Remus POV
"Sure, you can sit. We don't mind." I said looking at Peter.
"Thank you" said Lily smiling. "Your name is Remus, right? We have transfiguration together."
"Yea, and your Lily…?"
"Yep"
I think Peter was starting to get nervous with Lily here because he whispered to me, "Y-you know Remus, you can help me with my homework later in the common room." I laughed a little and agreed, he was off.
"I don't understand something." Said Lily.
"What do you mean?" I asked
"I know you're a really nice, and smart boy, so I don't understand why you hang out with people like Potter, and Black, they're nothing but arrogant toerags."
"I know they can be a bit much sometimes, but they're not bad once you get to know them" I said earnestly.
"I don't know…on the train when Severus said he wanted to be in Slytherin they made fun of him."
"Is Severus the boy with the greasy hair?" I asked, but then immediately realized I said something I shouldn't have and quickly corrected myself. "Sorry I didn't mean that. I meant, is Severus the boy you hang out with…?"
"Yes, and he's quite nice." Said Lily. "But anyway, I didn't see you in class today, do you need help with the homework?"
Ok one, I was happy that Lily didn't ask why where I was, and two, I was really happy when she actully asked if I needed help with the homework. "Wait you're going to help me, even though I hang out with James, and Sirius.?"
"I may not like them, but I can see you're not like them, and I dont judge people by who they hang out with." Said Lily smiling. "So, you need help with the homework.?"
"Yes please."
We spent the hour with Lily helping me on my homework, I was about to thank her for everything when I heard a voice from behind me, say, "Hey Remus!" It was James, and Sirius along with Peter. I saw Lily glance at them from under her book. "Hey guys, you find what you were looking for?"
"Yup!" Said Sirius happily
"In fact, we want to show you right now." Said James.
"Ok, sure let me just put these books, away, and thank Lily- "
Two things happened after that. I heard my friends sigh then felt 2 hands under my arms dragging me from my chair. It was James, and Sirius.
"Hey guys! Let me put those books back!" But they paid no attention what so ever.
"Lily, can you please put those books back for me?" I called to her as I was being dragged on the floor by my friends. She smiled, and nodded. "Also, thanks for the help on the homework!"
As soon as we were out of the library, James, and Sirius put me down, and gave me a minute to stand up. When I got up, I said, "ok, whats this special thing you want to show me and how important is it that you had to drag me here."
"James, and Sirius, figured out an idea for a prank!" Peter squeaked
"You said that right Peter!" James said
"Ok, so Remus, you see this painting here?" Sirius asked pointing to a basket of fruits painintg.
I'm wasn't sure what Sirius was going to do with a painting of a basket of fruits, but I nodded. Then Sirius did the weirdest thing. He tickled the pear in the basket, and what happened next made my jaw dop. As soon as Sirius tickled the pear a secret door opened to a huge kitchen packed with house elves running around cooking. I guess my facial expression was pretty funny, because James, and Sirius starting snickering.
We went inside, and immediately house elf with a long pointy nose, and bat ears came up to us.
"Hello students of Hogwarts, I am Brisket. How can Brisket serve you today?"
I looked at my friends, and they grinned back. But then I realized we were here to do a prank…
"Wait how are the house elves going to help us with the prank…?"
"Well, you see the house elves cook the food, and so if we were to ask them to put this non harmful liquid into all of the foods…well, they would." Said Sirius shaking a small vial.
"Ok…but if the liquids no harmful, then whats it going to do to people who eat the food…?" I asked cautiously.
"Its just gonna you know give everyone patterned skin…" Said James grinning way too much.
"Sounds like a good prank to me!" Peter chimed in.
"Yup, we just need to know if you're in Remus, and we'll tell the elves to do their stuff. But if you're not in we understand, and we won't do it." Said Sirius earnestly.
Ok I was shocked, and gratified to be honest. My friends, who I was lying too waited to ask me if I was in this prank or not. I couldn't let them down.
I looked at them, and grinned. "I'm in."
I was immediately tackled into a hug by everyone, but I didn't mind. All I said was," You know we're going to get detention, and probably lose more than 100 house points, then have to deal with everyone shunning us."
All of us laughed at the thought of this for a while then gave the vial to the elves, and went to the great hall for the interesting dinner we would eat tonight.
