Chapter 8 Beginning

joy with the mix of relief and yet a mix of doubt, Alas=Ramus stared straight to the confused Emi. her Emotions emerge like waves from the sea, the tears of happiness and a smile that can out shine all the smiles of the earth. she stared for a good 5 minutes while Emi look at her questions plastered in her face. why? this is Maou's apartment right? she thought gazing at the adorable Elementary girl in front of her getting so addictive to her cute cheek and pure glistering purple eyes. forgetting the reason why she's there and the question that started to arise from her mind. Alas=Ramus who didn't wait another seconds run to her with open arms embracing Emi so tightly, Even Emi have to silently yelp in pain.

"Mama!!!Mama!!!"she exclaim holding into Emi every moment she shouted Mama

Emi who's mix with questions and surprise by her hug, hug back feeling the tears behind her and the slight warm that creep into her heart. so much in such little time everything came so fast and shocking to Emi as she recalls her day. the nightmares and pain to the seductive Maou and this cute child who is hugging her like there's no tomorrow.

"Mama!!!you came back!!!" she chanted over and over again while in Emi's Embrace.

hearing her say does word felt a stab in her heart. unbeknown to her, she started to tear up too. feeling so sad and guilty for whatever reason Emi doesn't know.

"i-i'm back" she stutter and yet she doesn't know why she said that. it felt natural or she felt she needed to say it for so many years. the two fell into tears crying just outside Maou's apartment.

not long their cries echoed to the bathroom Making Maou questions who was crying. he ended his shower while trying to get a towel to cover him, he thought of a possibilities of the cries either Alas=Ramus mistakenly on the the flat screen TV or Alas=Ramus herself is the one crying. hoping it's not reason two he quickly got out of the bathroom and headed straight to the living room seeing that the TV isn't on and the cries didn't stop. he can only think of his daughter and the possibilities of reason two, he quickly followed the cries and ended to the entrance. shock seeing Emi embrace their daughter emotionally. and the tears that flows down her beautiful pink cheek and tinder Rosey lip—

ah stop it that's not the time for that

for a moment he left them their gazing and staring at their crying figure, don't know how to comfort the two.

not long the crying Alas=Ramus fell into silence and replace by her cute and steady breathing. seeing that she fell asleep in Emi's arm the feelings of comfort and warmth made Alas=Ramus sure that she's safe and well protected.

this gave Maou the queue to come closer surprising Emi who just learn of his presence.

"i-i'm sorry i didn't mean to make her cry"she apologetically said while carrying Alas=Ramus in her embrace. seeing that she's a little heavy Maou tries to reach and take Alas=Ramus away from Emi but the child's grip cannot be underestimated. when he tried to pull her away from Emi, they heard a ripping sound Which made them gaze at the clothing Alas=Ramus is holding. it was Emi's cute dandelion printed yellow shirt and the slight pull made a small opening for her clivege to see. she mini yelp and tries to cover her clivege with her free hand giving her a hard time to balance. falling a little to forward, Maou catches the two.

"i-i'm really sorry!!this is so Embarrassing"she said avoiding his direct gaze and hiding her red face to Alas=Ramus silver locks.

"i should be the one apologizing, seeing that she won't be letting go any sooner do you mind coming in for now?"he swift his hand directing inside his apartment. Emi who's still blushing nodded and entered his apartment. Emi gape in Amazement admiring his dark theme and luxurious apartment. she remembered him mentioning that he works for a company but never thought he would be this rich. Maou guided Emi to the living room and taking out a pillow from the other room putting it down the sofa she seated on and tries to mingle Alas=Ramus hand of her but then again failed to do so.

"i deeply apologize for being a bother to you Emi"it wasn't explain how they started to call eachothers name but the two naturally started to call them by their first name in a matter of 3 days.

"it's ok, i apologize for crying in front of your apartment how could i do such embarrassing thing" she blushingly covers her red face making Maou adore her even more. the two went back and gaze at the sleeping child still her hand gripping to Emi's shirt. the two shared a sigh of relief before they're eyes interlock and gazing at eachothers beautiful eyes.

before Emi's eyes landed to his half naked body only a towel covering his family Jewels. She turn her head away blushing so red that even her ears started to turn red. Maou followed her previous gaze and look down remembering his only in a towel. he jolted from his seat and muttered a sorry before he disappeared into his room.

meanwhile Emi still couldn't calm her raging heart seeing Maou's figure brought her far to mars and couldn't take the image of his half naked body off her mind. while she keep battling the image of him in her thoughts before a small nudge and a kick from Alas=Ramus brought her back to reality. she gaze at the sleeping child beside her, scanning her every being, her white soft skin to her swollen eyes from crying a lot. Emi couldn't help but chuckle, she's adorable she thought gently touching her soft cheeks before she started to hum a song unknown to Emi.

the song keep singing in her mind while she hum and gently caress her silver locks.

silver...where have i seen this before

Maou who just finished changing enters the living room gazing at the humming Emi gently caressing their daughter. a smile plastered in Maou's face while he look at them like a father and a husband would. he walk closer with his dark blue long sleeve paired with black shorts(A/N I'm bad at describing things) taking a seat opposite to her and start humming the same song that rings in her mind. surprise but still she continues to hum taking short glances at Maou who look at the child beside her lovingly. unbeknown to her that she so wish for that gaze to only be directly at her.

"she's yours?"She ask directly avoiding his gaze feeling a slight pain for asking and wish he would say no. but fate played their twist, he nodded and muttered a ' yes ' she stop caressing the child cheeks and look at him.

"where's her mother?" she ask without prior knowledge of what's hidden behind her question. Maou was hesitant but answered without batting an eye.

"she disappeared"that was all he said before he reach to his child seeing that she's loosen her grip from her shirt. she couldn't believe what she was hearing, the adorable child's mother disappeared.

"I... I'm sorry to hear that"

"don't be! it's fine, she must have a reason why she disappeared" Maou jokingly said disappearing to his room to lay Alas=Ramus down. Emi look surprise at Maou's word how he was calm about this things. Maou came back smiling at Emi as if nothing happened.

"Aren't you angry? at her?"she ask

"i was, but now that i saw what her circumstances are i push away that feeling because I don't know the full story of her leaving"Emi fell silent as she gaze at Maou seeing the pain hidden by his words. she wish not to see this part of him but she made him do it and that made her guilty inflicting a painful memory back to him. i shouldn't have been nosy she thought it wasn't her business and she have no rights to judge his action and the mother's action after all she's just his neighbour.

"i—

"about dinner"this cut her off guard remembering the promise dinner. is he going to cancel she thought her heart starting to pump faster hoping that's not the case.

"is it ok, for another person to join"

"ah!eh?"

"Alas=Ramus, can she come too?"again cutting her off guard.

"of course!!!!! I'd love too!yes!yes!!!"this caught Maou by surprise but he was glad that she didn't mind on the other hand Emi didn't mind she was glad that it wasn't cancelled after all it's better to eat with more people than one.

"ah!here i forgot you left your wallet!"she shrug the unknown feelings of guilt and handed him his branded brown leather wallet. Maou look surprise and quickly reach for the wallet hoping that she didn't look into it and see their group photo along with Alas=Ramus.

"don't worry, i didn't check what's inside. i knew it was yours seeing your the 2nd person that entered my apartment"as if reading his thoughts Emi assured him. he sigh in a relief he wouldn't know how to explain to Emi about them and the picture together. he wasn't ready yet and he still need to uncover Emi's disappearance before he can even mention about the picture.

"thanks, i didn't even notice that it was missing"he scratch the back of his head laughing nervously.

"will you should be wary, anyway I'll be heading out now see you tonight"

"ah!yes of course I'll see you tonight"the two shared a look before Maou Walk Emi to the door.

"YOU INSOLENT FOOL!!!!!"Ashiya scream at the top of his lungs. he visited Lucifer at his apartment and thought to bring food for him seeing how busy he was for the pass months. but upon arriving he saw Lucifer and the other Sephira playing Call of Duty and while Ashiya was worried for him they were just having the good in their life that it snap Ashiya to the bones.

"MY LIEGE AND I WE'RE WORRIED AND YET HERE YOU ARE! PLAYING WITH YOUR GAMES ALL THIS TIME!!!you lazy bum!"the Berserking Ashiya shouted echoing inside the apartment while he throws things at the lucifer. while the Sephiras look at them with curiosity and excitement as Ashiya scolded the NEET.

"ah! sto—" it took a good 2 hours before Ashiya calm down leaving a beat up lucifer in the living room.

"sowwy"he muttered

"hah! anyway i have come to ask of you to find Any information regarding the Hero"

"eh?i hot nowing apout ser, yow showd've hafe aweady wnow riwht—

"his Liege have found the hero just a month ago"the look of horror in Lucifer face said it all. he wasn't expecting for Maou to find her sooner then it hit him just 4 months ago Maou move to that company near Emeralda's Restaurant, he curse his idiotic brain the fear creep in. what if Maou learn that his been helping them, or what will laylah think if she found out.

"ah- ah- Ashiya ah-w"he got cut of when Ashiya throws a bunch of paper at him.

"this is what i have been able to obtain, I won't be here until another month. i need to check ente isla for a while there's been a lot of rogue demon getting in here"not waiting for another word he left his apartment then added "make sure his Liege gets this, after all it's been years that my Liege have seen your pathetic state"then complete disappeared.

Lucifer can only shockingly gape at the door, the paper still in hand.

"THE HECK?!"

i gotta call Emeralda before anything gets out of hands

"No!"

"please"

"Non"

"Alas=Ramus, mama is not-...she doesn't remember us right now so"

"No!!!"

"Alas"

"I'll make mama remember no matter what!!!"the fire of determination reflect in Alas=Ramus Eyes so eager to see her mother again. on the other hand Maou look so defeated his face said it all it's already 6:50 pm ten more minutes before they'll be having dinner with Emi. and right now his trying to stop Alas=Ramus on spilling the truth. after all he wouldn't know what Emi would react. scratch that he doesn't want to see that reaction again, he felt so rejected last time and he might not survive another attack.

"i know how much you miss your mother, but right now we can't...ok? I'll do my best but please we can't ok?" he pleaded kneeling in front of her both hands grasping her shoulder.

but Alas=Ramus didn't said anything she just pout and look away, tearing up. Seeing that she won't give in Maou sigh in defeat.

"then I'll just have to cancel todays dinner—

10 minutes later

Emi look at the father and daughter in front of her door. the crying Elementary child slapping her father away from her and the flooding tears that drips down her red cheek. the beat up and defeated father gave Emi a pleading look to take his daughter from him. she sweat drops at the scene that unfold just in front of her.

"MwaMwa!!!!"she cried reaching out to her. seeing how Tired and defeated Maou is, she reach to Alas=Ramus and calm the crying child.

"a-are you ok?" she ask leading them to her living room

"she insists on calling you mother and had a little fight with her"he spoke like an old man that have live for thousands of years so deep and craspy. a slight blush cross Emi face as she look at Alas=Ramus who's holding her tightly rubbing her red eyes from crying. she rub her back and smoothly coe her until she stop crying. though she felt pity for the child seeing how desperate she is for a mother.

"hm i don't mind"she said surprising Maou

"ah! do-don't get me wrong, i just...i don't mind her calling me mother for a while"she look away flustered from what she said while Maou look at her glad.

"sorry for troubling you again Emi" he finally spoke bowing down.

"ah! please stop bowing down its really..."she trails off blushing like a red tomato. then the sound of a pot boiling broke their conversation as Emi Change her attention to the kitchen and shaking her flustered face. Alas=Ramus didn't wait another moment and followed her to the kitchen Maou tries to stop Alas=Ramus from following but she successfully obtain Emi's permission, another lost for Maou.

meanwhile in the kitchen the two happily converse forgetting the tired Maou in the living room.

"Mama where have you been!?" She innocently ask

"eh?eto!...traveling, I've been traveling"

"traveling?"

"yes, last year i went to America and a Month before that i stayed at France and Paris then before..."while Emi tells her adventures outside of japan, Alas=Ramus look at her with gleaming of excitement in her eyes. she carefully listened every word Emi said imagining the places she's been through. not long Maou walk in the kitchen a smile plastered in his face seeing how the duo happily chat not sensing his presence. he cross his arm and laid his back on the wall.

"ah!Papa!"Alas=Ramus called for him forgetting their little fight a moment ago.

"Mama went to a lot of places!she went to Paris, France, Korea and MANY MORE!!"she spreads her hands as she relays Emi's words to Maou. getting distracted at the smiling Alas=Ramus he smiled back and nodded. taking his turn to carefully listen to Alas=Ramus.

not a moment long they started to dine. Maou and Alas=Ramus look at Emi's dishes drools started to form. for tonight she cook a beef soup, roasted chicken, salad and steam potato (A/N i may be a foodie but when if comes to pairing food i just lay out and mix dishes)

"woah this is amazing!!! how did you learn to cook like this!"Maou exclaim food started to fill his mouth. Emi blush at his remarks on the other hand Alas=Ramus started to satisfy her Hunger filling her mouth with foods. almost identically eating like Maou.

they really are father and daughter

Emi thought, chuckling at the two. seeing how they love her cooking it made her happy.

"slow down, i can still cook more you know" she said but the two didn't battle an eye as they happily munch the food on the table.

"thanks a lot Emi, the food was delicious!!"he happily exclaimed while carrying Alas=Ramus.

"I'm glad that you like it, sweet dreams Alas=Ramus"she sweetly caress her cheeks.

"ah!about what you said"

"hm?"

"Alas=Ramus calling you Mama"

"oh!that! well-l abou—"

"i hope you don't mind her calling you mama for now"he said surprising Emi

"you see...after her mother disappeared it's been tough to see her smile like that...i know I've been a bother the moment we met but...just this once please..i just want Alas=Ramus to feel the motherly love again"he said pleadingly and avoiding her gaze but Emi can see how earnest he is. she hesitate to answer battling if it's ok to act like a mother to a child she just met but the feeling of connection and longing overcome her as she nodded.

"I don't mind spending my time with her"

"really? are you sure?"

"hmm~ she's a lovely girl she's really fun to be with. i know i just met her but she have this atmosphere that i can't point a finger on it but i can say that I'm really honoured to be called her Mama"

"What? he found her?!"the green haired shouted over the phone while the poor Neet flinch in pain from the other line

"yes, and it's been a month now. i wonder if he already started to make a move"

"i see so, the current Demon King has left for Ente isla. then Maou Sadao is currently alone"a dark figure said who is seating on what looks like a throne for a king. touching his temple in amusement.

"yes, my lord"a servant said kneeing in front of him

"how about the Hero?"the Dark figure ask

"currently the Hero is nowhere to be found, along with the other angels"

"splendid"he said smirking at the news he just heard

"You can't hide for long Emilia...We will find you" a person spoke in a menecing tone as he gaze down the busy city of japan.

"Hold your gears Alis, she must be returned Alive and unharmed" a Ten year old said exited from the shadow. letting the light reflects his red hair and burning red eyes.

"yes, of course my young Prince Elise"

on the other hand I'm just living Emi's And Maou's Age to 26 (i hope you don't mind)

so anyway if your confused about their meeting it's been a month.the first 3 weeks Maou discovering Emi and been observing her and another week of Maou and Emi on the hospital and getting use to being a neighbor's.

so yeah and about chiho and Maou's relationship. yes their dating but not a couple, being Maou who is busy looking for Emi and being a CEO and them being on and off relationship
