While waiting for Tanvir to recover, Ben and his allies began their search through the Ice Temple. One of the Steelheads was rescued. Three remain. Including the Captain of the Ice Temple.

Summer, Nokia, Takumi and Yuuko entered the next segment of the temple. Summer brought her Numel.

"Okay, let's search for the Pokemon we need!" Nokia shouted.

"Assuming you didn't just scare them all away…" Summer replied, covering her ears.

"Hmm? What's that? You say something Summer?"

"Oh, nothing. At any rate, let's go."

They moved forward and saw a couple of Spheal bouncing around and a Vulpix, trotting about. "Aaaaw! How cute!" Noikia said.

"None of them are glowing though." Takumi said. "Let's look elsewhere."

They walked past the Pokemon and then saw another Spheal and Vulpix. "Hey, wait." Summer pointed at one of them. "That Vulipix is glowing! But the last one wasn't?"

The Pokemon spotted them and yelped as it ran. "Huh? Hey, wait up!" Summer and the others chased it to the end of the room. The Ranger launched her Styler and started drawing loops around it. It tried to run away from the Styler. Numel ran in front of it and it tried to turn the other way, only to be blocked by Staraptor. Once cornered Summer finished the capture.

Terriermon glanced at the nearby WarpZone. "Good thing he didn't think of taking that."

"So, it's only specific Vulpix we need to go after?" Yuuko asked.

"I guess we'll find out as we move forward." Summer replied. "Come on."

They entered the WarpZone and appeared in another room. This one was shaped like a small t and was empty, save for three WarpZones. "Which way?" Summer asked.

"It will be faster if we split up." Yuuko said.

"But Yuuko, if we run into the Pokemon we need only Summer can tame them." Takumi said.

"Not a problem. If you see any just knock them out and take them with you. Once we meet up, we'll have Summer handle them."

"Kinda harsh, but I guess we don't have much choice." Summer sighed. "Okay. I can go through the top path alone."

"Then I'm taking the right route." Takumi said.

"I'll go with you." Yuuko said. "Nokia, you have two Digimon, so will you be okay on your own?"

"With us on the job, absolutely!" Agumon said.

Gabumon nodded. "Yeah! We got her back!"

Nokia smiled. "What would I do without you boys? Okay, see you soon!"

Takumi and Yuuko appeared in a room that was square shape but had multiple square shaped holes. "Look!" Terriermon pointed to a Vulpix that ran off at the sight of them.

"That one was glowing." Takumi said. "Let's go!"

DIGIVOLUTION

"Terriermon Digivolve to…Unimon!"

"Guilmon Digivolve to…BlueGreymon!"

After the Digimon Digivolved, they group hurried after the Vulpix. "Geez, these little things are fast!" Unimon said.

"Just keep after it, we're gaining on the little guy!" BlueGreymon replied.

Everyone's eyes were set on the Vulpix as they continued the chase. They didn't even see the Kabutops as Unimon bumped into it from behind. The Pokemon turned around and leered at them.

Takumi gulped. "I think I saw this as a kid either in a cartoon or a really bad dream. Either way it wasn't pretty."

Garurumon tackled a fleeing Vulpix. "Gotchya!"

"Good job!" Meramon ran over and picked him up. "Alright, little guy, settle down."

"Hey, carful there, you're literally on fire! You might roast the poor fox!"

Nokia caught up to them. "He doesn't look like he's in pain to me. Actually, he looks happy." Sure, enough the Vulpix was no longer scared. It was wagging its tail.

"Well it is a Fire Type." Meramon replied. "Guess it likes fire."

"Hey I know!" Nokia took out her Digivice. "Maybe Arata and Nema's tinkering on the Digivice might tell us." She opened a menu and held it up to Vulpix. A display was shown. "Let's see here. It says here it is born with a white tail that splits into multiple tails as it grows up. Oh, it looks like some place called aloha has its own ice variant."

Garurumon looked at the screen. "Erm, Nokia? I think that's pronounced Alola."

"Eh, tomato tomahto. Anyway, it also says it feels nice and warm when you hold it."

"It kinda does." Meramon nodded. "Want to try?"

"Sure!" Nokia hugged the Pokemon. "Wow! It is warm! And soft!"

Garurumon keep reading the Digivice in Nokia's hand. "Hmm? It also said if it gets too warm it automatically spews fire from its mouth to avoid overheating."

"Huh?" As if on cue Vulpix opened its mouth and shot a burst of flame startling Nokia. Lucky for her she held it with its head facing the other way. "Yikes! Er, well, let's hurry over to Summer so she can capture this thing." She said, quickly giving the Vulpix back to Meramon.

Summer went through WarpZone after WarpZone to different rooms and looped back to where the room she landed in after splitting off from the crew.

"Man, this place is a maze." She sighed.

"Summer!"

Takumi and Yuuko appeared from her left out of breath. "Hey guys? What happened to you? You sound tired."

"Please don't ask." BlueGreymon replied as he held up a squirming Vulpix. "Here. Mind taming this thing?"

"Roger!" Summer shot her Styler and drew multiple loops until the Pokemon had calmed down. "There we go."

BlueGreymon gently put Vulpix down and it ran off. "Hey gang!" Nokia sang as she hurried over. Garurumon and Meramon, who was carrying a sleeping Vulpix followed up behind. "So, did you find any?"

"I found a couple." Summer said. "Yuuko and Takumi brought one just now."

"Cool!" Nokia nodded as Meramon put his Vulpix down. "Look at the little guy. Who manipulates these poor little things! I swear these Steelhead are jerks."

"They're being manipulated as well Nokia." Takumi replied.

Yuuko nodded. "He's right. Ravio's father is the one pulling the strings."

"We don't know that for a fact. I learned never to say you know it's someone unless you've actually confirmed it."

"I agree with Takumi." Summer said. "We won't know for sure until we get to the Light Temple."

"Then what are we waiting for?" Nokia asked. "Let's blaze through this so we can teach Ravio's mean old man a lesson!"

"Nokia." Takumi sighed. "Did you even listen to what we just said?"

"Oh, right." Nokia giggled nervously. "Ravio's…Potentially mean but not yet confirmed old man! So, where to next Sums?"

"Me? Uh…" Summer looked around and then pointed to the WarpZone north west from them. "I don't think I looked there yet."

"Alrighty, let's roll!"

They took the WarpZone to the largest room so far. It was shaped like some kind of ring. "Okay." Summer lead the team forward. "This is new." She yelped as a panicked Vulpix ran past her.

"That one was glowing!" Takumi said. "Unimon, after it!"

"Right!" the Digimon took flight and flew after it. Just as he started to close in a fireball from his left hit him in the face. Caught off guard, he winced and stopped in his tracks. There was another Vulpix nearby. This one wasn't glowing, but angry.

"Holy Shot!" Unimon shot a blast of light, knocking it out.

The others caught up to him. "Did you get him?" Takumi asked.

"No, this angry Vulpix got in my way."

"Was it glowing?"

"No."

Takumi thought for a moment. "Hey guys. The Vulpix you caught, were they all scared and running away?"

"The ones I found were." Summer said.

"Mine too." Nokia nodded.

"Then maybe that's it. The ones that open the gate are all the frightened Vulpix."

"Likely." Unimon said. "In any case, let's hurry! That other one couldn't have gone too far."

"Right. Hey, I know! Summer, Yuuko, you two try going the other direction and cut it off!"

Summer nodded. "I see. Good idea Takumi!"

The Ranger and Yuuko turned around and ran the other way. After a few seconds they saw the frightened Vulpix.

"There he is!" BluGreymon said. "Grab him!"

They chased the Vulpix around the room. They circled around until the Vulpix looked behind it to see the girls ganging on it. The when it wasn't looking in front of it, the Vulpix crashed into…another Vulpix.

Takumi and Nokia ran towards them. "Oh, hey! You caught…two of them?"

While both Vulpix were dazed, Summer captured them with her Styler. "Looks like that's it for this room."

"I saw another WarpZone back that way." Takumi said.

"Lead the way."

At the far end of the room another bridge brought the team to a green WarpZone that took them to another room where a Mankey and a Primeape guarded the open red WarpZone. "Looks like we got all the Pokemon we need." Takumi said. "We just need to get past those monkeys."

"Numel, use ember! Staroptor, Arial Ace!"

Summer's Numel spat a flame at Mankey, and Staraptor looped in the air before slamming into Primeape and knocking it into Mankey.

"Now! Quick! While they're dazed!" Summer darted for the WarpZone and the rest of the team followed.

They appeared in the last room of the area and ascended the stairs. Climbing up them they ascended to where an oracle awaited them with a blue alligator Pokemon. "Hey, didn't Blue Eyes have a Pokemon like that?" Unimon asked.

Summer nodded. "Yeah. A Feraligatr."

"And he shall be the one to halt your assaults on our sacred temples." The oracle said. "Seize them!"

Feraligatr roared as it charged towards the team. BlueGreymon and Meramon rammed into it to stop the Pokemon in its tracks.

"Hmmm. Maybe bringing a Fire Type wasn't such a hot idea after all." Summer muttered. The others stared at her. "No pun intended I swear."

Feraligatr shot its head up, launching BlueGreymon and Meramon into the air. While they were above it, the Pokemon shot a huge blast of water that crashed them into the ceiling. Garurumon lunged towards Feraligatr, but it jumped back and the other two Digimon landed of Garurumon.

Staraptor flew towards it with Unimon close behind. "Holy Shot!"

As Staraptor tried to peck Feraligatr it grabbed the bird's face, swung it around and threw him into Unimon's attack.

"Man, this thing's tough!" Takumi growled.

"Why not just give up?" the oracle asked. "Whatever you hoped to accomplish was doomed to fail the moment you chose to oppose the oracles."

Yuuko's eyes slowly started to glow. "I won't give up. I swore not to."

Takumi looked at her. "Yuuko?"

"When Miss Rei-No. Crusadermon used me to hurt so many in Under Zero, and I was consumed by an Eater, I had lost all hope and was prepared to accept my fate…But them…Takumi…Ami…They reached out to me. I swore that day that I wouldn't let the risk they took to save me be for nothing. That's why…I'll never give up! Never again!"

DIGIVOLUTION

A light rose from her Digivice and rained down on BlueGreymon. "BlueGreymon Digivolve to…BlueMetalGreymon!"

Takumi scanned it. "BlueMetalGreymon. Champion Level Virus Type. The result of a MetalGreymon drastically extending their vital functions through remodeling, causing their skin to turn blue."

"Nice!" Nokia gleamed. "That gives me an idea! Meramon!"

A blue shell formed around Nokia's Digimon. "Meramon Slide Evolution! Greymon!"

DIGIVOLUTION

"Greymon Digivolve to…MetalGreymon!"

Nokia put her Digivice away. "The only thing better than a MetalGreymon! Two!"

"Giga Destroyer!" MetalGreymon shot twin missiles from his chest at Feraligatr. When they hit, they exploded, flinging it into a wall. It growled as it got up.

"Revenge Flame!" BlueMetalGreymon cloaked himself in a veil of blue fire.

"You think that flame will stop my raging waters?!" The Steelhead growled. "Strike it down Feraligatr!"

The Pokemon shot a burst of water from its mouth at BlueMetalGreymon. He slid back on his feet but endured the hit as the flames glowed brighter. Feraligatr fire another shot. Then another. And another. Despite the pressure BlueMetalGreymon didn't back down.

"Finish him!"

Feraligatr charged up its biggest volley yet. Just them the blue flames around BlueMetalGreymon gathered in his chest plate. It opened at twin cannons fired a huge stream of blue fire at Feraligatr, blowing it away.

"Let's end this." Yuuko said.

Nokia nodded. "You got it girl!"

"Wolkenapalm!" Both MetalGreymon and BlueMetalGreymon rammed their metal hands into Feraligatr, knocking it out. While it was down, Summer traced her Styler around it until it was free from the Steelhead's spell.

"Impossible…" The oracle dropped to the floor. A Heart Slate appeared near him.

Back in Cocona Plaza Ravio started to shake the oracle on the floor. "Come on, wake up!"

The Steelhead slowly got up. "…Yaaawn. I had a good sleep. Hmm? Was I taking a nap?"

"I think it's safe to assume he doesn't remember a thing." Fei said.

"You've been controlled by someone, and even challenged our friends here." Kira said. "Do you remember?"

The Steelhead looked at Summer, Nokia, Takumi and Yuuko. "Why would I challenge anyone? Especially Children! You're kidding…"

"Yeah? Well you just gotten your butt whooped by these "children" I'll have you know!" Nokia replied.

"Nokia, claim down." Yuuko said.

"Yuuko's right, let's not start another fight." Guilmon said.

The Steelhead looked at the red Digimon. "D-did that Pokemon just talk?! …Wait! I just remembered something! I was with my Feraligatr, and…Oh, no! How could I do such a thing…? I'm so sorry!"

"It wasn't your fault." Takumi said. "And FYI these are Digimon."

"Digi…mon? Well whatever they are I caused them and you a lot of trouble…"

"You're not the only one who was being controlled." Palmon said. "Don't take it too hard."

"We still need to save the others in the temple before we can get to your captain." Ben said. "Hey, Kira, how many areas are in the Ice Temple?"

"Four, including the captain's area. Just like the Fire Temple. In fact, the only ones that aren't the same size are the Forest and Light Temples."

"So just one more place to hit before we can take on the Ice Captain. We'd better move."

"Yeah. Hopefully Tanvir will recover by then." Takumi replied. "We need to find out who it was that attacked him."
