Prompt: Santa's helper- Percy and Annabeth

Annabeth was so done with her life.

She was currently standing outside in the snow, wearingbright green tights, a red and white striped dress, and to top it all off, a green pointy hat. With bells.

Why was she doing this you ask? Because her mother suddenly decided that everyone in their family wasn't doing enough to help the community, and landed Annabeth the role of Santa's helper.

She would have enjoyed bringing smiles to kids faces; if it hadn't been 7pm on Christmas eve, snowing, and for a group of teenagers that passed her, snickering.

Once she even thought she saw her brother Malcom passing by with a group of carollers.

At least she wasn't doing that.

After about 15 more minutes of standing around, doing nothing and smiling at one kid that completely ignored her, Annabeth decided that it was enough Santa time for today. She was just about to close up Santa's grotto and picked up the candy cane sign, prepared to turn it over.

This was when one 17 year old boy, accompanied by his 5 year old sister, decided to dash down the sidewalk and come to a stop too close for her comfort.

"You guys can't close!"

The boys sudden outburst startled Annabeth, and the young girl still seemed to be catching her breath. Annabeth stared at him.

"Oh, um, I mean, we still have one more visitor for Santa," the boy said, a pink blush spreading across his face. He seemed to be out of his frenzied panic, and now was much more polite. He looked around her age, and had sea green eyes and windswept dark hair sprinkled with melting snow. If Annabeth hadn't been so grumpy she may have called him cute.

"Are we going to see Santa ,Percy?" The little girl's voice brought her out of her reverie.

"Of course you are!" Annabeth really wasn't in the mood, but that didn't mean that she wouldn't allow a child to see Santa.

And so she opened the door, and led them inside. She passed her friend Piper, who had thankfully agreed to volunteer with her, and entered the backroom just as Jason was about to take his hat off.

"SanTA!"

Annabeth stood awkwardly to the side as Jason crouched down to talk with the girl. Percy came to stand beside her, as he was pretty much being ignored by his [sister?]

"Umm, hi." He said. He looked familiar, and Annabeth just had to ask which school he went to.

10 minutes later, she learnt that he went to Goode high, lived with his mother and step-father, had one sister (Estelle) and his favourite colour was blue. She also learnt that she quite liked Percy.
