Hey guys! JMbuilder here!
And here we go! Another chapter. It just gets harder to write.
Also, I see nobody asked for my idea I told that I have in the last chapter. I guess I will just write it and then I'll see how will be the reception.
Anyway, I don't have to say a lot soo... Review:
- Wolvmbm: Thank you. I don't know if I will ever make Isla and the last personality to be shown of Mike meet each other but I can confirm that it would make a neat bond. Cameron and Dawn are probably the characters that will be kinda helping Zoey and Mike with their characters, where I will even add Dawn as one of the main characters soon. Just need to give more intervention on the plot, without being too much. Scott was intended to be out as, with a detective and curious personality, it was inevitable that his plan wouldn't be found out.
Before going, while I appreciate Wolvmbm's reviews, I realize that he's the only one writing reviews here. Why the rest of the readers don't? I need to see if you are liking too.
With that taken care of, let's read! Enjoy!
Chapter 6 - Runaway Thanks to Bad Taste on Fashion
Research: The systematic investigation into and study of materials and sources to establish facts and reach new conclusions. That's how it is written if you put this word on the search tab. Nowadays, during a time where there is no challenge to be done, it's one of the things that Cameron can do to occupy his own time.
Talking about him, he's now taking notes on his notebook, while sitting on the ground, with his back leaning against a tree.
- "Well..." - He thought. - "When I knew that being on this show would be a different and intriguing experience, I didn't expect that it would bring a lot to research!" - He had to stop talking due to some mutant animals running near him soo fast that he had to cover his head to avoid being accidentally attacked, let's say in that way. After that, he continued his thoughts: - "I mean... The fauna and flora on this island are very fascinating! While dumping radioactive stuff here is harmful to the environment, we have to agree that it is something to do this analysis! Ah... What could be better than-
- "Hello Cameron."
This made the bubble boy startled. At this, he looks around to see where this voice came from. However, he didn't saw anybody by his front, by his left and his right.
- "Up here!" - The voice came out again.
With this clue, he looks up to see Dawn sitting at a tree branch of the tree Cameron is leaning against. At seeing her, he greets:
- "Oh, good morning Dawn! How's it going?"
- "I'm well." - She replied as she jumped out of the tree branch and sit with him. - "With you, it might be too as I see your aura all bright, meaning you're happy."
- "Yeah... I'm just amused due to the island's environment. I couldn't study much about it earlier days and since I got some time for that..."
- "Makes sense."
- "Yup. While I don't agree much with Chris damaging the island's environment, it's still interesting. What about you? How you've been since you got safe from elimination, yesterday?"
- "Very relieved! I mean... Since I got here, I found some evil in some member of the team but didn't know who. When I end up finally discovering that was Scott, I wanted to show it to everybody. And you can guess how much I was desperate to prove my innocence when he tried to frame me."
- "I can guess well. I would feel like that too if it happened to me."
- "Yeah..." - Silence for some seconds. - "So... Coming back to the last topic, how's your research going? You just told me about what are you studying."
- "Going well. I wrote so many things about the environment. Explain how chemical waste affects and understand behavior changes in animals are examples of what I'm writing. Take a look."
With this, he shows one page or two of what he already wrote. And it was very detailed with many words written and many images are drawn. With this, Dawn couldn't react to anything else except surprise.
- "And that's just a part." - The bubble boy added. - "I have some more pages about it."
- "Wow, Cameron." - She answered. - "You wrote a lot about it, didn't you?"
- "Yup. And I intend to continue, while I'm here. But my objective isn't to use all pages. The rest is for future or other present studies."
- "You mean studies like... That one about the odd changes in the personality of Mike and Zoey?"
- "Wha- How-" - Cameron could only let out until he realized what might be the reason for how she knew about it. - "You saw on my aura for that, didn't you?"
- "No. That's not how reading auras work. I just guessed, considering how I sometimes notice you looking attentive at those said changes."
- "Ah... But yes. I'm also studying these recent changes in their behavior. It's a... Page-Turner, let's say like that."
- "Understood. I think I know why these changes happen but it wouldn't be nice to tell it to you."
- "I wouldn't ask it too. If they're hiding, it's because it is because they don't want to. When I finish this study or when I think it's time, I will ask them for confirmation."
- "Uh... I think it's better to confirm just with Mike first." - Dawn replied while rubbing her neck's back.
- "But why?"
- "Well... Ok. While I can't tell why this happens, I can tell how they feel about it, when mentioned. While Mike only feels nervous about it, Zoey also feels... Confused."
- "Confused?"
- "Yes. Confused. Like she doesn't understand why they happen. She wasn't aware of the reason for it happening. So... It isn't a good idea to confirm with her the same way with him."
- "Well... That changes some things." - With this, he turns to some page of his notebook and writes the new information he got. After that, he turns back to Dawn to tell: - "And since we are still here, may I ask about your aura reading?"
- "Of course."
Meanwhile, at the Rats' cabin, Brick and Lightning were talking with each other. And by their tone, it was with happiness.
- "Fellow Rat." - The Soldier told the jock. - "We are going to stop those Maggots! Now without any chance of betrayal, we are a team that can truly trust each other."
- "Agreed!" - Lightning replied. - "And we are still men in the majority!" - Then, he shows his fist to ask for one thing: - "Fist Bump!"
- "Fist Bump!" - Brick said the same thing as he makes a fist with his right hand and bumps Lightning's fist.
- "Fist Bump!" - A third fist, belonging to Sam due to be heard his voice tone, appeared to do the said action to their fists, where... His thumb was weird? Sorry for insulting, if I did.
This made Lightning and Brick get their hands away from that in shock while wincing due to it being weird. After that, Brick asked with a hint of concern:
- "Woah! What happened to your thumb?"
- "Huh?" - Sam reacted after look at the hand he fist-bumped with. At noticing how his thumb was different, he realized the problem and acknowledged: - "Oh! My circus thumb? That's ten years of gaming right there!"
- "Videogames?" - Lightning let out. Then, he shook his head and fold his arms while frowning at Sam and informing him: - "Listen, dude. We two are men. You are just a smelly ball of dough with ears!"
- "Smelly?" - With this word, Sam had to retort with a glare: - "Hey! Gamers are athletes too! We've got keen hand-eye coordination. Cat-Like reflexes. You'll see."
Seconds later, a lot of mousetraps with cheese were on the ground, with Sam looking attentive to a specific one as Brick and Lightning watched this.
- "Heh heh." - Sam sounded as he slowly put his hand near to the trap. - "Come to Papa, cheesy! And..." - After saying the last word, he takes fast the cheese without activating the trap. With this done, he showed the cheese while letting out: - "Boom!"
- "Woo!/Wow!" - Lightning and Brick said, respectively, surprised at Sam's ability.
- "See guys? I-"
He couldn't finish as he forgot about the trap as he walked to his two teammates, making the mousetrap trap his foot, making him yelp in pain. And due to him jumping backward, he ends up falling on the other mousetraps, making him all hurt, and receives flinching and some concern from Brick and Lightning.
Sam's Confessional
- "So... Maybe that wasn't the best way to show my skills. But I'm totally out of practice! Chris confiscated my last handheld console, minutes before the elimination ceremony! I haven't played a videogame in 11 hours, 32 minutes, and 22 seconds! Agh!" - This last sound was due to Sam being desperate. And that was confirmed due to him asking: - "Can someone please send me a game console?!?"
Uh... I'm just a narrator and the show isn't live so... There's no chance. Sorry.
- "Oh..." - Sam answers what I told him in sadness.
End of Confessional
- "IT'S CHALLENGE TIME!!" - Chris's voice was heard from the loudspeakers. - "Campers! Meet me on the other side of the island."
Minutes later, almost everybody was sitting on some benches, with the left ones being for the Maggots and the right one being for the Rats. In from of them, there is a stage, that is similar to the one we've seen in the first season.
As I'm saying this, Mike was the last one to get to the meeting place. When he went to sit on one of the benches, he noticed Zoey as he greets and told her:
- "Hey Zoey. I really like your hair."
- "Oh? Thanks." - The Indie Girl replied. - "I thought before that dying it of red would be more of my style. It's my favorite color, it isn't obvious."
- "Yeah..."
Mike's Confessional
- "I thought that my multiple personalities were messing things up with Zoey. But she seems fine with them. And I thought that Vito would do the worst too but nothing happened again. And when I came back to control yesterday, Zoey didn't act upset again. It was lucky it happening? Maybe."
End of Confessional
The talk was cut off by Chris appearing by landing, due to him using a jetpack to reach here. And he's dressing differently. He was wearing a gray suit with a black tie and shoes and a white shirt and hair wig. Chet also was there dressing... A pink dress and a pink chef hat? What the-
- "Welcome to your challenge!" - Chris announced as Chet removed the jetpack from him. - "The weird and wild fashion spectacular!"
- "Fashion? Now you're talking!" - Anne Maria reacted positively as she sprayed her metal hair. (Get it?)
- "Eh... Fashion." - Jo reacted the opposite as the tanned girl stops spraying. - "Waste of time."
- "So says the girl in men's prison sweats."
- "Hey! Nobody needs to be reminded that I'm a girl!"
- "Sorry, who's a girl?" - Lightning asked in confusion, at hearing this, as he thinks that Jo is a boy.
The host got upset about this argument cutting of the precious time as he shut them off by grabbing a foghorn and turn it on, letting out an "AHOOOTTT!". When he stopped...
- "Zip it!" - He ordered. - "You won't be walking the catwalk! No, no, no no! No amount of fashion can help you, people. Heh heh... Here's how it's gonna work: Each team get a wardrobe of clothes, a makeup kit, and ten minutes to dress and make up a model." - Chris points to a bunch of bags, suitcases, and one closet, full of clothes. - "Which you will send down the runway to be judged by myself, Chet, and today's Total Drama Classic Competitor... Lindsay!"
- "Yay!" - Lindsay got out of the only closet on stage and reacted with excitement. But not due to making a cameo on this season as she added while looking at her blue boots: - "Don't you just love my special fashion judge shoes?"
- "Wow!" - Zoey sounded at this. - "We get to dress an actual model?"
- "Uh-Huh!" - Chris confirmed. - "Right after you catch one."
- "Catch a model?" - Jo asked to after comment: - "Child's play! The way they eat, they'll pass out after three steps!"
Uh... She mentioned that some models have rigorous diets to have the "perfect" body, not caring about consequences? Sigh... How much I feel bad for the path they have chosen for it.
- "Did I say human models?" - Chris pointed out while walking near Lindsay, who was also confused about that. - "I don't think so. No. Your models are in... There!"
The host of the show pointed to the forest, where the blonde making a cameo had to lower herself. After that, a very loud roar was heard from the said forest.
- "They're wild, they're mutated and like me, despise teenagers!" - Chris finished. - "Okay, fashionistas! GO!"
And with the foghorn being used, the two teams dispersed to find some mutated animal that doesn't try to kill them.
A little later, the Maggots and Rats were still searching for the right animal for the "fashion show". The former team initially found a frog. However, when Mike grabbed it, the said animal and human teleported to the air, where Mike fell on the ground while the frog teleported alone. As for the latter team, Lightning found a big turtle, that he checked if it is alive by kicking it. However, it was a mistake as the turtle's tail grabbed the leg with the foot that kicked and throws Lightning away, where it gained a short visit to the medical tent.
Another try was a normal beaver found by Cameron. But, due to this show being dominated by bad luck in most parts, the "beaver" is revealed to be the end of a mutated angler fish. It made the bubble boy let himself fall on the ground and run away with Jo, who was accompanying him. Not even Dawn had her luck as she tried to talk with a mutated bear to get him on the show, just to a mutated beaver scare them away due to being aggressive. It was followed by the bear stop being scared and just watch it, revealing to have THREE eyes, a two-headed rabbit intervening by starting to fight with it, a brother of said beaver trying to help his brother, a squirrel appearing to shoot electricity from its own eyes to them and a giant crab trying to intervene too.
And this last action was seen by Anne Maria, Mike, and Zoey, who were hiding in some bushes.
- "So... Which one do we use?" - Mike asked, with a hint of fear, even though he knew the answer: None of them.
- "Uh..." - Zoey let out while thinking. - "Maybe we should find something that can't eat us."
- "You can't. You will fail the challenge because you won't find it. Sigh... I knew it."
- "Seriously? And you call me pessimist!" - Zoey replied while raising her eyebrow at her teammates.
- "Uh... Red, nobody said anything pessimist." - Anne Maria replied, with a deadpanned expression and a hint of confusion, where Mike also was confused.
- "Huh?" - She sounded. Then, she thought while looking back at the animals fighting against each other: - "Weird... I swear I heard someone. Why this had to happen again?"
- "FIVE MINUTES, PEOPLE!" - Chris's voice was heard from a loudspeaker.
- "Hey guys!" - They all turn to see Jo and Cameron, where the latter was pointing to a giant mutated maggot and a normal tiny maggot. Oh, and the voice came from the latter.- "How about that slimy maggot? The one that's the size of a beagle? It'd be a cinch to catch and dress. We could just... Slide it down the runaway."
- "Killer idea, Bubble Boy!" - Jo commented on his idea.
Hey! Not stealing the nicknames I give to characters to not having to repeat their names all the time!
- "Shut up!" - The jockette ordered me with a frown.
- "All right! Step aside and let me work!" - The tanned girl declared with determination. - "This maggot gotta look banging!"
If "banging" means "Cool" or "Cute"... Go for it!
Meanwhile, with the Rats, they grouped to have a quick meeting due to this challenge going nowhere.
- "Everybody, there's gotta be something on this island we can catch!" - Brick told to his teammates, taking the role of leader. - "More than half of the time is already gone!"
- "Well..." - Lighting looked around and said while trying to find anything. When he found it, he pointed to it and inquired: - "How about that critter?"
- "You mean the Sasquatchanakwa?" - The Aura Whisper asked, recognizing the species, receiving a nod from Lightning. - "I don't know. I don't think he would like being forced on fashion."
- "We don't have much choice with this short time, creepy girl."
- "And even that he liked, how are we gonna get it out and dress it on time?" - It was Sam's turn to ask.
- "Hmm..." - The Soldier thought about some solution. When he found it, he revealed to his team: - "I know-how: Firepower. The only way to take down a formidable enemy. Come on."
With this, he runs to somewhere, with his team following, where Dawn was concerned about what he meant.
Dawn's Confessional
- "I have the feeling that it will get the Sasquatchanakwa hurt. Better hope that 'Firepower' isn't much literal on the name. And yes: I could have suggested that I could have talked to him but, as I said, I don't think he would like fashion much. Trust me."
End of Confessional
Seconds later, the Rats were at the stage of the challenge, watching Brick setting up a bag, with some glue. When he finished, he explained:
- "Team, you are looking at a live DDB." - General English, please! Not the English you are using! - "Detonation Duffel Bag." - Thank you. - "It can forcibly dress any target within its 60-foot blast radius. Clothes, glue, and a little bit of fertilizer! We'll just blast the duds onto him."
- "Now that is how a man gets dressed!" - Lightning commented with a fist bump with Brick.
- "Is it safe?" - Dawn asked, concerned about this method as Sam checks the clothes inside of the bag. - "We shouldn't hurt him!"
- "With clothes, obviously no. Unless there is any elastic but it shouldn't be a problem."
- "Understood..." - The Aura Whisper replied, kinda relieved for it not hurting him, even though she has still that feeling said on the confessional.
- "Army Boots? Puffy Vests? Jock Straps?" - Sam listed while raising his eyebrow. Then, he disagreed with this choice of clothes as he put the bag down: - "It's supposed to be a fashion show! We need some chic, sophisticated, and coordinated looks. And I know just who to talk to."
Coming back to the Maggots, Anne Maria finished dressing the mutant maggot up. Taking a look, said maggot is wearing like a generic Rapper.
- "Aw yeah!" - The tanned teen declared with satisfaction. - "Do I got style or not?"
The maggot answered her question by vomiting on the ground.
- "Um, I agree with the Maggot." - Mike added, with the rest of the team not agreeing with Anne Maria's choice of clothes, much to her chagrin.
- "THREE MINUTES REMAINING!" - Chris declared again, from the loudspeakers.
- "We're running out of time!" - Jo yelled.
- "And by sending these clothes, we will lose!" - The voice of before came out again.
- "Who said we would use these clothes?" - Zoey asked, confusing the team.
- "Zoey, nobody said we would use these clothes." - Cameron countered, with Anne Maria folding her arms and rolling her eyes at his lack of style.
- "What?" - She had to ask. Then, she decided to shrug it off temporarily as she added: - "Forget it. Also, if you guys don't mind... I can take a crack for it."
Everybody agreed with this, with Anne Maria being reluctant about it.
While both teams were doing their stuff, Chris was relaxing by lying on a lounger and drinking some drink on a half of a coconut. When he realized that he finished his drink, he told to a certain someone, that was pushing a barrel, with it rolling:
- "Dakota! When you're done cleaning up the environment, could you get me another drink? Thanks."
She could only stop and groan for being given another task. Luckily, her mood would be more positive since...
- "Dakota, hey!" - Sam ran to her and greeted her. Then, he asked: - "Uh, can I help?"
- "Aw..." - Dakota replied. - "You're such a gentleman."
- "Uh... Thanks." - He replied strangely while rubbing his neck's back. Then, he continued while pushing the barrel with Dakota walking with him: - "Anyways, do you think you could give me some fashion tips? I mean... You're so well put together. Even when working with toxic waste."
- "You want my advice?" - Dakota asked, all genuinely surprised at this request. Then, she got happy as she added: - "Really? No one ever asks me for my advice! Sure, I'd be happy to help!" - At this, they stopped walking and Sam stopped pushing the barrel to look at her. - "Okay, this is a major top-secret, like three whole seasons ahead secret!" - After that, she grabbed Sam's shoulders to be able to get near to one of Sam's ears to whisper: - "Stripes. They are so on-trend!"
- "Stripes!" - The gamer repeats what the "Fame-Monger" whispered to him as she backed away. - "Of course!" - Then, he started running back to his team, not without looking back to tell her: - "Thanks, Dakota! You're an Angel!"
Thanks to being called "Angel", Dakota couldn't help but blush at this.
Back to the Maggots, Zoey finished dressing up maggot, with her team observing. And by their faces, one was uncertain if it would lead them to the win while the rest was without emotion as they were waiting.
- "There!" - 'Red' declared after finishing. Then, she asked for feedback from her team: What do you think? Too much? Too little? Be honest, unless you hate it."
- "Wow Zoey, not bad." - Cameron commented.
- "It's not good either." - The tanned girl retorted.
- "ONE MINUTE!" - Chris declared from the loudspeakers.
- "It's fine!" - Jo ended the discussion to avoid wasting more time. - "We're not spending all day on this. Let's get back to Chris."
Back to the Rats, Lightning was holding the "bomb" while he and the others hide behind a rock.
- "I guarantee that I still think that this is a terrible idea." - Dawn had to confess.
- "Don't worry, Dawn. I already told you that it won't hurt him." - Brick tried to reassure her.
- "Physically, probably..." - She whispered.
- "Less talking, more action!" - Lightning declared. - "The striped duffel bomb is ready for the big game! Go long!"
He throws the bag to Sam, who runs into the cave to throw to the inside of it, revealing the Sasquatchanakwa... Watching tv? What in the world? Whatever. He was calm and relaxed watching his favorite show. Suddenly, the bag lands on his knees, making him get confused. But when the said bad exploded...
- "GHAAAAARRRRR!" - The beast roared in anger.
With this, the Rats got scared and ran away, making the beast follow them.
Dawn's Confessional
- "On second thought, I should have suggested talking to him. Why I didn't predict this..."
End of Confessional
Lights pointing to the stage are turned on, meaning that the challenge will start right away. In front of said stage, there was a jury table, with three chairs, where two are occupied by Lindsay and Chet, with the last one wearing red rapper clothes, that are cooler than the ones Anne Maria used on that maggot. As for Chris, he was on the stage to be also the host of the fashion show. What a coincidence...
- "It's freaky forest fashion time!" - Chris announced. Then, he turned back to tell to the Maggots team, that git on stage first: - "'Maggotiers', show me something fierce." - After that, he turned back to Chet, who had a vinyl record player to order him: - "Chet, drop that needle!"
Chet does what he was ordered, giving some music to the challenge.
- "This gorgeous plus sized maggot is showing off a bold retro fashion like no other!" - Anne Maria declared as a maggot appears on stage wearing... Wait... Let the tanned girl say herself. - "Her swank new hairdo perfectly complements a dynamite vintage 60s gogo dress!"
She finished by giving a disgusted face while showing her tongue for a second.
- "Little gross what with the oozing and squirming." - Chris commented after add while holding a paper showing the score: - "I give it an 8.5."
The Maggots cheered at this. Chet gave an 8, as he liked it too. As for Lindsay, she gave, with a smile,... 1.8? But, after complaints from the team and the maggot vomiting on Chet, the blonde got confused and looked over the paper, showing the score, she was holding. When she realized her mistake, she let out an "Oops" and turned 180 degrees the paper, revealing that she meant to give an 8.1. And thanks to the vomiting targeting Chet, he turned the paper 180 degrees too, changing the score to a 0.8.
- "Okay." - Chris resumed the challenge, as the Maggots left the stage. - "Show me what you got, Rats."
The jury waited for what the Rats had to show. However, for some seconds, neither them and neither the mutant model appeared. Before the host could ask for them again, Sam ran on stage, with his team following. At reaching the end of the stage, Sam explained what they have to show:
- "As you can see, yeti is wearing a smart bohemian striped ensemble!"
After those words, the Sasquatchanakwa appeared on stage, wearing the clothes that the Rats put on the bag, all mad. When he noticed the Rats, he ran in their direction, making Lightning jump away and Brick being punched away.
- "Sasquatchanakwa... Please. We can explain why we did this if you calm down..." - Dawn tried to calm him down.
Initially, the beast decided to ignore the Aura Whisper's request, prepared to roar at her. However, he noticed that she didn't look either prepared to run away or mad at him. And to tell the truth, she gives him a calm vibe. With this, he calms down a bit but he's still mad as he glares at the Gamer, as he was the culprit.
- "Well... That happened." - Lightning had to comment.
- "Why she didn't suggest talking to it before?" - Brick thought as he came back, with a black eye.
Ask her later because she has already a justifiable answer for that. Coming back to the story, Sam continued his explanation, more relaxed due to not being in danger for now:
- "The outfit consists of a variety of garments applied forcefully to random parts of his body."
- "Ahh!" - Lindsay let out in surprise. But not due to the clothes as she tells Chet: - "That thing is huge!"
- "Huh?" - The beast was confused as he was huge due to his height. Everybody could see that he was huge!
- "Ew! Horizontal stripes?" - Dakota suddenly appeared near the stage and let out in disgust. Then, she had to clarify what she advised him: - "Sam, I meant vertical stripes! Horizontal just make you look fat!"
- "They do?" - The Gamer asked as he looked down at his shirt and the beast's sweater.
The beast looked down at his sweater too, to realize that it REALLY made him look fat.
- "True." - Chris confirmed. - "It hardly complements the yeti's husky physique."
It was an embarrassment for the Sasquatchanakwa. And didn't help either that a lot of paparazzi appeared to shoot photos at him, making Dakota mad as she was the one she called and the photos were supposed to be of her. With too many flashes, the beast rubbed his eyes. After this, he rips the clothes he's wearing and gets mad again as he roars.
- "Chris is right!" - Lindsay was no help as she decided to comment at the worst time. - "Stripes are so-"
She couldn't finish her comments as the Sasquatchanakwa jumps out of the stage and grabs Lindsay and Chris' jetpack to fly away to the Boney Island
- "Hey! He took my jetpack!" - The host complained. Then, he turned to the camera to ask: - "Will Lindsay survive? And am I legally liable if she doesn't? Find out after the break!"
- "WHAT?!?"
This voice came out from Chris, that was on a dock, as he was on the phone, talking to the lawyers about liability. And it should be bad news just for him.
- "What do you mean I'm liable if the Yeti eats Lindsay?!?" - Chris continued. - "It's not my fault she's delicious!"
What in the world?!? Why would you say that? And the remaining contestants surely agree with me as they got shocked at Chris' words. When the host noted this, he finished his call with a "Gotta go!" to declare to the contestants nervously:
- "He-He-Hey! For our next challenge, the two teams will compete to rescue Lindsay! Yup, that's it!" - This was received with strange looks from the teams as they didn't believe that the challenge was supposed to exist due to what we heard him saying on the call. - "Now grab a canoe and head to Boney Island!"
After the explanation, the teams run to the canoes, to use them to reach the island. With the Rats, there was some tension due to certain "tips" someone got.
- "Your fashions tips were really helpful!" - Lightning commented sarcastically as he glared at Sam, where he was the only one not paddling as he wasn't feeling good.
- "Sorry guys..." - Sam apologized slowly. - "I haven't played a video game for so long that my brain's not working!" - And true to his words, by his vision, two ducks turned pixelated had targets on them. At seeing this, with square eyes, he asked his team: - "Uh... Did you guys see that just now?"
- "See what?" - Lightning had to ask, in confusion.
- "In another topic." - Brick said. - "If you could talk with animals, why you didn't suggest talking with that yeti, Dawn?"
- "Because, as I said, I don't think he is ever interested in fashion." - Dawn replied. - "And to say the truth, I was tired of being interrupted by some animals attacking. Shoot... Soo much for peace..."
- "Ok. I see your point."
After those words, a lot of fog appeared, adding a terrifying feeling. After paddling through the fog, they reach Boney Island. After pulling the canoes over the coast, both teams left from them to try to search for Lindsay.
- "Lindsay! Where are you?" - Zoey yelled and asked for being heard by the blonde making a cameo. - "Shoot... Where we will find her? This island looks big!"
- "Simple: You won't. She is already missing forever."
- "She isn't missing forever if we don't try to find her!" - Zoey replied, making her team confused.
- "Missing forever?" - Jo asked her. - "What do you mean?"
- "Huh? Nobody here didn't say that? Strange..."
- "Zoey, you're okay?" - Cameron inquired her, with concern. - "It's the second time you think we said something when we didn't."
- "Third." - Mike corrected, also concerned for the Indie Girl.
- "Third? But still..."
- "Sorry guys..." - Zoey apologized, putting a hand on her forehead. - "I'm hearing voices and I don't know where they come from. I think the radiation of toxic waste is making me hallucinate..."
- "I don't think that is the reason." - Anne Maria countered - "We are all exposed to it. And we look still fine."
- "Unless it affects people to turn them lazy..." - Jo joked, briefly looking at the tanned girl, making her mad. The jockette knew that isn't how it works. It was to annoy her.
Cameron could only scratch his head to understand until he remembered about his study. This challenge made him forgot about that. As for Mike...
Mike's Confessional
- "Relatable for me. Sometimes, I can hear my personalities talking, you know?"
End of Confessional
- "We found the yeti!" - Lightning's voice was heard.
- "Whatever why you are hearing voices, I hope it goes away. We need to win the challenge!" - Jo said, to avoid wasting time.
- "Yeah... I hope so."
In Zoey's mind...
- "AGAIN, ROLF?!?" - Commando Zoe's scolding was heard. - "I TOLD TO NOT TALK TO HER!"
- "But I didn't!" - Rolf rolled his eyes and replied, in a bored tone. - "I just heard her and I told myself an answer that I would give to it."
- "Yes, and I am the PM of Canada! Do you think I believe in that?"
- "No. But it's the truth."
- "He's not lying, Zoe " - Isla defended Rolf, after checking for any signal of lying. - "I don't 'c' anything of different from his behaviour that shows that what he said is a lie."
- "Really?" - Zoe asked, rubbing her chin. - "Then how Zoey heard him?"
- "Some questions better be left unanswered."
- "Seriously, Isla?"
Coming back to the real world, the Maggots reached where the Rats found the 'yeti' and Lindsay: On the top of some scaffolding. And it looks like that the same animal is being comforted by the former contestant.
- "Oh, it's okay, Yeti." - Lindsay told to the Sasquatchanakwa, where the latter was feeling sad. - "The world just can't handle beauty like yours. You're a snowflake. But just like... A lot bigger. Like... I mean a lot!"
- "Not that this moment is interesting and all but what's with all the scaffolding?!?" - Anne Maria had to ask.
- "I'm turning Boney Island into my personal resort." - Chris answered her as he appeared with Chet, wearing their normal clothes, and Dakota. - "The health department said it was unfit for human life, but I sent the workers anyway." - The host stopped to think about that. After some seconds, he let out: - "Hmm... I wonder where they went."
This was received with shocked looks at each other from the remaining contestants.
- "Don't hurt him!" - The blonde that was captured alerted them, who's now sitting on his lap, with him holding her. - "He just has big hairy body issues!"
- "I hear that..." - Jo thought out loud. She only realized that she didn't just think that phrase as she noticed the others looking at her confused, forcing the jockette to shift the focus back at the yeti: - "I mean, did you hear that? He's got issues! We've gotta take that psycho Yeti out!"
- "This is what team Rat is going to do." - Brick declared, holding another 'bomb' used before. - "Take this hairball!"
- "BRICK, NO!" - Dawn tried to stop him.
Her words weren't heard as the soldier runs to the down part of the scaffolding and throw the 'bomb' against the Sasquatchanakwa. After the explosion, with Lindsay jumping away, the beast... Is dressed like a little kid? This was received with laughs from both teams, except Dawn, that shook her head, knowing that it will make things worse. And true to what she predicted, the Yeti gets mad again and jumps with fury. At some point, the scaffolding fell in a way that turns into a perfect path to get to the top, like it is some stairs. After that, he rips his clothes apart.
- "The part of the cause of this isn't always the solution..." - Dawn told Brick, folding her arms, making the soldier rub his back.
Irony due to the first chapter of this story.
- "That doesn't matter now, gang!" - Lightning decided to take control for a little. - "We'll make a three-pong against the Yeti! One player on the left, one on the right, and one straight down the middle."
- "What about private pudding?" - The soldier asked, pointing to Sam, that was asking to be able to play a game and see his hands pixelated.
- "Better leave him there." - The Aura Whisper replied. - "He doesn't look okay due to his lack of gaming."
- "Understood." - Lightning agreed. - "Team, let's go!"
While they run to get to the top...
- "How are we gonna rescue Lindsay before they do?" - 'Red' had to ask.
- "Perhaps we can get someone prettier than Lindsay to lure the yeti away!" - Cameron suggested.
- "Oh, hey!" - Anne Maria had to warn them about it. - "I got the foods but no way I am running up to that junk pile in these shoes!"
The shoes? REALLY?
- "Well... I guess maybe I could try." - Zoey let out, just to be pushed away by Jo, making Mike grab her to not let her fall.
- "Maggots, break out the beauty products!" - Jo declared, offering to do it. - "I'm going in!"
Jo's Confessional
- "I do this only for the good of the team! It's not the makeup. It's war paint!"
End of Confessional
- "Yeah! Go, team! Shabam!" - Lightning said as he and Brick use the poles of the scaffolding to climb while Dawn ran up the ramps.
However, the yeti saw them with a glare Then, he noticed wood barrels near him. With this, he picks one and throws it against the jock of the Rats, sending him to the ground. Sam could be said to the soldier. And finally turned to the Aura Whisper, who was on the second of the four ramps. And when she saw what the Sasquatchanakwa was going to do, she tried to stop him:
- "Sasquatchanakwa, please! Sorry for that humiliation. We di-"
She was cut off by the yeti throwing the barrel against her, sending her to the ground too, as he didn't trust her anymore, after convincing him to calm down just to end up being humiliated like that. With that, the Rats trying to get to the top ended up landing in a pile, all hurt.
- "Ow..." - The three sounded of pain.
Meanwhile, Sam was healing better from the lack of videogames. At some point, he looks at the scaffolding, with the yeti and Lindsay on the top, with a confused look. Then, his mood turned into a surprised and happy one as, in his vision, he is comparing this part of the challenge to Donkey Kong, with also seeing that he has one life left.
- "Woah... Videogame World!" - Sam asserted with a smile. - "My ultimate gamer dream come true!" - Then, he gets up with a determined expression as he also says: - "Still one life left. It's all on me now. Let's do this!"
And START! Sam uses the ramps to get to the top while letting out sounds from videogames.
- "Wow, he's booking it!" - Lightning confessed as he and the rest of the Rats got up.
The beast also noticed the gamer and decided to throw the barrels against him, but this time, by letting them roll and fall on each ramp. But it didn't stop Sam as he jumps to avoid being hit successfully.
- "Sam! Look out!" - Dakota yelled at him, pointing to something.
And said something is a big wooden hammer on the ground, who the gamer picks and uses to smash any barrel rolling in his direction.
As this happened, the Maggots were still preparing, with Zoey and Anne Maria putting the makeup on Jo's face.
- "Okay, you're sure this will make me look good, right?" - Jo had to ask.
- "Oh yeah! The only person who could give you a smokin' hot makeup job like this is me!" - Anne Maria replied, with a smirk.
- "Or a circus clown." - Zoey said while rolling her eyes.
- "HEY!"
- "Hurry!" - Mike told them while pointing to how good the Rats are doing. - "Sam's making good time!" - After that, he put his hand on his forehead as he added: - "Oh, man... We're never gonna-" - Suddenly, he gasped, letting Chester come out to assert with frustration: - "Oh for the love a Pete! You're not painting the Sistine Chapel! It's just makeup!"
After that, he walks to the girls to push the Indie and the tanned girls away and take a brush to paint Jo's face himself, while mumbling some things. And by the other's face, it's just making this worse.
- "Stop! This way we are never-" - That's all Zoey could try to make Chester stop before getting a headache, letting Rolf come out as part of her hair covers one of her eyes and says while pushing the old personality away: - "I knew it. We are never gonna win this... We were just lucky before."
- "What the-" - Chester reacted. - "Who taught you that you could push who's older than you away?"
- "Since when they make things worse than they are... Sigh..."
- "Like you knew anything." - Chester countered after try to resume his work on Jo by adding: - "Let the others do the job and learn to respect the older ones!"
- "Weird..." - Anne Maria muttered at this.
- "Enough!" - Jo declared and pushed him away. - "It's good enough already, in this way, no?"
Anne Maria and Cameron couldn't say anything as they were shocked at what they are seeing. At the same time, Brick took a look at how the other team is doing just to gasp and faint at seeing Jo's face.
- "Wow..." - Jo let out, all surprised, not knowing the truth. - "Now I know what they mean by drop-dead knockout. Heh heh!" - Then, she starts walking to get to the top of the scaffolding while letting out in a loud volume: - "Oh yeti! Your princess is here!"
- "Um, Jo." - Cameron tried to warn her. - "You should probably look-"
- "Relax That poor Yeti won't know what hit him!"
- "Whoa!" - Mike exclaimed, already in control, at walking back and seeing Jo's face, with Zoey coming back too with another headache: - "What did you guys do to Jo?"
- "Uh..." - Zoey replied, all confused at his words and noticing Jo's face too. - "What we did to Jo?"
- "Right choice of words, 'Red'." - Anne Maria told him while folding her arms. - "What you two did to Jo."
This gained confused looks from Mike and Zoey.
Coming back to Sam, he was at the top of the scaffolding, all tired and practically dragging the hammer he was using. He was so tired that he gave up on the hammer to jump above another barrel rolling in his direction, but this time, he fell on the ramp, almost giving up.
- "Oh..." - The gamer let out. - "Boy, I could really use a power-up..."
In his vision, he noted that his life bar is almost all red.
- "Come on, Sam!" - Brick tried to motivate him by saying those words at him - "You're almost there!"
- "Go get him, you crazy couch potato!" - Lightning declared at him too, with excitement.
- "There's still some energy that you can still use to defeat him!" - It was Dawn's turn.
- "You can do it, Sam!" - Dakota was the last one to motivate him.
With a lot of motivation being sent to him, he gets up, all wet due to his sweat, and screamed to run and punch the yeti away... Just to the Sasquatchanakwa stopping him by grabbing his hand with a "Really?" face and throw him to the ground, with his team flinching.
- "Game Over!" - Brick had to declare, with a concerned expression.
- "Are you okay, Sam?" - The only female of the Rats asked him and get down to check on the gamer.
- "Am I done all my lives?" - Sam inquired, in response.
At the top, the yeti was looking down, prepared to attack the next person that dares to defeat him, with Lindsay worried at what might happen to them and at him. Suddenly, Jo reaches to the top, getting their attention. Just to see her face. It was all ugly, with how the makeup was painted on her. And if in the canon it was bad enough, in this story, it was worse as her forehead was also painted in a bad way. God... The border of her hair on her face was even painted in a different color.
- "Hey..." - Jo tried to flirt with the Yeti. - "Sweet little... Hairball... Feel like a tall glass of gorgeous?"
During her talking, she made poses that some models do to show their beauty, even that, in this case, it wouldn't work. At some point, Lindsay had to tell to the Sasquatchanakwa:
- "See? That's another 'What not to do'!"
This was followed with a laugh from the beast and the former contestant. Of course, it made Jo shocked and later mad as she said:
- "Hey! What's so funny, you big ape?!?"
The next thing we knew is that the beast was thrown away due to Jo punching him. Wow... She has a lot of strength! Neat!
- "Thank you." - Jo thanked me.
At the ground, Sam was still on the ground, with Dakota complimenting his effort on the challenge:
- "Those were some pretty great moves up there!"
- "Thanks." - The gamer thanked her. - "People don't give us gamers much credit but- OW!"
And why he let out this sound? Simply, he was hurt due to the yeti landing on him.
- "That'll teach you to not laugh at a beautiful lady!" - Jo added, still talking to the yeti.
- "Team Maggot." - Chris declared while flying with a backup jetpack. - "You've got immunity!"
It was received with cheers from the said team while the Rats were shocked for having another losing streak.
- "Oh come on!" - Lightning let out.
Jo was also happy due to winning but she had to know why the yeti laughed at her. When she noted Lindsay using her mirror, she snatches it while saying:
- "Let me see that!" - At seeing herself on the said mirror, she gasped at how her face was messed up thanks to the makeup. Then, she looks down while mad and asserting: - "Just add some Rough, huh? It was already worse, HUH?!?" - She takes some barrels to throw at Mike's and Zoey's direction while yelling: - "Hey 'Chester' and 'Rolf'! Try to argue while I give you this 'makeover'!"
With that, the mentioned two teammates had to try to dodge the barrels thrown at them, asking what they did. Yup. Thinking that needs just a thing and pushing someone to put makeup on her face were bad ideas. Not that we can blame them.
- "As much as I'd love to let this go on forever, it's time to head back to the camp!" - Chris had to put a stop to this. Then, he turns to the losing team to tell them: -- "Rats, you've got some voting to do!"
Later, at night, for some reason, both teams were at the elimination ceremony. While the Maggots were wondering what they were doing there, the Rats were waiting for the final result.
- "Well, that was a fiasco." - Chris told to the Rats. - "Brick, you bagged yourself a fashion fail." - This made Brick ashamed of himself. - "And Sam, you just totally dropped the barrel on this one." - This also made Sam ashamed of himself. - "So one of the Rats is going home tonight. But it's not gonna be Dawn or Lightning. You're both safe." - Chris throws one marshmallow at each one of the safe contestants of said team, where they grab them, with the addition of Lightning letting out a "Sha-Sweet!". With that done, Chet opens the box with the radioactive marshmallow inside as the host continues: - "Now... The toxic marshmallow of loserdom goes to..."
Brick and Sam were with a sad expression and very nervous due to being the two most voted on their team. After some seconds of tension... The shock happens.
- "NOBODY!"
- "HUH?" - Both teams exclaimed, all confused.
- "You heard right. Nobody. And why I say this, you may ask? Because Sam and Brick are tied 2-2!"
- "Sha-What?" - Lightning let out.
- "How's that possible?" - Brick asked. - "How I got tied with Sam?"
- "Yeah!" - Sam agreed with that question. - "For one second, I thought that would be 3-1, with me losing, with one of Brick's votes coming from me."
- "If Sam voted for me and I voted for him, then..." - Brick thought before looking at the safe contestants to inquire them: - "May I ask which one of you voted for me too?"
- "Sigh..." - Dawn let out before raising her right hand, meaning that it was she who voted for him. - "I told you that the 'bomb' was a bad idea. And I tried to warn you to not make things worse by throwing another 'bomb'. Sam just mistook what he was advised so..."
- "Well... That explains it. Mental Note: Listen to others before doing anything."
- "May I continue?" - The host asked, all impatient, making both teams look back at him. - "Before explaining what you need to do on the tiebreaker..." - Chris looks at the winning team. - "Mutant Maggots you might be probably wondering why I asked you to sit on this elimination ceremony. I was going to tell you after a Rat gets eliminated. But since we have a tiebreaker, I have to do it now. All I need is a strong volunteer from your team."
- "I'm right here!" - Jo declared while getting up.
- "Good. Then... Prepare to pack your bags. Oh who I'm kidding? I don't give time for people to prepare to pack. I said this because, while the loser of the tiebreaker will be eliminated, the winner will not just be able to stay on the game but also switch teams with Jo!"
Gasps were heard from both teams at this news. Shoot... They couldn't do just the tiebreaker?
- "Nope." - Chris replied to my question, not caring that it was rhetorical. - "Now... What will consist of the said tiebreaker? A short and quick version of Part Two of today's challenge! And thank Sam for giving the idea!"
Two interns appear with a lot of barrels in a cart.
- "Simply, for the tiebreaker, both contestants have to avoid the barrels by jumping or dodging. Sounds easy, right? If being thrown in their direction, getting fire or anything else is easy, then you're right."
Brick and Sam looked at each other, gulping at this. Then, they walk to where the inters would let the barrels roll or thrown said barrels at them.
- "Ready?" - Chris asked, with a smile. Then, with a foghorn, he announces: - "GO!"
With this, the interns start pushing the barrels to make them roll or just throw them in Brick's and Sam's direction. Initially, it was just normal barrels. But then, it got harder: First, an intern put fire on a wooden barrel and pushes it away in the Soldier's and Gamer's direction, before it burns his hands. Then, it was barrels with snakes' heads getting out of some holes, meaning that, if they bite the contestants, that would be the ticket to be eliminated. It was followed by what it looks like frozen barrels, that make them roll faster than the others, barrels with strong lights on them to make it hard to be able to see them, and even a barrel with heavier objects inside was thrown to hit someone hard.
The tiebreaker took a lot of time to be done, with Brick and Sam being very skilled at dodging or jumping from them. But then, Sam got cramps and fell on the ground, due to not be used to a lot of real jumps. Not even in the challenge did that amount of jumps. With that, a barrel rolls over Sam, with Brick dodging one being thrown at him, meaning...
- "Brick wins!" - Chris announced. - "Meaning that it will be him who will switch with Jo while Sam will be the one taking a ride on the Hurl of Shame!"
Brick cheers, not just because he was able to stay but also due to switching back to his former team. Meanwhile, Sam gets up cautiously.
- "Aw..." - Sam lets out while the Marshmallow of Loserdom is thrown at his head, making him put a hand on the affected area.
Brick and Sam go wall back to the area of the elimination ceremony.
- "Well... Looks like I'm out of 'continues'." - Then, he turns to the Rats to add: - "Sorry I couldn't have been more help to you, guys."
- "That's okay, Sam. You did your best." - Aura Whisper replied, making Lightning roll his eyes.
- "Semper Fi!" - Brick decided to tell Sam and salute him. Oh, and if you're asking, I found out that is Latin for "Always faithful" or "Always Loyal".
- "Uh... Thanks, Brick." - The gamer thanked the Soldier by saluting him back.
After that, Chet picks him by his sweater to get him on the Hurl of Shame.
- "Now that was taken care of..." - The host declared. - "Jo. Brick. You can now switch teams."
With that, Jo and Brick switch teams. However, when they are in front of each other, the soldier shows her a hand to shake hands while adding:
- "Good luck on the Rats."
- "No need. I already have." - The jockette replied and walked away, without shaking hands, making Brick sigh before walking to his "new" team.
- "Hey guys!" - The soldier greeted the Maggots while sitting next to them.
- "Welcome back to the team, Brick!" - Mike greeted back.
- "Welcome back." - Anne Maria greeted back too, not caring much.
- "How did it go when you were just with them?" - Cameron asked him.
- "Well, luckily. They were actually very friendly to me." - The Soldier replied.
- "That's good to know." - It was Zoey's turn to tell something to him.
At the Rats, Jo sits next to the Rats. After that, Lighting cheers:
- "Aw yeah! The team remains with men in the majority! OW!"
This last sound was due to Jo poking his eyes, where she wasn't happy for being considered as a man.
- "Get your eyes checked, Jockstrap!" - She scolded Lightning.
- "Hello Jo." - Dawn greeted herself to the new teammate.
- "Oh... Hi Dawn."
With this done, the Maggots and remaining Rats go back to their cabins, needing a lot of sleep due to today's excitement.
That's it! Let's stop here!
You didn't expect the tiebreaker, didn't you? It was very obvious to me. Dawn really tried to warn Brick but he didn't listen and Sam only mistook what he was recommended to use on the fashion challenge so it made sense. The challenge of the tiebreaker itself was hard to see how it would happen until I thought about Sam jumping to avoid the barrels.
Talking about Dawn, it wasn't easy to write her, considering that in the canon, she was eliminated in the former episode. I tried to make her not OOC. While in other chapters, I just add what she actually says in the canon and just adds one or two extra dialogues that are related to what she is reacting to, here I need to make more than that.
I was intending to have more after the elimination ceremony and the tiebreaker but I didn't have any idea without it looking filler so I gave up.
And... That's it. I hope you liked this chapter. Favorite, Follow, and Review.
Now... Need to go! Bye!
