Chapter 11:new friends,old flames
"I'm tired of you and your sister messing with my life,everything was going well until you brats came along. [Edgewood],I'll cut your head off!"
"dipper! don't give up on me now. sorry i should have realized this,i should have payed attention to his behavior i-"
"Dipper,you're determination to save your friends have allowed me to evolve,[maps and legends Act II] that is my name."
"ahh!" dipper wakes up sitting on his bed covered in sweat,he looked around and breathing heavily as his heart rate stabilized,he groaned in pain grasping his chest still covered in bandages. it was honestly annoying at that point,he looked at his arms remembering all the times they broke or got severely damaged. with how much he could heal with his stand's 'paper skin' ability,one think it coudln't heal was broken bones.
He reached to his cracked phone and looked at the time " 4:27 AM,of course" he sighs and looks over at mabel sleeping peacefully with waddles under her bed. not wanting to interrupt her sleep, he slowly got up and left their room. he went through the kitchen and sat on the bench on the shack's porch,looking at the stars and feeling the cold breeze of dawn.
"can't sleep huh dude?" soos sits besides him wearing a jacket and holding two cups
"soos? why you here so early" dipper asks looking at the handyman
"oh i usually get here early to get things done before tourists start to come,clean the exhibits and glue them together if they start to fall aparts, do maintance on other things. handyman stuff,coffee?" he says and gives dipper one of the cups which he takes
"thanks" he takes a sip and continues looking at the stars. soos took off his coat and gave it to dipper "here"
"huh?" he looks at the coat
"you'll catch a cold sitting outside without a shirt" he says putting his coat over dipper,the teen looks at himself
"thanks soos,i tried putting a shirt but it was too much of a bother and i didn't want to wake mabel" he says taking another sip of the coffee
"those were some nasty bruises you had,that fight must have been pretty epic huh?" soos says trying to lighten the mood
"yeah,it was...quite a fight,so what happened between the girls and pacifica's stand?" he asks clearly changing subjects
"honestly dude i don't know,when i got here they had already made a mess. luckily i got here before they got really hurt" soos says taking a sip of his coffee,he then laughs
"what?" dipper asks raising a eyebrow
"just thinking of us talking about fighting special spirit companions with powers beyond the imagination and death so casually. not something i would think on a daily basis. you and your sister really changed things up"
"yeah...sorry if we ended up making a mess of your life" dipper says taking another sip of the coffee
"you kidding me,you two didn't make a mess. it was enjoyable but uneventful life,you two definetly made this the most interest summer as of yet. yeah there was a few life threatening situatio ns here and there but overall i'm having a blast hanging with you guys"" soos says
"thanks soos. we've been having a lot of fun as well. i just can't help but feel we got ourselves in something pretty big with current events. i'm not feeling going back to sleep today,i'll take a stroll around the woods" dipper stands up and gives soos his jacket back
"you can keep it for now, i won't need it on the shack anyways" soos says,dipper nods and puts it back on
"thanks again,i'll be back later" he says going between the trees into the woods.
SCENECUT
Mabel yawns as she wakes up,she let her eyes adjust to the lighting of the room. she sits up and stretches her body a bit
"mmmmm,good morning dipper,feeling better?" she cheerly turns just to not find her twin. she looks at the time
"8:20,i expected dipper to sleep more,guess old habits die hard. even when injured" she shrugs jumping off her bed,happened before so she was sure dipper would be fine wherever he was.
"good morning waddles,who's the best? you are,you are" she picks waddles and spins around with him snuggling their faces together as he squealed happily
After she changed into her usual clothes and ran out of her room,using [KGB] to make the ground string and use it as a trampoline to jump down the stairs and get to the end unharmed "thank you supernatural powers" she goes to the kitchen
"good morning everyone" she says loudly,getting tired groans as usual "good day indeed" she smiles jumping in her seat
"here"stan says putting a plate of eggs and bacon in front of her
"thanks grunkle stan" she says shoving her mouth with her food
"hew,wueres dipier" she asks with her mouth full,stan and wendy look around
"good question" stan shrugs
"checked the bathroom?" wendy asks,mabel nods
"he wasn't on the porch when i arrived" wendy says
"eh,maybe he went out for a jog. he survived being tackled off a cliff,he'll be fine" stan dismisses
"mawbe" mabel mumbles before swallowing her food,but quickly dismisses it. with all they survived so far. he would be just fine"
SCENECUT
Dipper was walking by the woods after taking a long nap under the trees,just looking around and feeling the fresh breeze hit his body,it was refreshing. he sat by a fallen stump as some birds and gnomes fought over food in the distance
"that doesn't even surprise me anymore. guess it's what happens when you deal with supernatural on a daily basis" he jokes to himself
"keep joking and you'll see what's good" jeff says jumping behind dipper startling him
"wah,you again!" he says calling his stand
"wait wait" he says lifting his arms in defense "i'm not hero for trouble" he says,dipper stares at him for a bit before recalling his stand and looking away. after knowing he was safe jeff looked at him
"you look terrible,what even happened to you?" he asks
"why do you wanna know? i thought you hated me" he asks,the gnome shrugs
"eh im just curious. and for joking before,must be easy for you with your fancy stores and "super markets" around everywhere with food just lying around. life's harsh out here boy" he scolds,dipper looks at him before looking at the gnomes fighting the birds and actually felt a bit like a douche for laughing at them
"i...never thought of that,sorry. i'm basically laughing at your struggle" he apologizes
jeff looked a bit surprised "i,uh...it' sfine i forgive you kid" he lightly pats dipper on the back,or as far as he could reach.
"and i don't hate you either" he says sitting down near dipper,he raises a eyebrow
"really? after i punched you and some other gnomes into submission" he says
"but honestly can't really blame you,we did try to kidnap your sister and make her marry the one thousand of us for all eternity" he says
dipper just looks at him, he shrugs "what,we got a therapist after that okay? we can also learn" he says proudly
"and what exactly did that gnome therapist teach you?" dipper asks amused
"that the queen was a ruse and i was pretty much the leader all along" he says seriously,dipper just shakes his head
"hey don't shake your head at me,you wouldn't be the one laughing if you found out your life purpose was a disguised goat all along" jeff says poking dipper
'BOOM'
The two were startled by a loud noise coming from the distance causing jeff to fall from the log
"ouch" he rubs his head
"what was that? arg" dipper stands up hurriedly before gripping his chest
"whatever it was,our village is in that direction!" jeff says and starts running there rather quickly
"your village? arg...wait" dipper starts going after him despite feeling pain throughout his body
as more explosions went off in the distance jeff seemed to get more in a hurry until dipper couldn't see him anymore. the closer he got the more screams he heard and the presence of fire became much more apparent.
when dipper arrived his eyes widened. the gnome village was in flames,houses burning or already destroyed,gnomes everwhere either wounded,burning or carbonized
jeff was also looking around in horror,why would something like this happen. gnomes were pesky creatures but nothing that would call for a genocide,in the center of the flames was a tall figure with only their glowing eyes visible. jeff grit his teeth and looked with anger as dipper managed to limp close to him
"HEY. WHO YOU THINK YOU ARE PAL,COMING HERE AND DESTROYING OUR HOME,KILLING MY PEOPLE" he shouted,dipper just stared.
the tall figure turned it's gaze towards jeff and dipper. he put out his hand,the flames went towards his hand and above his palm, fusing and forming a flaming american football. he gets into a almost perfect throwing stance
"Pesky creatures,burn and wither away!" the figure shouts in a distorted voice as he throws the ball like a rocket towards dipper and jeff,they widen their eyes as it hits the ground near them
'BOOM'
SCENECUT
"did you guys hear something?" mabel asks looking around slightly
"probably just a lumberjack or a bear or something" stan shrugs fixing his suit as he got ready for the tourists to arrive
"i don't think it was a bear..." mabel says
"could really be my dad,he had the ideas to use explosives to cut down trees" wendy says reading a magazine
"how does that work? putting it near the stump?" stan turns to her
"tying the dynamite to his axe and swinging at the tree" she says nonchanlantly,stan just stares at her before just giving up on and just putting his eyepatch and hat on
the doorbell rings,mabel perks up "must be candy,we were going out on a picnic today" she goes to the door and opens it. instead of candy is a tall slim girl with long hazel hair,glasses and a french cap. she was wearing a long sleeved black shirt under a dark green crop top,jean shorts and leggings with sneakers
mabel widens her eyes a bit "melissa chaga?" ,the girl looks at her for a bit before smiling
"mabel pines,it's been so long!" she hugs mabel,who akwardly stands there before hugging back
"y-yeah,i haven't seen you since the last week of school,what are you doing here?" she asks
"oh me and my brother heard you two came to spend the summer here on this place so we decided to come here too and do a surprise" melissa says
"oh that's nice of you and-is michael here too?" she says in a deadpan tone,melissa laughs
"yeah,he was eager to see you two again. i'm surprised he isn't here yet" she mumbles the last part
"s-so what brings you to the mystery shack?" mabel asks
"oh right,is dipper around. i wanted to say hi to him" she smiles
"right...hmm,he isn't here" mabel informs her and melissa's face fell
"o-oh and where is him?" she asks
"i don't know homestly,he'll probably be back later" melissa slowly nods hearing steps behind her
"hey mabel" candy waves holding a basket
"pines,ready for the picnic?" gideon asks also holding his basket and a instrument case
"w-who are them?" melissa asks getting weird looks from the two
"i would be happy to meet new friends of yours" she says recomposing herself,mabel nods before going between her and her friends
"guys,this is melissa chaga. a... friend from school"
"melissa,these are candy chiu and gideon gleeful. friends we made here" he gestures to them,candy waves slightly while gideon just looks at her
"hello,nice to meet you two" melissa says,she then notices the baskets
"oh are you going on a picnic?" she asks mabel
"yeah,we-" gideon starts
"is dipper going to show up?" she interrupts
gideon and candy look at each other for a second
"well,he knows about it. so he'll probably-"
"can i come?" she interrupts again
"i mean,i suppose-" candy starts to say
"good,let's go then" she says just walking past them
"whats the deal with her,pines?" gideon asks,candy covers his mouth
"you don't have to be rude gideon" candy says making him roll his eyes "but he's right"
"she's dipper's ex-girlfriend" she says
SCENECUT
It all happened too fast
"pesky creatures,burn and wither away" as the blazing football flew at them with great speed,dipper could only see as it approached. barely able to summon his stand in time. in the corner of his eye he saw a blue and red blur as jeff jumped in front of him
"[IRON MAIDEN]" dipper could see a vague shape appear in front of jeff before the football made contact exploding into flames
"heh,good riddance" the figure between the flames scoffs and turns to continue his 'clean-up'
'EUREKA'
before a armored fist decks his face full force sending him to a tree,still covered in flames,scorching a hole in it
"what?" the blazing figure says looking around and sees dipper and jeff completely fine. with the former having his stand by his side
as the figure looked confused at [maps and legends act 2] dipper turns to jeff.
"where did you get that?" he asks not breaking eye contact with the flaming figure
besides jeff was a humanoid figure a bit bigger than jeff but still small compared to dipper. it's entire bodu was silver and covered by spikes. it had a neutral expression,it's head looked like a gnome with the beard and cap but it all fused together as a statue. it's body was oval shaped,it had cilindrical arms with 4 fingers on each hand and short stubby legs
"oh this,i got after that therapy i talked about. it didn't say a name so i call it [Iron maiden],neat huh" the gnome smirks
"grrr,don't go thinking you pests are any special just because you face fancy tricks" the flaming figure crouches down as the flames flare up stronger. he runs at dipper and jeff rapidly like a fireball,jeff stands in front of dipper. [iron maiden] floats in front of them and his body morphs into a spiked shield while maintaining the head
"that little shield won't stop me! shoulder charge" the figure slams into the spike shield and the fire around him instantly vanish as he bounces right off into a tree,making it fall on him
the figure pushes the tree off himself as he stood up,without the flames dipper could see his appearance
It was a tall and muscular man,his body was covered by a white and crimson red american football suit. the exposed parts oh his body like his lower legs and forearms were pitch black along with his face,bright eyes the only thing visible with the helmet on
"that's definetly a stand" dipper says with [act 2] fully by his side
"i don't care what piece of furniture he is, i just want him off my forest!" jeff shouts with [iron maiden] by in front of him
"i'm not a piece of furniture. turn to ash!" the football player makes another blazing football and tosses it at jeff
"not again bucko,squirrel wheel" [iron maiden] covers jeff turning into a large spiked ball and tanking the attack
"grrr,how are you unharmed?!" the football gear glows brighter as it starts to heat up
"geez you shout more than frogs in baby season" jeff says as he starts running inside the ball making it spin faster and faster
"shut up,a damn pest like you can't beat me,especially when i got my [champions] with me" he hits own chest
'so that's the name of his stand. by how he acts is obvious he either think very straightfowardly or he just aquired his stand' dipper analyzed as he stood behind jeff
[champions] arm was set ablaze and he charged at jeff again "i'll just have to break that damn shell!" he punches the spiked ball and once again the fire vanishes and his arm cracks,the football gear and the pitch black skin burst into flames and ash revealing a light skinned arm underneath
'so it is a wearable stand,good to know' he gears into action
"i-it broke? it was supposed to be indestructible" the user of [champions] says in disbilief
"A powerful stand doesn't mean a instant win" the figure looks up at him,meeting face to face with his stand going to punch him
[champions] tries blocking but [act 2] is faster and hits him on the stomach
'kakakakakakakaka'
[act 2] attacks him with a barrage of punches hitting his torso and his unprotected arm
"kakakakakakaka. eureka" with the last punch he puts a compass on his armor pointing to the three making so he can't move
"what? why can't i move"
"now jeff!"
"don't tell me twice!" jeff jumps and the rotating ball flies straight at [champions] hitting him head on,piercing his armor and going clean through the tree he was stuck to and onto the ground
'CRASH'
[champions] coughs blood as the rest of the armor starts to shimmer and dissipate
"m-my armor...[c-champions]..."
"got what you deserve!" jeff jumps on his chest as he points down on him
"i should just kill you right now boy!" [iron maiden] floats above his head putting both hands over his head
"wait" dipper stops him
"why are you here? what do you want?"
'ROAR'
a black and red blur hits into dipper and jeff sending him back into the ground,dipper groans loudly in pain holding his ribs. on top of the football player was a large semi humanoid wolf with a tattered hood and cloak. steel claws and teeth
"RAAAAAAWW" it roars loudly making dipper,jeff and many gnomes cover their ears. the wolf then puts the football player on it's back and quickly runs away
dipper breaths heavily holding his chest in pain
"come back here you coward!" jeff jumps around angrily before seeing dipper on the ground
"you okay,kid? kid?" dipper looks at him before passing out from the sudden pain.

sorry for the very long wait,life is being very hard lately. but the story isn't dead,don't worry,i hope you enjoy this chapter
