A/N: Reviews are life! I'm seriously 5000% more likely to post if you drop a review! Hope you enjoy!
Sophie sat on her bed and looked at her diary from when she still lived with her real parents, from when she thought she was normal. Those days were easy. What had she gotten herself into? She opened the diary and read her entries from what seemed like a century ago.
Dear Diary,
Tiffany is having a birthday party this weekend. She handed out invitations to all the girls except for me in class today. It's actually fine, I don't really know her that well, but it still hurt that she invited the girl who moved here from Hong Kong last month who doesn't speak English yet and not me. I guess I'll just work more on my science fair project instead. I don't have to turn it in for four months, but It's always good to be prepared, right? I have two really good ideas so far, and I haven't chosen yet. How are you supposed to choose between a nuclear fusion reactor and a working, scale model of the Hubble Space Telescope? They both have their pros and cons. Anyway, I have to go now. I should finish my homework so I can get to bed early.
Lots of love, -Sophie
Dear Diary,
I decided I'm going to make the model of the Hubble Telescope for my project. It will cost less, and since my family's money is a little tight right now, I figured that would be best. I don't think Amy understands that, because she's constantly asking for useless items like fashion magazines and skinny jeans. I don't understand her obsession with fitting in and keeping up with the current fads. She's always listening to whatever new music is at the top of the charts that day and obsessing over her hair and... well, I don't know. Who can understand the mind of a popular girl? My mom is calling for me to come down for dinner, so I have to go.
Lots of love, -Sophie
Sophie looked up, chest tight and throat thick. She missed them so much, it physically hurt. It had been a long time, and she liked her life here, but in that moment, she wished she had never met Fitz, never been taken here, never gone to Foxfire, never figured out what she was. A tear dripped onto her lap, and she realized she was crying. How could she live, staying here forever? And not just until she died, literally forever. She wouldn't be able to see her sister grow up. She wouldn't be able to see herself grow up, not really. She closed the diary and put it back in its hiding spot.
Ding! A text, from Keefe, of course.
You think we can hang out tonight?
Well, she didn't have anything going on, and honestly, Grady and Edaline were so oblivious... she shot him a text back.
After last night? Probably not
