CHAPTER 7
3rd September 1966
Lily's POV:
"I've already told you guys that I-" Oh no here we go again…
"Lily, it's okay. You're alright." I open my eyes to Emma's soothing voice. All four Marauders staring down at me.
"What happened?" I ask rubbing my head.
"You fainted but don't worry you don't have a concussion or anything James caught you before your head hit the ground."
"Oh, uh thank Po-James."
"No problem." He smiles.
"So, will you join the band?" Sirius asks he seems very impatient.
"She just fainted and you're really asking her to join the band right now?" Emma may be shy but when it comes to her friends you don't mess around.
"Ooo okay don't get your knickers in a twist Milly."
"Not the time for nicknames." Emma glares at him.
"What? You don't like it? I can change it-"
"Enough." I interrupt before this idiotic conversation can go any further and I get up onto my feet.
"So, Lily will you join the band?"
"Yes." The word jumps out of my mouth before I have time to catch it. There's a celebratory sound of whoops from the boys and Emma claps.
"But I'm going to be on a one-month trial period just to see how things work out."
"Yeah sure. Our next session is tomorrow at 6. Can you come?" Remus tells me.
"Yeah I should be able to." I respond.
"Alright. Awesome! See you then and we'll start working out everything." James says.
"Yeah sure. Bye guys." I walk off with Emma and I hear a chorus of, "Bye" from the boys.
"Emma! How do you do that?"
"Who said I did anything?" she asks me innocently.
"Don't act dumb."
"Fine. I just think this will be really good for you. You'll get to share your passion with other people. You'll get grow an discover more things about music. Plus, I want people to know how talented you are I knew you weren't ever going to agree, and you would regret so now you're in. I'm so excited for you!"
I pull her into a hug because I know she needs one and I'm so thankful she knows me so well.
James's POV:
LILY EVANS JUST AGREED TO JOIN OUR BAND! THIS IS NOT REAL! IT CANNOT BE!
"Well I guess we found our female singer. That would easier than anticipated." Remus pulls me out of my trance.
"You're telling me that actually happened?!"
"Yes Prongs, calm down. You weren't wrong about her talent though, she is incredible." Sirius joins in.
"Are we still going to play my songs?" I ask nervously.
"Prongs we're going to have to they're the best ones." Remus says seriously.
"But they're nearly all about her…"
"Yeah believe me we know but I don't think she'll be able to tell so don't worry about it." Sirius reassures me.
We then decide what we're going to play for her so she can get a taste for our music.
4th September 1966
Lily's POV:
I'm freaking out! Why did I agree to do this? I can't do this! This is going to be a complete disaster! Is it bad if I leave the band just as quick as I joined? Probably…I can at least try. You never know until you try is what grandma always says. Her advice is usually always right so I better follow it.
I arrive at the door and knock. I slowly open it hearing the sound of instruments: a tuning guitar, a soft melodic keyboard, the beat of drums and the thrum of a bass.
Peter notices me first behind the drum kit, "Hey Lily."
"Hi boys."
They respond in sync with, "Hey."
"So, Lily we thought we would play you one of our songs." James says.
"Alright. Sounds good." I take a seat on the brown leather sofa situated at the back wall.
Remus steps away from the keyboard and Sirius passes him the bass, he must switch between the two. Sirius is playing lead guitar and James is singing lead also playing guitar with Peter on drums.
"She sits at home with the lights out

They stop playing. I start clapping, "Wow. That was amazing! How come more people don't know about the band? You guys would be great for entertainment."
"I guess we just wanted to take as seriously as possible and work out everything to make sure everything is perfect. That was one of the first songs where we thought we could be successful." James explains.
"Well it was absolutely incredible. I really loved it! Did you all write it?"
"Thank you. It was mainly Remus and James that wrote it." Sirius says, "Okay so we've been working on this song and I think it really needs a female voice…"
