Chapter Seven

(Adora's POV)

It's a three-day weekend, and homework is done.

Becky, Catra and I are in the living room of Becky's adoptive family. We've all got our Nintendo Switches and we're hooked up to the Internet, ready to visit Becky's island to trade fruit and get recipe cards and extra fossils Becky has and doesn't need. Becky's fruit orchard is almost complete, only missing oranges.

After arriving on Watford, named after the school in one of Becky's favorite books, Carry On, we – Catra's and my characters – head over to the clearing on Watford to swap fruit, since Catra and I are a bit further than Becky in New Horizons, Becky agreed to trade fruit with us in exchange for oranges from both of us so her orchard can be complete.

Catra and I both drop oranges near Becky's character, Rachel, and Catra and I each take an equal amount of recipe cards and fossils. I had made a list of the fossils with check marks next to the ones I have, so I see that Becky has laid out ones that I don't have. I did the same thing with the recipe cards.

Becky's character is wearing a purple princess dress and a silver tiara. My character is wearing a red dress Becky designed that was similar to the homecoming dress I wore this past fall. Catra's character is wearing a suspender outfit, sans fedora, since Becky's ex-boyfriend from middle school wore one and he threatened her when she dumped him and that really freaked her out, as does anything that reminds her of him.

Anyway, Catra's character is also wearing a rose flower crown Becky made for her, as am I.

After we're done on Watford, we head to my island, Etheria, and the whole process repeats.

After we're done on Etheria, we head to Catra's island, FrightZone.

When we're done on FrightZone, we stop playing together and get our daily tasks done separately, but while sitting together.

After we're done playing Animal Crossing, we do what we do every time we finish playing: watch other people play it on YouTube or Twitch.

What can I say?

We're downright obsessed with Animal Crossing: New Horizons. But can you blame us?
