The hotel seemed to be getting more crowded as demons checked into it, some of them wanting redemption, others just wanting the free food and rent. For whatever reason, Alastor smiled as he watched the guests. Sure, he was always smiling, but this time it felt... unforced. He looked over at the bar, some demons he figured to see. What he was surprised about was that he didn't see Angel Dust or Husk.
A blackbird demon with green eyes came over to Alastor, a wide grin across his face.
"Myles, my good friend!" Alastor greeted and he made his microphone disappear from his hand.
The bird scowled back. "I need to talk to you," he explained, pulling the Radio Demon towards the door. "Alone."
Alastor looked around, then shrugged and followed his friend outside the hotel. When the door closed, Myles shoved Alastor against the wall.
"What in the heck happened!" the blackbird demanded, getting beak-to-nose with the Radio Demon.
"My friend, I have no idea what you're talking about," Alastor lied.
"Don't try to pull this on me, you son of a snake! What happened to our plan? You were supposed to get close to the Princess, use her to get to Lucifer, then kill off the royal family and take the throne!"
Alastor gulped nervously, hoping that no one would hear their conversation.
"I..." he started, but couldn't find the right words. He looked around, seeing if Charlie or anyone was nearby. Thankfully, they weren't. "I... guess I forgot about it."
All that reply got him was a slap to the face!
"WHAT!?" Myles boomed, his demon form slipping. "WHAT DO YOU MEAN 'YOU FORGOT!?'"
The Radio Demon looked at the bird, feeling... scared? Why should HE, of all demons in the Underworld, be scared?
Alastor shook his head, regaining his confidence, and snarled at his friend.
"I'm not going through with the plan anymore. Overthrowing Lucifer and claiming the throne is wrong!"
Myles felt his eye twitch. "Is this because of the Princess?"
The buck already knew the reason he had forgotten about his and Myles' plan.
"You can't be serious! Al, you're the Radio Demon!"
As the two continued to argue, they didn't hear the hotel door open...
"You were supposed to use Charlie, then kill her off when you take the throne! Just like we planned!" the bird squawked. A soft gasp caused Alastor to move his gaze to the owner of it he could have sworn his heart stopped beating.
Charlie stood a few feet away from the two friends, her hands clasped over her mouth. Tears started forming in her eyes and Alastor slowly moved towards her.
"Charlie?"
The Princess took a step away from him.
"Demon belle... I... I can explain! The plan never meant to... I didn't..." he tried to assure her, but to no avail.
Without thinking, Charlie turned around and sprinted down the sidewalk.
"Charlie wait!" Alastor called, running after his love. After some time, the Radio Demon stopped, looking in Charlie's direction. He hung his head in shame.

Walking away, he looked at the red star in the sky, feeling his heart breaking with every step.
