Chapter 9! Thanks to Seleine16, fitzclaire, and RPM Shadow for reviewing!
RPM Shadow: I love that idea! I'm totally using it! Although, I don't know too much about Akita's brother, but I will totally include Akita and Skylor! Thank you so much for the great idea! It is because of you the chapter is the way it is!
How could this be happening? Maya thought that having all of the help from the Ninja Team they would defeat Nadakhan without trouble. Instead, they were stuck in a loop, winning, then losing. Zane got Jay back, Zane's now out of commission. Kai got Keith back, now they have taken Cole. What in the world could they do? How could the good guys win?
The rest of the team was brainstorming, they all knew they had to defeat Nadakhan soon, or else he would win. Jay suggested that they resurrect the Nindroids, but reprogram the coding to make them good. Nya shot that idea down, it wasn't foolproof. Someone could easily hack into them, or Jay could mess up the coding.
Mo and Maya had suggested that they wish their whole team out of the Blade, but Lloyd had pointed out an obvious fact: they had neither the time or wishes to do so.
Jay sighed. Nothing was going their way. As he worked on Zane, he pondered what they would often do when they needed help. That's when he had an idea. Dropping his screwdriver in excitement, he stood up, shocked that he came up with it. It was so obvious!
"Jay? What is it?" Kai asked, concerned for his friend. He would never tell anyone this, but he was always concerned that Jay would lose his marbles. Maybe he has.
"I know what we should do! What did I do when I was the only Ninja remaining, when we fought Nadakhan first? What did we do when we were in the Noodle factory on Chen's Island?"
Kai shrugged his shoulders, unclear at what Jay was getting at. The Master of Lightning sighed. "We got help! I recruited the Ninja Replacements to fight Nadakhan, that made us win. When we were eliminated in the Tournament of Elements, Cole , Karlof, and all of the rest of the elementalists worked together and escaped! If we ask others for help…"
"We might be able to beat him!" The Master of Fire finished, a smile forming on his face.
" Okay, that is a great idea, but, who should we ask?" Nya asked as she pulled a pen and paper out, getting ready to write down the others' ideas.
"Skylor!" Kai and Keith said at the same time, laughing. Lloyd nodded in agreeance.
"We'll have to let her know about Keith, but it's a great idea. Anyone else?"
"My mom, er, Akita, could be useful, too. I'm sure you guys have some Traveler's Tea around." Nya wrote the idea down.
"Dareth?" Maya asked. Everyone groaned. "What? He's cool."
"Maybe in the future, but definitely not now. It's best he stays out of it. Ronin, too. I still don't trust him." Jay said, recalling what the thief was going to do to Nya when they were fighting against Morro. He shuddered. No one kissed his girl.
As they were throwing more ideas around, Jay turned Zane on, hoping that he had fixed their Nindroid friend. A soft whirring sound was heard, and Zane's blue eyes opened. Everyone let out a sigh of relief.
"Welcome back, Ice-cube." Lloyd said, helping him off of the worktable. The Nindroid gave him a smile.
"Dneppah tahw?" He said, but immediately shutting his mouth, horrified by what had come out of it. He tried again.
"Olleh? Olleh?"
"Oh, snap." Jay said, opening Zane's control box once again. Keith looked at the inner workings with confusion.
"Sdrawkcab gniklat m'i!"
"I think something is wrong with his voice box." The engineer said. Lloyd groaned.
"Obviously, Motor-mouth! He's talking backwards again!" Nya rolled her eyes at the Green Ninja's outburst, and joined her fiance in front of Zane. The Nindroid looked very confused, but still let them work at his voice control. He sighed.
"Well, while the nerds are working on Zane, we should go get Skylor and Akita, tell them what's going on." Kai said, grabbing his coat. Zane perked up.
"Laxip! Laxip!" He exclaimed, waving his arms for attention and understanding, much to Jay and Nya's dismay.
"Dude! Stop moving so much! We're trying to help you, and you're not making it easy!" Jay commented, getting frustrated. Nonetheless, Zane continued, getting irritated.
"Laxip! Pleh s'laxip teg!"
Mo closed his eyes, envisioning the words in his head, but the other way around. It must be important….Laxip….P...I...X…..Pixal! Zane was a genius!
" Zane's suggesting that we get Pixal's help! Great idea, Zane! I totally am for it!" The Nindroid nodded, confirming Mo's speculations.
Lloyd clapped, getting everyone's attention once again. "Alright. Maya and Kai will go get Skylor, Keith and I will get Akita, and Nya will join Mo in getting Pixal. Jay, you will keep on working on Zane?" Jay gave a thumbs up, and everyone got ready.
Kai and Maya walked into Chen's Noodle House, the smell of the delicious noodle goodness making their mouths water. Maya sighed. She has had her share of Auntie Skylor's noodles, but found that she could never get enough of it. It's a shame they weren't her for enjoyment, though. They had a job to do.
The young ninja waited in the lobby while Kai went to the kitchen to find his girlfriend. Apparently, he could go anywhere in the restaurant without question. Cole would love that.
She suddenly remembered that Cole was captured, and she got worried. She had seen the Earth Ninja in action, both in this time and the future, and he was an incredible warrior. Strong, brave. He could handle himself. But, then, it was Nadakhan they were talking about, the same man that killed her mother in the past and possibly her father from the future by now...
She saw Kai and Skylor exit the kitchen, Skylor's red hair in a messy bun, her apron covered in oil. The two were laughing, and Maya couldn't help but smile, but it didn't reach her eyes. As much as she wanted to see Skylor again, she was a bit concerned about how she would take the news of her son from the future being here, and actually working with Keith. And, even the fact that the Master of Fire also didn't have Amber, while Maya had both of her parents' elements...that would raise questions. Questions that the Hydro-Electric ninja didn't want to answer.
Kai, upon spotting his future niece, gestured to her, and the trio sat at a table, away from the customers. Probably a good idea.
"Hi! I'm Skylor." The Master of Amber said, reaching out her hand. Maya shook it.
"Maya. It's good to meet you."
"Likewise. Kai told me that you, and the Ninja, of course, needed help with an enemy? No offence, but I expected you to be older."
Before Maya could respond, Kai stepped in.
"This is actually a fellow ninja we had the pleasure of meeting, but here's the cool part: She's from the future." Even though Skylor was clearly confused, a smile formed on her face.
"From the future? That's so cool! So, could you possibly be a descendant of someone I know?" Maya nodded. She was going to find out eventually, and they might as well rip off the band-aid.
"Yup. I'm actually Jay and Nya's daughter. I'm from the next generation." Skylor's mouth dropped.
"Wow. How did Jay take that?"
Maya formed lightning in her palm, but kept it out of view of the customers. "He found it quite shocking." All three laughed.
"So. Remember when I told you that Nya had died in a different timeline? Well, the guy that was the cause of her death is back. With a full crew. And they have Cole." Kai asked, taking a sip of the green juice Maya hated.
"Wait. That evil Djinn? He has Cole? I'm in, without a doubt."
"It's gonna be dangerous, Sky." Kai warned, not wanting his girlfriend to get into something she didn't want to. She shrugged.
"I know. Don't care. It's you who has to be cautious, Fireboy."
Maya cleared her throat, not wanting to wait a minute longer. The two gave her attention, the Fire Ninja blushing slightly.
"I should let you know that I'm not the only one that's here from the future…" She started, stalling. Okay, okay, she got this. Just do it. She took a breath. " Lloyd's son, Mo, is also here, and… your son. Keith."
" Wait, what?" Kai took her hand.
"I know, it's crazy. I was shocked, too. I really was, Sky, but we have to put up with it. We need your help."
Skylor turned to her husband, angery. " What do you mean you were shocked, too, Kai? Is there something else you're not telling me?"
"Umm...he's my son, too. He's our son."
Skylor huffed. " So, we do get married in the future. That's funny, given you never hang out with me. Sometimes I wonder if we're actually an item." She said, frustrated. Kai was taken aback.
"What are you talking about? I love you, Sky. I'm just really busy right now! I haven't had time for you." At this point, the two were making a scene, and Maya was scared half to death. She had no clue how to help. Kai and Skylor never fought while she lived with them, so this was strange. Maybe they always fought without anyone around?
"Really busy? Kai, until Nadakhan showed up you weren't busy! I'm your girlfriend! You should pay attention to me! You should have time for me! But, the only time I see you is when you need help. Forget it, Kai. You're not getting my help this time!" With that, Skylor stood up and stormed off into the back. Kai called for her, but she didn't turn back. Irritated, he walked out of the restaurant, started his car, and drove off, leaving Maya sitting in the restaurant alone.
Maya was left thinking one thought: What had just happened?
Thanks again to RPM Shadow for the amazing idea! I will update (hopefully) within a week. Stay tuned and review! Can we get up to 40 reviews by next chapter? That would be awesome!
