Late 1962

"Morning lovebirds." Sean greeted loudly strolling into their room the following morning, the couple groaned and Ivy rolled over while Alex lifted his head to glare at his friend, "Alex you got a clean shirt I could borrow?"

"What's wrong with your clothes?" the blonde asked rolling out of bed, tugging on a pair of sweatpants before walking into the bathroom.

"They're all dirty," the redhead responded already digging through the dresser drawers, "Ivy needs to do laundry."

"Do your own laundry." Ivy snapped with her face buried in her pillow.

"Can't," He complained, "Alex banned me."

"That's cuz," Alex retorted as he poked his head out of the bathroom toothbrush hanging out of his mouth. "Last time I caught you trying to steal my girl's underwear."

"Not true," Sean snapped back with no real venom, "I was admiring them." He joked before suddenly humming, "Looked a lot like these."

"Hey," Alex snapped dashing out of the bathroom and grabbing the underwear from Sean's hand and stuffing it back into the drawer handing him the shirt he was supposed to be looking for, "Here."

"Thank you." Sean responded tugging the shirt over his head, "By the way, I live next door, I heard you guys all night," he stressed, "Didn't know you had it in you buddy." He joked clapping a hand on Alex's shoulder.

"The other half of this floor's empty, feel free to move over there." Ivy told him.

"Then I'd be further away from my best friends." Sean teased.

"Besides, we were celebrating." Alex told him leaning against the drawer set.

"Celebrating what?" Sean asked curiously. "That Ivy cut her mom out of her life?"

"Better." Ivy said with a smile rolling back over to look at her friend.

Sean blinked for a moment glancing between the two of them, "What?" he drawled suspiciously.

"You ever been a best man before buddy?" Alex joked clapping his friends shoulder, it took a moment but it was almost as if a bell went off in Sean's head.

"Oh my god!" Ivy smirked raising a brow, "Wait, are you guys serious?" he asked Alex who nodded with a smile, Sean screeched diving onto the bed "That's awesome." He yelled hugging Ivy tightly kissing her head, "That's awesome!" he repeated jumping back off the bed and giving the same treatment to Alex, "I have to tell everyone- Can I tell everyone? Please let me tell everyone?"

"Go ahead." Alex shrugged shaking with laughter, pretending to flinch when Sean kissed his head again.

"This is awesome." He yelled running from the room, "Hank! Wake up! Alex and Ivy are getting married!" Sean yelled banging his hands on Hank's door that was a few rooms away, "Everyone, Ivy and Alex are getting married!" his voice came again before tapering off as he ran down the stairs.

The couple shared an amused look before breaking out into laughter at their friend's antics, before he jumped back into bed hugging her tightly.

Sean did an amazing job getting the word around the mansion, Hank was the first after Sean to congratulate them, once he'd recovered from being rudely awakened by the loud redhead. When they ventured downstairs for breakfast the mansions occupants congratulated them, including Charles who was almost as excited as Sean was, only he was much more subdued.

Thankfully the attention turned away from them after breakfast, because families were arriving, given that it was Christmas time. The kids whose families refused to join them during the holidays were given extra affection to try and make up for it, but for the most part they didn't even seem to care that their blood families didn't want to come and see them, in fact a few of them were almost relieved.

Sean's parents arrived, and they were a delight to say the least, followed by Alex's who all marveled at the beautiful mansion in which they would be spending their holidays.

"You don't waste time do you?" Alex's father joked after he told them of his impromptu proposal.

"I learned from the best." Alex shot back and his parents grinned at the good-natured barb of being remind that they has known each other for a month at most before getting married. "Which reminds me, I kind of need your help with something, mom."

"Anything."

"I don't have a ring." Elaine Summers gasped and just barely refrained from smacking her son upside the head, warning him of the dangerous of shopping for something like an engagement ring so close to Christmas time, before beginning to strategize the best way for going out and purchasing the best one.

While that was happening, Ivy herself was none the wiser to the fond glances coming from the Summers' family nor the conversation, instead she was impatiently listening out for the doors to the mansion to be opened once again, since her family was the last to arrive, while also being engaged in a spirited conversation with the Cassidy family. It was easy to see where Sean got his excitable nature from, and his little sister was nothing short of adorable hanging onto Sean's legs whenever he moved about.

Finally there was another knock at the door and Ivy politely excused herself and moved as quickly as she could to throw the door open and nearly launch herself at the woman waiting on the other side, Sister Theodosia, now promoted to Mother Superior held her just as tight, "My girl." She whispered against the side of her head.

"I missed you so much." Ivy confessed her voice wavering slightly as they separated.

"I've missed you too."

"Come in, come in." Ivy said quickly closing the door behind the nun, "Is it just you?"

"Yes, I'm sorry." The woman explained as Ivy took her bag and led her further into the mansion, "We didn't want to move so many of the children on such short notice, so it's just me."

"You are more than enough." Ivy said sincerely, after the disastrous visit from her birth mother she more than happy to be seeing and spending time with her actual mother, which reminded her of something, "There's someone I want you to meet." She said taking mother's hand and leading her over to the Summers family, Alex stepped away from his parents to meet them halfway, "Alex this is my Mother, Theodosia," she said introducing them, "Mother this is Alex Summers, my uh," she paused.

Alex stepped forward holding out his hand, "I asked Ivory to marry me last night," He explained while her mother accepted his polite handshake looking slightly confused. "I'm sorry I didn't ask permission first, but I just couldn't help myself, you've raised an amazing woman."

Mother took a moment to process the new information before a fond smile grew over her lips, "I know she is," she finally said with a nod, "And she's told me so much about you, I don't think I could've picked a better match myself."

Ivy grinned, she was for some reason afraid that her mother wouldn't approve of Alex and especially of his impromptu proposal, but just like she was all those years ago when she took Ivory in Mother Theodosia was nothing if not understanding and open. Alex's parents came over and introduced themselves to mother and Ivy shared a smile with Alex.

Later that night Ivory was helping her mother get settled into her room for the holidays.

"You know I don't remember the last time I've seen you this happy." Her mother said, "And it's not just Alex you know?"

"I know," Ivy agreed as she sat beside her on the bed, "I am happy, for many different reasons."

Mother patted her hand, "What about the other man you told me about? Erik? He's not here?"

"No he's not." Ivy responded softly, "There was a pretty big disagreement a while ago, so he left."

"I would have loved to meet him, seems like he meant a lot to you."

"He does, he's a good man. " Ivy said before standing, "I should let you get some rest."

"Ivory," mother called just before she reached the door, "Do an old woman a favor and pretend your sleeping in your own room before you sneak off into Alex's."

She blushed ducking her head, "I'll do my best."

"Mother knows," Ivy announced strolling into Alex's room after having showered and gotten into her pajamas in her own room.

"She knows what?" he asked with a laugh exiting the bathroom fresh from the shower scrubbing a towel over his head.

"That were sleeping together." She said.

Alex hummed dropping his towel and stepping closer to his fiancé wrapping his arms around her waist, "Does she know that we're sleeping together?" He ran his hands down her back to cup her backside, "Or that we're sleeping together?" he asked bouncing his eyebrows.

"What do you think?" she laughed, before he leaned in sealing his lips over hers. His slid his tongue into her mouth as his hands ran up her back underneath her tank top. "Hold on there mister." She said pulling back and Alex nearly pouted, "Not while there are parents in the house." She admonished.

"Come on." He groaned, "They're on the other side of the mansion."

"Still it's weird."

He sighed dropping his head to her shoulder, "Your right." He dropped his hands to her thighs picking her up quickly and tossing her onto the bed making her giggle. "I wanna talk to you about something anyway." He said as he crawled in beside her.

"What's up?" she asked leaning up on one arm to speak to him.

"My mom brought something to my attention today." He admitted mimicking her position and sliding a hand over her hip.

"Uh-oh." Ivy joked, "She decided that I'm not good enough for her baby boy."

"Nothing like that." He laughed, "She loves you."

"So what is it?"

"She wanted to know," he paused taking a breath, "If she was going to be a grandmother anytime soon."

That gave Ivy a pause, "Oh."

Alex blew out a breath, shifting with her when Ivy sat up to lean back against the headboard, "How do you feel about that?"

"I don't know," she admitted, "I guess that would be the next step right?"

"We don't have to rush into anything. We could just continue to enjoy being together."

Alex's compassion was one of the many reasons she loved him, and she smiled bringing her hand up to cup the back of his neck and draw him into a gentle kiss, "I love kids," she began, "And every time there was a new child at the home I would always be one of the first ones to greet them, let them know that everything's gonna be okay. And that they're gonna find a home with people that love them. And I'd think about the woman that gave birth to me, and how she treated me growing up. And I knew that I never wanted any child to go through that. If I ever were to become a mother I'd be so different from her."

"You will be." Alex mumbled into her shoulder before pressing a kiss there.

"So I'd say yeah, I think I do want a least a child of my own." Ivy finished with a nod to herself, "What about you?"

He sighed lifting up his head from her shoulder, "I guess I've never really given it much thought you know, up until I left the prison I had really convinced myself that I was just gonna live out my days there. And then everything happened," he waved a hand, "And then I met you, and you're the one I wanna spend the rest of my life with, and I think that a kid, maybe a couple running around wouldn't be such a bad thing."

Alex and Ivy were an intimate couple, this was no secret to many of the mansions resident, while of course their more scandalous acts were reserved for their shared bedroom and on occasion the en suite bathroom nothing even close to sexual ever escaped the room. That wasn't to say that they weren't affectionate around their housemates and friends, but they did try to keep much of their PDA to a minimum, especially now that both of their parents were staying at the mansion for a while.

That was how they found themselves, not exactly hiding from their friends and parents, but certainly not making a concerted effort be to around them right now as they were in their own little world in the second floor's living room at the end of the hall. Alex was laid out on the couch with his hands folded behind his head, and Ivy sat on top of him straddling his lower stomach, their positioning might have suggested otherwise but they were truly just talking, plus it was comfortable.

"Uh guys," came Hanks voice from the open doorway as he peeked his furry head in, still as shy as ever, "Your parents are coming up the stairs." He said in a warning tone.

"Okay." Ivy said with a small laugh shifting so she sat back against the couch with both her legs now comfortably thrown over Alex's, "Thanks Hank." She called as the scientist disappeared from the door, probably to go and lock himself back up in his lab.

"Good you're both here." Mother said as she finally came around the corner, Alex's parents following behind.

"Is everything alright?" Alex asked instantly as they shifted again to both sit up on the couch seeing as their parents obviously came with a plan to discuss something important.

"Yes of course everything's fine." The nun said taking down, "We've just spent the last hour or so talking with, Charles," she explained to the blonde man before turning her eyes on her daughter, "You both failed to mention that you hadn't given any thought to a ceremony."

"We've given it some thought," Ivy defended lamely, "We just," she sighed, "We don't have a lot of money mother, the school just barely got started so we kind of agreed that maybe just going down to the courts would be best."

"Absolutely not." Elaine Summers immediately said.

"But mom-" Alex tried to cut in. "No 'buts' Alexander. I won't have my only son be married in some court hall, especially when you have this beautiful mansion at your disposal."

"We can't ask that of the professor."

"He's already agreed." Henry added in, then he shared a look with his son that said plainly don't even bother trying to argue this.

"Charles said that the backyard near the lake is particularly beautiful in the springtime." Elaine trailing off at the end.

All but helpless in the face of such excitement, Alex and Ivory shared a look before nodding, looks like they were having a wedding.

And with that one impromptu family meeting, it seemed to be a match lit up that engulfed both Elaine Summers and Mother Theodosia, because in the relatively short time they were staying at the mansion they had managed to string together a relatively decent wedding plan. Of course they roped Ivy into planning along with them, as per tradition and every time she tried to drag Alex along he scurried away mumbling something about catching up with his father.

Although it wasn't as horrifying as a very petty part of Ivy wanted to believe. Since there were so few people in their lives that they could reasonably count on to attend a wedding the guest list was rather easy to put together, the location was already set and Mother herself would ordain it. All that was left was for Ivy to find the perfect dress for her spring wedding, which they agreed would be best to search for after Christmas.

By the time Christmas morning rolled around, spirits were high, and the energy was almost tangible. Gifts were exchanged underneath the Christmas tree that was set up in the main living room, decorated with as many decorations as they could find and then some. Charles had given his maids the holidays off, however with the families present they wouldn't have been needed as the women were cranking out meals like it was nobody's business. And that morning's feast of a breakfast wasn't an exception.

Ivy received a few gifts that morning, but her favourite by far was the engagement ring she's been presented with in an inconspicuous box. She didn't think anything of the tiny box when Alex handed it to her, nor did she realize how silent the room had become once he did. Since they were already basically engaged, even already planning the wedding Ivy was necessarily expecting an engagement ring. So her surprise was genuine when she opened the box and saw the perfect ring sitting inside, it grew when she looked up and saw Alex on his knee before her.

"I know I'm doing this kind of backwards," it was the first time she'd ever heard Alex stammer over his words and she could only assume it was because this time there was an audience and they weren't in the comfort of their own room, "But I wanna do this right, so do you wanna make this official, official?" By this time tears were clouding Ivy's vision, "Are you crying? You okay?" Alex asked quickly beginning to get up but pausing, "Wait did you say yes or no?"

Ivy nodded with a watery laugh "Yes," she said as he got up and hugged her, "I don't know why I'm crying, we already did this." She joked wiping her eyes as she wiped her eyes.

"I know." Alex said with a laugh rubbing her back as he sat down beside her again, his other hand still holding the small box, "You wanna put this on?"

"Yeah." She mumbled with a sniff.

Alex scrambled to pull the ring out of the box and his mother was there to take the empty box from his hands so he could focus his shaking hands on sliding the ring onto Ivy's finger. Thankfully it fit perfectly and the room full of friends and family alike burst into applause. The couple though were too absorbed in each other to take much of a notice, Alex smiled pulling his now official fiancé into his arms for another tight hug, kissing her head as he did before she pulled him down for a quick peck.

"Do you like the ring?" he mumbled into her ear.

"I love it." And she really did, it was gorgeous, simple at first glance but when she looked closer she could see the tiny details like the leafy pattern that stretched down from either side of the diamond, and the three smaller diamonds that twinkled on each side of the pattern of leaves. It was beautiful and not only did it fit her perfectly, but it also fit her perfectly.

Early 1963

New year's came and went, and with it did the family that had been welcomed at the mansion. School continued on with the students now in high spirits thanks to the holiday visits. But as things in their bubble remained in serenity, things in the outside world continued to grow bleaker, particularly concerning the war in Vietnam in which a number protests all across the country had broken out.

Ivy was pondering this early one morning after she'd left her fiancé in bed and ventured down to the kitchen in the hopes of retrieving a cup of coffee before she started her day, which consisted of her, Elaine Summers and Mother going shopping for a wedding dress. She wasn't really looking forward to it. So when she entered the kitchen to be met with the unfamiliar back of a man, she sighed not fully in the mood to break in a new student or teacher but that's what she was hear for.

"Good morning." She said politely moving to retrieve her favourite mug, "Have you met with the professor as yet?" the man didn't answer her, but he did turn around and she nearly dropped her mug in shock quickly placing it onto the counter, "Hank?" she asked just to be sure, he nodded shyly eyeing her awaiting approval, "Oh my gosh." She gasped before she launched herself at him enveloping him in a tight hug which he returned, "You did it?" she asked just to be sure, pulling back and running her hands over his smooth cheeks.

"Yeah." He said nodding with a small blush.

"How do you feel?" she asked to be sure. She and many of the others had gotten used to Hank's furry blue form, but those that knew him knew that he still wasn't fully comfortable with it, which is why he often hid himself away in his lab. Ashamed of his appearance.

"Better," he replied and Ivy could see that he meant it, it broke her heart that Hank spent so much of his time devoted to trying to make himself look like what he claimed to be normal. But she could never understand what he was feeling, she could only provide support. "Much better." He repeated.

"How does it work? Are your powers- Do you still?" she trailed off unsure how to ask the question without seeming insensitive.

"So far the serum hasn't affected my abilities, only my appearance, just like I hoped for." He supplied for her.

"Well, I'm happy for you." She said honestly.

"Thank you."

Like with many things Ivy underestimated how fun shopping for a wedding dress could be. The little boutique they went too was nice and cozy, the small array of wedding dresses not nearly as overwhelming as they would have been if Mother and Elaine had chosen one of the trendier boutiques in New York proper, but Ivy liked the nature of the small store and had a feeling that's why they chose it. The stores owner admitting that most of the dresses in her store were either thrifted or passed along from the higher end boutiques due to damage, and after she repaired or made some adjustments she was able to sell them at half the price. Ivy liked that, it made her feel better knowing that this was at least something she could spend her own money on and not feel guilty that there was yet another part of her wedding that someone else was paying for. And on top of that, the dress they'd found was absolutely gorgeous.

When she arrived home later, her dress safely stored away with Elaine, the mansion was bustling with its usual activity, noise of the protests and growing narcotics movement sounding from one radio or another.

"Hey Sean," she called stopping the redhead as he passed her in the hall, "Where's Alex?"

Her friend shrugged, "Said he had to check something outside the city, probably be getting back late."

"New student?"

"He didn't say."

Ivy sighed but proceeded to their bedroom.

Spring 1963

"Not having second thoughts are you?" Ivory heard a familiar accented voice teased as she stared out of one of the windows at the backyard and the small crowd that were taking their seats.

"Of course not." She responded glancing over her shoulder as Charles rolled his way into the room. "It's just," she sighed, "A wedding right now, feels a little off, I mean there's so much happening right now that could change everyone's lives in a moment's notice."

"Maybe that's exactly what we all need," he said taking her hand, "We have to take the positives in life as we can get them, and I think we all could do with a bit of celebration. Don't let what's happening in the rest of world ruin your special day."

"Thank you Charles." Ivy smiled squeezing his hand.

"You're welcome," he responded pressing a soft kiss to the back of her hand, "It's time." He said with a smile.

Ivory felt like she was floating, Charles' backyard had been transformed nearly entirely, the yard was beautiful to begin with but draped with the white cloths and the flowers in full bloom, likely a reaction to her powers, the yard was nearly enchanting.

Her dress trailed behind her, her hand tightly clutching the small bouquet in her hands, and the smile on her face that grew the closer she got to Alex. Her fiancé, soon to be husband's smile matched her.

Alex stepped forward and took her hand holding tight as he led her the remainder of the way to where her mother stood waiting with a beaming smile on her face.

Ivy barely registered the ceremony, too focused and keeping her eyes from water and Alex's eyes. She repeated the words as Mother said them promising to love, and cherish Alexander Summers until death. Alex repeated the vows back to her with a wide smile, and finally Mother said the words, 'You may kiss the bride', and they were officially pronounced man and wife. They walked back down the aisle arm in arm as Ivy took note of the attendees, of course there were the students of the school, and a few of their parents, Sean and his family, Hank and the professor, Alex's parents, a few of the nuns that helped raise Ivy and a handful of the kids from the home. Finally there were the friends that they made in California whom they'd kept in touch with and who were more than happy to make the trip to New York for the wedding.

Everybody needs inspiration
Everybody needs a song

Alex pulled her close to his chest, one hand resting on her waist, the other held hers in his grip resting between them against his chest. Ivy rested a hand on his shoulder and swayed along with him as they enjoyed their first dance together as husband and wife.

When my world is falling apart
When there's no light to break up the dark
That's when I, I
I look at you

"So," Alex whispered catching her so she tilted her head back to look at him, "Is it everything you've dreamed of?"

When I look at you, I see forgiveness
I see the truth
You love me for who I am
Like the stars hold the moon
Right there where they belong
And I know I'm not alone

"More," Ivy said with a smile, "So much more." She added before kissing him again.

"You know," Ivy said falling into a chair beside Charles, "I think it's almost tradition that every important man has a dance with the bride." She teased, she was taking a moment to breathe while her new husband was sharing a group dance a few of the younger girls of school, whom had trouble hiding their innocent crushes on the blonde.

"That would be a sight wouldn't it." Charles joked patting his wheelchair, he was grinning widely with a half empty glass in his hand, the flush on his cheeks suggesting that this was far from his first drink.

"I'm sure we could figure something out," Ivy smiled before resting her hand on top of Charles' "I wanted to say thank you."

"Whatever for?" he asked turning his hand over, so he could cradle hers.

"Everything," she said with shrug, "If you guys hadn't recruited me, I never would have met Alex. We wouldn't be here right now."

"I like to think that life would have worked itself out."

The bride huffed a laugh, "You know, I had Moira down on the guest list. Everything was pretty last minute but I was hoping to send her an invitation, but Hank said it might not be a great idea." At that Charles ducked his head slightly, "Did you two have a bad falling out?"

"No, we uh- I wiped her memory of us, Cuba, the beach, all of it."

"I'm sorry you had to do that."

"It's alright." He said patting her hand with his other one, "Its better this way." He told her, "By the way, I have a wedding gift for you and Alex."

"No, Charles, you've already done so much for us." She said stopping him from reaching into his suit jacket, "We're having our wedding in your backyard that you paid for, please we can't accept anything else."

"Ivy please," Charles said smiling patiently, "I promise you I have more money than I know what to do with. Besides this one was a collaboration with your parents."

Ivy sighed, taking the envelope, "Fine." She sighed before suddenly perking up, "Now," she said standing from her seat and plopping down onto Charles' legs, he grunted in surprise that morphed into an amused smile, "I'm having that dance." She stated firmly.

"Who am I to deny the bride her wishes on her special day?" he joked setting his hands on the wheels of his chair and carefully rolling them in the direction of the dancefloor.

"You are no fool professor." Ivy teased scratching the back of his head fondly.

"Did you get one too?" Ivy asked her husband some time later as she took a break from the dancing.

"I sure did, from our parents." Alex responded pulling an identical envelope from his inner jacket pocket.

"From Charles."

"What do you think they are?"

"We'll find out later." She said stuffing them both into his pocket, letting her hands linger on his chest after they were safely in his jacket looking him over, he'd taken off his tie and undone the first few buttons of his shirt and clearly having run his fingers through his hair a couple times he looked deliciously disheveled and was all hers.

He smirked as if he could see the thoughts building in her head, before his gaze drifted over her shoulder and his smirk turned into a grin, "Incoming."

Before she could ask what he meant arms wrapped around her from behind picking her up off her feet, "My turn!" Sean sang as he carried her back towards the dancefloor.

"I already dance with you." Ivy pointed out with a giggle even as she let herself be dragged off.

"You know I can't get enough of you babe."

"C'mere," Alex said interrupting Ivy's attempt to get a refreshment that wasn't champagne as was the case with her good friend Sean, taking her hand and pulling her behind him, "I have a surprise for you." He told her continuing to lead her over to the very edge of the mansion's property where it met the forest beyond.

"What?" Ivy teased holding up her dress with her free hand a broad smile on her face that she couldn't get rid of if she tried, "What is it?"

"Just trust me."

"I thought this was supposed to come during the honeymoon." she joked tugging on his hand and Alex smiled.

"It's not like that." He said with a mischievous smile coming to a stop at a small clearing a few feet into the forest.

"Then what is it?" she asked before being rendered speechless as a familiar figure emerged from the dense foliage, "Erik?" she gasped in shock tightening her hand around Alex's briefly, she glanced up at him and he nodded so Ivy released him and dashed the short distance to meet Erik hugging him tight ducking underneath the metal helmet that adorned his head. He returned it pressing a soft kiss to the side of her head careful not to ruin her intricate style, "How did you know?"

"Turns out your husband is better at finding people than he led on." He teased sharing a look with Alex, "Congratulations my friend."

"Thank you," Alex said nodding, before glancing over his shoulder, "I'll go see if my mom still wants that dance."

Ivy smiled at his not so subtle retreat before turning back to Erik when he gently squeezed her waist to grab her attention, "Might I have a dance with the bride?"

"I would love that." She said her smile growing then giggled when his arm tightened around her to pick her up from the ground and spin them in a circle, before he set her down and took her hand in his leading them in a gentle waltz. The music from the reception was just loud enough to carry through to the forest.

For all those times you stood by me

For all the truth that you made me see

For all the joy you brought to my life

"You look beautiful Blume, Alex is quite lucky. You both are."

You saw the best there was in me

Lifted me up when I couldn't reach

You gave me faith 'cause you believed

"Where did you learn to dance?" Ivy asked resting her head on his shoulder.

"My mother."

You gave me wings and made me fly

You touched my hand, I could touch the sky

I lost my faith, you gave it back to me

You said no star was out of reach

"I know we don't agree on a lot of things, but I'm really happy you came."

"I wouldn't have missed this for anything Blume."

If he were being honest with himself, Alex had been so concerned with marrying Ivory that he hadn't really given much thought to a honeymoon, at least not in the traditional sense. He had been fully prepared to whisk Ivy off in about a years' time after he'd managed to earn a bit of revenue for himself and his wife. But then again, he also hadn't been expecting the wedding that their parents and Charles had pulled together for them, so needless to say that the gift of a honeymoon from them was another shock.

Regardless of where he was going to be, Alex only had two thoughts on his mind on the night of his wedding, the first was ridding himself of his suit, which wasn't as uncomfortable as a very petty and childish part of him wanted to believe. The second was ridding his wife of her own wedding attire before whisking her off to bed. The chances of the second half of the latter part of his plans seemed to be dwindling by the moment as his drunken wife half stumbled into their suite.

He followed her in his suit jacket tossed over his shoulder, being held by his two fingers and his other hand held her shoes that she discarded in the hotel lobby, much to the disgruntlement of the high society guests of the hotel. He closed the door as she made her way to the window and all but stuck her face onto the glass.

"Look at this view Alex." She gushed and he agreed, setting their things down on the couch before she disappeared into the bathroom and he heard her squeal about the size of the tub. Alex smiled and laughed to himself a little when he followed her into the ornate bathroom and found her working far too hard on letting her hair down, "Shut up," she muttered, in what was surely supposed to be a threatening tone, and not as adorable as it was, "I don't know how many pins, your mom stuck in my hair, but they're all lost now." She whined and he took pity on her and stood behind her helping to dislodge the hairpins.

Alex knew that he should have cut her off after her third or fourth glass of champagne, but in his defense, he'd seen Ivy whiskey-drunk and couldn't possible imagine that some bubbly would have the same effect. To some degree he was right, Ivy was rather emotional that night when she drank more than half of Erik's whiskey but that could have been due to the context of the night. Also she was no less giggly and flirtatious now than she was then, so that was probably all her regardless of her drink of choice.

One thing he was simultaneously looking forward to as well as dreading, was having to fend her off when he dragged her to bed. She tried his self-control that night when she was drunk off whiskey and not giving into her was not as easy as he made it out to be, and they weren't even fully together at that time. Now that they were married, he just knew that she would use that to her full advantage regardless of her inebriation, but he wasn't going to allow their first time together as husband and wife be with her being drunk.

"Scratch my head." She requested in that whiny voice as she dropped the final hairpin and he acquiesced burying his fingers in her dark hair and scratching at her scalp, his wife practically purred.

"Better." He asked with a grin.

"Much."

He smiled at the sleepy quality of her voice finding that it might be easy than he thought to get her to agree to sleep rather than any consummation just yet, "C'mon," her urged, "Let's get you to bed." She went willingly as he all but dragged her from the room.

He pulled her dress off and slipped her into the negligee that was packed into her bag, depositing her into the bed before he worked on getting his own suit off. Ivy sunk down into the pillows almost immediately, before she perked up as she seemed to recall something, "Hey," she called out watching her husband undress from beneath lidded eyes, "We're supposed to bang each other senseless tonight, start making little babies." She slurred even as she sunk lower into the fluffy sheets.

Alex chuckled crawling into the other side of the bed, "I don't know if you're up for that babydoll." He said with a smile as she crawled into his arms.

"I am too." She protested as she melted into him.

"We'll save the banging for the morning." He proposed, and she nodded heavily into his chest.

"Promise?"

He responded by pressing a kiss to the top of her head.

Fin-Fish Jun-Tenshi: It most certainly was ;). Yeah, Ivy's birth parents suck.

10868letsgo: Yeah, she's awful

LunaEvanna Longbottom: Lol, nothing get past you guys ;).

Guest: Aww, thank you so much.

CyberChick135: Awe thank you, I both love and hate the fact that Alex didn't have too much development throughout the movies cuz it means that I get to come up with a lot of his character actions, but at the same time I wish I didn't have to create so much of him, you know? Either way I'm super happy that you're enjoying the story. And yes, I really wanted to highlight Ivy's individual relationship with each character. I've got some real exciting things planned for DOFP so I can't wait until we get there. I love your story too!

Hey folks, I apologize for the extremely long wait on this chapter, these are trying times that were living in and it had really been taking a toll on my mental health. I've lost so much motivation for the things I love doing but I'm slowly starting to get it back.

But anyway even though it took long to finish, this chapter was super fun to write and I hope you all enjoyed it. Given the timeline of the chapter, what do you guys think is going to happen next?

As always let me know what you think and what you'd like to see in the near future. Leave me a review too, as you can see I'll be answering/responding to the ones can. So feel free to say or ask me anything.
