Chapter 15

Ash and Lillie are now at the Hau'oli City's Festival Stadium, they see that 12 people has participated in the festival and Ash turns to Lillie, "Looks like we got quite an amount of trainers to join in this kind of activity."

"Yeah. I wonder how will it go..." Lillie says. "You know, I am getting a little nervous."

"Don't be, just act like ourselves and it will be fine." Ash assures her, causing her to smile a little.

While Lillie and Nurse Joy, who Ash asks to be a part of the judge, are sitting at the tables as judges, Ash has to be both the judge and the announcer. As the audiences are now at the seat, Ash, who is wearing a mask and a formal suit, he says, "Welcome everyone to the first competition of the Island Festival, I am your host, Satoshi."

As the crowd cheers at the host, Nurse Joy turns to Lillie, who is also wearing a mask, "Why are you two wearing masks?"

Lillie says, "We don't want the crowd to know who we are, so we need to disguise ourselves."

Ash continues, "Today marks the first Island Festival in the history, and as the host, let me explain the rules. As you can see, we have contracted with the founder of the Performances to put the first round, which is the theme round, and we have also contracted with the founder of the Contests, so the final rounds will be the battle rounds. Due to Alola not having either one of them, so we decide to make them a reality here."

After the break, Ash goes back to be the host and says, "Sorry for the waiting, now that we are here, the next round is going to be the Battle Rounds, like the Contests, we want the contestants to show off their Pokémon's style and skill. Each battle lasts five minutes and the object of the battle is to decrease the opponent's points. Contestants lose points when their Pokémon are hit by an attack, when their Pokémon's attack fails, when the opponent's Pokémon performs a particularly appealing move, or when the opponent's Pokémon uses their Pokémon's attack to its own advantage. A battle can also end when one of the Pokémon is unable to battle, called Battle Off by the judges. In this case, the Contestant with the remaining Pokémon is declared the winner. Which will be the Syling Sticker!"

After Ash shows them the sticker, they are in awe at the sight. Then they start calling the contestants to the stage. First one is Elio battling against a girl, and the way Elio battles with his Rowlet, its Leafage cover Peck combo causes them to look in awe. And for the second round, Moon's Persian uses a lot of tricks to knock out the other contestant's Pokemon, making the two of them battle against each other in the end. And in the final round, the two of them fight really great, but in the end, Elio's Mighteya manages to have more points than Moon, causing him to be the winner.

"Now we have a winner, congratulations to Elio." Ash says, the two contestants shake hands and then Ash rewards him with the Sticker.

In the backstage, Moon calls Ash and asks him, "Since we need to get 8 of them in order to get to the Grand Celebration...how long will we be able to have another kind of this festival?"

Ash smiles and says, "Don't worry, this stadium will be here once in a week, so you will have enough time to prepare for the rematch in this festival." This causes Moon to sigh in relief, as for Lillie she meets Elio and says, "Congratulations on your win."

"Thanks, so where can we find the next sticker?" Elio asks with excitement. Lillie says, "Don't worry, there will be one in the Iki Town after a week. The theme there is going to be Pokemon Sports competition."

"Okay, I'll make sure to go there." Elio says.

After the whole process is done, Ash and Lillie are now back at the house and Aurora says, "We saw the news, as the founder of Contests myself, this is really incredible."

"Thanks, Mother." Ash says, "But where is Grandma?"

"Mother has already left, since she has some work to do in Kalos." Aurora says.

Lillie says, "I think it is a good thing that we are able to learn Double Team, or else we couldn't travel and doing this in the same time."

"That's true after all." Ash says, "And those press outside is quite annoying too. They really want to interview us for this kind of festival..."

"You'll get used to it after a lot of rounds." Aurora says.

Then they decide to take a break as they arrive at the Melemele Meadows. As they are walking around the beautiful yellow garden, they find a hidden path. "What is this?" Lillie asks.

"I am not sure, maybe we should go check it out." Ash says as they enter the cave, but the cave is giving them shivers since it is quite cold. But after a while, they manage to get out of the cave. While they are there, they also find a Barboach.

"How about we capture that Barboach?" Ash asks Lillie, who nods as Ash takes out a Pokeball and captures it.

Now they are outside the cave, they find themselves at the beach and Lillie says, "Wow...this place is beautiful..."

"I agree." Ash says. "This sure is a perfect place to relax." Ash says as they decide to put a tent at the beach. While Pikachu is playing with Sylveon at the beach, they notice some Tentacool bullying a Popplio, they quickly rush to help, after chasing the Tentacool away, they quickly bring the poisoned Popplio to Ash and Lillie.

"What happened to it?" Ash asks in shock as he quickly heals the Pokemon. After learning the truth, they know that Popplio is abandoned by his original trainer and he finds himself here at the Kala'e Bay and then the Tentacool attack them. Ash spot one and asks if Popplio wants some revenge. After agreeing to team up, they battle a Tentacool and then they manage to capture it in the end. At the same time, Popplio also agrees to join in Ash and Lillie.

Popplio: the Sea Lion Pokémon: A Water type. Popplio can control water balloons, and works hard so it can make bigger balloons.

They also try out the balloons, they are surprised that Popplio can make big balloons, but after it pops, the two of them are soaked wet.

Lillie also notices some sparkling on the ocean, after looking they notice that it is a school of Finneon that are swimming. Lillie also captures it with the help of the fishing rod.

Ash notices a Pokemon which is white colored near the bay as it is injured, he asks, "Rotom, what is that?"

"Leave it to me. Wishiwashi, the Small Fry Pokémon. A Water type. When in a tough spot, their eyes tear up, which gives it the look of crying." Ash quickly gives him a heal, and knowing that it accidentally bump into the rock, they sigh and tell him don't do that again. Ash also captures it after seeing how good a Pokemon it is.

Then they also hear a large thud, much to their surprise. "What is that?" Lillie says in surprise. The two of them go check out and then they see a Shellder and a Bagon, who are fainted on the ground.

"Hey, are you two alright?" After the two of them get back up, Shellder starts to yell at Bagon and then it also uses the Clamp attack on it. Bagon tries to use Flamethrower to get out of it.

"No fighting!" Ash pulls the two away, "What is going on?"

Shellder says, "I was just relaxing here and this Bagon hits me with the Headbutt from the air!"

"You are a sea Pokemon, how do you know that I want to fly!" Bagon retorts. Lillie says, "Calm down you two. Apologize for now. Bagon can't aim since he isn't at the stage that he can fly yet."

Ash says, "And don't worry, Shellder, it won't happen again as well." Then the two of them are surprised at how these two trainers care for them, so they decide to join in. Ash also promise to have Bagon evolve so it can fly into the sky.

"Now that there aren't any more problems, I hope we can relax now." Lillie mutters. "I agree. Doing these is quite tiring me out." Ash replies.

Here is the new chapter, and this marks the first Island Festival for the story, and the main characters from the Sun and Moon games will be the contestants of the festival, as they will be appearing more in the story. And for why Ash and Lillie are wearing disguises, let's say that they are afraid that someone will find out about Nebby, especially the evil version of Lusamine. The next chapter will be the festival in the Iki Town and the Melemele Sea where they are going to the Akala Island.
