," Wakaba said.
"Stop worrying Mira," Master said walking over to her. "Lisanna is fine."
"But why is she with Natsu? We both know he always seems to runs into some kind of trouble. I don't want her getting caught up in that."
"Do not worry, Natsu may be hot headed at time but I'm sure with Lisanna with him, she will rein him in. Plus Naruto is there, so they are safe."
"Naruto's there too?" she said not expecting that.
"He had the same worries as you do. He knows how Natsu can be at times. So he is watching over them from a distance. Making sure they are okay."
Mira bit her lip. Knowing Naruto was with her did calm her nerves but she couldn't help but worry.
"I'm going to join him. Just to be sure," she said a she ran out of the guild.
Makarov watched her run off until he let out a sigh. "Damn teenagers."
With Naruto
Naruto watched Lisanna and Natsu from atop of the trees as the two made their way t their little house. Natsu was carrying the egg as Lisanna was chatting away at him to his right. Both kids looked very happy next to each other.
"So this is where you found the egg?" Lisanna said as she gazed at the giant tree in front of them.
"Yep. It just fell right out," Natsu said back.
Naruto smiled as he listened in on the two's conversation. He was lucky Natsu had not discovered him yet from his smell but with Lisanna and the egg, he could only think that Lisanna and the eggs presence were taking his main attention.
Snap!
Naruto looked behind him and was surprised to see Mira standing at the bottom of the tree he was sitting in and looking up at him. "Hey Mira, what you doing here?"
"Master said you were watching over Natsu and Lisanna so I thought I would help out."
Naruto smiled and said "Sure, the more the merrier I guess. You need help up?" he asked but Mira shook her head.
A small magic circle appeared and Mira's demon wings shot out from her back and flew up to the branch he was sitting on and sat on the spot next to him.
"So what have they been doing so far?" She asked
"They've just been hanging out so far and looking after the egg. I take you were told about the little house Lisanna made for them." Mira gritted her teeth but nodded, not liking it one bit.
"Why don't you like Natsu hanging out with Lisanna anyway?" he asked.
"Why do you think? He's hot headed, where ever he goes he either brakes something or its get completely destroyed. All he does is want to fight and he's messy. That's not the kind of person I want her hanging around with."
Naruto frowned. "Well I'll admit he's hot headed, does tend to break things, can be a little messy and does like a good fight but there's nothing wrong with that. He is just very free spirited in a sense. Plus if you hadn't noticed Lisanna seems to make him happy."
"And why would you know that?" Mira asked glaring slightly sat Naruto who just smiled back.
"Because in the 6 months I have been at Fairy Tail I have not seen Natsu smile as much as he has these past two days with Lisanna."
Mira was about to speak before Naruto interrupted her. "Also I think Lisanna enjoys being with Natsu. He brings out that fun side of her. Not saying she isn't to begin with, but Natsu just has that way with people that bring out the best in them. Just leave the two be for now."
Many thoughts were going through Mira's head as she looked over at Natsu and Lisanna. She couldn't help but admit the two did seem happy being with each other and Lisanna had the biggest smile Mira had ever seen on her before. Mira let out a sigh.
"Fine" she said.
"Thank you," Naruto responded back as the two fell into a comfortable silence.
With Natsu and Lisanna
The two kids were happily talking to each other when the ground began to shake slightly. Both Natsu and Lisanna looked around until they saw a giant Forest Vulcan making their way towards them.
The giant Vulcan looked down at the two before groaning out "Egg. Give me egg boy."
"Fat chance you over grown monkey," Natsu shouted as he handed the egg over to Lisanna.
"Stay back Lisanna. I can handle this," Natsu said as he charged at the Vulcan.
With Naruto and Mirajane
As soon as the Vulcan was spotted making its way over to Natsu and Lisanna Mira immediately began to power her magic up before a hand grasped her shoulder.
"What are you doing? We have to stop it from hurting themm" Mira said angrily while Naruto shook his head.
"No. Look at Natsu eyes. That's determination I see in his eyes. He won't be beat by that overgrown monkey. He's protecting the egg and Lisanna. This is his fight. If things start to get out of hand, then we will jump in and stop them. Until then we will watch."
Mira frowned and gritted her teeth together. She didn't like it bit she knew Natsu must be strong enough to at least take down one forest Vulcan.
"Fine, but like you said the second things get out of hand, we are going in. Understood?"
"Understood," he replied back.
With Natsu and Lisanna
Natsu charged and punched the Vulcan square in the stomach and began punching the Vulcan all over, only for the Vulcan to laugh at his attempts.
"That tickles," the Vulcan said before slapping Natsu away and in to a nearby tree.
"Natsu let me help," Lisanna called out but Natsu shook his head.
"No just stay back."
"But why?"
"Because I'm the dad and I have to protect my family. Besides I'm just getting warmed up."
Natsu charged again only to keep getting slapped back by the Vulcan.
Lisanna looked over to Natsu and shouted "NATSU USE YOUR MAGIC!"
"If this monkey is going to fight with his fists then that's how I'm going to beat him too."
"I'd like to see you try," the Vulcan taunted.
"You better stop talking and start fighting or I'm going to paint you white and send you back to Mount Hakobe," Natsu taunted causing a tick mark to form on the Vulcan.
The Vulcan jumped high in the air bring down its giant fist on top of Natsu, only for Natsu to block by crossing his two arms. Despite this Natsu was still sent hurdling back. Natsu hit the tree but used the momentum to quickly shoot of the tree right back towards the Vulcan. Natsu sailed at high speed right towards the Vulcan and delivered a devastating head butt to the Vulcan's head knocking the Vulcan clean out.
"You did it," Lisanna said jumping for joy as Natsu slowly made his way up.
"Told you so," he said giving Lisanna thumbs up.
With Naruto and Mirajane
Both Naruto and Mirajane looked on impressed, even if only Naruto showed it at Natsu's fight with the Vulcan. Natsu actually did it Mira muttered silently. Mir now had a bit of respect for the pink haired boy for not giving up and protecting her sister.
"Told you so," Naruto said grinning back at Mira. "Natsu has got stronger these six months. This fight has shown it."
"He may have gotten a bit stronger but still we should have interfered and stopped the fight quickly. We could have finished it in seconds."
Naruto shook his head. "True we could have but Mira there are things you have to realise." Mira eyebrows lifted up, listening intently to Naruto's words.
"I know Lisanna is your sister and you want to be there to always protect her. But you have to understand, you can't be in two places at once. There will come a day when Lisanna and Natsu are going to have to defend themselves. They have to learn to protect themselves and the people around them. If I or you kept fighting for them, then they will always expect us to do so and they won't use their own strength. They are both incredibly strong but the more we baby them, the less independent they will be. Today was a learning experience for them."
Mira sat their silently as took in Naruto's words. He was right and she knew that. But Lisanna and Elfman were the only family she had left and she be damned if anyone dared to take them away from her. But they both needed to rely on their own strength. She would not always be there to protect them both.
Mira then looked up at Naruto. "Why do you treat Natsu like he is a little brother?" she asked only for Naruto to smile back.
"I have never known what it's like to have siblings and the relationship I have with Natsu is the closest I have to one being that of a sibling relationship," Naruto said not wanting to mention Sasuke in any way, shape or form. "Natsu remind me a lot of myself when I was younger. Hot headed, loud, dumb as a post," he said getting a giggle out of Mira.
"But he has heart and determination. It's not just Natsu I look at as siblings, but Gray, Elfman, Cana, Levi, everyone. You are all the closest thing I have ever had to a real family in the six months I have been a part of Fairy Tail."
Mira looked at Naruto in a whole new light. What she saw wasn't a strong, cute, cocky mage that she first came to believe. He was someone who would put everything on the line to protect the people around him and those he cared for. Mira had to fight back a blush ass she looked into his sapphire coloured eyes.
"Now then we bet-"
Snap!
Before Naruto could finish talking the branch that was holding the two up snap from underneath them causing the two to fall to the ground. When the two opened their eyes they looked at the position that they were in.
Naruto was lying flat on his back against the earth as Mira laid on top of him both hands on his chest, along with their legs being entwined together.
"Kami his chest is so solid," Mira thought as was fighting back another blush. Naruto was in a similar state.
"She smells so nice. Like Lavender and wild flowers mixed together. And her eyes are so pretty," he thought.
"Urm Mira," Naruto finally spoke up. "Could you maybe get off me please?"
Now both Mira and Naruto had blushes spread across their face as Mira quickly got off of Naruto. The two slowly began to slow up.
There was an awkward silence before Mira spoke up. "We should go follow Natsu and Lisanna."
"I agree. Let's go," Naruto said as the two immediately followed after the two.
With Natsu and Lisanna
Natsu and Lisanna sprinted towards the little house as the rain began to pour down. Just as they got to the house Lisanna stopped Natsu hold on Natsu. "Let me go in first, then you follow when I call out" she said as she ran inside the house leaving a confused Natsu in the rain.
After a few second a she called out "come in" to which Natsu did.
"Hello dear how was your day?" she asked playfully.
"Urm it was fine honey," Natsu said not completely understanding what was going on.
"Hey Natsu you live alone right?" Lisanna asked to which Natsu nodded. "Would you like me to cook for you sometime?"
"Really you would? Natsu said excitedly.
"Sure, but I'm not as good as my sister," she said which causing Natsu to panic a little.
"Mira cooks?" he said to which Lisanna nodded. "Does Elfman cook too?"
"Of course he does," she said to which Natsu began imagining Elfman in a kitchen.
"Yeah I can believe that," he said causing Lisanna to giggle.
"Hey Natsu maybe one day I could be your real wife," she said sweetly causing Natsu to blush like a tomato.
"What got you thinking about that?" he asked to which Lisanna starting swooning a little.
"I just noticed how strong and kind you are, and how good you are with kids." Natsu began stuttering before Lisanna giggled a little. "What are you getting so embarrassed about, I was only making a joke."
Before Natsu could respond a bright light shone in their faces as the two looked at the sky to see the sun setting.
"Wow how pretty," Lisanna said while Natsu had smile across his face looking at the sun.
"I wish we could stay like this forever."
With Naruto and Mira
The two stood at the edge of the forest, a little ways away from the small house but just enough to see the two in the distant. Both Mira and Naruto were also glancing at the sun as it was setting.
"It's so beautiful," Mira said as she watch the sun set.
"Yeah it is," Naruto said not looking at the sun but at Mira. The sunlight hitting Mira making her look even more beautiful than before. Naruto fought off a blush as she turned and looked at him.
"What do we do now?"
Keep watching over them. "It looks like they going to be sleeping their tonight, so I'm gonna stick around. You can go if you like," Naruto said but Mira shook her head.
"Its fine, two sets of eyes are better than one after all," to which Naruto nodded. Naruto leaned up against the tree as he tried to get himself comfortable. Mira took the seat next to him and both watched as the day became the night. The two looked up at the stars before the two nodded to sleep.
Next morning
Naruto and Mira slept peacefully as the two leaned back against a tree with Mira's heading leaning slightly on to Naruto's shoulder.
"AHHHHHHH," two sets of scream sounded the area causing both Naruto and Mira to wake up.
"Where's the egg?" Lisanna shouted before both she and Natsu took off back to the guild.
"Come on, we best get back to the guild," to which Mira nodded and the sprinted off to the guild.
At the guild
Naruto and Mira made it back just in time before Natsu came charging in with Lisanna, causing the attention to be put on him.
"Who stole it?" Natsu shouted. "Who stole the egg?"
"We told you, we don't want the stupid egg," Gray muttered.
"I don't know anything about it," Cana said innocently.
"Laxus was it you?" Laxus just scoffed.
"Okay Erza out with it already."
"Now now don't jump to conclusions. It wasn't me," she said.
"Sorry I don't know," Levi said as Natsu was eyeing her.
"What about you Mira. Do you know where it went?"
"Nope can't say I have," she said crossing her arms.
"Admit it Natsu you ate it didn't you?" she said causing the boy to fume and start trying to pick a fight with her.
"These kid are so noisy," Wakaba said frowning. "I don't want to think what the guild will be like in a few years."
"They only fight because they acknowledge each other's strength and when they see each other in one another; it makes them stride to improve," Makarov said wisely.
"Just give me my egg back," Natsu said.
"Aww look at you crying," Mira said teasingly.
"I'm not crying" Natsu yelled.
"Mira stop teasing him," Naruto said causing the girl to shrug.
Mira and Erza began to argue again as Lisanna began to shed tear. "Poor egg."
"Hey sorry guys," a voice said causing everyone to turn around and see Elfman standing there carrying the egg.
"Hey why did you take the egg?" Natsu roared.
"Sorry, I didn't mean too,"" Elfman said. "But when I came to check on you both last night you get moving around and the egg was getting cold. So I brought it with me and I kept it warm with my body heat."
"Oh I get it now," said Natsu now smiling.
"Thank you Elfman" Lisanna said giving him a hug.
"That was real nice of you Elfman," Naruto said patting the boy on the shoulder. Elfman just rubbed the back of his head, a little embarrassed at the praised he was getting.
"No problem, oh I won't tell anyone about you and Mira snuggling up next to each other nearby either," he said causing both Naruto and Mira who was listening in to blush.
Mira stormed up to Elfman and grabbed him by the ear and began threatening what she would do to him if he told anyone what he saw.
Just as everyone began talking a crack sounded through the hall. Everyone looked over to see the egg beginning to hatch.
"Its hatching," Lisanna said causing everyone to gather around it. Everyone watched as the egg cracked away and small blue light lit up the area. Before long the light died down and took the form of a small blue cat.
"ITS A FREAKIN CAT!" everyone said aloud as the cat flew down and sat on top of Natsu's head.
"THE CAT HAS WINGS!" everyone shouted again.
The cat looked up at everyone before saying aloud "AYE!"
"He is so adorable," Lisanna shouted with anyone nodding along.
Naruto stood back as he watched the scene unfold as everyone came up to pet the cat who Natsu had promptly called Happy.
Naruto looked around the guild to see Natsu and Lisanna with happy in Natsu's arms, Elfman, Cana and Gray were talking next to them and surprisingly Erza and Mira seemed to be having a friendly chat.
"Happy the Dragon", Natsu yelled.
"He's a cat idiot," Mira shouted in annoyance.
Reedus who was sitting in the corner looked over and began to paint a big portrait of the new events. The picture had Natsu flying a top a dragon version of Happy as Lisanna, Levi, Cana, Gray and Elfman stood on his right and left while Erza stood on the far left with her arms folded and Laxus standing behind her now really looking in any direction. While Mira sat on a bench and Naruto stood next to her, neither noticing that their hands were only a finger tip away from touching.
That day the entire guild decided to throw a party to celebrate the birth of Happy and induct him as a new member to the guild. Natsu and Lisanna thought a party was a great idea before the whole guild went into party mode. Naruto leaned against a wooden beam as he looked at his new family. In all his life Naruto could not remember ever being this happy before. He took another glance at everyone before he decided to make his way outside for some fresh air. Unknown to him two pairs of eyes were watching him.
Outside
Naruto walked along the beach, taking his shoes off and enjoying the feeling of the sand in between his toes. He sat down making himself comfortable on the sand as looked up at the sky and saw how big the moon was that night.
"Beautiful," he said.
"Yes it is," came a voice behind him and saw Makarov make his way over to him and sat beside him.
"You look troubled my boy. By the look on your face I take some bad memories?"
"Something like that," Naruto responded.
"You know you don't have to keep it bottled up Naruto. I or anyone else will listen. "
Naruto bit his lip. "My past is something very few would ever believe. In fact it borders on the downright insane at first."
Makarov looked at Naruto with his eyebrows raised. "Try me," he said.
Naruto took a deep breath. "If I tell you my past, can please keep it to yourself. It's not something I want many people knowing right now. I will tell them in time, but until then can you please keep this to yourself."
Makarov sat in silence for a few second before agreeing. "You have my word."
"I'm not originally from this world," Naruto said causing Makarov's eyes to go as wide as dinner plates. "I come from a world known as the Elemental Nations."
"I guess you could say it's another dimension. In that world we don't have mages, bit instead have Ninja. Instead of Magic we have chakra. Chakra is the mixture of physical and spiritual energies which allows us to use jutsu. "You could say it's similar to magic but instead of magic seals you have hand signs. You with me so far?" Makarov nodded signalling Naruto to continue.
"When I was born into that world, my village, Konohagakure no Sato, was attacked by a demon known as the Nine Tailed Demon Fox, who was being controlled. You see, my mother, Kushina Uzumaki, was the previous container of the fox. When she had given birth to me, a madman named Madara had come, taking me hostage and freeing the Kyuubi. My father, Minato Namikaze, the leader, had saved me, but now had to deal with a possessed fox demon. He destroyed much of the village and killed a lot of people. My father had fought him until his death, which was done by sacrificing to our world's death god and sealed the Kyuubi into me. I was left as an orphan."
Makarov looked at Naruto in disbelief as he continued. "When the previous leader of the village, the third Hokage retook his place, he made the mistake of telling the entire village of what I contained. When I was able to walk, I was either beaten, burned, poisoned, nearly assassinated, and many other things."
"As the years went by, I had made 'friends' in the academy, but I was known as the dead-last, the dope. I hated it, especially when I was assigned my genie team. I had a pink banshee for a teammate who didn't give a damn about me, an emo who thought he was Kami himself because he was an 'elite'. I went on missions around the world, making real friends outside the village, saving countries, just the normal ninja stuff for me. That would change thought when Sasuke had defected to Orochimaru, an evil madman who was more monster than man wanted to get immortality and all the jutsu in the world."
"When I went to bring him back he stabbed me in the chest with a lightning encased fist." Naruto stood up and took off his shirt showing his scars off to the world. Makarov's face changed to one of utmost horror as he stared at the scar that was only a little above his heart.
"My god," he whispered before Naruto put his shirt back on and continued the story. "After a three year trip with my sensei Jiraiya the Toad Sage, I had engaged in a war against Akatsuki, an organization lead by Madara, whose goal was to collect all of the jinchuriki me included, and extract the biju and rule the world. It went on for a hell of a while, and it came down to the Fourth Great Shinobi War."
"Many good people lost their lives. During the war myself and the fox, which I discovered was named Kurama came up with a truce in order to finally end the war once and for all. After a long and gruelling battle in which I was finally able to defeat Sasuke, the final battle came. Myself against Madara Uchiha. The battle was long and gruesome, neither one of us refused to stay down and before long I began to tire. It was then that I realised that I wasn't going to make it out alive. So I and the fox sacrificed ourselves in order to rid the world of Madara Uchiha once and for all, and finally bring about a new age of peace for the Elemental Nations."
Makarov continued to listen not wanting to interrupt a single part of the story. He could see that the boy was struggling to talk about this, that being a sign that he was telling nothing but the truth.
"When I woke up, I met Kami herself," he said shocking Makarov to the core.
"Y-You met Kami?" Makarov whispered. "Wait a minute. Kami's a girl?"
Naruto chuckled. "Yeah I was a little surprised as well. I was in a place called Purgatory. A sort of in between life and death. There I was reunited with my mom and dad" he said smiling causing Makarov to smile as well. "It was there that I finally saw the truth in the people I thought I could call my friends. She showed me Konoha just after the war ended and saw them celebrating. I naturally assumed they were celebrating the end of the war." Makarov nodded.
"However they weren't celebrating that. They were celebrating the fact that I died" causing Makarov's eyes to go wide again. "They were so happy they didn't have to see the demon brat again that the entire village had a party. Even the people I thought were my friends were bad mouthing me saying how great it would be now that I was gone." Now Naruto had tear gliding down his cheek as he struggled to keep talking.
Makarov saw this and embraced Naruto in a grandfatherly hug, letting Naruto unleash all the emotions he kept bottled up. "That is quite a story you have Naruto. One of great pain and great sacrifice."
"Naruto I have a spell that allows me to look at someone's memories. It's an old spell that very few can use but if what you say is true, I need to see it for myself." Naruto looked a little sceptical at first but nodded. If it helped Makarov believe him then okay, but he hoped he was prepared for what he saw.
Makarov placed a hand on Naruto's head and whispered Memory Magic Past Viewing Technique. For five minutes everything was silent Makarov's face not changing. That was until Makarov removed his hand and embraced Naruto again letting his own tears stroll down his aged cheeks.
"How could anyone be so cruel," Makarov whispered. "How can anyone be so cold hearted. My boy I could never imagine how you managed to survive any of that, or how you found the drive to keep going. But I want you to know, that you have Fairy Tail now. You have a family who WILL stand by your side no matter what. We care for you and we will never hurt you like those people have. You are safe with us."
Naruto looked at Makarov and nodded gratefully. "Thanks Gramps you don't know how happy I am to here that." Makarov nodded.
"I will keep this a secret and I will share with no one unless I have your permission to do so."
After a few more minutes Makarov left to go back inside, still clearly shaken at the events he had to see.
It was when he left that Naruto called out. "Alright come on out. I know you were listening."
At first nothing happened but before long a small figure showed herself from behind a rock revealing it to be Cana. Naruto could see she had been crying as her eyes were all puffy and red and tears.
Naruto's eyes softened as he opened his arms. Seeing him open his arms, Cana ran and hugged Naruto fiercely as she began to sob and cry her eyes out. Naruto held Cana protectively and let her cry.
After five minutes Cana spoke up. "I'm sorry I was listening but I wanted to see where you had wandered off too and I saw you and master talking and I was curious."
"It's okay Cana" he muttered softly comforting the girl. "I don't mind you knowing but I need you to keep it a secret. I don't really want many people knowing right now."
Cana nodded. "Please know that you're not alone anymore," she said hugging him fiercely.
"Please know that if you need anything or if you just want to talk you can ask me. Since your part of Fairy Tail we are family now and family look after each other. From now on you're my brother and I'm your sister," she said with a determined look in her eyes showing how serious she was.
"We are family now."
Naruto had a shocked look on his face but it softened when Cana took his hand and was taking him back to the guild.
"Thank you Cana," he said bending down slightly and kissing her on the forehead. Cana smiled and two made their way back to Fairy Tail.
"Hey Naruto, want to know a secret? Since I know your maybe you should know mine."
"Sure why not. After all a brother and sister shouldn't keep secrets from each other." Cana smiled, liking being called Naruto's little sister. "You wwill be the first person I ever told. Not even master knows."
"So what's the secret?"
"You know Gildarts?" she said to which Naruto nodded.
"He's my dad."
