*Sylveon's Perspective*

"Mmgg...ugh…"

I start to groan as I wake up feeling something wet rubbing my ear. I slowly open my eyes to see Glaceon licking me.

"I'm awake, Glace."

She stops licking and smiles at me.

"Good."

I tilt my head, confused on why she's up so early. As if she's reading my mind, she speaks up.

"I have an idea on how to start regaining Nick's trust!"

My ears perk up.

"Do tell me."

Glaceon's eyes are sparkling.

"Let's go bring him some Berries from Viridian Forest!"

I just stare at her for a minute, then my ears droop. My sister can have the craziest ideas sometimes.

"Uh...Sylveon? What's wrong?"

I look her dead in the eyes.

"That is NOT a good idea!"

"SHHH! Do you want to wake up Nick and Mari? I mean, we are still under Mari's bed for crying out loud!"

I shake my head.

"Anyway, Sylvie...WHY is it a bad idea? This could be our ticket to earning Nick's trust!"

I frown.

"Or it could be a one-way trip to being captured by Team Rocket or becoming a Pokemon's lunch."

"Nonsense, sister. We can do this!"

I sigh.

"I don't suppose there is any way to convince you to not go through with this?"

Glaceon shakes her head eagerly.

"Nope! Now Come on let's go!"

I squirm out from under the bed at the same time as my sister, still wondering why I am letting her drag me into this. After I shake my drowsiness away, I head over to the door and use my feelers to open it. Glaceon rushes past me, making me almost let go of the doorknob. Then, I silently close it behind me. Then I see Glaceon looking at me, and she smiles. I immediately sighed.

"Whatever. Let's just get this over with. We don't want to make Mari and Gardevoir worry about us."

Glaceon nods, and we tiptoe downstairs. As we walk past the couch, Gardevoir stirs in her sleep, causing both of us to freeze. Soon, she falls back into a deep sleep, and my sister and I relax. We leave the house and go to the center of Pallet Town. I look up, and see the moon shining bright. Then I look at the entrance of the town and see Glacey rushing towards it. I shake my head and then run after her. We quickly go to Route 1. However, just before Glaceon is able to bolt down the route, I use a feeler to hold her back.

"What is it, Sylveon?"

"There are Trainers on the path. Let's take extra care to avoid them."

My sister nods. Then we tiptoe through the tall grass. Glaceon whispers to me.

"I'm surprised we haven't encountered any Ghost-Types yet."

I glare at her.

"Shush! Do you WANT us to be found?"

She immediately pales and shakes her head before racing after me as I had bolted towards the forest, eager to just get this over with. Soon we reach the forest entrance, and I grab Glaceon with a feeler and pull her close to me.

"Stick close, sis. It's very dark."

"O-ok."

I lead us both through the forest, and we come to a clearing. Then we see some Berries at the base of a tree. Glaceon gives an exclamation of glee, before rushing to the Berries.

"Sis WAIT!"

I run after her, then suddenly I feel a stinging pain in my side, and then look over to see a green spider looking angrily at me.

(Great, I've just been poisoned by a Spinarak.)

Then suddenly I get grabbed by a large String Shot before getting lifted up into the air. Soon I am trapped in a web, and look up to see an Ariados staring back at me while tightening up its web. I gulp in fear, then turn to my left upon hearing a whimper. It is Glaceon! I am about to speak and express how much this is her fault when another String Shot covers our mouths. I turn my head to look at Glaceon and glare angrily at her. I see her ears droop as she notices my piercing glare. Then I give an internal sigh, before realizing that the Ariados is approaching us. My eyes widen as I am now fearing for my life.

(Someone has to save us!)

Then it bites me and I pass out.

*Mari's Perspective*

*Yawwwwnnnnn*

"Ugh...good morning Gardevoir!"

I open my eyes to see my graceful Psychic-Fairy Type smiling down at me. She is gently shaking my shoulder.

"How did you sleep, Mari?"

"Peacefully."

"That's good. I know you still suffer from occasional nightmares about being abused by Team Flare, but don't worry, you still got me."

I squeeze her shoulder affectionately.

"That's right, I still have you. My first Contest Partner."

Gardevoir blushes.

"We should probably wake up Nick."

I look over at the kid, sleeping so peacefully.

"Yea…"

I get up, revealing my Sneasel PJs. Then I walk over to the sleeping bag and crouch down.

"Niiiick...wakey wakey…"

He groans. I shake his shoulder. He opens his eyes.

"Morning sleepyhead."

"M-morning M-M-Mari."

He sits up and I unzip the sleeping bag to let him stand up. Then I look around.

"Where are Sylveon and Glaceon?"

Gardevoir shrugs.

"Probably on an early morning stroll."

I narrow my eyes as I don't think that's the case.

"I dunno…"

I decide to just let it go for now.

"OH! That's right!"

I remembered that I need to help Nick choose an outfit from the many pairs I bought him. Gardevoir most definitely read my mind as a few pairs of clothes float over to us.

"Nick, you get to pick out your own outfit this time!"

He looks surprised and then hesitantly reaches out for the third pair, which consists of a red striped shirt, black slacks, blue socks, and brown shoes with straps. Gardevoir nods and drops it in his hands. Then I turn back to him.

"I hope that you remember how to use the shower?"

He quickly nods.

"Yes, yes I do."

"OK! Good to hear. Now, I'll be downstairs making breakfast. Gardevoir will wait outside the bathroom, just in case you need my help. You can shout to her through the door, and she can send me a telepathic message to run upstairs and help you out."

"O-ok…"

I walk with him, and Gardevoir, to the bathroom and stay there until he enters and closes the door. Then I head downstairs and start making some eggs and pancakes. Soon they are done and I hear Nick's footsteps, followed by the light stips of Gardevoir.

"That was fast! Well, I just finished making breakfast. Let's eat."

As we are eating, I become increasingly more worried about my two fox Pokémon.

"Where are Sylvy and Glacey? I'm worried…"

"Maybe the walk took them to Viridian City again?"

"I hope so…"

Nick speaks up.

"Maybe w-we c-c-could meet them there?"

I smile at him.

"Of course! That's a great idea! Hold on, let us girls shower and change!"

Nick follows us upstairs and into my room. I see him grab the Lugia plush toy, and then I dash with Gardevoir to the bathroom. After a quick shower, I emerge from the bathroom with another tomboyish outfit. Then we head downstairs and go out onto the front porch.

"Huh, I though Sylveon and Glaceon would've been back here by now if they went on a walk, even if it was to Viridian City."

Gardevoir looks at me, worried.

"I hope they didn't run into any trouble in the forest...we need to hurry!"

I grab Nick's left hand as Gardevoir grabs his right, and we run through the first half of Route 1 again.

"Hey!"

I ignore the youngster trying to get my attention. I don't want to meet his eyes and get locked into a battle. Soon we are at the entrance to the forest again. I sigh.

"Ok, Nick. To make sure you feel safe, just hold on to my hand so Gardevoir can attack any who threaten us. Ok?"

He nods, then I notice something that makes me feel so stupid for not noticing it earlier.

"Gardevoir?"

"Yea?"

"Nick...he has a limp."

"What?"

"Yea. How did we not notice it before?"

Gardevoir looks thoughtful.

"Well...we always held his hand and basically carried him."

"Yea…"

Then I realized Nick was walking ahead of us. I sprint up to him.

"Nick...what did I just say?"

"I'm sorry...I just am also feeling a little worried about your Pokémon. Especially since I feel kind of responsible if anything happens to them, since I think they feel like they need to regain my trust."

My hand flies to my mouth as I gasp.

"Oh my gosh! They probably DID! Oh no...they must be in the forest! We need to hurry!"

I run with Nick and Gardevoir through the forest, holding onto Nick's left arm tightly so he cannot run off again. Soon we come to a clearing that looks different than the clearing we met Mistine in. I raise my voice to call for my Pokémon.

"GLACEON! SYLVEON! WHERE ARRREEE YOOOOUUUU?!"

Suddenly I hear a muffled sound come from above us. I look up and gasp as I see my beloved Pokémon trapped in a spider web.

"GLACEON! SYLVEON! DON'T WORRY WE'LL FREE YOU!"

Then I hear Nick whimper in fear and Gardevoir telepathically speaks to me.

"Uh, Mari…"

I look back down to face ahead of us...and jump back when I see the biggest Ariados I've ever seen. It's gotta be at least twice the normal size! Gardevoir steps in front of us, then begins speaking to the Ariados. The poisonous bug says its cry over and over. Then Gardevoir gasps and turns to face us.

"What's wrong, Gardevoir?"

Gardevoir looks very upset.

"She said she wants something for her children to eat."

"WHAT?! NO! I'M NOT LETTING THEM EAT MY POKéMON!"

Nick whimpers more. I realized I scared him by my yelling. I quickly run my fingers through his hair.

"Shh. It's okay, Nick. I'm mad at the Ariados, not you."

"Oh-ok."

"Gardevoir...I don't have any food on me...and I think the Ariados is getting impatient…"

I sigh.

"Well Nick...its time to show you how a Pokémon Battle works."

"A...A-A Battle?"

"Yes, a Battle."

I turn back to face Gardevoir's backside.

"Gardevoir! Use Dazzling Gleam!"

Suddenly I see a bright glow from Gardevoir's eyes that flips the Ariados over. I can hear it screeching its name angrily, and suddenly about 20 Spinarak come skittering quickly towards us. I feel Nick stiffen in terror. I can tell he's REALLY terrified of bugs.

"Uh oh. Ok this does not look good here…"

Suddenly Gardeovir uses a Psybeam to break the web holding my Pokémon. As they start falling to the ground, I realize that Nick let go of my hand and is running to catch them. He jumps and Glaceon falls into his arms, with Sylveon landing on top of her. I wince, because that cannot have felt good for poor Glaceon. Then Gardevoir grabs my hand as Nick is running back to us.

"Mari. We need to Teleport back home NOW!"

I wait a minute to let Nick reach us, and then give her the go ahead. A bright flash of light later, and we are all standing in front of the house. I breathe a sigh of relief and walk over to Nick to remove the webbing over Glaceon and Sylveon's mouths. They gulp in the air as Nick sets them down on the ground. Then I pick up Sylveon while Gardevoir grabs Glaceon, and we carry them into the house with Nick trailing behind us. We head to the living room and sit down on the couch.

"Okay you two…"

Glaceon and Sylveon turn to look at me.

"...tell Gardevoir what happened so she can explain to me."

They nod and turn to their attention to Garde. After many repetitions of their cries, Gardevoir telepathically explains what they did. I shake my head in disappointment.

"Girls...I know now that you wanted to try to earn Nick's trust by bringing him Berries, but you could've been a meal for those Bug-Types."

Sylveon turns to look at Glaceon and says her cry sharply while glaring daggers at her. Glaceon's ears droop as she timidly curls up against my stomach. I look at Gardevoir questioningly, and sighs before using telepathy again.

"Sylvy is chastising her sister, since it was her idea."

I nod, then get an idea.

"Hey girls, how about we all calm down and head out back to work on our Performance?"

Immediately Nick shakes his head no, and Glaceon lets out a small gasp while Sylveon's ears just droop. I realize that they are still upset over accidentally freezing Nick.

"W-wait! Garde and I can practice OUR routine while you three just watch."

I see Nick still looks apprehensive, while the girls nod, a bit of excitement showing.

"Come on, Nick. It'll be fun. You won't get frozen this time."

He sighs, then nods.

"A-a-alright...let's go out back."

We go to the same spot as yesterday, and Gardevoir then uses Dazzling Gleam on me, eliciting a gasp from Nick.

*Nick's Perspective*

I watch as the light from Gardevoir's eyes completely engulfs Mari. After seeing how it flipped that giant spider-er, Ariados, I am understandably worried about my caretaker. But then, when the light fades away, she is still standing there, but her eyes are sparkling while she has a pink bow in her hair. She is also now wearing a pink dress and blue socks.

"How…?"

She giggles, then winks at Gardevoir.

"Ready to show our performance?"

Gardevoir nods, and then she starts floating. Then her eyes glow and suddenly she fires off a beam of psychic energy towards Mari, before teleporting in front of Mari. Then, a big blue sphere forms around them both, and absorbs the beam. Mari swings herself into the air with Gardevoir's arms before another beam is fired. This time it hits Mari, and she gasps before falling to the ground. I run up to her followed by Sylveon and Glaceon.

"M-M-Mari? Mari?!"

She sits up, holding her head.

"Ow...well that didn't go according to plan. Garde you forgot to fire enough Psybeams to surround me and explode on me right when they hit your Protect.."

I look back and see Gardevoir with her hands covering her mouth in shock. Then she teleports right next to Mari, and looks at the rest of us.

"Nick."

"Yea?"

"Let's just head back inside."

"Ok, Gardevoir."

We head inside, with Gardevoir helping Mari. Then Gardevoir takes her to the kitchen before grabbing an ice pack from the freezer. After a few minutes of us just standing there, Mari clears her throat.

"Well, that was eventful to say the least. But how about we just relax and watch a movie?"

The three Pokémon nod eagerly. I nod, a little unsure. Mari gasps.

"Nick! You probably haven't seen the Star Wars movies yet!"

Still holding her ice pack to her head, she rushes into the living room and we all follow. Soon she turns on the TV, and Gardevoir goes back into the kitchen for some reason. Sylveon starts using her feelers to flip the lights off, and Glaceon pulls out a DVD before handing it to Mari, who puts into the Player. Soon Gardevoir comes back with popcorn.

"Nick, since you haven't seen the movies, we are going to start with the original trilogy."

I nod. Soon the exciting movie is playing, and Glaceon is curled up in my lap, which makes feel uneasy. But halfway through the first movie, I'm still not frozen, so I realize that I can trust her again. Mari starts a second movie, and I fall asleep during it…

*Gardevoir's Perspective*

I watch as Glaceon falls asleep in Nick's lap, then Nick falls asleep soon after. I stifle a laugh and cover them up with a blanket before leaning against Mari, who's yawning tiredly, and passing out.

Author's Note

Ok so first off, Author's Notes. They will only be put at the end of chapters. Some chapters may not even have them. I'll only put them in when I deem it necessary.

Second of all, this chapter isn't my best work. It's more meant to be filler because next chapter is the more important one.

Finally, next chapter the Professor will be back from Hoenn and Nick will get his Starter! Yay! Leave a review predicting who it is! Get it right and you get to become the first Trainer in chapter 11 that I will fight! Oragonking and Remited cannot participate in the prediction, as they already know which Pokémon Nick will receive.
